Nobody hires anyone on qualifications alone. It’s the vibe, the image, the way you speak and how confident you are. Your personality, your charisma.. it’s a whole package mate.
I didn’t get the job I turned up for the interview wearing a dirty tracksuit full of food stains. Im now going on this morning to moan to Phil and holly about how the world discriminates against slobs and someone should be forced to hire me or its discriminatory!
And its also if you can do the job just because you have qualifications doesn’t mean you can do the job because a lot of people with degrees cannot get jobs because it’s one thing learning the job in a class room than actually having hands on experience and as employers see it with qualifications it’s like having all the gear no idea that’s why obviously medical students are put to the test in hospitals after they have qualified to get the hands on experience
Crazy isn't it! Dinner lady as well. So, it's not like she had to be up super early. She was definitely in kfc chewing down a bucket aswell 😂 you couldn't exactly miss her, could you.
Absolutely - one of the first phrases that jumped out as matching the modern narcissistic culture. "MY TRUTH IS". Clearly, she was not on time (and it was probably regular) but I've personally met several people in the workplace who earnestly believe that 10-15 minutes late is NOT late. The advice I was given a while ago - if you are late and it's really nt your fault, tell me which motorway hold up or rail service it was and I'll go to google and there it will be. M4 closed for 2 hours ... YUP> Clear roads on traffic watch - nope.
She's got a massive chip on her shoulder. This whole body positivity movement has caused some people to go too far. They now argue there's no normal size, that thin women especially are sick and underweight and unwomanly. I wouldn't believe it except my sister is a little bit like that now. She used to berate ME for having puppy fat when I was a teen and now I'm thin and she's very overweight. But she seriously thinks she's curvy ala Marilyn M. I don't really know how anyone can look at Monroe and see an overweight woman - she was tiny. My sister now raises her eyebrows at my body and my clothes, looks me up and down and makes me feel so self conscious. She isn't even recognisable as my sister as she was before age 30.
If she had been on time, she would have said she was there before her scheduled start time. Instead she tried to muddy the waters and sadly it worked. Time is fact and whether she was late or not is pretty factual not subjective (assuming accurate clocks and reasonable bosses - but generally when doing shift type work you should be there at least a few minutes before the scheduled start. I think this girl was trying to argue that the other women were late too therefore she was in the right.

