there was a lot of hype around Departure, but I always loved the 12 Days of Christmas series that she did too. plus she was the first person to do the 360 degrees ASMR too, as far as I know. her content was legitimately groundbreaking, when you think about it.

I completely agree with ALB in Whisperland. No one needs an explaination although thank you for sharing. :) When times get tough and you need to take time away to put other priorities and responsibilities first then thats okay. Your fellow viewers appreciate who you are and what you do regardless of the period of time it takes to go away and return. Be safe and take care of yourself but most of all be Happy.
You weren’t just “part of the community” Ally. You helped BUILD the ASMR community to be what it is today, and we thought about you a lot while you were gone. You, Heather Feather, and Gentle Whispering ASMR were the first channels I watched wayyyy back when I first discovered ASMR in 2012 or 13. I was struggling with severe anxiety and subsequent insomnia at the time, and this new thing I happened to find on UA-cam was more soothing and calming than anything I had tried previously. I really missed you (and I miss Heather) and am so happy to see you! I liked the effects, but i think the first video of yours I watched was a cranial nerve exam, and honestly those (more low-key, for lack of better description) are my favorite. It’s a personal preference of course, but the less my brain has to focus on, the easier it is to relax. 😊 Either way, I’m happy to see you and happy to see that you’re well and thriving. (Also, how did I age but you did not since 2013? 😭😂)
Man, the good old days of 2012/13 when people used to call ASMR cringe 😬, look at it now. Her and Maria were the first for me and will always be the best.

Departure was never the thing for me. Thrifty Tingles and Time Travel Tuesdays are the videos I always came back to. More of those, which require little editing, is all I want and need! So glad to see you back!
Absolutely! The video I return to the most is the first tooth fairy video! Departure is great but x10 I’ve rewatched that video more than both departure vids combined

Ally, Maria, Heather, Gemma, Matt, Dmitri and the rift guy (I don't remember) made ASMR something special and I'm so happy I was along for the ride back then. Asmr now does nothing for me. It's so clinical and forced. There's no feeling of passion, no comforting buzz from bad recording equipment, no human pauses/mistakes! Call me a hipster but when asmr went mainstream it lost its soul

Yep! Everyone is into 'rapid' asmr lately, but I still come back here to Ally and enjoy the old gentle rps. No mouth sounds, no 'everything is wrong', just good steady hands, solid sounds and well constructed characters.
I remember 9 year old me trying to find a video to fall asleep to on UA-cam. Whispering was the only key word I could think of because I had no idea the feeling I got was asmr. I’m 17 now and still come back to you because you give me comforting nostalgia. My first Asmrtist, thank you for helping little and big me, I love you so much💖
No way that I’m leaving because of no Departure updates or for the special effects you think we’ll miss, you are the special effect! As i said a little while back, just so glad to see that you’re okay first and foremost and that you’re back. You were the first ever ASMR creator I found and from then on I was hooked. A life and years later for me as well I’m still frequently looking your content up as well as a bunch of others and still very thankful for it.

The nostalgia in this thread is real. Around eight years ago, when none of my family or friends knew ASMR existed, you were a bigger deal to me than any Hollywood celebrity. I would watch your videos religiously, and repeatedly to fall asleep. I may even have had a little crush. I appreciate the transparency and I'm so happy you are happy
My favorite was Thrifty Thursdays, you don't need any special effects. Your voice is the best and any tingles I got was just your nails tapping on anything, or your brushes. I love that you are back. ❤️

I found you almost a decade ago. You were one of the first ever asmr people I ever watched. Back then I was suffering with depression after going through cancer treatment at a young age. Asmr helped me relax and sleep at night. Your thrifty tingle videos I absolutely loved so much. I also loved when you did special topic ones like friends etc. I still rewatch your bed time story book video to this day. Thank you for making videos and I really hope you start doing them again. One of my favorite videos of your was the one in the herb shop. You didn’t need special effects for that. What gave me the tingles was you! Your voice, your calm, your mannerisms… I can’t tell you how many times that video put me to sleep. I think enough people have said in the comments that while "Departure" was a lot of fun, it was YOU that kept us coming back. They were fun and awesome, but at the end of the day, it was the quality of ASMR that you provided that made your channel so worth following. It was your honesty and your kindness that made us want to stick around. Seeing you coming back, in whatever capacity makes the most sense for your life and well being, is the best gift any of us could receive. And frankly, the landscape of the ASMR community has changed so much since last you were around. It's the simple, straightforward videos that seem to resound with viewers the most; those are the ones we come back to the most.

I find video to be almost impossible to do by myself. I am confident that you can find a creative, talented collaborator because you are so incredibly talented. You are in the rare position of doing well by doing good. You offer so much value to people. I thought your “Departure” stuff was so over-the-top good but you have done a lot of low tech stuff that has been amazing. You are a true pioneer and in the ASMR Hall of Fame.

I subscribed to you when I was 14 years old. I’m now 23 and have been serving in the army the last few years. Ally, truly you haven’t aged a day since I found you and your incredible channel a decade ago, and yet I’ve gone from a child to an adult with his own home, a partner and perhaps soon, children and I feel so proud to have grown up watching your videos. Having suffered from tinnitus and ADHD since birth I don’t think you’ll ever understand the extent that your wonderful videos has done for me. I still know literally all the words to your Departure video, and have watched all the others several times over. I’m so glad you’re back, you have been so dearly missed. Departure has been assumed to be “cancelled” or put on hold for ages. Those of us still here aren’t here just for that. In case you didn’t know, it actually spawned a spin-off by another asmrtist who was also super inspired and loved the series. It was pretty cool to see his take. I had a very traumatic upbringing and suffered very serious sleep issues and you helped me through that for years. While it makes me sad that departure is over i would never click off or not support you. Been along time since I’ve been by the channel but I’m so glad to stop in. Hope your doing well. Hope you find your way back to making content you enjoy making but just know how big of a impact you made on a lot of our lives.

there was a lot of hype around Departure, but I always loved the 12 Days of Christmas series that she did too. plus she was the first person to do the 360 degrees ASMR too, as far as I know.

