Hi friends,
This video shows washing of a mixed load of dishes which includes melamine, steel, ceramic and a few plastic. The dishes are light to moderately soiled. Hence I have chosen the DELICATE program cycle without any additional options, as this program is suitable for lightly and moderately soiled utensils.
Many of you may feel that the dishes look clean already, but actually they are soiled. We in our family follow the practice of washing the plates and cups before putting them in the sink. Also every time used utensils are put in the sink, I always fill them fully with water until loading in the dishwasher. Thus the dishes remain soaked. I empty the water before loading. This helps in removing the grease and giving a better cleaning result. And hence viewers always find the dishes clean, in my video.
Actually my advice to one and all is to follow this practice to get good cleaning results.

I have just bought LG dishwasher from an exclusive LG store .
The feedback is ..
1.Delivery of the product ..
Next day 👍🏻
( You have to done the necessary plumbing requirments before the techie comes to install)
2. Installation...
The technician came within 3 days. Installed it, (I used IFB detergent and rinse aid. Didnt pour the Salt as the techie said its not required if the water is soft)
started the very first load of soiled utensils as per his instructions 👍🏻
3. The cycle got over in 2 hrs.. was too excited to check my washed utensils...
Plates, bowls, spoons etc all tableware wer shning like new..
Now the 2 lit milk pot ... It had a few particals of the detergent on the inner bottom surface and the malai layer was not as cleaned as you get with hands.
Tea vessels were also partly soiled.
Cooker was cleaned.
So I Wasnt happy with the performance. The techie suggested to wash on some other programmes.. so we tried those too.. but the prob of detergent particals and partly soiled pots still the same.
The techie came for the second time and sggested to use FINISH TAB instead of detergent.
He tried all the other programmes also ...
We tried almost all the possible settings... Using a tablet ..now no soap was left but tea pots were still soiled.

I have purchased this LG dishwasher after watching and analysing so many reviews . Everyone said they are very much happy.. with any brand of dishwasher.
Friends honestly speaking Im not very much happy as i need to clean a few utensils even after washing them in a DW.
If anyone can rectify my problem.. plz suggest .. as its very disappointing and frustrating.. you all can understand.

I have no experience of using IFB so I cannot comment on that. But IFB has been in dishwashers for nearly 2 decades and lot of people use it happily.
LG is a very advanced machine with lot of features. But it is also priced more than others by at least 15000 to 20000. And many buyers have reported many issues with the dishwasher. So in case you are buying LG, please check/clarify all doubts/issues before deciding.
I am using Bosch for nearly 9 years now. Based on my personal experience I would definitely recommend that. But don't go just by my recommendation. Final choice should be your personal decision,based on lot of factors like availability, price, budget, brand preference, service backup in your city/town, etc. Please watch these 2 videos before you buy -

Hi I am assuming it is 4 adults. Of course, much depends on the amount of cooking and number of times cooking is done. One load should be sufficient, but in case not, you can operate 3 cycles in 2 days. Thanks.
Hy ma'am...the melamine plates in my godrej dishwasher shows some dried water splash marks..though it doesnt occur in all the plates but most of them.. .it could be soap stain also, i cant differentiate as the plate is white in colour..its clearly visible..i wish i could show u the picture ...im so annoyed of it because i have to have wash the plates with water again inorder to remove those stain..it doesnt come out squeaky clean as i can see in your video..i dont see such problem in any other vessel but only in melamine dinner plates..i dont use too much detergent and rinse aid is also over but still showing this problem..theres enough room for water to splash in plates..i have checked in all the cycle, almost in every cycle i find this strange problem...please suggest what to do..i get dissapointed everytime i see stained plates. .thankyou!!
Hi Demi Jo, sorry for my delayed reply.
First of all let me tell you that plastics and melamine do not dry completely as compared to other cookware like stainless steel, glass, ceramic etc.
Once the program is completed, leave the door ajar for a while before opening the dishwasher fully, by which time the plastic and melamine would have dried off.
What appears as stain to you could just be water droplets and streaks, which could be reduced to some extent by rinse aid. Add rinse aid in the rinse aid compartment and set the level based on your water hardness.
Please let me know what happens after following the above.

Hi Mam, thanks for all your videos on LG dishwasher . Very helpful. I recently got one . I have a few woes though.
1)white spots of water on dried dishes - so far I have used intensive mode with steam and extra dry, turbo with high temp and extra dry .
Hard water and rinse aid settings are H1 and L4. My hardness of water is only 40 to 60.
2) tea and milk utensils not at all cleaned in turbo mode. Intensive mode it got cleaned 90%.
Rest all utensils are getting cleaned properly.
3) Can aluminium discoloration harm us ?
4) we are using salt detergent and rinse aid provided by the installation guy . But those are not the famous brands . Which is the best one to use to get desired results ?

