  • Will have a walk around soon.
This is my 1987 toyota pickup, I bought it as a project truck to turn into a flatbed pickup for my small engine repair business.

nice job! i have one also and want to do the same, like everybody else been racking my brain trying to figure it out. your idea is very simple so thank you. I dont know much about load ratings and pulling power, we have purchased a small camper and wondering if it would pull it okey? it wont weigh over 3,000 pounds, probably closer to 2500 and maybe another 500 pounds of of other stuff but 3k in total. mine is a 1989 with the good axel and engine with only 30k miles on it

Yeah they can pull a small trailer, i still drive it everyday. Thought it is very sluggish with any sort of big loads, i know pulling my boat i can sure feel that weight lol. thanks for commenting! :D

For a while I would just hang it on the side with a zip tie have to cut it off and swing it out to fill up, but then I cut it and just made it stick out the side, I just sold it 6 months ago I’ll get another one sometime

I got some thin steel sheet at a steel place, I cut it to size and used silicone and rivets

How thick was the sheet from top and rear for the rivets you just hammer them down? Also what kind of silicone and rivets do I need thanks for your help I just been breaking my head in how to cover that big hole😂

@@marcemendoza8532 no worries lol, I used 22 gauge steel sheet and just went to the store and got aluminum rivets and a rivet gun, drilled a couple holes around the outside. Put a bead of 100% pure silicone, you could use any silicone I just had that lying around, and dropped the sheet on the silicone and used the rivet gun and riveted the thing down, no leaks so far and I've been driving it for a while now, don't think it will ever leak