I've got thyroid problem that makes me put on weight very quickly, however I do work hard to keep myself healthy and in shape. I was overweight at some point but I did lost 17kg,not only to go back to work but also for my health and to give good example to my daughter to look after yourself. It also shows your discipline and motivation skills. You are still young lady, bare in mind, 10 years later you will start having serious health issues and breathing problems while walking.
It's funny how people use thyroid issues as a way to explain being overweight. It's actually not the thyroid issue that causes weight gain, it's the medication that changes your metabolism back to normal. If you have either graves or Hashimoto's, then you need to regulate your eating.
@@laciihasz4734everybody who cuts carbs gets an elevated Thyroid, this is not a bad thing. Only way to bring it back down is to start eating healthy, you will gain weight temporarily. So what. Do lots of zone2 cardio to offset it if you are that bothered. At least you will have the energy to do this now.
I remember 30 years ago going for job interviews and not getting the jobs I was applying for. I eventually asked one of the interviewers why I was unemployable and what I could do to get a job. His answer was "You are a single parent and will need to take time off for your child, my best advice for you is to become self-employed. You can work from home and be there for your children". The best advice I have been given. I have worked from home for over 30 years and have been here for all of my children and have never been out of work.
@@liyanah604 I was a single parent on benefits, although I took on a number of secretarial temp jobs I wasn't able to get a full-time position, which is why I asked one of the interviewers about not being hired. In the UK at the time the government was encouraging people to re-train in other fields. There was a furniture shop in my hometown that had a workshop where they did soft-furnishing/interior decorating and a local college offering a day course, C&G in Upholstery/Furniture Design. I had to work for free in the workshop four days a week and go to college one day a week. For that I got an extra 10 pounds a week in benefits, the college course paid for and some of the childcare fees offset. I did this for a year and when I had finished the terms of the agreement, the workshop contracted work to me, along with 2 other interior decorating businesses in the area and I set up my own business too. For bread and butter (cash) work I would take in alterations for clothing. I seem to remember that I had to either re-apply every 6 weeks or maybe it was turning in paperwork ever week or so to make sure I was doing what I said I was doing. If not I had to repay the money. I am sure they still have programs in the UK for re-training of some kind. Don't get me wrong it was hard work for little at the time benefit as my daughter was about a 12/18mths
@@Kellz82-p7p Maybe not, someone I was chatting to said there are no such schemes in the UK anymore and you can be penalized by the JC and the system if you try to get the education yourself which sounds very off to me. Here in the US, I have not been able to get unemployment benefits or FEMA aid when the area has been hit by hurricanes, as a result, I have had to rely on myself to get my family through. The things I have learnt in life are "It's not raining men" any more than there are employers lining up at my door pleading with me to work for them, just annoying salespeople trying to sell me something. But I am of the opinion that if there is a will there is a way you just have to find it, if you don't try or put yourself out you will never know what you can achieve. I was a builder's apprentice for 4 years, just a few hours here and there working on my house. I bartered with him, as in, I paid just over half of his payment and I worked the rest off, now I do my own little projects and a few little things for friends. I have worked as a personal chef for a couple of families and a cleaner for another when they asked for help, in these cases the payment wasn't much, but for me, it was the experience that mattered. These last jobs were requests placed on Nextdoor or posted in newspapers, but then I have been prepared to donate my time even when I was barely making ends meet and could have done with the money.
I disagree, my wife is a big girl, and I love that about her, and she owns her own business and works long hours too. Just because someone is bigger does not mean they are not hard workers. People like Katy and her supporters just hate the look of bigger people and this is there way bullying them.
It’s not always that way, but it does have merit.. but when I hire a person, I want someone that’s presentable, and especially if she/he has to meet customers.

A boss of mine hired an extremely heavy woman and she was breathing heavily during the interview. After she came to work, she tried to get me to do all the physical work for her. She would try ordering me to get typing paper for her and other small tasks that would require her to get out of her chair and walk. It was maddening. I ignored her when she tried ordering me around like that.
I agree. Being fat is a condition, not an identity. Besides, why should anyone be forced to hire her? If she is the right person for the job, then I would have no problem hiring her. However, obesity often leads to other medical problems that would result in her not coming to work.
The thing that made me laugh about that is that she's already trying to change who she is by making herself more qualiifed so why is losing weight any different, it just takes willpower.
@@BlindingSun_ That's the money I meant. I understand that there are people out there who genuinely need the benefits but unfortunately there are a load more who are simply bone idle. "Why should I have to change who I am?" Why does she think that being obese is who she is? She thinks that if she lost weight she would no longer be herself?

