Day 4 and I’m convinced this Judge is the most cordial & respectful judge I’ve ever witnessed on the stand. He is genuinely concerned for everyone’s well being & is very polite. Nothing like other Wisconsin judges...he’s definitely a rarity.
I fully agree with you, I like the way he presides over the court, and the respect with which he handles himself when interacting with lawyers, jurors and witnesses.
YES, THE JUDGE IS VERY POLITE TO EVERYONE...HE NEVER TALKS LIKE OTHER JUDGES WHO HAVE NO RESPECT FOR ANYBODY...like the judge where that kid killed 3 persons and i think he was on the kid's side...he should have acted neutral and friendly but he was not......THIS JUDGE ONTHIS TRIAL IS EXTRA NICE!
You mean not like judge Schroeder on Rittenhouse trial. Judge T. Walmsley on Ahmaud Arbery trial is also like this judge. I wish one of these two judges were presiding the Rittenhouse trial, they are real judges, not clowns.
@@peaceandlove7824 Let me tell you that Judge T. Walmsley really moved me with his words before reading the sentence, I think many of us were impacted by his humanity and respect for the victim.
I know this has been said many times, and will continue to be, but the Judge is the epitome of professional, respectful, and kind. His demeanor is exceptional, and genuine. He deserves recognition, not just from UA-cam comments (which I do hope he sees!) but also by colleagues, WI Attorney General, and others around him. It’s refreshing to know people such as him hold these incredibly important positions and roles. God Bless Him!
He didn’t even try to act upset or surprised when they said “your parents are no longer with us”. That was as good as a confession right there…not legally, but just speaking as a normal human with common sense.
@@AirQuotes848 That's exactly what this whole thing has been like with this guy and honestly, the whole situation. It is terrible to say, but this entire case is like a terrible movie. A crazy guy with no emotion making up an entire fake life, ridiculous neck brace and all, killing his own parents in a horrific manner, visiting random people and then having the weirdest trial I have ever seen with some of the oddest witnesses and defense attorneys. It's so sad, but also surreal.
People whose entire life is a lie can be extremely dangerous when backed in a corner or on the verge of being exposed. As traumatic this is for the girlfriend, she is lucky he was caught because she could have been Chaz's next victim.
You're absolutely right about that. When the life that's been constructed with the lies and finally put in a corner with it. And quite a few young guys, for example, when it comes to college graduation day, kill the parents, rather than face music and shock of the parents when they learn that their boy's not attended college for years.
If there was going to be a next victim, it's probably the brother. Chandler needs that insurance money, after all. Otherwise he might have to get a job.
Exactly. He even gave the brother that bullet that said “get well soon” or whatever. 😬 that girlfriend and her family must feel like they have been blessed by an angel to get away from him. Mentally screwed up forever but not dead!
I think she knew what he did and that her life was in danger so she helped with cleanup (fact is she bought supplies, possibly more) and/or turned a blind eye till she could sort out situation. That's why she was clearly withholding info on stand, yet took screenshots of his location for police. She doesn't benefit from deaths & has no motive, don't think she had anything to do with the actual murders. They were in constant contact, no way she didn't know something was off (he is CLEARLY not that into doing "chores", esp considering neighbor said lawn wasn't even mowed & it's ALWAYS kept up.)
He is so hyper focused on accounting for his own actions and whereabouts that he’s forgotten this is supposed to be about his missing parents and completely left out his mums co-worker coming looking for her on Friday after not showing up at work, hasn’t mentioned feeling any concern at all over the fact he hadn’t heard from them in days when his mum would usually be in constant contact, especially considering his being “injured”, nor the fake text he sent himself from his mums phone on the Sunday in order to buy himself some more time to cover up his crime before having to finally report them missing.
He's talking about having a mess of blood and there being big "globs" that cleaner only made worse. For a little poke on his toe. "Bloody rag after bloody rag" 😂 Not exactly the quality liar he's been made out to be. Kinda like the whole college/insurance/spacex stories that stretched over a year with zero results.
This station is doing a noteworthy job, IMO, keeping all of us thoroughly and swiftly informed (especially including this UA-cam channel) by reporting (and uploading) trial proceedings immediately/live , but this network is doing “the news” , researching + reporting respectfully. It’s difficult balancing accurate facts/particulars and specifics with class, discretion, and sensitivity, so this narrator + content is greatly appreciated…Thank you
I shouldn’t laugh but the part when the detective says how is your day and chandler says not good and the detective says good good lol that cracked me up
My ma has gushing nose bleeds and she doesn’t notice when blood is gushing down her face, my dads leg gushes blood all the time, my toe was gushing blood all day. What a moron.
Of course not. His whole life is a lie, especially that fall. He needed an injury, so he made one up. He's creepy and insane (altho probably not legally).
Agree. The brother was getting the attention with the diagnosis of diabetes. The same week, Chandler claimed the fall, and it progressed into worse lies that kept him from leaving the family home, getting a job, and an excuse for his graduation that wasnt going to happen. The father checked it all out though, and that did it for the lier. They had to go.
