    Sir, thank you so very much. I sat here holding the QR1 and Formula 2.5X in my hands, and I didn't know what to do. Your video was a lifesaver.

    The CSL DD and GT DD Pro are indeed prone to breaking, and also the shaft is not securely mounted to the wheelbase, it's held in place with a clamp and when you're someone who pulls on the wheel you will most likely at some point disconnect the wheel because the shaft has came out a little.
    A friend of me has the tendency to pull on the wheel and he often pulles the wheel until it's disconnected, one time it got pulled out a bit too far and the USB connection in the shaft seemed to be misaligned and when I tried to push the shaft back (after loosening the bolt in the clamp) I pushed straight through the PCB inside the wheelbase. The wheelbase was completely destroyed!
    THANKFULLY though, Fanatec was very lenient to help me out and repaired the wheelbase within the warranty at no additional cost! They also replaced the clamp for the shaft with a bigger one that now has 2 bolts instead of 1, hopefully it does a better job at holding the shaft in place, but my friend hasn't raced since the accident with the wheelbase because he is now terrified that he'll pull it out again and it breaks again when I push the shaft back...

    Wish I watched your video first about the quick release as I purchased this for my WRC wheel to use with my DD2 😪

    • @Teqqlesdoessimracing

      Sorry to hear that. I think the disclaimer should be way more apparent on the website as you really do have to read fine print to find out that info! I tried the WRC rim on a DD1 and honestly the feedback feels dead and wooden. I get that low torque mode is a safety feature to ensure you don't damage the wheel but I think it'd be more helpful just to say some products are not compatible with the Podium DD range.

    • @mrlang7818
      @mrlang7818 2 роки тому +1

      @@Teqqlesdoessimracing I spoke with fanatec about this matter. I mentioned the the DD2 panel says, torque is reduced to prevent damage on the simplified quick-release system. Which in my opinion is misleading. Fanatec have offered me a hassle free refund for the QR1 quick release adapter. But looks like I'm going to have to sell my much loved WRC wheel 😔 not the end of the world.

      @Teqqlesdoessimracing  2 роки тому +1

      @@mrlang7818 I'm glad you managed to get a refund on the QR, the support team are usually very reasonable. I too had to sell the WRC rim and it's a shame they didn't make it high torque upgradable

    Thanx for the video.. what about the screw that goes inside the QR. is that required ? I have the GT DD pro

    • @Teqqlesdoessimracing
      @Teqqlesdoessimracing  2 роки тому +1

      No problem mate. Glad you enjoyed the vid! The screw isn't needed for the QR but it can make it flex a little less on the Podium series of direct drive wheels. It shouldn't be necessary on the GT DD Pro 😀

    I have the Gran Turismo dd pro 8NM set up for my PS5. I get a lot of flexing and creaking in the QRLite. Can I change the supplied Gran Turismo wheel QRLite for a better one and do I have to change anything base side (as in the shaft output from the motor) 🤔

    • @Teqqlesdoessimracing
      @Teqqlesdoessimracing  Рік тому +1

      The metal QR1 is compatible with the GT wheel and you'd not have to change anything on the base side. One thing to note though is that the QR1 can be noisy in operation with the spring system, putting the screw in fixes that but it's not really a QR once you have to start messing about with a screw 😉

    Did Fanatech say when will upgrade the Clubsport Pedals or will have the podium pedals?

    • @Teqqlesdoessimracing
      @Teqqlesdoessimracing  2 роки тому

      I've not heard anything about plans for a follow up on the V3 pedals. They could be keeping something close to their chest but I'd imagine that'd be something to rival the Heusinkveld Sprints in the Podium range. Still heard nothing so this is just conjecture 😄

    So I have a Fanatec elite do I need to have the Fanatec podium or can I just get the club sport hub for my drifting wheel. I was told that I had to get the Fanatec podium hub bc I was using a after market wheel and that it wouldn’t unlock high torque mode. Is this true mate.

    • @Teqqlesdoessimracing
      @Teqqlesdoessimracing  2 роки тому

      You only need the podium hub if you're using a podium wheelbase, unless you're using a USB wheel or want to use the Endurance button module. If it's just an after market wheel rim then the Clubsport Hub will be fine and actually offer you more buttons. High Torque mode is only a thing on the DD1, DD2, and, Podium F1 wheel.

    • @Teqqlesdoessimracing

      I wish! As far as I am aware the BMW M4 wheel announced a little earlier in the month will be the first to feature the QR2. That particular wheel goes on pre-order next month with a likely delivery sometime in early to mid 2022. So reading between the lines sometime in Q1-Q2 of 2022 would be my guess.

      I'm not sure what part of the video you're talking about here but if you mean the gold ring or the rubber that is shown in the video with it mounted to my wheelbase that is part of the Podium DD1 that I'm currently using.
