    'Bodies' got all the hype and press, but, in my book, 'Tear Away' will always be the pinnacle of Drowning Pool's contribution to music. Love this song!

    This has to be not only the most underrated metal song of the early 2000s but the most underrated in general. Melodic notes mixed with metal screams are just a sweet spot to the soul man.

      It's funny how Bodies is still actively played in metal pubs/bars, but this song and the album in general fails to get noticed anywhere near as much as it deserves to be. There will never be another Sinner.

      Okay valid point, but Slipknot have made it, Drowning Pool is still growing so why diss Ryan for carrying on Drowning pool if he can bring forward them and still do what Dave was bringing to metal, Even if Dave is not here to witness it, So I guess my valid point is that Dave legacy is living through Drowning pool with Ryan and the rest of the band, like Slipknot is carrying on and living the legacy of paul.

    • @ananivelchev2956
      @ananivelchev2956 8 років тому +57

      They are living the legacy because this was their first album without Gray and he was a key member and co-founder of the band. It's the same with Slayer and Jeff Hanneman, Avenged Sevenfold and The Revand etc.

    I don't know about anyone else but this song doesn't sound egotistical at all. It sounds (at least to me) like he was a very happy and trusting person at one point in his life but he was crush and betrayed by people he thought were his friends leaving him only to care for himself. He realized that being overly trusting gets you no where and the only person he needs to care about is himself. Sadly I know how that feels, I bet i'm not the only person who has.

I interpret it as being so lost being so hurt in turn becoming so depressed and numb that no one else matters anymore. When this song came on our internal speaker on the truck it really helped pacify negative thoughts about things that happened. It wasn't that I didn't really care, but the song somehow helped me process the many thoughts I had about the things I really cared deeply about.

It's like if David Draiman or Serj Tankian or Corey Taylor died, and the bands replaced them with anybody else it just wouldn't be right. If Linkin Park tries to find a new singer it won't be Linkin Park, like the magic is gone. Dave was one of those irreplaceable ones too.

    The Guitar solo at around 3:00, literally brought tears to my eyes and made me feel that warm tingle run down my neck and back. My spirit for a moment felt as though the guitarist was channeling some divine energy that he transformed into Audio form, and the way he plays it's looks that way to me the way he tilts his head and body upwards and moves.. Beautiful.

I was in a hostel with one guy from Mexico City, one guy from Japan, and myself from Florida. This song broke the awkward silence as we didn't speak the same languages. I just remember we were sitting on bean bag chairs and there was nothing else in the room or on the walls except for a small TV on a tiny table. Good memories looking back, but I was broke as hell the whole time.

    The whole "Sinner" album was amazing! Bodies was just the most marketable but I always felt like there were so many greater tracks on that album.

      The thing I noticed about Sinner is that every track kind of sounds the same, and I mean that in a serious way. There’s a lot of things that are repeated on a lot of the tracks, also there’s a trend with the lyrics and choruses in each song where any specific verse is kind of just repeated twice throughout the whole song. These don’t have any negative impacts for me against the songs or the albums, but they’re just things I’ve observed after having listened to Sinner so much. That said, I love the album. All the songs are super catchy and heavy; it’s a great and essential nu metal album.
      Sucks Dave Williams died. I think Drowning Pool might have had some good success after Sinner if he hadn’t died. Instead they’ve just gone through replacement singers over the decades and really haven’t been relevant unfortunately
