This is one of the most underrated open world games ever. My favorite one in the series so far. Had so much fun playing this, especially with the gameplay, hacking, and just creating all kinds of havoc in my surroundings during my playthrough of it. Not to mention the graphics still holds up to this day.
Honestly loved the more colorful and goofy tone of the second game. I also felt the San Francisco setting is just a better city to play in. It's disappointing that the latest game in the franchise isn't anywhere near as fun as WD2.
WD2 is definitely more fun to fuck around in but the story is completely shit. All the character designs are just terrible. Hard to watch some of the scenes sometimes, idk why they felt the need to make them so cringe
@@DennisShanaberg Same here. I just would stun gun people and felt weird as a hackvist type person to be killing people but started blasting mofos after that.
Back in like late 2020-early 2022 I was SUPER into wd2 it was my heart and soul This game should be WAY more popular than it is in my opinion cuz honestly there's just so much to love about it Also Josh,Wrench and Horatio should get their own separate game
The main theme of the game is so addictive the sandbox feeling of 2 is absolutely amazing and I love how the dlcs give u more then just missions making them useful it’s ashame there were only 2 dlcs it would’ve been nice to have an expansion
Watch Dogs 2 was and still is underrated. The map was awesome, it improved everything gameplay-vise from the first game, it might be cringe sometimes, and the characters are akward, villain is not memorable at all, but man! The vibes of this game carry the whole package! Watch Dogs 2 is the best in the series, it's better than the first one, and Legion was so damn awful, everything is better than that.
I'd argue the characters being "awkward/cringe" fits perfectly. They're all mid-20s, still trying to figure themselves out. Hence why the first few missions are "for the lulz" and then it gradually gets more and more serious. It doesn't reach WD1 levels of darkness, but it sure comes close.
@@MsYunaFires Agreed. The characters fit this game perfectly, especially if you consider San Francisco as the location. And it adds to the charm of the game too!
@@marktoth5741 and this was developed/released when cringe meme culture was spread all over social media. Go back 5-7 years and go look at some of the memes, it was cringe we were just 7 years younger and didnt notice how cringe it was
So basically, they did improve some gamplay, although some is worse, the story is worse , the protagonist is worse, the antagonist is worse, it's cringy, the comedy is lame. But still you think it was better than the first?
I was excited for watch dogs legion so I played watch dogs 2 to gear myself self towards legions. Once I got my hands on leigons I was like holy shit... This feels like a big downgrade in most respects. No protagonist to engage with. Everyone is pretty much expendable and forgettable. They tried to save face by brings Aidan and the face mask guy but by that time it was already too late and I didn't care for it. Not only did watch dogs 2 looked great but it played really good as well.
I don't see the difference? The main characters in wd2 may as well not be there but wrench and josh so the story isn't even much different in that respect, like I usually get sad when even the smallest character dies but I was literally happy when Horatio died because it was 1 boring ass character out of the way
I was 16 when this game released, and for some reason I just remembered it forcing me to use the RC car and Quadcopter but…no, those are just two of many many ways you can tackle every scenario. So cool.
So, I keep hearing the criticism of this game that it doesn’t seem like Marcus would be gunning people down And frankly, you don’t have to One of my favorite things was going in non-lethal. Ghosting in with my bots. Wasn’t till a certain character met his end that I got a little more lethal. Turned it into kind of this fun puzzle game. And really fit the characters. And occasionally things would get out of hand, and there I’d have to defend with lethal means or there’d be collateral damage. And it also kinda fits this happy band of idiots being in over their heads.
Honestly i know the story is fiction but lets be hypothetical for a second, how many times have a band of "idiots" exposed a personal freedom that was being exploited for money. If they didn't at least try, then sheep would just run right into the furnace.
@@kensmechanicalaffair oh yeah. That’s why I liked it But makes it plausible that things would sometimes get out of hand and there’d be some collateral damage (**Mr Robot) I really like the characters cuz I think they’re exactly what Millennials and GenZ are kinda like or want to be like. Yeah let’s fuck up some evil people in power, but yknow memes, too
On the point that Ubisoft games aren’t as pretty anymore, I agree. If you compare Watch Dogs Legion to AC Valhalla, the art style for those games are almost exactly the same. Miss when their games were more like this.
