This was the song played at our wedding reception for our first official dance as husband and wife. She absolutely shined her light on me and straightened out my life. We're still together almost 18 years later!

It was supposed to be ours, but our DJ couldn't find a copy back in the day. We had to settle for another song. I found this after the fact: Before the age of streaming, this song was very hard to find because it does not appear on compilations, is not available for download, and the original album is out of print. Since the band refused to perform it and distanced themselves from it, the song suffered from a lack of promotion that kept it from becoming a much bigger hit and severely restricted its availability. It is not included on other Climax Blues Band greatest hits packages.
I had the same problem with our DJ, I bought a 2 album package just for this one song to be played at our wedding. @@eric95403

This song is one of the lesser-celebrated gems of 80's ballads, but ranks right up there with the best of them IMHO.

I worked as a mobile DJ for about 20 years and had all sorts of wedding songs for the bride and groom’s first dance. One couple asked for this song and for some reason it was the hardest song to find. This was before you could download anything online so I had to scour every music store for miles around. After a couple of months I finally got a copy of it from a local radio station. I heard them play it and drove there immediately. It was worth it. I just ran into the couple a few weeks ago and they’re still together.

This song has been on my go to for love songs for decades now...one of the best love songs out there.
I was 23 and she was 31. I was fresh out of prison with no hopes, dreams or aspirations. She showed up at my birthday party with my aunt, with whom she was friends. Bass player Derek Holt wrote this song. It's about meeting his first wife. I remember seeing CBB live in 1977 opening for, of all people, Emerson, Lake & Palmer (along with Foghat and J. Geils). They were a good band, made some good records.

This lovely song came out around the time my wife and I married. I didn't pay much attention to it back then. However, I heard it recently after 40+ years of marriage and multiple blessings, including full careers, sons/daughters-in-law, and grandchildren, and couldn't help but get choked up. As the singer closed, "since then, I've never looked back, it's almost like living a dream...if ever a man had it all, it would have to be me."

the band dates back to the 60's... prolific band, such a broad range of music.. some of their members are pushing 80 now, and they still perform occasionally for small venues.
I bet a year later this song has grown on her and she occasionally listens to it and gets in the zone like the rest of us.
66 yrs old and still listening too. I got the album , 8 track, reel to reel, cassette , downloaded it, streaming it, never get tired listening to it and singing it to my wife of 40 yrs. I actually karaoke this song now and then. I'm somewhat of a regular at a karaoke bar in Old Town Scottsdale and the first time I busted this out I had so many people come up to me and let me know how they remembered the song and what it meant to them at the time it came out. I've yet to find this magical woman but not losing hope.

I was in boot camp at the time when I heard this. Still one of the best love songs out there. Another I like is "Forever My Love" by the Association. Came out if I remember correctly in '67. There's an instrumental one that made the charts in '68 called "Love is Blue" by Paul Mauriate. You should listen to it, I think you will like it.

This song was written about my life. I met the most beautiful and amazing woman 39 years ago at the lowest point of my life. I was broken. She introduced me to Jesus. That was a life changer. God has blessed us abundantly!!!!!!

There will never ever be a time again like the 70s music. It was so diverse with so many Fantastic songs from so many different genres.
I've got over 1,000 CDs in my music collection most of them being from the late 60s too early 80s and I still hear songs like this and can't believe that I forgot they existed and don't have them in my collection.
Over that 70s music collection, almost every single song on every single CD is good.
I would say that at least 95% of the CDs/albums I've got, every single is good.
Nowadays you could download a good song here in there but I think very few artists have albums where every single song is good. And very few artists with the talent that they had in the 70s. At least Talent when it comes to composing music.
My wife and I danced to that at our wedding in June of 1981.
