Camping in HEAVY RAIN in Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL2 | Ultralight Hiking Tent

  • We bought a new tent, Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL2 and the weather forecast promised heavy rain so it was a good idea to test if this ultralight hiking tent is waterproof. I just hiked away one hour from our home, into the forests of Jokkmokk together with Annie, my border collie.
A week before I was on the snowmobile and now the snow was more or less gone, but still, some ice was left on the lakes.
I always try to say that you should enjoy your closest surrounding and use your time to get a lot of nature experiences as often as you can, even if they’re short. The grass is not always greener far away. And, you can learn a lot during these shorter trips. It’s a good idea to test new gear and equipment and new ideas. If you make a mistake or if something goes wrong you are only a short distance from home.
We hope you enjoy this video and thank you for watching. We also want to say an extra big thank you to our Patreons and you who support us on Buy Me A Coffee or in other ways.

I really think that lots of people in the north have a very warm heart. They always help each other and take care of other humans/animals. It's very socialistic politics up here. People vote for the parties who promise to help people who need help. It's not so much about what I can gain all the time.
...so I think people have warm heart.

Nice video. I own the same tent and did yesterday a raintest 🙂For ventilation in the top of the tent, you can pull the upper zippers a little bit down. The outside flap protects against the rain.

First time to watch your channel and really enjoyed your style. Subscribed. I am new to backpacking and researching tents for my son and I. Looking for lightweight, but space and safety in the elements is worth an extra pound or so in weight. Currently looking at 3 person Tiger Wall, Salt Creek and Copper Spur. Thank you for the thorough review.

Thank you for posting this video. At 16:19 you mention that your sleeping bag got a little wet ("moisturey"). Was that because of splashback (water hitting the ground and bouncing inside the tent due to the rainfly not reaching the ground) or just humid air?

Much fun Matti. I always like to make a couple trial runs especially with new gear. You never know until you try it out how you and it will perform. Annie is sweet. I have Ella's Rose, a Minnie Aussie. She stays well ahead too. Ready to run all day. What you said is very true about our status in this world. For 95 percent of it we are kings. We need to think of that everyday. My best has traveled by motorcycle 2 and 1/2 times around the world. She has seen and presented a lot of much less fortunate people on the planet. When you walk 22km to get a pot of water in 120 to 140 F degree heat everyday you are up against it badly. The children need something to eat and that's the only way. Many would just lay down and pass. Others accept it as they know nothing different from day one. We are very fortunate. She is currently on the Frontline doing what she can to help save her country from invaders. Hoping and praying for someday when the bombs and muscles quit and she can get back on her motorcycle and continue her journey. Anna Greschiskina. I Have A Dream Travels. See you. Take care.