Since your water is very soft, your setting of salt is correct. Actually you can even use without salt, by setting to H0. But H1 is ok.
L4 is too high. You can set rinse aid to L1.
Turbo mode is only for light to medium soiled dishes. It is not suitable for milk and tea stained utensils. You have to remember to wash them only in other program cycles.
You can try either Fortune or Finish. My first choice would be Finish detergent.
Change the settings and try out other programs. Also try few programs without Steam option.
You should get good cleaning results.

@@BhuvanaAdi hi mam, I tried the intensive mode and auto. Auto mode gives best results in terms of wash.But white spots still occur.that is compromising the quality of wash. Current settings are H1 L2. Any suggestions to overcome white spots? Thanks mam

Yes, you can open. If you open, the dishwasher will stop functioning. If you close, it continues working. Thanks.

Why don't you use the steam option in LG ?
As per my expereince of using LG and Bosch, both of them give good cleaning and drying and also for ceramic plates and glassware.
I did not use steam in this cycle because some of the items were delicate. Some cycles like Auto, Eco, Turbo, etc have the option of choosing steam. I did use them for other cycles but I have not uploaded videos of those.

@@BhuvanaAdi thanks a lot, I was seeing LG official video on UA-cam in which it was claiming that steam is "powerful yet gentle" for glassware and delicates items. And it's user manual which I downloaded also mentions it has steam preselected for the delicates programming.
Was wondering have you tried it on glasses or ceramic and did it harm, or you haven't tried it yet out of precaution to not damage the delicates.

Actually, when LG launched it, I think only they had it and hence they would have definitely highlighted it in their videos. But for similar vessels in similar programs I did not find much difference in cleaning between steam and non steam cleaning. May be because many programs have rinse at 50 deg + temperatures and at such temperatures, steam vapour will be produced even in normal machines.
Regarding the mention in the manual, it says about steam option being available for choosing and not preselected.
But for most glass and ceramic which we use for food, tea, coffee are strong enough to withstand steam. The branded ones mention whether these are dishwasher safe/microwave safe, etc.
As long as you avoid putting poor quality glass and ceramic, others can withstand steam. I have washed Borosil, IKEA, La Opala and other glass and ceramics with steam option and they have not got damaged.

Yes you can keep them without much cleaning. It has sensors and will do the cleaning based on the degree of soiling. Just remove solid food particles, if any, and ensure the plates and vessels do not get very dry if you are not loading immediately. Thanks.

Dishwasher technology is similar and all branded dishwashers are almost equally good. Some may have more features. I have used Bosch and LG and found both to be good. LG has more features but it is also costlier. And some of my viewers have reported some problems issues with LG. Sales and Service of most brands are good, but personal experiences could differ. Running cost depends on many issues like number of programs used, number of times used per day and mainly the type of water (hard or soft). If water is hard, then consumption of consumables will increase. Even then total cost of running a dishwasher could be anywhere between ₹500 to ₹800 and is less than a domestic help. Thanks.

i have same LG dishwasher. but the stainless plate(medium size) getting bent in the lower rack. i was amazed to see how you have put so many stainless steel plates of all sizes, do you have the same problem, getting bent?. if not , pl suggest how to avoid. Thanks.
Hi Usha, I am not able to understand what you mean by getting bent. Is the upper rack in the lowest position by any chance? I am sure you are aware that the upper rack can be set at three positions (levels). Try raising it to the highest level and you will be able to fit larger plates. The manual on Page 34 mentions the different sizes of plates that can be kept when the upper rack is kept in three positions. Hope this helps. Thanks.
@@BhuvanaAdi Thanks Bhuvana for your quick reply. i was saying that stainless steel plate which we use to cover sambar,rasam, poriyal etc, its not thali plate or tiffin plate. the edge or rim of the plate becomes uneven after putting it in the dishwasher "Lower rack". all new miscellenous plates have become uneven. my upper rack is really upper. i don't think its because of that. probably the temparature of the hot water? dont know. i try to put them in the upper rack. there no problem. however thanks so much for your support. all of your videos are very useful. Exactly you've said it Usha. Now I understand what you mean. Low gauge SS plates used as lids can get bent at high temperatures. Try washing them in low temperature cycles like the Quick wash or Eco.
If there are bigger in diameter, lower the upper rack to fit there.

