In this video I am using the download program P1 from the smart ThinQ app, which is the default download Cycle in this dishwasher.
These download cycles are additional program cycles other than those available on the machine which can be selected on the control panel.
At a time, onlly one download program cycle can be downloaded through the app and used.

When did you buy your Dishwasher and what is the model?
Have you filled enough salt, say about a kilogram, the very first time?
Sometimes in a new dishwasher, the salt refill indicator light is ON for a few cycles initially and then goes off. If your machine is new and you have filled sufficient salt, then wait for a few cycles.
If the light is still is ON, then call the company technician. There could be some problem with the indicator switch.

Hi Renugha, Sorry to note that you have not been able to use the dishwasher. Getting good cleaning in dishwasher depends on a lot of factors like water quality, placement of utensils, program cycle chosen, type of detergent, etc.

The balcony painting looked great! ....I have newly purchased the same dishwasher n wanted to know what are the go-to cycles ... Favourite cycle... Favourite for soiled vessels... Favourite for regular load... When is the steam option to be used... Eco versus auto?. Presently I'm finding a lot of relief with the turbo cycle n is my favourite cos of is relatively short cycle... I do express as well but I just seem to find the dishes slightly Soapy

You can choose cycles depending on the type of load. I know some long program durations are a put off but remember long programs consume less water and less power. In fact eco uses the least power and water. Turbo and Express are short cycles, best recommended for moderate and lightly soiled mixed loads respectively. Turbo consumes more power and water than Eco and Auto. Turbo and Express does not have drying as part of cycle, you have keep door open for a while to complete the drying. For heavily soiled dishes, Intensive is the best. The manual mentions the recommended cycles for the type of loads in page 28.
About getting soapy dishes on Express cycle, you've to be very careful while using the detergent as the program being too short, more detergent if used, it will not be fully utilised, thus leaving soapy dishes. Same is the case, about tablets. Tablets are better not used in Turbo and Express cycles.

Hi Aditi, thanks for sharing. Actually water should be added with salt the first time. I don't know how the technician added rinse aid instead of water. Hopefully nothing should happen. You could try adding water in salt compartment now. If you find any problem due to this adding rinse aid in salt compartment, please call LG and ask them to rectify the same without any cost. Thanks.

You cannot control the temperature. Depending on the program selected, the temperature is selected (45-70 deg C). All programs except pre wash, is done in hot water only.

Ma’am I am planning to buy a dishwasher and your videos are of great help. As you have already used Bosch could you please tell me what is the average life of a dishwasher if I have to use it on regular basis with the minimum possible cycle? And how much it increases your electricity bill?
Hi Prachi, that's a good question.
If you use the dishwasher daily at least once , your electricity bill will be anywhere between ₹250 to ₹300.
A dishwasher used regularly and well maintained and taken care of should last for minimum 10 years.
Good video! For Cleaning milk vessel , can I use a 30 minute cycle. Or is a lot get cycle required ? How many minutes cycle works for cleaning milk vessel ?
Depends. Sometimes it gets cleaned in short cycle. And at times, it does not get fully cleaned even in long program. But generally if you keep the utensil soaked in water till loading, and place it at the right place in the machine, and your water is quite soft, it gets cleaned in 30 min cycle. Otherwise you will need to use longer cycle. Thanks.

Hello Bhuvana. I follow your videos and based on your comparison of Bosch and LG dishwasher, i bought LG though I was considering Bosch initially. After a lot of permutation and combination I can use the machine efficiently. However I have some queries:
a) Has the electricity bill gone up after you shifted from Bosch to LG due to long washing cycles? I can see that LG is consuming close to 10 units/day.
b) I have vinod triply kadhais. No matter what permutation combination of cycle and detergent I try, I am not able to get rid of oil stains that comes from frying fish or spices- usually towards the upper rim of the inner surface. Any tips of what I might be doing wrong as I saw your Vinod kadhais and they come out spotless.