I thought Katie was polite and supportive in all that she said. I'm like the other, 6 hours a week. 75 minutes a day. This lady needs to wake up and smell the coffee. She doesn't want to lose weight.
No one is born fat it comes from eating way more than the body needs and being inactive and lazy. So in the eyes of an employer that means she's someone with very little self control, she's lazy and not very motivated. Weather we like it or not our appearance is a representation of who we are.
No health problem made her that way, if there were she'd be claiming disability. I dont have a problem with her but she's not living in the real world and like it or not people get judged on how they look. Does that mean she should conform and get thin to please them?, no but there are a ton of other real reasons to be lighter and healthier mainly her own health!. I cant believe she's happy being like that so ignore what old witch face here thinks and do it for yourself.
Do you believe she's truly happy? I'm sure deep down, she's hurt by other peoples ugly attitudes about weight. People are commenting so harshly about her body. No one is perfect and it isn't fair, most women are insecure enough already. It makes me sad to see how others are treating her.
Whittney Looney I already said I dont think she's happy. People get judged for all sorts of things its not nice but that's life. There are people who are born with horrible deformities that make them complete outcasts and live truly miserable lives. I'm not quite sure I can have the same level of sympathy for someone who eats twice (or more) the amount of food & calories her body needs a day, get massively over weight then complains that her lifestyle choice isn't accepted by everyone. It just really annoys me when fat people act like its a mystery or not their fault they ended up being fat!, its no mystery it basic maths you're body naturally burns around 2000/2500 calories a day anything over that amount and the body stores these calories and they become FAT! and so do you.
Her weight isn't the problem, it's her attitude and her unwillingness to accept responsibility. Plus she can barely talk. Get healthy while pursuing a degree in IT or something like that.

@CosyGames with Tea Having employed many people in our business over the last 26 years with part time, casual, and full time positions, I expect all employees to be accurate in time keeping. There are 168 hours in a week and if someone cannot be on time for a measly 6 hours a week then they are not really putting effort into the position. I understand that she has children I brought up 4 children while running a business, you have a backup plan before you take on any position maybe a few people that you know you can count on to step in for you when your child is unwell.Employers understand that emergencies happen and will accomodate the employee, personally I would not employ this person not because of her size but because of her negative attitude, she has an excuse for everything, blames every thing on her size . She is obviously very unhappy with her appearance but she has to be the one to alter that. If I was in her position and desperately needed a job to support my children I would start with losing the weight and doing everything possible to enable me to make the best impression to any future employer

Over time I realized my body would let me know when I am hungry. So I allow myself to become hungry. I noticed most people I interact with do NOT do this. As controversial as she is, Katie has it spot on here. Obesity is costing the UK billions of pounds every year. This girl is not curvy, she is OBESE! The sooner people start being honest with themselves and with everyone else, the sooner they can start making positive changes for themselves and for this country's healthcare system.
spongeboynumber1 . . . "Billions", not quite. I agree with everything else you said, though. I would add, smokers cost more, drinkers cost more, and there are far more important issues than obesity. But of course, the media would rather focus on fatties, than real issues that effect everyone.

I don't get why we pander to obese people. It annoys me that it gets put into the same kind of bracket as race, gender and sexuality issues - all things we have no control over. Being fat we DO have control over, however. Just eat more healthily and start exercising. In 99% of cases fatness is just the embodiment of laziness, so I can see why she isn't getting employed.
+Simon Edmonds Being fat isn't about being lazy it's about eating as a way to fill emotional voids. Just watch long term transformation videos and their stories. Cure the root cause and the fat melts away.
+Paul Brady My brother was fat, not because he was lazy, but rather he had a difficult time losing weight, even though he was eating healthier foods. Who doesn't like to eat? He certainly did, and initially did eat more of the wrong foods (junk food), Became more depressed, and so, like you at more, but he wasn't lazy in the first instance. Like the overweight Provincial Minister of Health - Sarah Hoffman, in Alberta, Dominion of Canada, he was a go-getter and high achiever - so not lazy by any stretch of the imagination. Like you he was bullied - not sure if it were completely down to weight or because of the colour of his skin - or both!
Wow, the fat acceptance and logic is strong here. Are you going to tell me that someone who weighs over 300 lbs is going to be as efficient as someone who weighs 160lbs? Please. How can I expect someone to take care of the job I give them when they can't even take care of themselves?
Kody B "Well it depends on said job?" That doesn't sound very motivating. I wouldn't hire an unmotivated person either. If she was motivated then she would try any job she could get and do her best to keep it.
Maybe her goal in life was to become fat and if so then she has succeeded well and you should hire her because she obviously is a well motivated person.
MobyfromDick So her goal in life was to be fat knowing all the health risks involved? I wouldn't consider being motivated to be unhealthy a proper motivation. Would you?
Kody B Mmmmmm, so rife with fat logic. Again, I'm not going to hire a person who is unmotivated in keeping themselves healthy. If you think about it, all you are trying to do is justify reasons for these people to continue killing themselves.