You, Heather Feather, and Gentle Whispering ASMR were the first channels I watched wayyyy back when I first discovered ASMR in 2012 or 13. I was struggling with severe anxiety and subsequent insomnia at the time, and this new thing I happened to find on UA-cam was more soothing and calming than anything I had tried previously. I really missed you (and I miss Heather) and am so happy to see you! I liked the effects, but i think the first video of yours I watched was a cranial nerve exam, and honestly those (more low-key, for lack of better description) are my favorite. It’s a personal preference of course, but the less my brain has to focus on, the easier it is to relax. 😊 Either way, I’m happy to see you and happy to see that you’re well and thriving. (Also, how did I age but you did not since 2013? 😭😂)

Departure was never the thing for me. Thrifty Tingles and Time Travel Tuesdays are the videos I always came back to. More of those, which require little editing, is all I want and need!

Asmr now does nothing for me. It's so clinical and forced. There's no feeling of passion, no comforting buzz from bad recording equipment, no human pauses/mistakes!

I found you almost a decade ago. You were one of the first ever asmr people I ever watched. Back then I was suffering with depression after going through cancer treatment at a young age. Asmr helped me relax and sleep at night. Your thrifty tingle videos I absolutely loved so much. I also loved when you did special topic ones like friends etc. I still rewatch your bed time story book video to this day. Thank you for making videos and I really hope you start doing them again. One of my favorite videos of your was the one in the herb shop. You didn’t need special effects for that. What gave me the tingles was you! Your voice, your calm, your mannerisms… I can’t tell you how many times that video put me to sleep. You were the first ASMR channel i ever watched and subscribed to. I was only in middle school and now i’m a highschool graduate. This is an exciting chapter for you and all of us from ASMRrequests. I think enough people have said in the comments that while "Departure" was a lot of fun, it was YOU that kept us coming back. They were fun and awesome, but at the end of the day, it was the quality of ASMR that you provided that made your channel so worth following. It was your honesty and your kindness that made us want to stick around. Seeing you coming back, in whatever capacity makes the most sense for your life and well being, is the best gift any of us could receive.
And frankly, the landscape of the ASMR community has changed so much since last you were around. It's the simple, straightforward videos that seem to resound with viewers the most; those are the ones we come back to the most.

I find video to be almost impossible to do by myself. I am confident that you can find a creative, talented collaborator because you are so incredibly talented. You are in the rare position of doing well by doing good. You offer so much value to people. I thought your “Departure” stuff was so over-the-top good but you have done a lot of low tech stuff that has been amazing. You are a true pioneer and in the ASMR Hall of Fame.

Ally, truly you haven’t aged a day since I found you and your incredible channel a decade ago, and yet I’ve gone from a child to an adult with his own home, a partner and perhaps soon, children and I feel so proud to have grown up watching your videos. Having suffered from tinnitus and ADHD since birth I don’t think you’ll ever understand the extent that your wonderful videos has done for me.
I still know literally all the words to your Departure video, and have watched all the others several times over. I’m so glad you’re back, you have been so dearly missed. You’re a diamond among rocks, you truly are. We are always going to be here, take your time and continue being yourself.

The roleplays where you played multiple characters were great and I still think you should go into acting lol. P.S as much as I was a fan of departure I was an even bigger fan of timetravel tingles....just you tapping on something while telling us facts was better than any editing or effects magic in the world
It's so great to see you again Ally. And I agree with everyone else here - we watch for YOU, not for special effects. In fact as cool as the effects are, strip them away and the videos are more personal and intimate which is what ASMR is all about anyway.

Dude. I am so stoked you’re back. You used to put me to sleep eight years ago when I started grad school with immense anxiety.
Departure has been assumed to be “cancelled” or put on hold for ages. Those of us still here aren’t here just for that. I’d love to see more of the story and such if you ever find a way or reason to bring it back. Just glad this channel isn’t getting taken down cause I rewatch the old ones all the time. In case you didn’t know, it actually spawned a spin-off by another asmrtist who was also super inspired and loved the series. It was pretty cool to see his take. Regardless, glad to see you back and doing well. You were the first asmrtist I followed so I’m grateful to you for being my gateway to this community that has been a massive part of my life for years now. Thank you. See ya soon.

I had a very traumatic upbringing and suffered very serious sleep issues and you helped me through that for years. While it makes me sad that departure is over i would never click off or not support you. Been along time since I’ve been by the channel but I’m so glad to stop in. Hope your doing well. Hope you find your way back to making content you enjoy making but just know how big of a impact you made on a lot of our lives.

I love it! I was rewatching a video from 8 years ago. The 12 days of roleplays. Those were amongst the first ASMR videos I discovered.
Special effects are nice, but ultimately it's YOUR talent and skill as an asmrtist that keeps me coming back to your content. I think some of the best videos you've made were also some of the simplest. Whether you're making elaborate scifi roleplays or just reading children's bedtime stories to us, I'll be there watching.