Hi Semanti, Sorry for the delayed reply. Firstly I want to say here that I do not have the LG machine with me now. I had it from a friend to use for a few months last year during which I tried it out extensively and shot videos.
Answers to your queries point wise -
a) I did not find any visible difference in power consumption between LG and Bosch. Your mention about 10 units per day appears very much high. How did you arrive at this? Assuming even two cycles per day, it should not be more than 2 or 3 units. Only turbo and express cycles or regular use of steam consume more power. Long cycles (Eco) consume the lowest power. Power consumption is not related to the length of the cycle. My experience showed that for around 30 cycles (long and short mixed) the consumption is around 40 units per month. So you will need to recheck this clearly.
b) Thanks for enquiring about the Kadhais. Brown ring in the upper rim of inside gets formed in deep frying. Whichever program you choose, this does not get fully cleaned in a dishwasher. But it definitely gets soft and it becomes easy to scrub off with a scotch brite or steel wool. This is what I prefer to do. This is best done after each wash, otherwise the brown ring will become darker and more difficult to remove. I don't like to let this happen. Even the deep round casserole which had heavy burnt residue, these have only become soft but not removed. We have to remember that dishwasher does not involve any scrubbing but only spraying of hot water and soap water. Even in hand washing, hard residue has to be scrubbed for cleaning. So if you put very heavily used kadhai, we can expect 70 to 80 to 90% cleaning depending on proper placement and correct program selection. In the end, we will need to scrub off the balance residue. This I think is still better than total hand washing. I will try to post a video soon on the best cleaning one can get in kadhais and what are the shortcomings. Thanks.
@@BhuvanaAdi Regarding the power consumption - Sorry I made a mistake while typing. We see about 2.5 to 3.5 units per cycle (Auto and Intensive with Steam and High Temp rinsing). This we checked out from the metre reading after every run for a few days and then subtracting the base consumption. And we have consumed about 70-90 units higher in a month than our usual before the dishwasher.
Regarding the brown ring in the Kadhais - We discovered (fairly by chance) that placing a heavily soiled kadhai on the top rack really improves cleaning. In fact the brown ring is totally cleaned when placed in the upper rack. We also realised that we were using a little less detergent than required (1.5 to 2 tablespoons as compared to 3 tablespoons now). These two really improved the washing quality for kadhai. The other utensils were never a problem - we actually were surprised how clean glass and steel utensils come out of the dishwasher.

@Hemant Giri, Yes quite a number of people have faced the heater problem and they have either got it repaired (under warranty) or replaced or returned. But a lot more people have reported the issue of machine not resuming from same point after a power cut. Some people have also reported issue of salt indicator light not working. I got a chance to use the machine from a friend last year for two months during which I used it extensively and made the videos. I did not face any issues during the period of my usage. So I am not sure whether these problems are in the current lot of machines. Only LG can clarify this. So you must check on these issues with LG to your full satisfaction before going ahead.
I am having my Bosch for more than 8 years and still using it. Although it is not the latest model as compared to LG, my personal experience is that it is generally reliable and trouble free. Thanks.
Thanks for your informative video. We have also bought LG dishwasher. Yesterday the LG demo person filled the salt (1 kg) and some water in the salt area. The machine 1st ran on rinse mode and then auto mode (with utensils).
Now salt light is blinking. Do we have to refill salt again and how much salt goes in one time. Also do we add water with salt or just salt henceforth.
Our water is soft and setting of salt is at H2 (default setting). Also we used tablet in the auto mode function yesterday. Please guide
Hi Ishan, can you see water till the top, when you open the salt compartment? If not you may have to add water till it overflows as the person may not have filled enough water.
If the salt indicator light is still on, add another half kilo of salt even if the water overflows.
After this the indicator light should go off. If not wait for 2-3 cycles, by which it should go off. Even after this if the salt indicator light does not go off, can the service people.
In future whenever salt needs to be refilled when the indicator comes on, you have to fill only salt. No need of adding water.

My brand new LG dishwasher is not cleaning nicely, leaving all stains, and even food smells. I have tried all combination programs of washing, plus changed levels of softner and rinseaid, plus tried different types powder: Finish, Fortune, IFB, still nothing. I never put vessels in with leftovers, always rinse nicely before loading. The net is nice and clean, no dirt at all. Right now, the salt is loaded, on level one. The rinseaid is on level one. What am I doing wrong? My vessels NEVER come out all shiny like yours, I am repenting buying a dishwasher:-( Lg service guys are not able to come...
Hi Pallavi, try one cycle of cleaning the dishwasher by putting 3 tbsp citric acid in detergent compartment and run the machine empty on Auto cycle. Hope you have opened the mesh and cleaned the filter inside. Hope you are not changing detergents on a daily basis. To test any detergent, try the same brand for at least 10 days on different programs. You will know which program gives better cleaning. Hope your water hardness is known and salt setting is adequate. I am using H1 and L1 setting as my water is fairly soft. Keep the machine door open after wash till it becomes dry. Thanks.
Why don’t you just lightly scrub it before you load the dishwasher? That’s how I’ve always used my dishwashers. Everything comes out clean. This seems just a waste of energy.
Madam. I saw your video. Excellent arrangement of the vessels plus explanation is superb. I purchased samsung dishwasher last week but the problem I am facing is after cleaning the vessels in the dishwasher, it is watery. Can you please help.me to solve this issue. There is one button for hygiene and other button for tablet. If I press hygiene button tablet will not work and vice versa. I didn't get any demo for this model(it is not clear like your video). @subashini lakshmanan To avoid watery vessels, open the dishwasher door slightly after program ends and leave it like that for 15 minutes. After that check the vessels.