Clearly he couldn’t stand his brother and the fact that his brother got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes ( not something he created by eating poorly and other reasons like type 2 ) and was receiving all mom’s attention caused him to seek out attention by making up a head injury from a fall down the stairs. I’ve had two very serious head injuries in my youth and I was hospitalized for just under a week in the first one and nearly two weeks in the second. Although I was unconscious for days on the second injury and my parents were cautioned that I could have lost my sight, never once were they told I may need a colostomy bag one day or that I could become paralyzed. I can’t imagine that after being released from the ER and not hospitalized that anyone would “fall” for his report of all his devastating consequences from his fall.
Referring to his mother as "ma" seems so quaint and sweet and personal...yet he killed her, dismembered her body, tried to incinerate her remains and ultimately dispersed of most of her remains.
😂😄😁🤣😅 What the defense can do? I think they know he has already convicted himself with all his lies and stupidity. He should have never talked to the police without an attorney. He trips over his own lies and he doesn’t get it!
Am sure the defense had a talk with him about this that he should have never talk to a police. Given the fact that he spoke all of these lies and his behavior sending s big alarm
1:58 we get started 3:30 Detective Liz Allen 11:55 Richard Bennet 16:08 Brian Shunk again 34:45 interrogation video 2:26:35 the interview takes A Big Turn. The detective says "We know your parents are no longer with us" and Chandler barely reacts to that. An innocent guy wouldn't do that. He'd say "omg, what? what do you mean? are they DEAD? What are you talking about????" This is one of the most guilty guys ever. I guess that guy who killed Sammi Johnstone, who had his DNA under her fingernails, yeah he was even more obviously guilty but this guy is ruuuul guilty 3:57:00 back from break, Jill Destefano comes to the stand. she may or may not have seen Chandler at some point. 4:03:20 back to Detective Shunk 4:09:00 Warden Ryan Caputo, who found a leg :( 4:20:10 "I didn't stick around to find out." "Why not?" "Because that's gross." "Fair enough."
Watch Joel guy jr and grant Amato interrogations/trials. There are like more than a handful that come to mind as similar and similarly awful, but those are the most recent that stick out. Just absurd that even if they’re that evil- that they’re also that stupid!!
“The interview takes a BIG turn” proof positive I could NEVER be a detective/deputy and have some guilty suspect string me along when I know the entire time he is guilty AF. I wouldn’t have the patience to let him go on for a couple of hours BSing and lying to me.
I haven't been this invested into a trial since Jodi or Casey, whichever was most recent. I gotta say, this is much better coverage than HLN was during the other 2. Less Hollywood and straight to the point. I just heard about this case like 4 days ago and have been watching since. Great Job on the coverage without the gruesomeness.
After watching Jodi's, this court feel to have an overall positive vibe. The counsel is so calm and respectful towards eachother as opposed in Jodi's case which kinda made sense coz that was a capital case. But for me, this one feels kinda nice after watching re-watching Jodi's trials multiple times
Seriously would it have been so hard to go to his parents and say "I'm really sorry! I've been lying, I don't know what I'm doing at all and I need help."? Such an unnecessary tragedy.
Lies built upon lies man. I'll never understand how it gets to this point, but it seems to be a downward spiral that some people cannot seem to get out of...or want to get out of!
I think definitely disappointing his dad was the one thing he couldn't face. I think he killed him before dad could confront him, so in his head that ultimate disappointment has never occurred. Such a baby.
@@bumblebaa2327 i bet the dad had a sawzall in that house and chandler prob. to stupid to use it. i mean that is ALOT of work cutting through bones with a little hand saw. and to stomach all that blood and gore. i cant even cut the head off a fish
He’s one of those people who clearly thinks he’s smarter than anyone else he’s ever met. Dunning-Kruger effect, I suppose, idk, the entire attempt was just… absolutely mind-bogglingly incompetent. Like I still can’t believe what a complete and utter moron he is and I’ve spent 90% of my waking hours for the last month thinking about this case. Like I’m pretty sure almost anyone watching this trial could do a better job, had they been magically thrown into this situation just after the murders occurred. Literally anyone who has ever watched a single episode of a true crime show.
@@kailoveskitties if i was thrown into the situation i would just try to leave the country and not even touch the bodies. i like how he threw the bloody rags in a bag with a barcode on it and didnt even throw that in the trash can.
@@kailoveskitties I couldn't agree more the way he tried to cover his tracks was less than impressive for someone who is trying to claim innocence in this whole crime he was messy and gave himself away before he was even notified his parents were dead which he already knew because he did it. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know this guy's story is sloppy to say the least.
It had to be horrible for Mitchell to hear the gruesome details of what happened to his parents and to add to his horror, it was his BROTHER who did it. I can't even imagine. He lost his entire immediate family at one time.
There's so many people in this trial that I find so compelling. William Brown is a fantastic prosecutor, comes across as extremely likeable, and the judge as well. Dulce, Cat's mother, seems like the sweetest woman I could ever hope to meet. All of Krista's friends are just a bunch of sweethearts. There's no dark underbelly to any of these people except Chandler, which makes it all the more horrifying.
@@TheNoonish I agree, but I find Dulce to be extremely strange. How is she and her daughter more distraught than the parents friends and family?! It's so weird to me. Not to mention the defense team. That was one weird opening statement coming from that lady. Bunch of gibberish about nothing. Pretentious and empty.
