Hi is there an easy to use Android or Windows app to create/DAW full songs with Electribe 2? Do I have to export into Ableton but then what? Once exported to Ableton it's then just a bunch of audio files and I can't tweak the sounds on Electribe 2 anymore?
Did they ever fix the pattern Chain gap - the original EMX1 seamlessly blended the patterns but I’ve heard that everything truncates when the patterns switch (an annoying problem with the clipchain on the mc707). Like the whole point of chaining is to seam to together patterns. Makes you kinda go hmm...
Hi looop, thank you for this detailed instruction on Electribe. I'm thinking about buying a used E2s to be the brain of my dawless hardware setup, but also a little concerned given the product is 5 years old. Do you think it still capable and playable in 2021? and, if there's a better alternative for this product, at the same price range? Your opinion on this is much appreciated :)
@@loopop Thank you for reply on this. it seems that the sounds and workflow of E2 are pretty controversial, I’ll dig a bit more on this. Forgot to mention that i’ve owned an OPZ and i like the workflow which is intuitive but the synth engine is emmm, that bad :(
Could u come up with a app to edit samples and add samples also Idk if this makes sense but is there anyway to get a sample to like sound like it's chopped like if I press the pad that the samples assigned to and press it again the first time I pressed it is still playing when I press it the second time so they overlap and I want to be able to press it and press it again and it just restart the sample without hearing the initial first pressed sample???
Christian Kenne not sure how I can explain it better in text - maybe check out my tips video for the E2s - there are quite a few ideas that might be useful for you
Hey - this video was made a long time ago as a fun hack, before there were other choices on the market for people who want 8 bars per pattern. I don't offer any support or help with getting it up and running, sorry!
I still can't believe my Electribe 2 Sampler isn't able to play 8 bar patterns by itself. I just tried using two linked patterns, but it's crazy. The ES always forgets note/efx changes while flipping to the other pattern, and I have to apply any sound change twice. Nearly no way to do this while jamming around.
Frank Sossna this app is designed to solve that problem, but it is a bit cumbersome I admit. Two other solutions that might help: 1. slow down the tempo (yes, I know you lose "resolution" but you can compensate somewhat with effects), and 2. An idea I'm working on is using an external sequencer for certain tracks, and going higher than 4 bars that way. Not perfect either for sure... but it works
You're right - linking patterns just isn't the same as having 8 bars in the first place - effects are lost in transition at the 4 and 4 bar breakpoint. Sigh... yet when I return to my old emx and esx, then there's no polyphony grrrr. Can't win! Korg please give us the best of all worlds in your next electribe, thank you!
No hate but external midi sequencer + midi cable = unlimited sequence length. Yamaha rs 7000 With electribe as a sound module ,But for portable battery setup this is awesome is all this info saved in the app to recall per song for live performance
+Mikepepp2 none taken ;) part of the attraction for me is not just sequencing but also motion sequencing, and that's kind of hard to do with external gear without messing with CC's - never used the RS7000 but you have me curious...
Droppin Science Agine / stay on the grind we ( es2 heads ) need more professors / got em both ( es2 and a circuit - much luv to the circuit folks - but the only edge they got is their pattern mode )
All the early E2 hater almost got me / what won me over was it ( The ES2 ) reminded me of my mpd 225 and a simplified , more immediate abelton / love my Circuit but love my ES2 a little bit more / I was tryin to use my I pad for something real - this could put me and apple back on speaking - terms
Thanks! I haven't tried it but I've heard from other users regarding past apps that they worked well. If you do try it out please add a comment either way. Thanks!
It's ridiculous that electribe users need to come up with these crazy workarounds to get the functionality that Korg should have just included in the first place.
the electribe2 is very limited to keep things simple. in fact, it's easier to use any other groovemachine to get those extra measures and forget about using gear just to increase the range of the sequencer.
Hey - sorry - apparently Sellfy took down my store because they don't want people to offer "pay what you wish" products anymore without a subscription (which didn't make financial sense for me). I updated the description to link to my Patreon where you can find this app. You can always leave before the end of the month and pay nothing, so it's still pay what you wish. Regarding Lemur - yep, it's expensive and it has a crappy interface, but it's the only platform I could find that would let me write scripts like this. My app is every experimental and was written just for fun, so I can't guarantee your 22 pounds on Lemur will be well spent, I sure wouldn't say my app is worth that much...
fair play to you creating your app ..however thats a whole lot of fuss...a lot simpler to chain two together...or Korg could just add 8 bar in an update.... good work though
If I remember correctly when you chain patterns any changes you make while they’re playing are gone upon pattern swap. Of course it would be best if korg added it...
@@loopop so I now see what you said... Once the pattern runs into next in chain, everything stays how was when last hit the write so would mean dialing in and recording any changes and automation on each pattern in the chain separately and saving before changing pattern banks..... Which is a bit of a stop to any flow you have over any said sequence of patterns.... I think I'd like a digitakt... Just can't afford to just buy one without selling a few pieces off...... Love the vids....explained with clear detail in all that's reviewed and demonstrated. Great work, keep at it, it's most appreciated.
@@jkbz23 when you switch into record mode all pattern chaining is suspended so you are repeating the current pattern until you switch off record mode or until full 4/4 elapsed since you've started adjusting parameters (i.e record button started blinking)
Shame on you Korg ... from the fact that is possible to turn e2 into e2s we know that this isn't instrument in technical terms but specialised computer that run a specific program, so I don't understand why Korg don't do something like this in system updates.
Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Korg can stop ignoring our requests for a firmware update and add 8 bar sequencing. :)
This is brilliant! Such a simple idea, but adds a lot.
Thanks!
Brilliant! I love the hacks you come up with.
+Brian Holliday Thanks & you're welcome!

Would it be possible to hack this app to make a master tune adjustment of 432hz for master tuning ?
Your doing god's work, thank you :')
Hi, thanks for sharing this trick!
I am curious what the white USB cord you are using is?
You're welcome! It's a standard Apple Camera Connection kit, connected to a USB Micro cable (no brand from China)

Christian Kenne you can trim and slice on the E2S. For the choking - Tru using parts 13 and 14 or 15 and 16 with the same sample
loopop what do you mean may you please explain I really suck at it and need help with that like a break down on how to and them I'll be able to do it

Thank you for always putting out such great content! Could you connect a USB midi keyboard in the same manner as the iPad?
Thanks and no unfortunately. You need a USB MIDI host
wow amazing thank you!
I have an electribe 2 too, can I do the same? If yes, could you help me...
Thanks in advance :)

Any chance of an Android version?...there are more of us than Apple users
It’s not really up to me - it’s up to the company that makes the scripting environment
