    USA School Supplies FAQs:
    1. Yes, the schools in the USA really do ask parents to buy things.
    2. Yeah, wow, that’s crazy.
    3. No, we don’t like it, either, but that’s life.
    4. A great deal of the money allocated to “education” in the USA never makes it to the teachers, students, and schools for basic supplies. That is not a subject for this channel. We’re here to relax, not debate stuff. You can do that elsewhere. Anyone doing it here will be banned, and your comment will be deleted. I hate to be so harsh, but this is a real problem every year, and I mean to put a stop to it.
    5. No matter what country you live in, you have to pay for dumb things, too.
    6. No, parents are not punished if they either can’t or won't bring in these supplies. No consequences await those who don’t contribute. However, the teachers often have to pay for supplies out of their own pocket when no one provides them - and that can cost a teacher hundreds of dollars a year. Hopefully, by donating these things, we can help prevent at least a little bit of that.
    7. No, nobody cares to hear how awesome your country is right now. This is not a contest. No matter where you live in the world, everyone is struggling. Maybe you can take that all-caps energy and help someone in your area. A little kindness goes a long way.
    8. The Ziploc bags are used for a variety of things in the classroom. It may seem like a strange request, but they come in handy to store little bits of stuff, fragile projects, and dirty clothes, among other things.
    9. The headphones are used for classroom stuff/laptop use. It helps prevent the spread of lice, germs, etc. for each child to have their own set of headphones. Yeah, the school should provide them. No, they often don’t.
    10. I will continue to do these back-to-school shopping trips to help out my community every year, as long as I am financially able to do so. In a perfect world, it wouldn’t be necessary to buy any of these things, but we don’t live in a perfect world. I want to help as many people as I can, for as long as I can.
Now that that’s out of the way, let’s relax and enjoy some shopping. 😊

Agree with all of it. Yes it’s a problem but we can’t solve it by just not sending kids with supplies. It’s very thoughtful and generous of you

My husband is a teacher and I thank you so much for buying these supplies. We end up spending hundreds or more a year on school supplies and food for the kids. He works at an inner city high school and a lot of time the only time kids are eating is at school. He set up a station with ready made soups and granola bars kids can take. The world needs more people who give back like you, Mary. 🌸

I love love love when you do these things like donating to the schools, buying presents for children during the holidays, etc. You have such a kind heart Mary and that’s why people love you. It’s definitely inspiring me to do the same, especially if I have the means for it, since a lot of people don’t. Lastly, I LOVE soft spoken videos so this was such a treat. Thank you Mary for everything that you do!!

I worked in our local school system for 30 years. What youre doing here is a true blessing, Mary. I know it would break my heart for a child who had near to nothing to start school. I dont shop for the supply cabinet anymore, but I do add money to their lunch açcounts when I can. I've seen a child's lunch taken from them if their account was short. God bless you, Mary.

I love how you contribute to schools every year. My aunt is a teacher and she tells me every year how much she has to pay out of pocket to buy school supplies so just in case you don’t know how important your contribution is, I’m here to tell you, it’s appreciated.

    Mary you are so generous!
I would have never thought some of these items would be needed in schools, but it makes total sense. I am also thinking about my 34 year old husband who still talks about the day he had an accident in preschool and had to wear Batman undies from the lost-and-found all day.
    Lots of love xo

Mary you always impress me but knowing that it takes 362 licks to get to the center of a tootsie pop just took the cake for me lol. I grew up in SW VA so its always so awesome to hear you mention towns I grew up around.

Good candy choices- 100% nut free. As someone with a nut allergy I can't even keep track of the amount of times I'd have to hand a piece of candy right back to the teacher bc even if it wasnt made with nuts it would have some 'may contain' bs on the ingredients label. Glad that whichever teachers get those bags will be able to avoid that.
