- In this video I am introducing the famous fruit seen in south India. The English named it ‘malabar tamarind’ while it is famously known as ‘kodappuli’ in Kerala. Even it is a fruit, it is mainly used to prepare fish curry in Kerala. And the kudappuli gives a magical taste to Kerala fish curry.
This fruit have many magical powers. It is used to reduce cholesterol and thus helps to reduce weight. Many famous celebrities have revealed the secret behind their weight lose is the use of Malabar tamarind.
The Kodapuli is mainly harvested in the rainy season and it is very difficult to dry them. In this video I have explained how to dry the kodappuli easly and how to keep in good for the next one year. So kindly watch the full video and share among who needs it . Thank you.

@@chrizvideos2724 For getting English name of a y plant,flower,fruit just type the Malayalam name in English transliterated asking what is its English name in any website like Google.
For example "WHAT IS ENGLISH NAME FOR KODAM PI OR LUDAM PULI IN MALAYALAM., WITH IMAGES." And,that will give you thousands of details,place of origin uses chemical properties nutritional values.....
Any way very good effort,keep ot up.
As you said Even malayalis using KudampUli for Fush curries have not seen it and think that it is KOKKAM.

Even in Malayalam, the name is KUDAM PULI the puli.which looks like a pot. And not like kuda or Koda or umbrella.
SINCE the ripe fruits have frills like an umbrella ?
Because usual Tamarind is
Vallan puli, or the puli which looks like a sword or vaall, not the valu that is a Tail.
A seed may take 15 years to grow onto tree and give good level of fruits.Now.many other methods used,still not grown as plantation due to many alternatives available for.giving SOUR TASTE TO INDIAN CUSINE