@@themetamorphosisofgipsy It's not that weird to me. Dulce and Kat feel guilty because they bought into all of Chandler's lies. Krista's friends almost never spent time around him so they weren't exposed to it, and weren't emotionally invested in him, but Kat and her mom were. Moreover, Dulce missed him disposing of the body, which he'd been doing just minutes before hopping into the pool with her and her topless girlfriend. That's disturbing to be that close to something utterly insane. Similar for Kat-she slept in the Halderson's house three different times after they'd been murdered in the house and while their bodies were shoved into freezers in the basement. Those sorts of things aren't just tragic, they're traumatic, so when they're talking about this, it's still pretty fresh to them six months later. It's easier for the neighbors to grieve and cope. The only person who was oddly composed on the stand was Mitchell, IMO. But he also didn't have to face questions that were too sensitive because he wasn't actually a witness for anything significant. People who think Cat has some guilt in this feel like they haven't followed the narrative. She was completely deceived, she believed Chazz was injured which is part of why she was keeping such close tabs on him. I do find some things odd, but nothing is unbelievable.
Me too. Also just having been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes...thats such a huge life change...tests all day, shots for every meal and long term twice daily...etc along with all the complications from it. Stress makes it worse too. My son has it. Was diagnosed rt after his 3rd birthday, so I felt for him. So sad he lost his parents!
So sad. He lost his entire family. Two from a violent murder and one from alienating himself as a despicable murderer. I hope that he will survive emotionally.
I feel even worse for Cat since he almost dragged her down (whether it's intentional or not) with so many things including the Target bag with her name on it with bloody rags in them for instance. You can tell she was really emotional or/and freaking out during her court testimony
It’s wild how needy this kid sounds for a 23 year old. “Can’t drive long distances”, “can’t see we’ll in the dark”. Life only gets more painful as we age brother.
@@louisekelly10 I know but it’s pretty easy to get the sense that this kid is entitled. He’s going get a reality check very quickly from the Wisco. State Penn.
The dude even mentions a “colostomy bag down the road” for his fake injury. It’s funny how he completely forgets to keep the lie about his neck hurting while concentrating on all of the other lies he was telling. His lack of anxiety is sociopathic.
I had an old childhood friend that ended up similar to this kid. He lived at home until he was in his late 20s, helicopter mom, detached father, would lie to them consistently like it was nothing and he got very good at it. He would also sometimes steal cash from them. He reminds me of this guy a lot, minus the murderous sociopath component..
I just commented something similar above before seeing this. My ex partner reminds of chandler in the most terrifying way. My ex has narcissistic personality disorder. This mother was similar to chandlers. Even in his twenties she’s so overbearing! And his father was detached yes.
Almost two hours & not once does he ever ask about his parents or what steps are being taken to locate them. Instead we get the incoherent ramblings of a true psychopath.
For someone who lied and claimed he had a “solar (technology)” certificate, calling Cress’s solar pool warmer “something fancy to warm the pool from the sun” just doesn’t cut it,lol!
@@stepheneurosailor1623 I think if I had been in Cat's shoes and had learned that the man I loved and that I hoped to marry was a MONSTER who had murdered and dismembered his parents and then remembered that I had even been in the house with him while the bodies of his parents were under the same roof, I would be vomiting also. No guilt necessary.
@@stepheneurosailor1623 she knew, but she has no motive. Remember she was going to speak to his parents about them grounding Chazzledazzle and that meant no cuddle time for Cat. My question is how did that idiot-Chandler manage to get another girlfriend while with Cat? The other gf Dakota was the one who who gave the Detectives that picture of him hanging from the tree with the machete.
Thank you for the comprehensive and simple to follow coverage. I used to follow this trial on Law & Crime Network's channel but it's so messily posted I can't make heads or tails of it. Also thank you for the commentary, really appreciated.
Same here! I loved that Law & Crime would just post the full live video. It's annoying that they've started cutting videos into pieces, and it's hard to tell in which order to watch the videos.
It's extremely concerning how NATURAL lying is for him. If I didn't already know he's lying, I would believe him. The way he tells these stories, and how he conveys them seems so genuine, and honest. 😳😳😳
It’s so interesting to be able to put all of these puzzle pieces together. So after watching that video of Mitchell’s testimony at the cabin, we NOW know that the reason Dane County officers couldn’t meet him there and were called back is because the torso was discovered. It all makes sense now.
Channel 3000 thanks for being the channel to broadcast this! I have subscribed as others have been choppy and not in order!!! I will watch for other trials you bring broadcast!!
I feel the interrogation detectives missed a vital question. If his dad was mad because he broke the fireplace glass, they should have asked “why wouldn’t your mother clean it up, or have you clean it up at that time before they left?”. I’m sure he would have said they were just wanting to get to bed so they could get up early, etc., but, it would have been worth seeing him squirm. Also, mom would have been worried the dogs would get in it to cut themselves, etc.. Chandler really is an idiot.
Totally agree...I was really bent by that not making sense. If his parents were alive, not leaving til Friday? So his parents allowed that mess of glass to remain there from Tuesday to Friday with their precious dogs running around? NOT!!!