Hi Rashmi, I have used both Bosch and LG and have got equally good cleaning in both. Getting good cleaning is dependent on lots of factors like water quality, program, soiling of dishes, detergent, etc, not just on dishwasher model.
LG has got more advanced features but please note that many buyers and users have reported several issues/problems in LG, the main being absence of auto resume from same point after power cut. Some other problems are also reported by many users.
And LG is priced quite high. So in case you want to buy LG, please clarify fully on above issues before deciding.
Final decision of which brand to buy is your individual decision, but I can share with my personal experience of using Bosch for more than 8 1/2 years that it is a very reliable dishwasher. Bosch has been making dishwashers for more than 50 years now and is a very reputed German brand.

I am seriously thinking about buying this dishwasher. I do have a few questions.
Can it clean aluminium kadhai and aluminium cooker, without damaging them? If yes, what setting to use for washing them?
Is one full load of dishwasher able to take care of all utensils used in one average day - 4 member family? - 3 meals, cooking utensils and cups/mugs as well. OR Do you have to run the dishwasher at least twice to wash all of that?
Hi Padmaja, First of all sorry for the delay. Actually this LG is a 14 place setting dishwasher and can wash quite a lot of dishes, utensils, cups, cutlery. I have posted several videos on this dishwasher. I am sharing the playlist below -

If you watch all or some of the other videos as well, you will get an idea of the space available in the dishwasher and how much can be accommodated. We are also a family of 5 and on most days, I was able to wash the day's utensils in one cycle. On some days, I had to run two cycles. So I think I ran about 45 to 50 cycles in a month (roughly - not counted) on the LG. The same thing I do with my Bosch too. Whether your entire day's lot can be washed in one cycle is dependent on the type of utensils, type of cooking, etc. Possibly it could, in your case.
In case you decide to go ahead with LG, just remember one thing. It is a great dishwasher with amazing and advanced features, but many buyers have reported one issue that after a power cut, it resumes from the beginning. If you don't have power cuts, this may not affect you but in case you have power cuts at your home, this could bother greatly. I thought I should caution you on this. Thanks.
Manufacturers do not recommend washing aluminium in dishwasher. But if you have soft water, you can wash them in quick cycle without them getting affected. So in LG, it can best be tried out in Turbo cycle. Thanks.

Hi Ezhil Arasi, Tupperware is quite heat resistant. Depends whether the other plastic containers too are high temperature resistant. In that case you can combine with cooker and oily containers.

Hi Ramamani, I had a chance to use this dishwasher for 2 months. During this period, there were no issues and it worked perfectly. I am not aware of the quality of after sales support from LG as I have not availed of the same. They have a large service network and I presume it must be good. Thanks.
Mam I want to know whether it is safe to clean chimney filters in the bosch dishwasher using intensive kadai mode? I usually clean them before it gets too greasy. Will the dishwasher get affected? Can it be placed with other vessels?
Hi, a very good unusual query. First of all I would like to say that i do not have a chimney, else I would have definitely tried this out.
But since you say that you clean them before it gets too greasy, and I think they being steel, you can wash in intensive kadai mode. I don't think the dishwasher will get affected. But only make sure to check and clean the drain filter after washing the filters.

Hi Parinita, there is no compulsion that you use the consumables of same brand always. As long as they are of some regular brand it's ok.
I think most will ge interested to use either Quickwash or the shortest time cycle which dries up the vessels.

Wen power is off in the middle then after getting power timer is not starting where it stopped, it is starting from the start.. have you observed this? Are there any settings required?
Hi Vijaya Lakshmi, No there is no setting for this. Actually it should resume from the same point, not from the start, but a lot of users and my viewers have reported this issue in recent lot of LG dishwashers. For more clarification on this issue, you will need to contact LG service. Thanks.