Favorite ubisoft game that gives me the punk in cyberpunk vibe. They managed to make a black protagonist that exists in a vibrant contemporary with a decent story. The gameplay is fantastic and ingaging for stealth or aggressive play. The characters felt like people I'd want to share real time with the way they expressed their passion for the work they did in different ways utilizing their backgrounds. Definitely the best underatted ubisoft title that deserves a 2nd or 3rd playthrough.
I loved WD2, the missions were so cool (like secret society mansions, google office, buildings, etc. The music was amazing they even had a collab with Megadeth. It was a goofier version of WD1 and I liked that it didn’t take itself seriously! Yeah characters were a bit cringy but I still loved the game. Gameplay was also a solid 9/10
I understand that people like story and look into characters and everything, but in terms of gameplay and the amount of things you can do on this game is definitely overlooked. Super fucking underrated.
This was the best game of the series hands down.... I felt the same way like most people...I didn't feel like Marcus was a killer so I played the whole game with a stun gun or non-lethal weapons....
The playlist option for this game, allows you to pick from a ton of really good music while you take down enemies. It was my favorite part. Really underrated series, I’m interested in replaying WDL.
This game is extremely cringe somtimes but that makes it super charming to me, it doesn't feel too out of place. One thing ubisoft has always been really good at was recreating worlds, the ac and wd series are probably the best examples. Honestly I think even their newer games have great worlds(when applicable), sadly the gameplay just isn't on par with them a lot of the time. Still just running/driving around in syndicate, unity, wd2 or the crew are some of my favorite things when I just want a chill experience. Oh and this game had some pretty cool co-op stuff too, I remember sitting on the golden gate bridge with a friend and just murdering waves of cops and bounty hunters. Good times.
I love playing the hacking invasion thing for some reason haha. It's a shame that the main missions aren't playable with a friend or random person that would of made this game a 10/10 for me as the Co op specific missions just aren't up to par. But it is fun to roam around the city getting chased by the police with a friend.
Honestly, the best place to hold up against the cops was the Nudle/UA-cam campus HQ. Lots of open space and buildings with different elevated areas really helped against larger numbers. Lol 😂👍
Got the first Watch Dogs as a gift. Never finished because the game never caught my attention. I tried my hand at Watch Dogs 2 and loved the story and characters but I just bought Legion and it’s hands down my favorite. I never would have thought of London for an open world but it works so well. I’m hooked
I'm actually happy to hear you liked legion. I wish I did it, 2 was my favorite. I think the beginning just really left me feeling bad. I wished they didn't kill off the first guy we started as.
I will say as someone from Oakland IRL the map is pretty good. The layout of where things are compared to each other is often wrong but overall a pretty good representation. also, motorized boats like that are not common at lake Merritt
They just added this game to Xbox Game Pass, i highly HIGHLY recommend that anybody who hasn’t played it, play it immediately! It is an excellent game, and an absolute blast to play through
I’m started playing watch dogs 2 for the first time yesterday and man I’m actually amazed at how good this game is. Already one of my favorite open world games I’ve played.
I think alot of people are seeing games that game out a few years ago and realising they took them for granted. Like complaining about games has become it's own form of content and the community kind of just got addicted to it, not sayting all games are perfect but we had it better than we currently do for sure
Lately I have been playing a lot of old Ubisoft games back again, Splinter Cell Blacklist, multiple Assassins Creeds, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, WD2, Far Cry 3, and I came to the conclusion, that Ubisoft was behind the majority of my favourite games of all time. That special flavour, that special touch and feeling while playing those games man, I can’t lay my finger on it and I know for a fact that it isn’t just nostalgia. Maybe it’s the care that has neen put into those games, the care for interesting storylines and characters, your surroundings and the world you’re playing, idk. But one thing is for sure, it’s very rare to come across it these days.
