McLean Hospital in Massachusetts has the same exact thing. I worked at McLean as a Social Worker for years. McLean was built in 1818.. and let me tell you.. that place.. the tunnels there.. are the SCARIEST PLACE you never want to be. I worked with Eating disorder patients. My patient was dehydrated and needed sugar. Asap. I rushed down to the tunnels to get to the cafeteria as fast as I could bc it was cold out. Bad. TERRIBLE IDEA. I wasn't alone down there. I ended up on the other side of the hospital running down different paths being chased by a shadow. The tunnels were dug when the hospital was built. They were used to transport patients and to hide them from the outside world. Mostly for ECT. Then there's the story of the abandoned building that were left there when McLean went bankrupt in the early 2000's. Sold the land but the buildings stood there still strangely alive. Inside was like Tom said.. layers of dust where patient files were still in desks.. a piano sat there.. waiting to be played... children's toys. The files were dated back to the 40's.. it was like one day everyone got up and just left.. and there it all stood for years until they were finally torn down and they built houses there. You couldn't pay me enough to live on those grounds. Walking around those abandoned buildings(which you weren't supposed to do but I had keys..that opened most doors on the grounds.. and I was curious.. terrible TERRIBLE MISTAKE) WORD of advice.. don't go looking for something.. because you will find it.. and when you do you will wish you never did.