Madam I purchased LG dishwasher before one week ...I started using it .after 3 washes I tried auto cycle with limited vessels .only .
The water that I use is bore water.obviousky it's hard. I had set to salt and rinse aid level as H2 and L2. After one hour machine stops and the panel indicates B E. I switched off and when I opened the machine it's full of water drop let's. I used fortune tablet. Machine is not working a present. Even LG service personnel is not responding. Please suggest how to go about it. I am frustrated and feel sorry for buying LG dishwasher. I purchased to minimise my cervical spondylitis pain, but it had only aggravated it.

Hi Anu Radha, BE error could be due to oversudsing caused by using any normal dish wash liquid. But since you're using Fortune detergent, this should not be the reason.
Another reason is the machine may not be leveled properly. Level the machine properly.
Do this and then switch ON the machine.

Hi Ayush, try to find out the exact water hardness from a food and water testing lab. Once you know the correct hardness, you can set the salt and rinse aid settings accordingly.
Before doing that, you can for now try increasing the settings by one level.
Also, try using detergent suitable for hard water like Vim, Fortune etc.

In that case, please change the brand of detergent like Fortune or Vim which is more suitable for hard water.

@Sateesh Neela, Mee vere comment kuda choosanu. If you are using softener and tablets, then you can keep salt setting and rinse aid setting to zero and try. A few trial and errors will only help you to arrive at the correct level suited to your softened water. Thanks.

It depends on your water quality. If your water is soft to medium hard, you can use without salt in case you use tablets regularly, but for that adjust your salt setting to H00

Hi Vivek, if your water is hard, then try increasing the setting by one level else try increasing rinse aid setting. Don't try both together. Change rinse aid setting first and find out if there is a difference.

Hi Prasanna, sorry for the delayed reply though I saw your earlier messages too. I was a bit tied up.
I can understand that during this lockdown getting consumables for the dishwasher is really challenging. It's just now that the online sales have begun in some places, yet most of these items are out of stock.
I've been somehow managing with detergent, but I too was not having salt till last week. But now I ordered salt online and got it from Amazon.
Regarding detergent many of my viewers have been asking me for suggestions for a substitute for detergent.
This led me to experiment with certain items which I researched from the internet. I even wrote to a few viewers who e-mailed to me regarding this.
It's a simple thing - use a drop or two of Pril/Vim liquid and 1-2 tsp of baking soda depending on load, in the detergent compartment. Add a tsp of citric acid in case your water is hard.
Try this and you can get a simple and temporary substitute for your dishwashing needs in the dishwasher. Hope this helps.
Please let me know whether this works for you. The other users have benefited by this.
One word of caution - use just 1-2 (don't use more than this) drops of Pril/Vim liquid, as they form foam which will cause damage to the dishwasher.

Thanks @bhuvana Adi for these informational videos but I recently bought this dishwasher and since day first machine is giving low salt error even if the chamber is filled completely, the Lg is not even able to fix the issue or providing any support for the same.
Hi Mohit, sorry that you have encountered such a problem. Just let me know if you filled water in the chamber while filling salt for the very first time? If yes, then the problem could be with the machine. Since it is new and under warranty its their job to rectify or replace the machine if faulty.
@@BhuvanaAdi Hi mame you dont have to be sorry, Actually its the dealer fault who delivered me a faulty piece and later ignored all my calls and requests, but also when Lg technicians visited me for repair they were unable to fix or find the cause of the issue I am coordinating with them and due to ongoing pandemic they are not fully operational, Overall the machine is working great and we are using it daily for atleast 2 times with full load, the decision of buying this particular model was taken after watching your elaborative reviews, so but would like to thank you again for that.
Have you explored any handier alternative to the traditional grass broom? Ever tried the Dyson cordless vacuum cleaner?
No I have not tried any cordless vacuum cleaner till date.

@@will-kf1li Yes have seen it. Quite useful as a vacuum cleaner, though on the expensive side. But it takes more time than a broom...so for specifically floors i feel Robotic vacuum cleaners or a cordless stick with vacuum plus mopping function is needed.
For other needs Dyson seems quite good

The difference is just the colour. One is Black and the other one is silver.

But remember that LG dishwasher does not resume from where it stopped in case of a power outage.
If you do not have power cuts in your area, then it is not a problem.

Thank you for the series of very informative videos. The LG dishwasher looks quite impressive but I was reading in another review that if power trips, the machine does not remember where it was in the wash cycle. Is it true that the machine will start the cycle all over again once power is back?
Hi Anubhuti, yes that's what I hear from all the users who write to me. When I used it last year for two months, I did not encounter the problem.
Actually it's supposed to start from where it left, at least from the start of whichever operation it was at the time of power outage, like wash/rinse/dry; but looks like it does not happen, though the manual says so.