LG has higher rinse temperatures. So please try in Express cycle 38 min or turbo 59 min. If it gets discoloured, don't wash them. I have tried them in these cycles and they come out OK. It also depends on the water quality. And please do not combine these metals in same cycle to avoid reaction. And put them on the top rack. Thanks.

Hi ..Ma'am I have been using this lg dishwasher since last two weeks..I have noticed the chai pot and milk pot are not totally cleaned..Only some white Marks are seen on steel utensils. I am using Finnish dishwasher tablets ..should I also use salt and rinse aid..I am confused..I was using the auto mode cycle
If you are getting white marks inspite of using tablets, you have to use rinse aid and salt as your water must be hard. Fill rinse aid and salt and start from small setting like H1 and L1 and based on the cleaning, increase setting if needed. I can understand. If possible try to add a tbsp of citric acid(adjust as per requirement) in the detergent compartment before the rinse begins. This will help to an extent.

Hi, I wouldn't say this is the best in quality. By quality if you mean cleaning efficiency, you can get that in most brands even with limited programs. Quality much depends on water quality.
This LG machine has more features in comparison to other brands. That's all.
But many viewers also have complained about certain issues.

These dishwashers use condensation drying instead of drying by an heating element. So it is better to time your washing such that you open it soon after the cycle ends.

Actually it is unfair to compare both models (I have mentioned this in my video) as they are different, features wise. LG is the latest model with more features and Bosch has not brought their latest models in India. But LG is also priced higher than Bosch If I had to buy, for features, I will buy LG. We can get good cleaning in both Bosch and LG dishwashers. Remember Bosch is a market leader in dishwashers.

hi mam, apart from descaling, how to clean entire dishwasher, because bosch is selling separate product like descaler and cleaner, and the general recommendation is descale 3 months once and use cleaner every month. which product is recommended for cleaning.
There is no need of buying cleaners separately.
Wipe the exteriors regularly and the door seal as well with damp cloth.
Also keep checking the spray arm regularly for any stuck particles, grease or limescale deposits.
You can descale at such times using a descaler.
Clean your drain filters on a regular basis.
I think that should take care of the maintenance of the machine.
I don't do anything other than this.

Hi Srirang, You are right regarding the auto restart, a lot of my viewers recently have reported the same issue ie. the dishwasher does not resume from same point but starts from the beginning after a power cut, which should not be the case. I am not sure whether this is only in one lot or this is a deficiency in the machine. Incidentally, I did not face this issue when I got the opportunity to use the machine for two months last year during which I made my videos.
Auto resume feature is a simple and common one which is there in all gadgets nowadays and is a convenient and necessary feature. I think you will need to call LG service to get this issue addressed and clarified. Thanks.

My bosch dishwasher is showing "check water" indicator. We have checked both the ends of inlet & outlet pipes(we cleaned the filters), we checked the spray arms, impeller wheels, and there was no blockage, we tried the reset button however, the machine still shows the "check water" indicator.

Please check the drain line and clean the drain filter. This problem normally occurs if something is stuck on the drain or water pipe line.
Some people have even suggested tilting the machine sideways or backwards. This is however a jugaad and may or may not work.
Keep a cup of vinegar on the top rack and run the auto cycle.
If nothing works, i suggest you call for service. If under warranty it may not cost you. Thanks.

Hi Rajanisunil, Dishwasher manufacturers do not recommend use of aluminium as it tends to get discoloured. But if your water is soft and you use low temperature cycles, then aluminium gets cleaned without discolouration. This is what I have shared in my videos. So if your water quality is good, you can try washing it in low temp cycle. But in the long run I would suggest shifting over to stainless steel which is what I have done. Thanks.

Hi Kalpana, Ensure that the machine is near the Wi Fi. First connect the smartphone to WiFi and download the ThinQ app. You have to first register on the app. After that, just follow the instructions given in the manual. On the app search for device to be connected, follow the menu in choosing the type of machine and then switch on the WiFi on the machine. It should show up on the smartphone. Then you can choose the machine and connect it.

So you should get these clarified from LG before taking a decision to go for it.. Regarding service, I have not had a chance to avail the same. @@swethagiridharan1398 , you can wash the dosa tawa in the dishwasher by placing on the lower rack.
It is better to wash metals like aluminium, silver, brass etc in the low temperature cycle as in high temperatures they will get tarnished.