Also, the fact that he had several long seconds to tell the detectives what kind of ball broke the glass... and he answered that it was a TENNIS ball. Then a dog ball with a squeaker. Basically the 2 kinds of ball that would never break a fireplace’s glass- he could have said baseball or softball.
I believe it was on Wednesday that he claimed the dog ball broke the glass, still I very much doubt Krista would have been happy to leave that glass around from Wednesday to Friday even. Especially considering how protective she was of Chandler due to his “concussion”. Also he did seem to realise his mistake with the type of ball he had described and tried to correct this with his story about the dog hitting the glass with its shoulder when going after the ball, also quite an implausible story. He had a whole week to come up with this story and it’s still pathetic which makes me think he’s not the brightest narcissistic psychopath I’ve ever come across as a true crime fan.
I think Chandler might have been intrigued instead. The days before interrogation, he called the officers multiple times to find out what information the officers had. His curiosity got the better of him.
True. I wish all the trials I watch covered trials in this manner. Another noteworthy observation is the quality of interrogation video & auditory for once
Obviously this whole thing is tragic, but that poor woman sees a man walking was on her first day of visiting Wisconsin and 6 months later she’s a witness in a horrific murder trial. Welcome to the Midwest! 🤦🏻♀️
How in the world did he survive that HORRIFIC toe injury?!I`m afraid he`ll have PTSD for the rest of his life with the flashbacks of that near life-ending toe disaster, waking in cold sweats and screams..........How a movie would NOT be made about this is way beyond me......
😂😂😂 Exactly! He should get some kind of bravery award for not just lying down and letting his injury do him in, he still managed to keep going!! What a hero!!
I hate to laugh but the warden being all oh hell no I didn’t stick around after I found that leg, that’s not my problem anymore..made me giggle. I think we all would do the same. 🤣
I don't know why this sticks out to me but it's incredibly sad to now know that when his brother and his brother's fiancée were heading up to the cabin and got news that the detectives from the town their parents lived in couldn't come up because something came up it was because they found a torso in the same place that Chandler was seen prior.
To everyone asking how Cat wasn't suspicious of her boyfriend for the murder of his parents, I suggest a nice, lengthy break from true crime. Watch a comedy movie, listen to some relaxing music, take a vacation. Talk to people about a topic other than true crime. You'll soon come to realize that most people are not walking around ready to assume their boyfriend/husband/wife/neighbor/teacher is a murderer. You'll soon come to realize that most people don't assume the worst of everyone around them.
Anyone who has ever watched "Evil Lives Here" should know most family members never have a clue that their family member is a murderer. People really should not judge the innocents who are taken in by a family member or friend. Everyone can be "fooled" before they see the actions or evidence for themselves.
Can you imagine sitting there knowing this guy probably is telling a tall tale because you already know they found part of the dad. Crazy. This guy was so worried about keeping his lies he killed his folks over it. Why not just come clean! You have to be a very sick individual to do this to anyone. Hope he rots in jail forever
Oh, I guarantee he is having a terrible time in prison. He's so privileged and sheltered, I bet it's been quite the rude awakening realizing all of the things he took forgranted in his life, all so he wouldn't be found out as a fraud. I wonder if his parents ever saw signs of his psychopathy along the way. What a sick individual.
@@stepheneurosailor1623 dude ur like OCD about cat! i see you keep posting about her being guilty every other day but there is not a shred of evidence pointing to her. all the evidence shows she was not involved at all
I thought about them watching that horrific scene too. Dogs are very perceptive when something is going on. I'm surprised the neighbors didn't hear the dogs
It's so funny to hear about this major foot injury, and then to see the photo of his teensy, tiny toe sore. If anything in this horrible story can be funny. I also love the look of panic on his face when they tell him he's caught.
It was exaggerated to account for blood all over the house, as shown in the interview, he claims to have bled on all floors, not thinking his blood would not match his parents when tested.
Everything is exaggerated with Chaz!!! His whole life he has been exaggerating….most likely he was a young boy when he started exaggerating….probably for attention….I can only imagine all the stories he has concocted!!! It’s pitiful! His whole life has been a lie!
College student who gets "grounded" too. Sorry Chaz, maybe your girlfriend will believe that nonsense but not those of us not blinded by love. Grounded. As if!!
The dad per Chandler seems quite rigid...while the mother seems to be nurturing, similar to Grant Amato's parents...whom he murdered along with his brother.
I really believe people like him are just born wrong. I know some people grow up in terrible environments that can cause them to be like this. But some people really are just born with no ability to feel empathy and cannot ever change. It's really creepy to think about
So people keep saying it’s strange as he’s had no trauma. Trauma in childhood causes conditions like borderline personality disorder, adhd, anxiety, eating disorders. It’s not how narcissists are created
What is wrong with people that go through trials like this and force others to have to observe their horrific crimes when they know darn well they're guilty????
Imagine thinking the detective investigating your 2 missing parents wants to waste his time listening to you complain for 8 minutes about how much a stupid cut on your toe was bothering you 😒
Everyone in the courtroom can see the evidence. “Publishing for the jury” is a term of art that just means that once an exhibit is admitted into evidence it is shown to the jury for its consideration.
