Funny twist... the 350$ DD has been out of stock basically since some weeks after the release and they only sell it with the more expensive power outlet or extras or PS version.
This was masterpiece planned from Fanatec indeed!

I have one, I waited 4 months, and I would do it again.
i had my eyes on the csl dd for a month, and when I checked first time, it said august 17th to arrive in stock again. week later it said in stock... 2 days later out of stock again.. then week after it said in stock again, even if it was 7 days left for it to be in stock again, and I ordered it, and 3 days later it was in my house. So I would not trust the dates, instead check the site regulary... otherwise I would have waited a month for it :)
Yeah it was a brilliant piece of marketing that's for sure. A mini dd. If you think about it, it was the product that everyone wanted. Fanatec pulled it off first. Now you've got Simagic, Moza etc in the game. I love all the competition in the Sim Racing market. Just means we're getting the best of the best.

Then I ordered the CSL DD when it came out and of course I love it.
I keep being told by people that 8Nm is not strong enough for a direct drive wheelbase but I don't agree.
If I was still in my 20's or 30's with muscles like Popeye then yes, but sadly I'm more like Victor Meldrew these days so it's plenty for me.
They fooled us all that April, but I forgive them.
so when i saw this it was my hallelujah moment did i sit on the pre order wait list Yes did it arrive Yes ,almost 1 year of using it with just the 5nm and its the best thing i have done for my sim hobby

Btw, do you think Fanatec will ever bring the CSL DDs back in stock?
I think they would if they could, but the DD Pro is likely their focus going forward as it covers XBOX, PS and PC in one.
Q1 2023
I have been sim racing for a little over 6 months and I have never seen a CSL DD in stock or available for sale anywhere in the US. So it's not a real thing as far as I'm concerned because you can't get one.
Honestly it's another whole side to this saga how great everything looked in 2021, only for the rug to be pulled due to supply issues in 2022. Supposedly 2023 will be back on track, but yeah - this stuff will seem like unicorns if you've only just got into the game!
One of the main reasons I went with Moza r9.
it says out of stock, and has a date that is way beyond, but its in stock atleast twice in a month when i checked, and i ordered it. So I got my wheel way before the date it said it would be in stock again.

It was a blessing that there was a backorder, because i canceled my order and sent Simagic Alpha. BEST WHEEL EVER. IT FEELS SO REAL.

I have the CSL DD 8Nm for 1.5 years now and it's a great little angry box too. :)

Yeah it was a great stunt, I'm surprised other companies haven't done it in some way because it's a great way of teasing people with what they want without actually showing them what they'll be getting.
I wish we had the driveshaft of the motor from the april fools mockup instead :) then it would not be problems with qr
I wish I'd never bought mine. I've had 1 replaced, and the second one is starting to fail now too, and is less than 12 months old.
I guess they think we can't find where their kids go to school

3:06 no one going to mention the QR2. So they've had it for years yet still haven't released it? It couldn't be so they can get rid all of all the CSL QR stock and then charge its customers £150 too £200 for the new "QR2" could it???????

Only if they could make more, I had to fork out another $400 for a better wheel since they have no stock, it was either go double or go for another simple g29