Not to mention she was working in a school. So they don’t get traditional annual leave as they get all of the holidays and half terms off. If you add all of those days up it means she had about 70 work days off 😂. I get loads of annual leave at my job because I’ve been there so long, 35 days. I’m often jokingly accused of never being in work. Can you imagine if I took twice as much leave?!
Plus it was a school job. Most schools are shut for 13 weeks a year. Yes teachers and support staff sometimes attend the school while the pupils are on holiday, but dinner ladies don't.
Taking personal responsibility is a lost skill. It is not about blame or discrimination - it is a personal commitment to being the best version of yourself. And, we can all make improvements. This takes courage to admit, grace to execute and discipline to make in to a new habit. If you are not having success in one part of your life - it is time to look at the person in the mirror and ask some questions. This is called self-respect.

The same as the phrase “my truth” instead of the truth.

I wouldn't hire her. Not because of her weight but because she's unlikable.

Doing what exactly? How did you start doing it?
Yeah ,but that's not really possible for alot if jobs is it !
These last jobs were requests placed on Nextdoor or posted in newspapers, but then I have been prepared to donate my time even when I was barely making ends meet and could have done with the money.

exactly! She chose to stuff her mouth full of KFC and McDonalds so its her fault.

@@nicolakeane4995 I'm 6'3 and go from 215 to 235.. I am critical of myself and work to be disciplined. I am getting older now past 40 so my metabolism is NOT what it used to be for sure but I try and stay lean. The biggest hurdle for me was realizing the difference between being hungry and bored or just eating because it was a certain time of day. If I am not hungry, I do not eat. Over time I realized my body would let me know when I am hungry. So I allow myself to become hungry. I noticed most people I interact with do NOT do this. And remember if you are already overweight then your body will go into a state where it is eating your fat stores and that is a good thing. Smaller portions. Eat what you need not what you have always eaten (proportion wise), if you are not expending a lot of calories working hard then keep that in mind.
Honestly it's so refreshing to hear someone talking common sence,
I went to an interview with stitches in my knee after a serious road accident NOT my fault same day as interview. Employer was impressed as they immediately saw my work ethic & reliability
My car was rear-ended going to the interview and I was twenty minutes late. I gave the interviewer the police report number and my car had the damages. I was hired right then.
Great idea. Next time I go for a job interview I'm coming in with a leg cast.

I never thought I would say this. It's hard to admit it. I agree with Katie Hopkins. A sentence I thought should never have been formed ever.
I don't think fat people should be given benefits for being fat but It's how fucking rude Katy Hopkins is most of the time which makes me want to disagree with everything that comes out of her mouth.

+Ayrsawft Is that because she rubs you the wrong way or because you refuse to admit that Britain has a Muslim problem?
I run a small construction company and overweight would be a safety risk. We work in very strenuous conditions. Some of our work involves going up in attics with extreme hot temperatures in the summer and limited spaces. I run a crew of 12 guys and all are in good shape. If I see anyone applying that looked like her, it would not be in their best interest, or mine, to work with us.

Totally agree with Katie. She speaks the truth!
This is the real world, and Katie was absolutely bang on with everything that she said.
This is probably the most respectful I have EVER seen Katie! So surprising!
Yup, hate to admit I actually agreed with her here.
I honestly believe that Katie's "bitch" persona is a bit of a farce to gain views, as is the schtick of show business. You'll probably find she's more docile and reasonable behind closed doors.
@Don't call me Clown, Moustache I do agree with you and there's an interview that she and Candace Owens did on PragerU that shows she's really sweet, just very firm in her beliefs.
Agreed, i thought she would destroy big turbo but she was respectful

I have an under active thyroid and I just watch what I eat, exercise and eat healthy. I am no where near her weight. It’s just excuses.
Correct 👍
She also has pcos which makes it more hard on top of hypothyroidism. Keep in mind everyone’s body and disorders might not react the same way yours do.