Ubisoft games are all over the new PS Plus game catalog and i’m also playing their mid 2010’s games now. Started with Watch Dogs 1 and now Ghost Recon Wildlands, AC Unity. I know Ubisoft is a meme now a days but when they make good games , they’re friggin good. Im not speaking from nostalgia either since i never played these games before.
I loved both of the Division games. I'm a little upset they made the new one on mobile. I haven't tried it yet tho, maybe it's good and I could always just screen share to the TV.
I like the fact that 2 is lighter, since it's more about getting people active against Blume and ctOS, so I think it's worth it to be a lot less serious
Its one of the best games for me, because everything in this game suits my preferences so well. The only reason why I stopped playing it was because I have explored almost every corner of the map due to how kind of small the map is.
I love Watch Dogs 2 so much man. I've played it on and off since it came out and I always get reminded of how good of a game it is. Watch Dogs Legion is just meh and not as vibrant as this game. Plus the Watch Dogs 2 controls are way better than the Watch Dogs Legion controls.
Marcus is actually underrated. He impresses Dedsec so much that they recruit him and then he becomes their defacto leader and even BEFORE Deadsec, he's wanted for a litany of hacktavist crimes, has his own contacts in the mayor's office and just overall has the confidence to back it all up.
This game is so fun, and the open world is really amazing. Pretty, very alive, lots of fun stuff to do and it's a perfect example that you don't need huge maps.
Watch dogs 2 is one of my favorite games. I just love the vibe that this game pass and the history is pretty interesting and fun (I also love stealth games). Its not amazing, but is a really good game and have a place in my heart
I know exactly what you mean! I feel like it’s more apparent with the Far Cry games. Like the cinematics in 3, 4, and Primal look very high budget for their time, but 5, and especially 6 seem to be really lacking in the cinematics. Idk if it’s a lack of budget or meeting a release window restraining them, but their cutscenes don’t have the high production values anymore. It’s so weird though because the actual worlds are still quite pretty. I feel like the most significant downgrade is the facial animations just looking off.
Arguably a top 5 game from 2016, along with titanfall 2, uncharted 4, probably doom, dishonered 2,etc. Watchdogs is some of the most under appreciated franchises of all time
I think what makes the world so good is that every place is unique. There are no copy pasted buildings and the people feel like they really do stuff. For example when something happens without your influence, just something between two citizens. An example would be a guy smashing the car of another person with a baseball bat and then the police is called and arrests him. In general the city feels alive. Sure, some interactions are cringe or feel forced, no doubt about that, but even those partly cringe actions turn the peds into more than just random people which do nothing but walking around for no reason.
it's weird WD1 has always been one of my fav games and my preferred in the franchise due to Aiden. The thing is tho the second I loaded up WD2 I was hit with a wave of nostalgia and when I got into the gameplay I had forgotten just how amazing WD2 is. overall it's probably a better game even if you prefer the first like me because the gameplay is so much better.
The game world is amazing here, like random shit happening all the time, fist fight, shootout, people straight up hitting cars with a bat. Love this game
Watch dogs 2 is addictive the art style, the gameplay, the music everything about is just perfect the characters can be cringey at times but it gives them unique charm and I like the upbeat vibe It's probably Ubisoft's most underrated game
Watch dogs 2 is underrated, played it again last year and i have to say : as much as i loved Aiden, Chicago and the dark story, watch dogs 2 is almost an upgrade of everything
Honestly I can't tell you how hyped I was for this and when it came the countless hours I put into it it's just a great game to put on and have fun with
I agree on the point that Marcus doesn't seem like a killer. Even though i did gun my way through San Francisco and make an absolute joke of the security teams and gangs, I felt like it had zero impact because it's just never talked about. Like the story just assumes you're not killing anyone, which is nice for people who aren't as good at the stealth in WD2, but for a game that prides itself on play styles... Meh.
Still one of the best co-op games I've ever played. My buddy and I played the shit out of this game back in the day, just going around doing everything we could. It's kinda like a fresh GTA online.