I don't think it would have any effect on him since he obviously had the stomach to dismember then distribute the body parts around different counties 🤢😳
I totally understand why that detective handled the calls the way he did. He was so good at not disclosing anything. This man (the detective) has been exceptional at his job so far throughout this trial! Between him the judge and the lawyer (not chandlers lol) they are a brilliant team
I really think Chandler's team did as well as they could given he was so intent on denying everything. Really the only thing they can do at this point is make sure the prosecution don't ask leading questions, rely on hearsay and lay proper foundation for evidence they provide, which they did do. Keep in mind that these aren't super high paid crack team doing everything they can to undermine witnesses by any means necessary. They're overworked state attorneys trying to ensure Chandler gets a fair trial. And this is evident in how both prosecution and judge are very respectful of the defence and the objections they raise.
Right?? Hearing the phone call Burt had with the college official had me so sad-he knew what was starting to happen and had worked so hard to assist his son.
Listening to his voice quake during the phone calls as he's melting with anxiety like a guilty popsicle is so satisfying. Also pressing his ears to the cinderblocks in the interrogation room to see if he can hear anything before making awkward eye contact with the camera lol. I always wondered if he ever realized just how stupid he was in trying to dispose of the evidence. Like, imagine leaving a garbage can with a torso with both victims DNA out at a farm you had a super awkward interaction at. I'm surprised they didn't find that the second he left the farm...
The poor little Butcher just couldn’t get a break. What are the odds of the lady that has never been in that area just happened to previously own a Subaru, so she knew the model? Plus, the detective that knew that area well from Cat’s screenshot, used to patrol it as his beat. Also, I think the lady noticed him more for the fact she wasn’t familiar with the area. Most others, are probably used to people there and don’t even think about looking. The fact that he must have thought people would be just fine with his “missing” parents and case closed, is beyond comprehension.
she probably thought he was a weirdo. didn't want to sound like she was too judgmental but wasn't she there to see her grandchild? she may have been on high alert and didn't know why her weirdo meter was going off when she saw him..
What you just said- at the end- I say that every time!! I can’t freaking believe these soulless ghouls are also all so unbelievably stupid!! Or arrogant! Or self centered - likely all three!
His interview is appalling. All the little details of stuff that don’t matter, he’s really trying to give himself an alibi before he even knows they’re onto him...also how possibly could he think he’d get away with this hiding part of the body at Cat’s moms property?!
I think because up to this point, he'd always gotten away with everything else he'd pulled. His parents, brother, girlfriend, friends - everyone - had to this point in his life accepted his bold lies at face value. His luck had changed, he just didn't accept that reality, yet.
@@HadleyJayne everyone in his immediate circle that is. There's a lot of comments on social media from people in the college community who met him saying that they thought he was a jerk and saw right through him
I LOL’d so many times at the sheer number of optional outs he tried to lay foundation for during that interview. Everything from his parents having an argument about the broken fire place to them watching a movie about a couple that fake their deaths and disappear the night before they “go missing”. My gosh you can tell he is a very practiced liar. I think he was so used to lying to everyone and getting away with it, he probably thought this would be no different.
So hyperfocused whining about a minor glass cut on his toe & this alleged mild concussion which according to him caused severe Neuro damage. Dude, your parents have disappeared! Not even the slightest bit good at lying. How did he convince everyone about all this bogus school/work nonsense
Such a liar, the whole leg and memory loss. What a jerk! Those poor parents. It’s hard to get your head around this. If he was high on drugs………..but just a cold blooded murderer.
I’ve watched most of this trial, all of cat’s interviews all the way through; and what I was wondering last night in bed (yes; this case has gotten into my head) is how we’ll never know how the situation played out after Bart sent that text, “I’m ready whenever you are”. Yes, the evidence shows he was shot in the back and dismembered. But what happened? How did it happen? Did Bart come downstairs and confront chandler and it escalated resulting in chandler getting the gun? Did chandler lay in wait and it was planned? I just wish I knew what happened next. The only person who knows is chandler. Look at his face in this interview. No matter how much of a sociopath he is, he had just spent days dismembering his parents, burning them in the fireplace, driving body parts all around. He looks exactly like that’s what he’d been doing. Just totally in that unimaginable place of disengagement and horror.
I'm pretty sure he laid in wait hiding and when his dad's back was turned he lit him up. Or his dad came and got him and they were on their way out the door when chandler shot him until he was dead
Did his parents plead for their lives? After the first shot, when Bart realised what was happening, did he plead with Chandler to spare his life? What did Chandler say in response? What about his doting mom Krista? Did she try to plead for her life, to reason with Chandler and try to calm him down?😭 These are the questions that go through my mind every time I watch the interrogation of this lying weasel. What a total shame and loss of valued members of society. 😭😭
@@stepheneurosailor1623 there is no evidence of cat being involved at all. all the camera evidence showed she wasnt there during the murder/burning, and she cooperated with the police. also chazzle built the couch fort so he would know if she woke up and looked in the freezer by chance