She Worked only 6 gours per week and couldn’t get to Work on Time! Come on! Katie is 100% right.
When I was a teacher there was a girl who came for a teaching assistant job who was as heavy as this young woman. She was too big to sit close to the tables where the kids were working, too heavy for the small chairs and panted and struggled to breathe when she bent down low or sat on the floor to play with the kids. She lasted a week in the job.
I have a very obese son, he can't even wipe his a..e, excuse my language, and has to have a shower after toilet visits....let alone getting something off the floor...It is woeful. I wouldn't employ a fat person, simply because you have to have heavy duty everything.
Exactly, well put
Good thing she could not get close to the kids. They would have passed out from the hockey bag stink.
Probably because she had to work with someone as judgemental and condescending as yourself, to be truthful.
Not good for your health are you not botherd
This isn't about her weight.....she's a very difficult person, and this is her on her best behaviour
yes, she wouldn't have got fired for not being able to work cause her daughter was sick. There were other reasons for sure
And she is not that articulate either.
Just the way she speaks annoys me too much to employ her

As controversial as she is, Katie has it spot on here. Obesity is costing the UK billions of pounds every year. This girl is not curvy, she is OBESE! The sooner people start being honest with themselves and with everyone else, the sooner they can start making positive changes for themselves and for this country's healthcare system.
This.
Ayrsawft
Life is like a box of chocolates- it doesn't last as long for fat people
spongeboynumber1 . . . "Billions", not quite. I agree with everything else you said, though. I would add, smokers cost more, drinkers cost more, and there are far more important issues than obesity. But of course, the media would rather focus on fatties, than real issues that effect everyone.
Obesity is the physical reflection of our society today. And our society must be rotten.
I Was Right Once
Smokers may cost more but that is not the point of this argument and you know it is not.
When they can’t win the argument, they start to shout and talk over the other person!
You can’t argue with stupid! Even if she ‘finks’ she’s well spoken!
Love Katie, says it as it is! ❤
+Simon Edmonds Is that 99% figure an absolute? It most certainly isn't as cut and dry as that.
Stop making excuses for fat people
+Simon Edmonds Being fat isn't about being lazy it's about eating as a way to fill emotional voids.
+Brianne Burns Yeah, I agree fat isn't about being lazy and it's about using eating (eating of junk food) to fill emotional voids.
Well Katie 100% spot on
Wow, the fat acceptance and logic is strong here.
Kody B Nice, so you really don't care about these people after all. Besides, if it's a fat person then they are never going to catch up to me. ;)