Then you can choose the machine and connect it.

Hi, it's better to avoid washing these in the dishwasher as at high temperature these metals react with the detergent and tarnish them.
You can ocasionally wash a couple of them in a low temperature quick wash cycle. But never mix 2-3 metals in one cycle.

Hi, if your water is hard, you've to use salt, which is for water softening.
Rinse aid is for giving spotless cleaning and drying. It is optional. But again better to use if water is hard.
If you use tablet, which has both rinse aid and salt to some extent, you can skip using rinse aid and salt, if you have soft water in your locality.

Hi Madhavi, just check your salt and rinse aid setting, if it's adjusted based on your water hardness. Because cleaning very much depends on water hardness.
Also try to choose the correct program based on degree of soiling of dishes.
Place heavily soiled dishes in the lower rack and at places where the spray arm has more nozzles thus spraying more water.
I think if you follow all this, you should get good cleaning.

You can open the dishwasher slightly after 10-15 minutes and then open it fully after some time, by which time the water would have totally drained.

Please adjust your rinse aid settings based on water hardness. This will solve your problem.

Hi Lavanya, thanks for sharing the pics. You have not mentioned which program you have washed these in. I would suggest you wash plates in low temperature cycles like Express or Eco, without steam or high temperature options as these plates are not used for cooking and hence don't need a high temperature wash. You could also try reducing the rinse aid setting by one level.

Thank you for nice informative videos,I have the same model and require an advice.I used the same finish dishwasher detergent that you used in this video,but in my case i had very bad white coating (stains)over the utensils after the wash(specially on glassware)every time. I had to wash it off with vinegar but still some marks were left and my utensils have lost their beauty.Kindly tell me how to remove this issue.
The dishwasher works really well when finish gel is used but the problem arises while using finish powder.
Hi Kamalinder, you have not written about your water quality and salt and rinse aid setting. If these are all fine, then you should be getting good cleaning. From what you have mentioned just try increasing the rinse aid setting by one level for a few cycles. If that does not solve the problem then the problem could be hard water, you could add about 1 to 2 tbsp of citric acid in detergent compartment (along with detergent). Quantity of citric acid is just for indication and you could reduce or increase based on the result.

Hi Sreekala, please adjust your salt setting based on your water hardness. Because you get white stains due to hard water, which can be avoided by correct salt and rinse aid setting based on your water hardness.

Looking at your video I bought LG dishwasher. But now I think this is just waste of money in India. I use intensive cycle which is 3+ hour. We have lot of power fluctuations because of power fluctuations it gets restart from beginning not from the point where it was stopped.
In india after every half hour power goes off for 5-10min. One day it took 8+hour to finish my cycle because of this power restart problem.
I will say, do not buy this dishwashing. LG should change their design for indian customers or just stop selling this in India.

Hi Family Creative Fun, Sorry to hear this. The manual says it will resume the cycle. But what I feel is that every cycle has wash, rinse and dry each with some duration, and if power goes off during wash then it resumes from start of wash, if power goes off during rinse, it resumes from start of rinse and so on.
I wish to state here that I am not promoting or affiliated with any brand. I have just shared my dishwashing experience in LG and Bosch with the intention that it could help others. While it has helped many people who are now happy using dishwashers, it is sad and unfortunate that it has not benefitted you. You have every right to contact them, complain to them and return the machine if it is not performing to your satisfaction or as promised. Even if they say your power outages are the reason, you can ask them to show the cycle resume after power cut and explain the same. Thanks.
This is ur misconception bro machine will start from where it stopped after powercut like a music player u pause the song stops I have this same LG model in my home use 59 minutes washing program which is called turbo wash it is quick & time saving.
@@more.pankhh sir plz check it once. Lg team had visited our house and confirmed that this is problem with this product but they say it is designed it in that way for hygiene purpose.
For smaller cycle bosch is enough then why to buy lg with more cost. They have the power failure problem so they have to fix it.
@@BhuvanaAdi thank you for response. But this is true what I have wrote here. We have power outage in our area after every half an hour for around 5-10 min. With this it doesn't work well. Twice it had happened that even after 12 hours dishwasher was not done with the current logic.
If no power outage then happy with the machine performance.
@@more.pankhh smaller cycle works well for less soiled vessels. I use intensive with steam for more soiled vessels. Which takes 3hr plus. And there is problem with the model which is confirmed by LG service team.