You are right, I have purchased lg dfb 424 fp model. I am also facing same problem. It is very disappointing to purchase such a costly item bcz doesn't have auto resume function. I do not understand why this feature is not available in such an advance machine. If you know a hack please share

Hi Kuldeep, thanks for the appreciation. You have indicated that your water is very hard. I would request you to get the hardness tested in a laboratory so that you can gauge it accurately and set the hardness level in the machine correctly. Please remember TDS is different from hardness.
If you are going to use tablet at all times on a permanent basis, then you don't have to use rinse aid and salt as tablet has both rinse aid and salt. But make sure to set the rinse aid and salt level in the dishwasher to zero so that the indicator does not glow.
But remember that dishwasher manufacturers have indicated that the the salt and rinse aid quantity present in tablet is sufficient only for a certain level of hardness (about 26 deg Clarke), and beyond that hardness, we have to use both salt and rinse aid even while using tablet. And accordingly set the salt and rinse aid setting. Hope this helps.

I have emailed you the image of the strip which was inside the wrapper of total hardness check pack. You can use this for publishing in next video. BY using it l came to know that the Hardness is above 375 i.e. l need to set H4. I have also added salt 1Kg by using your guided video which is matches with the instruction book. Hi, you can place it on the floor as I've shown in the video, or you can even place it in the detergent compartment. Either way will work.
@@BhuvanaAdi i used to put finish tablet in detergent compartment. Some soap used to be on vessels. Then after u told me i put it on floor. But still i experience soapy plates and cups. Why is it so. My machine is new. Started using 3 days back. I select turbo cycle and switch off extra dry option. 59 min cycle. I have not put salt and rinse in it. As tablets include salt and rinse.
Since turbo is a short program, and I guess your water is fairly soft, the tablet is not being fully utilised for cleaning the dishes and there is detergent left over on the dishes, because of which you feel the soapiness.
Btw, please tell me what your water hardness is.
Try using tablets in longer cycles.
I've always told in my videos that tablets are not to be used in short cycles.

Hi Meera, Cleaning depends on lot of factors and we can get very good cleaning both in LG and Bosch. Latest model of LG available in India has more features than Bosch but it is also priced higher. Please watch my comparision video which would give you more information.

I'm using Bosch since 8½ years getting very good cleaning of all my dishes including tea and milk utensils. My machine has not given me any problem till date.
Bosch is the global market leader since decades.

Few days back we purchased same model dishwasher, but after using it for 1-2 days we found that some scratches are coming on steel plates that we put in lower tray. We have used both auto and turbo modes and it's same in both.Can you please tell us why scratches are coming? Or guide us on this.

I am surprised to learn about scratches as there is no physical scrubbing. Are the plates too close to each other? Try keeping them with some gap. If still not solved, please share photos on my email, I will try to help. Thanks.

During lock down , i have no dishwasher detergent, what is alternatives?
Hi Asha,
I can understand that with lockdown on, it's very difficult to get dishwasher detergents online. Try in some large supermarkets in your city.
Or you've to try using 1-2 tsp baking soda on top of a drop or two (not more) of vim/any normal liquid (using only vim or any normal dish liquid is not advisable, but a drop or two is ok as mentioned in few answers given on Google search) inside the detergent compartment. Try this. This is the simplest substitute I came across when searching on the net. You can go through yourself and find out. I haven't tried yet as I'm managing by using my detergent sparingly and also by doing hand wash of few lightly soiled dishes.
Another option would be to minimise the use of detergent for every wash so that you can make it last for few more days. If you're using tablet, you can cut into half and use half tablets as I've shown in my jugaad video.
Hope that sale of non essentials too would begin soon.

if power offs in middle of cycle, does it start from beginning? or does it start from where it stopped?
It starts form the beginning of that particular cycle. Let's say the machine has completed rinsing and washing cycles and it's on the middle of drying cycle and the power outage occurs, it will start from the beginning of the drying cycle. Meaning it can go at most around 1 and half hours back, which is disappointing as it consumes extra electricity and water.