Watch Dogs legion isn't a bad game, it's actually hyper fun in small bursts but it has completely lost what made Watch Dogs good in the first place. The hacking is severely downgraded from 2. That being said WatchDogs losing its identity started with 2 1 was a masterpiece in storytelling. People condemned it for having a boring protagonist but Aiden is literally the deepest character in the entire series. The campaign is a showing of his slow decent into madness over the guilt that consumes him. He comes up with every justification under the son for his punisher levels of violence he inflicts on anyone who crosses him, I mean the guys nephew is kidnapped so he erases a a town's worth hired men just to send a message. Watch Dogs 2 is amazing but the story and characters suck, they're fun on the surface level but anything deeper than that and they fall apart. They're meant to be hippie hackers (dumb, what happened to the grit and realism) but Markus goes on cop killing rampages and murders hundreds of gang members during the campaign but nobody acknowledges it for the sake of the story being consistent which it just isn't
WD 1 was literally being batman and that was the whole point of WD it would be the same thing as gta without the hacking and the serious missions and stuff, but WD 2 is just a couple of teenagers fuck around in the city and do whatever they want. The ga e is for a another whole group of people.
The multiplayer for this game was surprisingly fun too. I had so many great times where my friend and I were frantically trying to escape from a bounty hunter by car, boat, shootout, whatever. One thing I disliked was that escaping from the police was a fucking chore, way too long and drawn out
I would love if they brought this to switch one day. I doubt it but on that little system this would be really fun. Even the first game would be really nice.
Im totally downloading this game it looks fun people always said it sucked .. I cant believe people hated this game ... Ima also get the first one cause that totally few over my head too also because people said it sucked .. Do people just not like ubisoft?
Great game. Specially map design, npc design, car design amazing. Car Physics little arcade but still fun. Ubisoft always create great maps, amazing npcs and amazing open world. But they always make mediocre story and theme. imagine detailed RPG game like this, Mixed with Mad max, Days gone, State of Decay 2 and Watch dogs 2. it's just will be amazing. Ubisoft open world detail, map and npc detail always amazing but their theme always mediocre. Still Watch dogs 2 great game and must play.
Watchdogs 2 is hands down the best in the series, granted some of the characters were kinda cringy but not horrible and some were pretty funny and felt like you could connect in some ways with them and their backstories! The map design was amazing from the richer neighborhoods, the busy business districts, the Silicon Valley all the way over to the poorer areas on the east side of the map all had their own feels and designs. The soundtrack was really good, seemed to be more features than you could ever get bored with and so on! My only complaints I can think of is sometimes the song psychics could be pretty crazy watching stuff sometimes flying into space when you hit it with a car, and the wanted system seems OP sometimes that just when you thought you lost the cops it’s like they use the force and find you in the craziest places so when you need to lose them to finish or start a mission it just drags it out a bit too long
I think a big part of why WD2 wasn't liked at the time but is more respected now is due to the general landscape of modern-day game development. At the time of launch, it was compared to other open world games. Witcher 3 hadn't been out long, Skyrim was still fairly fresh in people's memories, Far Cry was still good and generally, other games on the market all had their own interesting mechanics.... In comparison, WD2 just wasn't that exciting. Fast-forward nearly a decade and the picture is very different. Most games these days are cookie-cutter games that follow a standard formula. If you go back and play WD2 now and compare it to games from recent years, it stands out as having an interesting world and some decent mechanics that are different to what we're used to seeing. Because of the law of diminishing returns, the graphics still look good to this day (not something that was the case if you played an 8 year old game back in 2016). Compared to your average game from the past few years, WD2 stands well above them so people view it through a different lens and can have fun with it.
I still comeback to watchdogs 2 because I love wrench hus relationship with Marcus is so fun. The only time I killed in watchdogs 2 was getting the guys who hurt Horatio that's when I went on the warpath.

The best NPCs are from rdr2
There was one bot in front of the church who beats his girlfriend every time you go there I kept trying to get him caught in the act so much fun
Yes you are right
Honestly loved the more colorful and goofy tone of the second game.
I couldn't see Marcus killing anyone until seeing what happened to his friend Horatio.
This was the moment I broke the guns out
@@DennisShanaberg I'd been blowing away cops with the aa12 for hours by that point.
