My brother and I really enjoyed playing Wildlands together. When Breakpoint came out on release we were super disappointed at the state of the game. We loved the mechanics, but the game was just simply broken, sometimes almost unplayable. After implementing immersive mode, the game is the best its ever been, aside from its empty world. Better played with friend imo.
Brah they added so much to the game. There’s more modes. There’s conquest mode if you liked wildlands so much. There’s modes that changes the scenery of the game. The only thing I don’t like about this game is the way nomad runs down hill. 😂 It’s so annoying. Its realistic but a slight slope will cause him to sprint like he’s scared. And don’t let there be some obstructions in the way. He’ll have to take time to climb over them. All while losing stamina. 🤦♂️
Fun fact about this game, right at the start after jon bernthals character shoots weaver, when it return to gameplay, you can actually shoot and kill Jon bernthals character if you're quick enough before he gets into the helicopter, and if you do it changes a bunch of cutscenes later in the game
ubisoft, for all of its shortcomings, has real knack for doing stuff like that--the 'secret' ending to Far Cry 4 where you just wait for Pagan and enjoy the rangoons or the slightly more secret ending to 5 where you walk away from Joseph at the beginning

I remember playing this game when it launched and it was horrible. Drones everywhere, no teammates, obnoxious coughing guy at the hub base, not even allowed to land helicopters on buildings (always slid me off and made me die). Now that we actually have all the features that were in Wildlands five years ago I might try again. I still really don't like the map at all though.
@@reallyhimongod I tried wildlands after playing this recently and I can't get into it anymore. At this point the only things wildlands has this doesn't, is offline mode, a desert biome which is my favorite, and decent team mate conversations.
I tested like the alpha version of the game, and in the private forums EVERYONE was begging them to change the game to include some of the best features from Wildlands and remove the levelled gear, warning the devs that it would flop if they didn't. Unsurprisingly, nothing changed (except for making it simpler and more casual), and the game flopped. They eventually implemented some of the changes the alpha testers begged them to do from the first test YEARS later. Imagine if they had actually listened, and the game started out like this, and then built on that foundation.
I honestly can’t express how much more fun this game is than it was on launch. Tweaking the settings to make it as mil-sim as possible and it is so incredible. My only complaint is how empty the island can feel & the AI is mind numbingly predictable. I genuinely enjoy it more than Wildands… and that is a badass game.
When they added immersive mode this game went from 2/10 to solid 6-7/10. I wish enemies AI was better and that they would use some tactics, instead of just coming in a truck every time.
Immersive mode plus the addition of teammates, the enhancements to immersive mode added in late 2020 and 21, as well as operations motherland relatively recently it’s become at least a 7.5/10 (personally it’s an 8/10 and has surpassed Wildlands for me)
Dude this game was always good. Just got a buggy release like AC Unity. But it has so much cool stuff, the realism/survival aspect is pretty cool and, c'mon, we got the freaking Punisher. Jon Bernthal kills it in this game. I hope he wasn't discouraged of working in games because of the bad reviews this one got.
I love breakpoint, I recently decided to go to no hud and some realism filters, I spent half an hour taking photos in the same spot after an hour of infiltrating cliffside bases
I have 1,000+ hours in this game, started playing once they introduced immersive mode and it's only gotten better since then. If you tweak the settings it's a fantastic experience. Great to see you cover this and enjoy it so much!
Wouldn't say it's underrated. It has cool ideas that you can pretend are executed well. End of the day its a looter shooter first so immersive mode feels like an afterthought. The story is also so damn awful, and anticlimatic like holy shit. But what gets me are the BLAND AI teammates with no personality that were added in later, never showing up in cutscenes, never anything interesting to say between trips, just complete silence. Dont get me started an having to constantly revist the hospital. As a solo player that wants to be fully immersed in a game, especially ghost recon, it lacks greatly on the immersion front.
@@mythically_odd I think that Ubi didn’t include much dialogue for AI teammates + kept them out of cutscenes because you can deactivate any of them at any time. I guess it would complicate things, and perhaps require dialogue to be rewritten in accordance with the player’s choices along the way. And many of the cutscenes are pre-rendered, again it would be very complicated.