One query is that on webpage same model shows 14place setting with one more(3rd) trolley above conventional two trolleys, which is not present in your machine? Or its a diffrent model?
I am too taking about model 'DFB424FP' !! Even its user manual shows 3 trolleys.
And please advice/suggest for long term use (i am counting atleast 10yrs run) which brand is better?(In terms of after sales service and using machine without much trouble/heavy maintenance! )

Hi, LG DFB424FP and Bosch SMS66GW01I do not have 3 racks. They have common manual for many models. IFB Neptune SX1 has 3 racks. But there are lots of complaints about IFB's poor service reputation.
Both LG and Bosch are good machines which will give you long trouble free service. You could choose either of the two depending on
1) Your budget
2) Sales and service in your city/town.

Thanks for the information Ma'am. Got same model. I'm using tablets still the indicator lights up for salt and rinse aid? Can you please help why. Here water is not at all hard.
Hi Pooja, looks like you are using only tablets. Even then your salt compartment should not be empty. If you don't plan to use any detergent, then keep both salt and rinse aid setting at 0. Unless you do that, the indicator will light up.

Is it resuming after power cut?
Of late there are complaints from many of my viewers that the machine does not start from where it stopped, after the power resumes. It goes to the start of the cycle.
Please check this with the company before you decide to buy. I did not face this problem last year when i used it for 2 months.

Hi, there are different brands of detergents and tablets available online. It depends on your dishwasher and what the manufacturer recommends. Most importantly it is dependent on the water quality, i.e hardness of water in your locality. Because a tablet/detergent suitable for one may not be suitable for the other. So you have to decide by trial and error.
You can try one after another to finally arrive at what suits your water and type of dishes.

Hi Bhuvana!I recently purchased the LG dishwasher. I find that there are water droplets even if I use the extra dry feature on the walls of the dishwasher. Is that normal? Do we need to wipe the inside after the cycle?Kindly advice.
Hi Asita, slight wetness is normal immediately after wash cycle is completed and the door is opened. If you open the machine after 20-30 minutes it would be dry by then. No need of wiping inside.

@@BhuvanaAdi I had a full load of vessels today, so washed it with the 25g of finish detergent powder and auto cycle with steam.The dishes came back with white stains all over.What could be the reason? Have been using L2 and H2 setting for rinse aid and salt. Had been alternating with fortune tablets and finish detergent and never had this problem so far. This was the first time I used so much detergent. Could it be because of that? The vessels did not lose the white sheen even after washing with vim liquid afterwards. The dishwasher door also looks so cloudy and patchy today.
@@asitahaq7453 This is mainly because of hard water. If you are getting white stains, increase H2 to H3 and observe after some days. Also you can reduce the detergent usage. Thanks.

Not necessarily. They can be kept open if you're washing bigger ladles.

I have family of 4 how many times I need to run a dishwasher in a day?
Depends on cooking, utensils used and the number of dishes. One cycle should be sufficient. Otherwise you could need 3 cycles in two days. Thanks.

Yes Swetha you can wash these in intensive cycle, I am sure. I have washed the iron stand in long cycle as iron withstands high temperature. But the burner is brass, so try once it twice in long high temperature cycle and if there is no discoloration you can continue in it, else switch over washing in quick cycles which runs on low temperature.

Hello mam, I have been asking few questions and your reply are really helpful. I have one more question. In my new LG dishwasher I am getting very thin dirty layer (visible whith random patches of clean surface and visible when you turn vessels to some angle against light) in stainless steel . Looks like dirty waters layer after drying remains in the vassals. Water hardness is around 200 and i have set hardness to H2 . Also undried water feels very soppy on vessels Any suggestions.
Hi Ravi, first of all I want to know whether this happens in all the program cycles and on vessels in both the racks.
If you have seen this happen only in short cycles, there is nothing to worry about this. In the short cycle the rinse time being less, the water with dirt etc. which is supposed to get washed away settles in some vessels.
You can just drain it off and if required rinse it under the tap.
Also you can reduce your rinse aid setting to avoid getting the soapy feeling on dishes.
Please specify your problem so that I can address the issue accordingly. You can share the pics of the same to my email so that I understand the problem better.

Hi, agar aapko acha aur bada machine chaahiye toh LG DFB424FP latest aur advanced model hai, jo baki modelon se kaafi bada hai, 14 place setting ka hai. 1 place setting matlab one person ka table setting jisme bada plate, chota plate, cups, glass, spoons, forks fit hote hain. Aise 14 place setting matlab baki 12 place setting ke machine se ye machine bade hote hain.

@Sateesh Neela, sorry to hear that. Good cleaning in dishwasher depends on many factors - checking water quality and adjusting salt and rinse aid settings accordingly, proper placement of utensils inside, degree of soiling in utensils, choosing the right program, type of detergent used, etc. I have posted a playlist of videos on LG dishwasher -