Its what was said, it's what was did! He had no mercy! Only her feet and thighs were found! Nothing else that there should answer your question! At least Bart's torso was in tact, we know what happened to their heads.
I wish there was a video of him prior to this to compare his behavior. I'm just wondering if he was trying to look insane or if he is just extremely weird.
you can see him in the courtroom and in the Ring cameras that were part of evidence when he went around to all the neighbors. he's definitely talking slower and flatter here than he is in the Ring videos
So many things to say about this trial, first of which is my heartfelt condolences to the remaining members of the Halderson family. Second would be how completely awful I feel for Cat and her Mother and family, they clearly had no idea that Chandler could possibly be responsible for carrying out such a heinous crime and their lives have suffered so much as a result. Poor Cress for having the sanctity of her paradise property marred by such a greusome act. All the people involved only cared for, loved and wanted to help Chandler in any way possible and they were repaid with this nightmare. Also the judge couldn't be more perfect. He is perfectly professional , respectfully and empathetic to all parties involved. He has made sure he has followed all the proper procedures in order to make sure the case proceded without any hitches. Such a tragedy
The one thing I've learned in the short time of my mortal life is that Karma can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Whatever energy you put out there (positive or negative) will come back to you. The tiniest random act of kindness is never a waste. Anything that one does to make another suffer, however, will regrettably come back to haunt you. Chandler is a scared little kid (inside) who felt/feels cornered. Did he feel as though he HAD to prove himself when he could not measure up? So, he lied about working for SpaceX? What do scared little animals do when they're cornered? Now my twins are applying for colleges. One has been accepted into a prestigious university. The other is finding it difficult...plays video games...not taking applying to college(s) seriously, (and/or is not ready?...but has also been accepted to a city college). I feel like I have to meet them both where they are, not where I want them to be. I cannot compare them, and say one is better than the other. In this tragic circumstance, I cannot say who is at fault, or what could have happened differently for a different outcome. Obviously, Chandler has issues...(seemingly more so with his father than with his mother?). I do not ever want to give my sons a reason to lie to me for fear of my disappointment and/or anger. Yes, I have failed as a parent (many times). I have asked for forgiveness. I also only ask in return from my sons that they try their best and do what makes them happy...to try and understand where they're coming from...let them know my expectations while they are still living with me...but not to shame them or expect the impossible and/or what they are unable to do successfully that is beyond their capabilities. I feel so heartbroken for Bart and Krista, Mitch, Cat, and family members, friends, and neighbors. So disturbing, I can't even begin to comprehend how Chandler has gotten away with his deceptions to the point when he felt like he had to kill and dismember both his parents when his web of lies fell apart. It's incomprehensible, and at the same, his web of lies are so obvious! I don't get it! He seems quiet, caring and sensitive, and at the same time a cold-blooded murderer? ...Like Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde?!?! Yikes! (.).,.(.)
We as parents are not perfect, but we do our best because we don't have a recipe on how to treat our children...we love them, protect them, take the best care, seeing that they have what they need but not EVERTHING they want!. We help them in every way that we can....once they grow up they are on their own...we cannot keep treating them like children anymore....they can look and find a job until they feel that they can move out....but if they are working i think parents should tell them to help with some money , that way they will learn to be responsible adults in society
You sound like a great dad, I never got approval from mine for anything, and he expected perfection, we butted heads constantly, I hated him at times. Never once did the thought of killing him ever cross my mind, even in the midst of more hate than I can describe here. It's a weird thing, the father/son relationship.
@@floweragarcia4377 I 💯% agree with you! Parents do everything possible to make the good human beings, and to be good citizens and a contribution to society. I went through a very difficult time when my daughter was around 21, but I stopped her, eventhough she worked during the day, and went to college a couple of days a week, but the rest pf the time it was going out with her friends that were older, and they already had a master’s degree. I talked to her and told her you must show me your grades or you have to move out, she made pretty much the same amount of money as I was, but she didn’t give me a penny. She got a car newer than mine, her closet was just Anne Taylor clothes, etc. She had to move out, then she learned about supporting herself. It was tough to do it, but now, 20 years later, she is getting her master’s degree, she has a job she loves, she is a mom and a wife. Life is not easy, but we must teach our children to do the right thing! works full time is a
He simply thought he would be inheriting half a million dollars or more and that would make getting a job unnecessary. He could put a down payment on the house in Florida and pretend to work at SpaceX. Or just move his gf into the house he inherited and keep pretending to work. He seems to be a severe narcissist and psychopath or something. Chilling and horrendous. He got into the pool with his gf’s mother and her partner to wash off after taking the body into the woods. His gf’s mother told him not to get in the pool because her partner was topless. But he had to wash off incriminating dirt. Unbelievable! He is so stupid too!
Nothing to see here folks, just another self-entitled, parent’s basement dwelling, video game addicted, man-child who, not having been taught any coping or social skills, freaks out when his parents force him to put down the PS5 controller and grow up so he treats his parents like the final boss in one of his video games and destroys them. How many times are we going to see this before we realize the carte blanche way were raising kids these days sucks?
I think he truly has a personality disorder and his parents were in denial for a long time. He should have been getting therapy and medication. I'm not saying that excuses him at all for his heinous actions, however. I cannot believe he just started telling lies at age 23.
If you have your priorities straight and got alot of good things going for u in life nothing wrong with video games being as your hobby. I just don't like how people are mentioning that he plays video games like that contributed to his crimes
You can tell from the sound of his voice that he knows he's caught it's just really sad and upsetting that he drug his girlfriend's family and her mother and her girlfriend into his sic demented operation it is infuriating to me that he would drag his girlfriend and her family into that how can she ever be expected to trust any man again after that is beyond me.
@sofie _ explain exactly what was said here that doesn't make sense to "you" or what was said that makes it sound like they don't know what they're talking about. Everything said makes perfect fn sense he probably knew he was caught and he definitely dragged his GF and her family into it especially by disposing of fkn body parts on that farm property of the mothers friends. So you kind of sound like you don't understand wth was going on with the trial because nothing you said remotely makes any sense, actually. And everything they said makes perfect fn sense. But hey u have a great day now
never fails to amaze me how deluded these people are that they truly think others might possibly believe their lies. This guy is such a pathological liar, it's second nature. Such elaborate lies to keep everyone thinking he was something he wasn't. To the extent he faked emails from work to him, and back; and had his GF believing they were going to buy this $699 house with a pool in Florida... if he had put his energy into something positive, he could have done something with himself.
It doesn't surprise me that folks can lie and kill but it always stun me how deep the depravity can go. My channel covers true crime and we've covered family annihilators but it's normally "Let's shoot up a family event" then they leave. It takes a special kind of evil not only to kill but to dismember bodies. His ex GF is so lucky she got out when she did.
I just don’t get with all the time the guy had, why not put the bodies somewhere no one would find them?? Such an elaborate effort to dismember but then failed miserably at hiding the remains. But it’s similar to his lies that were easy to figure out if anyone did the slightest follow-up.
He also very seldom ever made contact with the detectives why recounting events of his week. It always amazes me that these people want to plead not guilty and insist in going through with the trial as if they think that people are going to believe them and they're going to get off. It's odd that he's not even showing any stress strain or worry during the trial
@@fitflik4784 my thoughts exactly. I kept thinking, with where he put his father's body, from the aerial photographs, why didn't he just go out at night and drive on the other side of the woods along the grass there and place the bodies out in the wood further away from the house. No one would have seen him leaving his father's body. I can't believe it took him so long to figure out what to do with the bodies.

