I seriously watched this video for ten minutes just to find out how to get to the global settings and they literally take the camera off of the screen only for the part while he opens it.
I like how as he's giving directions, the camera moves away from his hands and the Electribe to pointlessly show him talking so that we can no longer see which knobs and buttons he's referring to.
6:40 every recorded sample could automatically be +12db because i have to do it manually to every single sample. It would be easier to set -12db for the 1 out of a thousand samples.
Can you please a do a tutorial on how sample an entire loop beat. I have the Electribe Sampler black and I can't figure how to sample a beat for nothing
+Ave Mcree Definitely. I seriously underestimated the op1 when it released but it would have been a great investment. Right now, I'm waiting to see how a couple of boxes hold up. For example, the MPC Live looks seriously legit. The Synthstrom Audible Deluge is appealing but there hasn't been a whole lot of info on it since it was announced for pre-order and it's supposedly out now. It's definitely time to change though.
The sounds you create are actually fun, but you could work on your presentation. I still have no idea on how to work with the product, except it seems to me that's going to be really tough...
Yes to each of these. You can edit sample beginning and end using sample edit mode. With the pitch/glide knob you are essentially time stretching a sample. Some people take long samples, shrink them down using a program like Audacity, then re inflate them with the pitch/glide knob. This helps save sample time. Effects manipulation can be sequence recorded. If you twist a knob while recording, that knob change becomes part of the "motion sequence".
chaosdreamer13 - I assume you could sample normally, resample at a higher pitch and then pitch the new (smaller) sample back down and delete the original? Just to avoid using a computer!
@@leftmono1016 sorry for missing your response. I just saw this. I process all my samples with a computer so I'm not the best to answer about resampling
the new korg is noisey ! if your korg has a high pitch distant noise to it. switch off the audio in. only switch audio in on when you want to sample or manipulate audio with the esx effects). if you leave audio in on even with the audio in volume knob down, it will still have the noise
I dont know why we are sampling the volca kick when there are plenty of good kick samples already in the electribe sampler that can be tweaked in a fraction of the time to sound better than the volca kick sample he took half the video to create. Why make things more difficult? Korg tutorials suck. I kinda like my electribe sampler but the menu diving is horrific. To sample in the Electribe sampler is like counting grains of sand. It can all be done so much faster just using ableton and a wav file. The menu diving on this device is thick that it makes the simplest of tasks over complicated. It's a fun groove box, but forget the obnoxious sampling procedure.
I'm seriously considering buying a Red electribe Sampler2. I've got a few questions. Q1: Is the timeslicing always done according to time/beat or can you customise the slicing according to event? Q2: What is the file format of the timeslice file? (i.e. In what PC program can I open a wav and add slicepoints that will be recognised by the KES2?). 3: Before I do buy a KES2, I'm wanting to try one out in a local store. Is there a way I can format an SD Micro card on my PC, fill it with loops and then take it to the store to load/slice up on their electribe? Thanks.
great tutorial. i have a question. Can you hook the korg Electric sampler to a Pioneer dj set directly without a laptop and use these sound in a mix with other tracks? I would like to make basslines live on the spot at my dj gigs. Thankssss
are you KORG Kraft Music promoting to buy these two products ???? or what I want to know how to use and create samples on this electribe sampler without the volca kick thank you
some one knows if you can set cut groups in trigger mode?, for example, you want to play 3 samples that cut into each other (sound only one at the time), and at the same time drums that are not cut by the other sounds
Fauvier I’m trying to figure that out too. I saw it claims to be able to record and play samples up to 280 seconds (if memory serves), and that was the selling point. Now I’m not so sure. Let me know if you find answers.
@@mendedarrows9394 no, it has 280 seconds sample memory TOTAL. To fill this with your own sample(s) you would need to delete the existing onboard samples.
Is it possible to modulate the start point of a sampler with a random LFO for example ? And can you place multiple kind of samples (one shots or chormatic samples on several notes) on midi notes (keymap ...) on the same midi channel , like a multisample or a preset on an AKAI or EMU sampler
Hi, I am a guitar player wanting a device that basically functions like a drum machine but one which I can use my own samples and trigger the patters I make live from a MIDI pedalboard. I don’t want to use a DAW on a computer. I’ve done fair bit of research and a Roland SP-404SX or this looks like it will be the best thing for that purpose at the lowest price point. I’m just not sure about changeable time signatures. I would appreciate your suggestion if you have any.
can you sample sounds from different keyboards to the Korg - Electribe 2 and than attach a midi keyboard to it and play these sounds in the spectrum of the midi keyboard?
Wow, that sample does not sound good...not at all like the original tone of the sampled kick. Also, he says he is adjusting the low volume of the sample to +12db at 6:30, but that setting was already at +12db and the sample still had too low volume.
It's because of a couple of different things. The original sound was pretty big and you'll notice that the INPUT volume knob on the ES2 is turned down to around 50-60% The result is the sound he recorded. Also, the ES2 automatically changes the sample to the "Normal" lower level output. The sample *has* to be set to +12db which is the volume the sample is recorded at. Which is accurate. He recorded a huge sound to a smaller level. It could have been more accurate if he adjusted the levels better. Additionally, the ES2 filter and Amp are now being applied to the sample and that can sometimes make a teeny tiny difference. And they obviously cut the part out when he first changed it to +12 db I've sampled some beefy analog synth kicks with the ES2 and it sounded exactly as intended because I adjusted the input and source volume accordingly. Feel free to check out my video "Pittsburgh Modular SV-1 Blackbox week #1" for how it's done properly.
REV. STANLEY THOMAS seriously? even with a pre amp which u shouldn't need .... I was hoping to cut vocal samples or beats up on this thing but now I'm not so sure

Besser wäre "audio thru off"+"audio in" beim Sampling gewesen.

You have to turn scale mode on when recording a sequence, then it will respond to scale changes.