@@leeturner8023 well yea ofcourse, they were an afterthought...in a game series well known for having an AI squad to command. yes i can turn them off but at that point am I playing splinter cell or ghost recon? The game doesn't know. Again, I understand the operator fantasy the game gives off. If you play pretend hard enough it is VERY FUN, I just wished the game actually played like we pretend It does on those cool immersive tactical youtube videos of the game. I appreciate teammates were eventually added, it was still half assed IMO. Wildlands just did a better job at immersing you in that aspect. It felt like a team, saying things relevant to whatever mission your doing. Both however do a bad job at squad commands and dynamics and overall being clunky. I can go on about all the things Breakpoint could've done better including not being a looter shooter by default, but I'm not even sure well get another ghost recon at this point.
can’t say i’ve ever enjoyed this game as much as wildlands. i played the beta and quickly figured out you can just slap a suppressor on anything and wipe out bases without the enemy even knowing you’re there. played it for like 3 hours and didn’t bother buying it lol.
It's still the same, they just removed drones and added russians.. Guns still feel like garbage, the sound design feels off and the AI is just retarded even on the highest difficulty with no hud or alerts.. I bought it, gave It about 15 hours in total and just uninstalled it.
I just recently played through Wildlands and jumped straight into this game. It’s actually pretty fun, better with Co-op. All the updates were better. The gear score was cool to try new weapons, but no gear score just made me stick to my same gun for dang near the entire game. I definitely have been enjoying the Conquest mode over the base game
As others said, the game has alot of potential with the immersive mode. Main issue for me at this point is the setting, im not really a fan of this empty island full of drones and whatever, Wildlands felt so much more natural.
I think Bolivia is much better of a setting but at the same time I don't dislike Aurora. My problem is the story I wish it focused much more on walker and let us join him as an option idk how that'd work though. However the gameplay beats Wildlands by a longshot for me which is what I look for mostly
This game is great with custom settings. See, I’m from the Milsim side of FPS games. Ya know, ArmA 3. I love Immersive mode, I made the load outs super limited, super limited drones, and Max injuries. I’ve also forced myself into NO fast travel. The most fun I have in this game is actually just walking to my objective. I have spend hours just walking dozens of kilometers to my objective. The way you walk through terrain in this game is stunning and mechanically interesting, and making your way through dozens of kilos of enemy territory using whatever at your disposal to evade, escape, and reach my objective is the best. Bonus points if you use historically accurate kit if possible.
The game is great overall it’s just small things I wish they had implemented like letting your teammates drive you or fly you around, or the customization color of the grip or barrel of the gun, stuff like that
Finished playing it recently after wildlands and turned off the crazy drone setting and i had a blast with the game honestly. The gunplay definitely feels nice
Fun Fact: at 27:28 the two enemies trying to get to Jace Skell will let out some funny dialogue lines if you listen to what they’re saying. At the end one of them got annoyed with the other and said “Please stop.”
I played this game in beta and it was barely even playable, like the multiplayer was so broken that I had a friend who on my screen was just sat in the floor in the same place for the entire time. Played it again recently and it's so much better now with the conquest mode and the no gear level.
My friend and I started playing this game again recently since Wildland servers are low. We play with the enemies on the hardest difficulty, and also the tactical equip on hardest with no hud. I’m telling you, if you do this, it’s a game changer!!
Yeah, no.. They barely used him, you're just going around an empty and bland island fighting his brain dead goons just to see him in stupid and boring cinematic flashbacks until you actually fight him or take him out at the beginning since the AI is just retarded.
I have 350 hours on ghost recon bp, and i am done with it now. But the military spec op fantasy of a teenager was definitely fulfilled especially after the immersive mode. And you should definitely do operation motherland once you finish the main story.
Most of people complaining about Aurora being empty. But playing in Aurora feels like you are being hunted. Drones and soldiers around the island, those survival elements and playing on extreme difficulty without hud makes it the most immersive open world tactical shooter out there. Aurora is not actually empty there are wild animals. I didn’t remember wildlands had any wild animals or creatures besides humans only there was wildlands but no wild animals. Aurora is a isolated wild island and Bolivia is a civilised country.