Good for you. Well done 😁👏💖
Awesome
Exercise makes people lose fat and gain muscle weight instead so how you tricked them into thinking that that was gaining weight is impressive.
@@rprattify I mean, bmi doesn't differentiate between muscle and fat. Body builders are likely to be categorised as obese within the bmi system because of this, despite it being muscle and not fat. And as you pointed out, exercise helps you gain muscle.
She thinks being fat is a personality trait
It's 'who I am'
6000 languages and you decided to speak facts...
It’s this stupid sense of entitlement that she has. She’s not taking it seriously. She’s speaking out of both sides of her mouth. One point, she says she’s too fat to be hired; on the other hand she says she’s not going to change anything. Her “ovaries” aren’t causing her disability. She doesn’t want to work. She wants to be on tv and get her dough (no pun intended 😂) from social media.
Its like employing an addict. After being 350lbs, getting bariatric surgery, transferring my addiction from food to alcohol and then going to rehab; I know now that food, alcohol, meth, cigarettes are all the same. I see an obese person now and see them for what they are- an addict. Im glad the world is slowly waking back up and back-peddaling this lazy lifestyle that took us over for 30 years.
Well done Katie. Being truthful is not the easiest path to take, but ultimately necessary. If you have something that can change that is holding you back then you change it. The fact is that obesity leads to health issues and employer know that.
This is like being a heavy smoker and drinker demanding a position on the NFL..
I don’t know how anyone would employ the bigoted woman based on her looks.
I also don’t believe someone can be born that stupid. She’s obviously doing it for attention.
I'm getting fat but I don't think I could live her size.
Yeah it is easy actually, as it means you don't have to remember the previous lies you've told in order to remain consistent. Truth is the very definition of consistency.
Being overweight is horrible, I struggle with my weight all the time - but I know what's causing it, and I'm not making excuses. What's the point? Eating less and exercising more sounds easy - but it's not. Unfortunately it's the only sure way to lose weight and keep it off.
I went from having 2 very active busy jobs working with animals plus homeschooling my teenager and volunteering for an animal shelter, to barely being able to get through basic housework without copious painkillers. I was in a pretty bad car accident and my spine is busted. I’d give anything to go back to my job, I loved it. I’m doing everything I can to remain as independent as possible, daily stretching exercises and maintaining a healthy weight, not eating rubbish, walking on my better days etc
I can’t understand how someone can be ok with not working when the solution to what’s stopping them is so simple! I have disabilities that will require constant effort to manage for the rest of my life. If all I had to do was lose some weight I’d have done it yesterday!! Just eat less and move more and get some help identifying why you turn to food as a coping mechanism. It’s not undoable!
Same here
Bless you.
Very well said and sorry to hear about ur disability.
Regardless you do need to move to maintain proper circulation, I’m in the same position as you with my spine degeneration, I can no longer work. I’ve looked into other options, since I’ve exhausted all within the medical field.
Would suggest looking at your nutrition. The food we eat is highly processed, contains toxins and have very little nutritional value. What the government allowed big corporations to do is poison our foods. I’ve have taken out every food I love due to its lack of health benefits.
Research nutrition, what to avoid what not to avoid. All diet drinks contain aspartame which breaks down in our bodies as formaldehyde, which adds more strain on the body’s liver.
Possibly look for alternative ways cope. I’ve worked all my life and have been very active, was a fitness instructor for decades until I started my second career as a HCP. Spent two years working 12hr shifts on the frontline during Covid before my back quit, along with my knees. The amount of physical, emotional pain, and the MH issues are hard for ppl to grasp if they have never been there. My last attempt for quality of life is a complete change in diet- that’s the last sliver of hope…maybe it will slow down the disease I had since 18yrs of age. At this moment I’m not living- just existing- and that is no life.
It’s fascinating to see how society has changed within 10 years. This sort of discussion would never fly these days and if it did everyone would be attacking Katie for being “fat phobic”
@Cheyanne Pierce yeah and notice how the presenters aren’t completely afraid to imply she should lose weight. It’s almost like she’s on the defensive most of the time and having to justify her life choices.
Nowadays no one would dare say anything like that and Katie would intead be the one on the defensive the entire time.
They are still talking about obese people having to pay for two airplane tickets.
“Fat phobic” What a load of tosh. I’m anorexic phobic too if that’s allowed… Am I allowed to find healthy weight people attractive?

Not to mention she was working in a school. So they don’t get traditional annual leave as they get all of the holidays and half terms off. If you add all of those days up it means she had about 70 work days off 😂.
I get loads of annual leave at my job because I’ve been there so long, 35 days. I’m often jokingly accused of never being in work. Can you imagine if I took twice as much leave?!
Plus it was a school job. Most schools are shut for 13 weeks a year. Yes teachers and support staff sometimes attend the school while the pupils are on holiday, but dinner ladies don't.

6 hours a week? That's less than 1 hour a day, and was still accused of being late? Lol
You are so right!