Horatios death was meaningless
@@BarnieHanders Maybe but Horatio was my dawg 😂 I really appreciated the writing for that character.
@@DennisShanaberg Same here. I just would stun gun people and felt weird as a hackvist type person to be killing people but started blasting mofos after that.
Back in like late 2020-early 2022 I was SUPER into wd2 it was my heart and soul
This game should be WAY more popular than it is in my opinion cuz honestly there's just so much to love about it
Also Josh,Wrench and Horatio should get their own separate game
Am sorry but Horatio? He was generic made to die character
The main theme of the game is so addictive the sandbox feeling of 2 is absolutely amazing and I love how the dlcs give u more then just missions making them useful it’s ashame there were only 2 dlcs it would’ve been nice to have an expansion
Is watch dogs 2 only third person
It had 3 dlc's and had I think 2 co-op missions dlc's
@@AgentLemmon I do. The style, cringy characters, San Francisco and memorably average characters give it's charm. And I do like it more.
Not only did watch dogs 2 looked great but it played really good as well.
legion was cool but not what the fans wanted, I stopped playing it pretty quickly even though I enjoyed it
I don't see the difference? The main characters in wd2 may as well not be there but wrench and josh so the story isn't even much different in that respect, like I usually get sad when even the smallest character dies but I was literally happy when Horatio died because it was 1 boring ass character out of the way
Fun Fact: there’s only 15 Main Missions in the game, the amount of story based side missions made me think there was way more missions
No lol 15 operations each with their own set of missions so it'd actually more
@@drippyog3935 no, I’m right

This game was a 9/10, it was so much fun. Feels like it was one of the last games Ubisoft actually put some effort into it.
I was 16 when this game released, and for some reason I just remembered it forcing me to use the RC car and Quadcopter but…no, those are just two of many many ways you can tackle every scenario. So cool.
So, I keep hearing the criticism of this game that it doesn’t seem like Marcus would be gunning people down
And frankly, you don’t have to
One of my favorite things was going in non-lethal.
Same, was trying to not kill anyone until 'that' happened and I went from Batman to The Punisher playthrough real quick.
Honestly i know the story is fiction but lets be hypothetical for a second, how many times have a band of "idiots" exposed a personal freedom that was being exploited for money. If they didn't at least try, then sheep would just run right into the furnace.
@@kensmechanicalaffair oh yeah. That’s why I liked it
But makes it plausible that things would sometimes get out of hand and there’d be some collateral damage
(**Mr Robot)
I really like the characters cuz I think they’re exactly what Millennials and GenZ are kinda like or want to be like. Yeah let’s fuck up some evil people in power, but yknow memes, too
@@DennisShanaberg They're just an offshoot of Gen x'ers and boomers. Fight the power, free love, all that jazz.
Unsatisfying electric guns = WD2 | Unsatisfying electric bikes = TCGR - Breakpoint
On the point that Ubisoft games aren’t as pretty anymore, I agree. If you compare Watch Dogs Legion to AC Valhalla, the art style for those games are almost exactly the same. Miss when their games were more like this.
Watch Dogs 2 is my favorite game. Love "hacking" into other peoples games seamlessly ans trolling them like a ghost
Me too ma men jsjsjs
Btw:Wanna play watch Dogs 2?? If you are from Ps4 perfect

I love Marcus and the parkour in this game
“We’re gonna hit em where it gigahertz” is one of the worst things I’ve ever heard 😭
this line aged me 5 years
This was the best game of the series hands down....
It fits the San Francisco vibe, i feel like most San Franciscans are naturally cringe
@@aceman0000099 True.

You should give WD1 another try man. To me it’s the best in the series. The story and gritty dark vibe just gives that game an edge over the others
Watch dogs 2 has Wrench which makes it infinitely better than games that don't have wrench
I will say as someone from Oakland IRL the map is pretty good. The layout of where things are compared to each other is often wrong but overall a pretty good representation. also, motorized boats like that are not common at lake Merritt
@@TupacAintNoBitxh yeah, its kinda disapointing but I also understand they have map size limitations, and are working with what they have
Only thing that disappointed me was there's no BART, they had the Chicago rail but didn't add Bart to this game rip
They just added this game to Xbox Game Pass, i highly HIGHLY recommend that anybody who hasn’t played it, play it immediately! It is an excellent game, and an absolute blast to play through
I agree 100%
I’m started playing watch dogs 2 for the first time yesterday and man I’m actually amazed at how good this game is. Already one of my favorite open world games I’ve played.