Those complaining haven’t played on tweaked settings or played on immersive and it shows.. this is one of those games that it entirely different on a higher difficulty.. it’s a great game-even by 2024 standards
This game is better than Wildland’s now. Especially with the conquest mode. As a Marine infantryman, there’s a few things I’d change: - Laser shouldn’t activate unless sighted in. Definitely shouldn’t be shining at your feet. In real life we would attach a pressure switch and train to push pressure switch when engaging. We’re also issued the PEQ-16, which means we have visible flashlight and laser, IR flashlight and laser, and high powered laser for marking targets for air or indirect fire support. We’d also have the ability to put filters on the laser to mark targets and things of that sort. For example a filter might make the laser appear as a triangle so you can direct fire from your automatic weapons or designated marksmen. - I wish I could lesson the frequency of the IR drones that patrol. There’s no way they could cover that amount of ground that often. I also wish there was more AI involved than if you don’t hit the prone and do their natural camo feature, the drone will see you. For example, I was talking to civilians when one of these drones saw me and marked my position. How did the drone differentiate me from the civilians I was talking to? The enemies that came only engaged me. - Wish there was a feature like a watch on the wrist that you could look at for positioning, compass, etc like in Metro Exodus. I like to have a compass for direction but don’t want it displayed on my HUD. Takes away from the immersion. Wish the enemy positioning was more thought out. One thing about Wildlands that was better was the enemy AI. They actually had rotating posts, would perform various daily activities when not on watch, etc. I also wish the game had a more thoughtful enemy progression system. For example early in the game you might be tasked with seizing less well fortified bases where the enemies aren’t as well trained. Then as you progressed in the game you would be tasked with infiltrating more fortified locations with increased security. For example there should be more than one enemy manning entry/exit control points. There should be more than one guy on watch up in the towers. Avenues of approach would be covered by automatic weapons systems, etc. just seems like the enemies are haphazardly placed in the vicinity of objectives with no real purpose. Overall, this is a great game with the added immersion mode. And Conquest with the Russians makes for a much better scenario.
Funny that this tends to happen a lot with Ubisoft games huh. On release it's a wave of "it's bad, boring and creatively bankrupt", 2 years later videos like this start showing up. "Oh turns out it's awesome!"
I love this game. I got the ultimate edition (normally $120 which is ridiculous) for $19 on epic games and I removed all hud elements, put difficulty on max and removed quest markers. It became such an organic play style where I have to really take my time. For instance most missions tell you your target lives south of blah blah mountain or whatever so you go building to building clearing out everything in that general area until you find your target. I started counting shots so I don’t waste ammo when reloading too. The team size is up to four but you can reduce it to 2 for a stealthier mission. I kinda hate the team AI tho they always run off so I’m constantly telling them to regroup. Another thing is the game modes. Aside from immersive mode there is custom world parameters you can set where it’s only terminators in the world, or guerrilla factions, or poison clouds around the world so you have to scavenge around for gas mask filters. Idk it’s just really cool
Truth be told, this game was garbage when it launched. The classic formula of Ubisoft (All of their games look the same, play the same and have the same stuff to do over and over) didn't do any good for the Ghost Recon Franchise. The weapons/loot system straight from DIV 2 was pure trash, but the next updates that allowed you to change that was amazing (Immersive mode is the best GR experience possible, besides the Spartan MOD for PC). Operation Motherland feels more like a complete and interesting game, than the base GR Breakpoint could ever achieve by itself. Also, the amount of options to customize the game to your liking is phenomenal. Not a No Man's Sky, but Ubi did much better for this game during it's lifecycle than for any of they're current franchises
I just noticed this game was free on PlayStation Plus so I decided to give it a shot. Wow I would say it easily has some of my favorite gun mechanics. Each bullet actually feels shot with intent, and you really feel like Rambo haha
Playing this in 2024 (after picking this up at a massive discount) and finding it super enjoyable. So many different ways to play, from casual collectathon to hardcore immersion no HUD stealth-or-die. Sure the cut scenes have those dead-eyed character models we love to hate - and the writing isn't great - but it's a perfect dad game otherwise.
I actually thought that most of the hate for the game was very underserved, used by UA-camrs to hate on something that was popular to hate at the time and to to get views. My biggest gripe with the game is the always online presence, getting disconnected in the middle of long missions because the Ubisoft servers decided to fart.