In a lot of these cases, kids state that they have been molested and abused for years but this guy had a nice and sheltered childhood, a good home and loving family, not from a broken home etc. so all of this was about the life insurance money. 🤷🏻♀️ That makes it so so much worse.
Technically, it was about all of the lies he thought he could fool people with but they started unraveling. He felt it was his only option on the day he found out his dad had called the college
Day 4 and the defence has done absolutely fk all to cross examination 😅 and what they have asked has no relevance to helping the defendant 😅 they got absolutely NOTHING 😅
I couldn't speak for his rarity (I'm in Sweden) but he sure is cordial and respectful.
The first line of the interrogation is so unbelievably funny:
"Hey Chandler, how you doin?"
"Not good"
"Good, good"
Chandler is a perpetual victim.
He's an idiot. "Her dad's like 90, but he got a buck over there when he was 95"....Must be a case a Benjamin Button

True dat 💯
He is so hyper focused on accounting for his own actions and whereabouts that he’s forgotten this is supposed to be about his missing parents and completely left out his mums co-worker coming looking for her on Friday after not showing up at work, hasn’t mentioned feeling any concern at all over the fact he hadn’t heard from them in days when his mum would usually be in constant contact, especially considering his being “injured”, nor the fake text he sent himself from his mums phone on the Sunday in order to buy himself some more time to cover up his crime before having to finally report them missing.
That's a Behavior Panel red flag-where is their energy directed? Out, towards finding the missing party? Or in, towards explaining their narrative?