I think alot of people are seeing games that game out a few years ago and realising they took them for granted.
Like complaining about games has become it's own form of content and the community kind of just got addicted to it, not sayting all games are perfect
but we had it better than we currently do for sure
Yeah they don't make games like it used to anymore
Graphics in WatchDogs 2 is always underrated specially the skies and water and beaches
Yes
Honestly this game is probably one of my favorite from the ps4 Era, even now you can still run into people on the online
1:13 You’re welcome
my personal favorite game of all time
I know exactly what you mean!
I love the smooth freerunning in this game
Could never get into Watch Dogs 2, I liked the more serious tone of the first one. The open world is beautiful though.
they really went from DC to Marvel
same same
Arguably a top 5 game from 2016, along with titanfall 2, uncharted 4, probably doom, dishonered 2,etc.
I agree, Marcus looks much more like an actual hacker and much less like the vigilante killer like Aiden was
it's weird WD1 has always been one of my fav games and my preferred in the franchise due to Aiden.
Best game in the series, wish they continued like this
Watch dogs 2 is addictive the art style, the gameplay, the music everything about is just perfect the characters can be cringey at times but it gives them unique charm and I like the upbeat vibe
It's probably Ubisoft's most underrated game
Peak millenial humor
Watch dogs 2 is underrated, played it again last year and i have to say : as much as i loved Aiden, Chicago and the dark story, watch dogs 2 is almost an upgrade of everything
Watch Dogs 2 is my favorite. It has the best cars, environment and gameplay imo. Watch dogs 1 has the best story tho.
Honestly I can't tell you how hyped I was for this and when it came the countless hours I put into it it's just a great game to put on and have fun with
Watchdogs 2 was my first game that i completed ever it was such a special experience
Meh.
"grove street, home" wheres our san andreas in 2022 @?
I loved this game too, feel like it was a big step up compared to the first
it was a big setp down in terms if story/narrative and memorable characters. it's just feels like it's a cleaner and family friendly version of WD1
this my fav game of all time (so it might be bias) but the graphics, story, and mechanics still hold up today. Also the best Ubisoft game imo
I bought it during steam summer sale. Can’t wait to play it when I have time
Still one of the best co-op games I've ever played. My buddy and I played the shit out of this game back in the day, just going around doing everything we could. It's kinda like a fresh GTA online.
This game is gem! Ignore this guy’s mocking goofy voice, the game is actually insane!
10:06 man really shouted me out and didnt even know it
Watch Dogs legion isn't a bad game, it's actually hyper fun in small bursts but it has completely lost what made Watch Dogs good in the first place.
The hacking is severely downgraded from 2.
That being said WatchDogs losing its identity started with 2
1 was a masterpiece in storytelling.
The ga e is for a another whole group of people.
gotta love your vids man, your voice and the way you playing was really enjoyable 😉

Even the first game would be really nice.
this was like one of the first games that ubisoft had released that was actually close to what they had advertised

It’s an underrated gem of video game entertainment
My only complaints I can think of is sometimes the song psychics could be pretty crazy watching stuff sometimes flying into space when you hit it with a car, and the wanted system seems OP sometimes that just when you thought you lost the cops it’s like they use the force and find you in the craziest places so when you need to lose them to finish or start a mission it just drags it out a bit too long
"Grove Street, home."
🤣🤣🤣
I actually started wheeze laughing I did not see that coming
My favorite moment was, when he said "it's hacking time" and hacked all over those guys.
I like how this actually could have happened
I still comeback to watchdogs 2 because I love wrench hus relationship with Marcus is so fun. The only time I killed in watchdogs 2 was getting the guys who hurt Horatio that's when I went on the warpath.