If you played the game during launch window you'd understand. It was in a totally unfinished state with a lot of absolute brain dead design desicions. No AI companions and no option to turn off drones. I feel like if you have to patch in an option to turn off an enemy you've created because they're so awful to fight, you've made kind of a bad game tbh.
@@Emanouche That much is true. At least they realized and rectified their biggest mistakes instead of abandoning the game in suckage. Glad that Gear Score is gone butno idea how it was in the game to start with lol
Man. This game had so much potential. Really hope they can learn from this game for hopefully another Ghost Recon game. Quality over quantity. Have a more focused main story. Maybe smaller but more dense world. Some interesting characters. Game could be a masterpiece. C'mon Ubisoft. You're almost there. The gunplay is already top notch. Love the customization as well.
I combined a new game in this with the spartan mod and authentic warfare... it just makes the game so much more interesting. I really enjoy the base game despite the issues, they added ai bots (sadly nothing akin to how they built smart AI companions long ago for rainbow six 1-3, Ghost Recon 1 and so on (I hope they start to care about sp AI companions again). I like this game a bit more than Wildlands today. Even if both struggle to give me that feeling of the original and the 2 Graw games on PC. :)
Immersive mode is where you want to feel everything is dangerous and can kill you very fast. not many like this at first but when you get used to the game this give a massive challenge
Tried the regular mode and only way I could make it "fun" was to change weapon or gear to whatever dropped. Think it would have been better for the teammates if we'd had to rescue or meet up with them rather than going from sole survivor of a chopper crash to "hey here's a crew of idiots to pull aggro for you!" But that wouldn't work into coop as easily.
I feel that after Assassin's Creed Origins and Odissey, people were tired of Ubisoft trying to turn all their franchises into RPGs. Didn't help that The Division 2 and Far Cry New Dawn came the exact same year, and people felt the exact same way. Breakpoint is a wonderful experience as a immersive combat simulator, as you can pretty much compeltely modify the entire game into your preferences.
For me, Wildlands and Breakpoint were both a case of "Oh, everybody and their grandmom said this game was trash, guess I'll avoid it" and then I played it years later and loved them both. Oddly enough, that seems to happen a lot with Ubisoft games for me. I LOVED AC:Odyssey (and hated Origins which was the one everybody swore was just amazing and way better than Odyssey) as well. I'm tempted to give The Division and The Division II a shot (if I even can) just to see what happens.
I get a lot of enjoyment out of Ubisoft games, ntm I love the way they look. I haven't played the division games either, I've watched people play them and enemies are bullet sponges but the gun building stuff is pretty cool, also all the grear in general.
so glad to see this video , i bought the game at release and despite wanting to love it bc of jon bernthal being the main villain (and doing a great job to boot) i couldn’t get past the bugs / cluttered ui. came back to it and have dropped near enough 50 hours so far compared to the 6 hours before i dropped it initially. great game.
I enjoyed this game went it went on sale for $15 or $20 earlier this year. I never thought I would sink about 40 or 50 hours into it though. It's got a beautiful environment and the graphics and gameplay are impressive on the newer systems. I'm just doing completely Lone Wolf no squad, no help from online players. A little repetitive but that's UBI for ya
@@bismofunyuns8827 The game is utterly marvellous. IMO it’s all of the Metal Gear games combined, especially since Ubi included the Operation Motherland missions (free). You gotta try the Spartan Mod on PC. Really makes the game FAR more immersive and realistic. Makes the damage output and input more realistic too for both you and enemies. Every parameter is customizable too.

I played this when it launched and finished it without the AI teammate support and damn was it tough. Every base had so many dudes in them and the sync shot was seriously missed. I did the play the game when they brought in AI teammates but the fun of the game was over. But they made a lot of changes based on feedback and you have to give them credit where its due. For anyone playing for the first time now the experience is a lot more enjoyable now.
As much as I love the addition of immersive mode, the map and quests were so unbelievably boring and felt like a chore. Mechanically, it does a lot of things better than Wildlands but Bolivia absolutely poops on Aurora
Yes, Bolivia is truly one of the best open worlds we got in gaming history - if it had more gameplay interaction... (sitting In a bar, overhearing enemy soldiers for Intel stuff like that...)