And then we see the tiny little cut that he no doubt did to himself. Talking about big pools of blood in the basement. Lol
Such a "gushing" lil ole' family!!!
he was just trying to explain any blood found around the house or in the car
I do not believe he even fell down stairs or had head injury.
@@andsuddenly4252 stop judging people with type 2 diabetes, it's ridiculous.

Referring to his mother as "ma" seems so quaint and sweet and personal...yet he killed her, dismembered her body, tried to incinerate her remains and ultimately dispersed of most of her remains.
Does the defense know that they can ask questions? They might as well not even be in the courtroom.

The judge is a class act. Genuine, professional and courteous. Very refreshing!
The Judges is a very pleasant person. I ❤️ him.

NOT!!!
How did you realize that he is an idiot? hehe

Upon interviewing Rizzo, the dog does not believe Chandler either.
This is a wonderful channel. Glad I found it. Great job on the coverage of this particular trial. Please keep up the good work. 👍
True. I wish all the trials I watch covered trials in this manner. Another noteworthy observation is the quality of interrogation video & auditory for once

How in the world did he survive that HORRIFIC toe injury?!I`m afraid he`ll have PTSD for the rest of his life with the flashbacks of that near life-ending toe disaster, waking in cold sweats and screams..........How a movie would NOT be made about this is way beyond me......

I don't know why this sticks out to me but it's incredibly sad to now know that when his brother and his brother's fiancée were heading up to the cabin and got news that the detectives from the town their parents lived in couldn't come up because something came up it was because they found a torso in the same place that Chandler was seen prior.
Oh wow! I never thought about that. Good job detective. Ha
Yes that was a tough realization. Sad. There’s so many evil, disgusting, tools in this world.
Ohhhh I didn't realize that!
Disagree this dude is off! You can tell something isn’t right with him….

Can you imagine sitting there knowing this guy probably is telling a tall tale because you already know they found part of the dad. Crazy. This guy was so worried about keeping his lies he killed his folks over it. Why not just come clean! You have to be a very sick individual to do this to anyone. Hope he rots in jail forever
disecting them with a handsaw took it to another level than just pulling a trigger

I watch numerous Court Cases. This one is really the most difficult one to watch. The cruelty and disregard for the bodies make my stomach turn.
I agree. I'm just watching it, now. I cannot imagine dismembering anyone or even an animal, let alone a family member. It's gruesome.
23 years old and his dad sends him to his room? What an odd story he spins.
College student who gets "grounded" too. Sorry Chaz, maybe your girlfriend will believe that nonsense but not those of us not blinded by love. Grounded. As if!!
This kid is putting so many people through trauma, including his brother and girlfriend. For nothing because he's not getting off on this is one.
That bothers me so much too..like give up dude! You are done! Why put everyone through so much pain? It makes me sick.
He's not a kid, but a 23 y/o man. He's not willing to admit to his family what a monster he is.
The dad per Chandler seems quite rigid...while the mother seems to be nurturing, similar to Grant Amato's parents...whom he murdered along with his brother.
His GF played the lead role in this circus
Everyone mentions how hot it is being in July, yet this guy is always wearing a hoodie sweatshirt.
He's always cold. Maybe thats why he had the fireplace going
How about those lunch breaks in between those grizzly dismember photos! Great for the diet!
This guy had toothpick arms and legs, yet claimed to be a rescue diver? Why not full-on Navy SEAL?
I really believe people like him are just born wrong. I know some people grow up in terrible environments that can cause them to be like this. But some people really are just born with no ability to feel empathy and cannot ever change. It's really creepy to think about
Over bearing mothers are what causes narcissistic men.
So people keep saying it’s strange as he’s had no trauma. Trauma in childhood causes conditions like borderline personality disorder, adhd, anxiety, eating disorders. It’s not how narcissists are created
Look at how he talks, he’s eyes.. I’d hate to be near him …he gives me the creeps.😅
What is wrong with people that go through trials like this and force others to have to observe their horrific crimes when they know darn well they're guilty????
Imagine thinking the detective investigating your 2 missing parents wants to waste his time listening to you complain for 8 minutes about how much a stupid cut on your toe was bothering you 😒
'I actually cried...' This guy has no emotions and is creepy as hell.
It's because he chose to be evil. Speaking of hell, it's where he'll be for eternity.
He smiled right before he said it too

I think the defendant should see the body part evidence photos instead of only the jury. Maybe they can be posted on his cell walls.

AWSOME JUDGE
I really think Chandler's team did as well as they could given he was so intent on denying everything. Really the only thing they can do at this point is make sure the prosecution don't ask leading questions, rely on hearsay and lay proper foundation for evidence they provide, which they did do.
Keep in mind that these aren't super high paid crack team doing everything they can to undermine witnesses by any means necessary. They're overworked state attorneys trying to ensure Chandler gets a fair trial. And this is evident in how both prosecution and judge are very respectful of the defence and the objections they raise.
What a horrible betrayal by this Bum because his father's detective work unearthed the truth about all Chandlers lies! 🖤
He wasn’t prepared to be an independent adult.
This Judge is a blessing, very few as professional and as caring as this man❤️
The poor little Butcher just couldn’t get a break.

I think his plan was to move it from there

Did his parents plead for their lives? After the first shot, when Bart realised what was happening, did he plead with Chandler to spare his life? What did Chandler say in response?
