- What's in my backpack for a solo mountain hike. Here I'll show you all hiking gear I brought on my solo hiking adventure in Padjelanta National Park in the Swedish Mountains in the end of July.
Below you find my full hiking gear list with all essentials and all non essentials ;-).
I'll like to go for light but not ultralight backpacking. Some of the gear is considered ultralight but with some equipment I prioritize more sturdy and trustworthy gear.
For you who haven't seen it! Here is the video from my Solo Hike Adventure: • Solo Female Adventure ...

We are Stina & Matti and we live in Northern Sweden in a small place called Jokkmokk. Except for making videos we also run a small company called JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA and a kennel called WORKING HUSKY KENNEL. We offer guided outdoor tours in Swedish Lapland all around the year. During the winter we mostly do sled dog tours and in the summertime, it’s hiking tours, wildlife safaris, canoe, and packraft trips. We live year-round in Jokkmokk with our 50 Siberian Husky and 2 Border Collies.

The more remote your hiking, the less safe ultralight is. If you are very remote, you need sturdier gear, more repair gear, and more redundancy. If one is hiking the Appalachian Trail in the U.S., he is rarely far from other hikers, and usually within a few miles of a road or town. That hiker can cut corners and go ultralight. A person in remote Alaska or the Canadian Northern Wilderness would be risking catastrophe by going ultralight.
I don’t travel in reality, I travel with you. Thank you. ❤
❤️
Omg, opening is simply stunning my friend! Absolutely brilliant presentation and storytelling! 👏👏
It's a stunning place to hike 😊. Thank you! /Stina
👋 Tack för att du visade vad du hade med dig på din tur, alltid kul och se vad andra tar med sig. En bok gör kvällarna så mycket roligare. 🙋🏼♀️
Eller hur! En bok står alltid på min packlista 😉. /Stina
I love seeing everyone's gear selection from different countries. While I mostly car camp I specifically buy gears I can also use for backpacking. My last two gear to get a 800 down quilt and tent (I'll probably get that amazing Nemo dragonfly OSMO) as I hammock camp.
I have never tried hammock camping, but maybe one day 😉. /Stina
Osprey are great . Especially their “zero gravity” backpacks.
Thank you, good tips and gives me guidance. Have a nice day, greetings from Holland haha
I'm happy to hear you appreciated the video 🌞. /Stina
Åh vad bra! Precis vad jag önskade 😀Jag uppskattar verkligen era videos med tester av utrustning mm. Väldigt bra tips 🙏
Så bra!! Tack för att du visar din uppskattning ❤️.
Tack
Hello there saw your channel amongst other camping channels ,the episode where you gave out common camping winter mistakes ,as someone who camps up in the hills of Scotland I must confess there is some I have done too,my biggest problem is lack of sleep I try to tire my self out but keep waking up every hour ,but the last camp I done it was cold as a newbie and I felt really cold ,here in Scotland it is very wet and damp ,but we do not get any cold weather like Sweden does 🙄.Thanks I enjoy the channel.and keep up the good work 👍
Thank you!! ❤️
Do you filter your drinking water?
Lovely videos and info :)
Your Rescue Me PLB is one I knew nothing about so I did a lil internet research.
Seems it's made by ACR so I know it's a good product.
My PLB is the ACR ResQLink 400. Also NO Subscription required or needed. However, I carry mine in a pant pocket when hiking rather than in my backpack for easy accessibility if needed. If I trip, fall, & am seriously hurt, hopefully I'll be able to access it with a minimum of movement.
I also carry one of those orange handled FireSteel/Ferro Rods which I consider my primary spark producer for starting a fire.
Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.
They are great to have if something should happen. /Stina
@@JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA I especially like that the battery to your Rescue Me is good for 7 years, mine is only good for 5 years. Your Rescue Me works down to -20ºC, temperatures which are normal in your part of the world in winter. Your Rescue ME features an infrared strobe, my old model doesn't, the newer Model ResQLink now includes the same Infrared strobe, which is especially helpful in finding you at night, even in fog. Always, Always, KNOW the $365 cost is the best $365 you ever spent for any equipment, IF you find yourself in a life or death situation.
Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.
Impressed by the weight of your pack, only 15kg for a week long trip? And only 65 liter backpack. I have never understood have some people manage this, my pack is never below 25-27 kg's for a week outdoors, and at least 30+kg's for two weeks alone and the packs volume must be at least 95liters, preferably more. And...I find all the gear I carry - at least most of it - to be indispensable🙂. Never carry books, and only a compact camera.
That is very heavy. There is a lot of lightweight stuff today that can make your hike much more comfortable. Or maybe you carry a lot of food? I hiked for 4 days this time. For a week I would need a little bit more food that maybe would add an extra kilo or so. /Stina
It'd be useful to know what brand of food you're carrying. Thanks in advance.
Great video with so useful information👍 where do you put your backpack at night? Outside the tent or inside? Is there any room in the tent for the backpack?
I have the backpack in the tent vestibule. Thank you for watching and commenting! /Stina
Remember, sometimes the “feeling” of security can lead a person to pack their fears. Let years of experience in a well known environment guide your gear choices.
In the lower latitudes of the California mountains I would carry 3.4kg/7.5lbs of gear, but around in northern Sweden I would carry 4.5kg/10lbs
True!
/Stina
Nice to see what you take on a trip. Is the weight including the backpack?
Tack from the Netherlands
Yes backpack included
I respect your choices. However, I would love to see a video where you and Matti try to go fully, Ultrlight, for fun!
Maybe one day!
🤔, no Flällräven backpack….
?? I never had any Fjällräven backpack./Stina
kamu cantik dan juga hebat...😍🙏
Thank you! 🌞