Immersive mode kinda fun but it kills boss encounters. In the first episode I was like, "wait, where's the boss?" after the fight ends. But turns out, the first guy I headshot right off the cutscene ends IS the boss. One shot is all it took. And I was playing on Advance.
I just wish this game had an offline mode😭 for comfort reasons lol weather tends to send me in outages here and there and the game is dead weight unless iv already been playing
This was one of many games that fell to the stupidity of the masses. Everyone making the same argument of it being unrealistic only to go play forthype
The only gripe I had with this game is the setting, wasn’t a huge fan up the futuristic setting and all the drones. Wish it was a bit more grounded. But the gameplay and customization is great
How is it not grounded? Look at Silicon Valley.. realistically Elon could have an island very similar & weaponized drones of this magnitude have been around for about a decade. Trust, it’s grounded.
Honestly, although it’s not on the same scale I think all of the updates made have improved this game significantly in the same fashion that no man’s sky and battlefront 2 have been improved (still the biggest issue is that the games requires an online connection to play the story though)
It would be cool if you try it with inmersive mode but: with few bandages, disable 98% of the HUD leave only objective on (that way you wont spend an entire day just to locate a paper info xD), max injury, one rifle. The game turns into a more challenge more fun, and you wont be able to do rambo style because 2 shots kills you. Oh and disable the map even the compass which is useless. Totally would like to see you try the game that way.
They do decent with the weapons but I hate when a game gets the optic wrong. Why so many games use that cheap Amazon special airsoft optic is beyond me? Could use something, anything other than the optic that lets you switch from 4 different reticles with a switch in the back😂
My husband and I absolutely enjoyed the heck out of Wildlands. One of our top coop games. By comparison, Breakpoint was so disappointing when it came out. But coming back to it in 2022 and will give it another try after watching this :)
Have you tried the Conquest dlc? The Russians have optical camo which renders them invisible (like the zebra looking outfit you tried on before you created your character). And you can get your own optical camo! There's also weapon mastery after you get all the skills unlocked.
This is what happens when you play a game and don't let the media cloud your perception of it. You just take it for what it is, you either have fun or you don't. Plain and simple.
Got about 400 hours in this one and still play it. Its the best milisim to date that still holds up. As long as the next one does everything that Breakpoint did good it'll sell good. They need to stop catering to casuals though, its suppose to be hard and high maintenance
It's a great game in immersive mode. I play PVP on GRWL and I keep telling the players on their that breakpoint is great. Most played the game once in 2020 when it sucked then gave up.
Just got the deluxe on sale for 30... I can tell I'll be playing immersive mode for awhile. I really wish they would have doubled down on the survival aspects. Crossing my finger ubisoft expands in the next one.
Got breakpoint earlier this year and I honestly love it. I’ve played mgs5 and my friend told me about breakpoint and later on in the year I got it back in July. I’ve finished the main story and the other two and I love the game. Such a good one. I’ve played wildlands I’m a little biased about breakpoint v wildlands but I still like both just about equally.
I like the gameplay for breakpoint a lot just didn't care for the story or lotter shooter aspect. I hope to see mechanics like prone camo return though
If Jace Skells voice sounds familiar that is because he is voiced by Rodney Mullen the former pro skater. Yes that's right, Jace Skell is voiced by the land god himself.
This happens to a lot of games, we only seems to remember it being way better than we remembered because the devs have already released some patches to fix the major issues it had. Try playing literally any ubisoft game in the last 10 years or so WITHOUT ANY PATCHES installed, and I guarantee you it will be just as bad as you remember it to be. Breakpoint became a literal breakpoint because everything was broken and buggy, and(still is) massively empty without a friend to play with.
Immersive mode with the highest difficulty and a coop pal made this game an absolute heart-stopping experience… especially the damn behemoths lol. Even with rockets they are a bitch to takedown.
If you ever go back to wildlands you should play either the predator dlc because wow that is so cool or the splinter cell dlc because again it's just so sick

Thinking about getting this so you recommend it?

Jayvee stereotypical military movie guy voice: "tango down, evac, charlie fox drop, infiltrate annihilate objective"
"Hell yeah brother!"
