For the past year I've been playing bass in my thrash/power metal band Draconequus, and I gotta say, Ryan is a huge inspiration, and is in top form in this song. He does a fantastic job of jumping around between all of the things a good bassist is supposed to do. He augments the drums when the song needs a rhythmic punch. He rounds out the bottom end of the guitars when it needs harmonic resonance. He sprinkles a welcome amount of melodic diversity in a way that compliments the vocal melody. Fucking boss. Great team player, with a good perspective on song-writing.
Plunder Steed Too bad that on their last two albums his bass playing became less prominent a Mudvanyne's songs suffer badly from it... still hope that one day they will reform and stop this Hellyeah BS.

brandon i agree with you about blood for blood being an improvement. past HELLYEAH seemed like hillbilly metal.. i mean its still good but not as good as it should have been, especially when you got high expectations from chad. Both bands are badass live nonetheless
Comparing Hellyeah to Mudvayne is like "apples and oranges!" Two totally different sounding bands! I like the both!

Mudvayne most underrated metal band back in there day. It's 2021 and this album plus ld.50 is better than most new metal now days.
I got to see them back from the dead brother. In my book of metal they are saints.

Idk I always thought they were really popular in their time, at least in my area they were. Still being a relevant band all these years later hardly qualifies as underrated.

That's actually pretty basic. Old thrash metal would do this type of chugging intertwined within their riffs.

One thing always missing in metal is good basework. Most metal bands keep the bass in the background. Like it's just there to make the muted parts sound fuller. Not this band.
You should look more towards progressive metal then. Bands like Obscura, Beyond Creation.

Absolutley amigo. They were in the wrong place at the wrong time sadly. Deftones, Korn, Mudvayne, and in my opinon Incubus are the "Big Four" of that era. Really you could swap Incubus for a few other bands, but i will be damned if I do not admit that "Make Yourself" is an awesome album.

To be completely honest, I actually really love how the video turned out. It kind of matches what's going on in the video and the song. It's messy, musky, smudged, and out of focus. It gives that kind of eerie feel to it and the emotion. Every instrument in this song is brilliant!!❤❤❤

This video was actually made for a contest - All the different angles with bare greenscreen were given out for download, and people were intended to put in their own scenes and mix it. I think there was a prize pack for the winner. That was a couple years ago.. This video was just something simple to submit on Vevo.