I wish he'd had to grunt every time he wanted to fire his weapon(s). That would've made it even more realistic.
I love the dirt and mud camo makes it seem less like the enemies are blind when you crawl and more like you are actually hiding
Really underrated game! Absolutely love this game especially the realism mode, and Conquest is sick!!!
Yup, it’s one of the few games that’s kept me addicted for past couple of years, and I’m still discovering new content.
It's not "UNdErRaTeD".
It's rated right where it needs to be.
"historically accurate kit" Dude this isn't an historical game at all...
Imo it's just a worse version of arms 3 antistasi
this game fucking blows. you're insane if you genuinely think this game is "underrated."
John Bernthal was great in this game. They captured all of his facial expressions perfectly.
Only online games suck. This is why I prefer Wildlands over breakpoint
I feel like the story is more serious but wildlands is way darker and complex but still both great games and I love both of them
Most of people complaining about Aurora being empty.
I'm glad they improved it but when this came out it was depressingly mediocre.
Wildlands was so good . I’m also debating finishing breakpoint also soon 👍
This game is better than Wildland’s now. Especially with the conquest mode. As a Marine infantryman, there’s a few things I’d change:
- Laser shouldn’t activate unless sighted in.
Breakpoint is actually a really good game. I don’t understand why everyone hates on it
I play this game with a bunch of people on this MILSIM special forces server. We like to roleplay soldiers and this game really makes it satisfying
I just noticed this game was free on PlayStation Plus so I decided to give it a shot. Wow I would say it easily has some of my favorite gun mechanics. Each bullet actually feels shot with intent, and you really feel like Rambo haha
Jon Bernthal was totally channeling his inner Frank Castle during his performance in this game. I love it
Playing this in 2024 (after picking this up at a massive discount) and finding it super enjoyable.
@@nousername2942 I did play it at launch, I still don't think it was as bad as described by many. But it's also true it's much better now.

Ubi$oft: Release it broken, monetize the hell out of it, fix it later, never take responsibility, repeat.
Players: Buy broken games, complain about them, move on to something else, maybe pick up broken game when "fixed" years later, learn nothing, repeat.
@@Corbomite_Meatballs This is why we can't have nice things. Only a few of us broke out of that cycle but not enough to make a difference.
I haven't played the division games either, I've watched people play them and enemies are bullet sponges but the gun building stuff is pretty cool, also all the grear in general.
definitely get the division 2 !
This is EXACTLY what happened to me. I don't like AC Origins too, I tried to play for 2 times now and I simply can't, but I fucking love Odyssey.

Breakpoint with immersive and absolutely no hud is actually amazing
Aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrr 🤮🔫
It's ok. People say Wildlands is better. It's not. Breakpoint has more focus. Wildlands is Assassin's Creed with guns.
thing that upset me the most at launch was your bullets just disappearing after traveling like 125 yards, couldn’t snipe very effectively
Thank you for giving me an excuse to redownload this game
I've only ever played Wildlands and I love that game. Breakpoint looks very different.
15:37 It was literally 21:39 while I was watching that part, for my time zone, 😂
Pro tip for maximum immersion: TURN ON DARKER NIGHTS SIN THE OPTIONS.
They do decent with the weapons but I hate when a game gets the optic wrong. Why so many games use that cheap Amazon special airsoft optic is beyond me? Could use something, anything other than the optic that lets you switch from 4 different reticles with a switch in the back😂
I’m sure in future titles we’ll see optic & laser customization
My husband and I absolutely enjoyed the heck out of Wildlands. One of our top coop games. By comparison, Breakpoint was so disappointing when it came out. But coming back to it in 2022 and will give it another try after watching this :)

It's a great game in immersive mode. I play PVP on GRWL and I keep telling the players on their that breakpoint is great. Most played the game once in 2020 when it sucked then gave up.

If you consider buying, it is just 12€ on steam until the 30th of January!

The updates saved this game. The devs who worked on BP seriously needs a round of applause.
I am gonna try it again as I left the game halfway through back in 2020
I like the gameplay for breakpoint a lot just didn't care for the story or lotter shooter aspect. I hope to see mechanics like prone camo return though
I would love to replay the terminator storyline in this game
