  • The Batman Batman Visits Riddler In Arkham Asylum Scene ("You Inspired Me")
Scene From The Movie: "The Batman" (2022)
    Movie CLIP [4K ULTRA HD]
    • Original title: "The Batman"
    • Release date: March 4, 2022
    • Country: United States
    • Director: Matt Reeves
    • Genre: Superhero, Action, Crime, Drama, Romance
    • Budget: $200 million
    • IMDb: 8.0/10
When a sadistic serial killer begins murdering key political figures in Gotham, Batman is forced to investigate the city's hidden corruption and question his family's involvement.
    Cast:
▶ Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman: A reclusive billionaire who obsessively protects Gotham City as a masked vigilante to cope with his traumatic past.
▶ Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle / Catwoman: A nightclub waitress, drug dealer, and cat burglar who meets Batman while searching for her missing roommate; her moral ambiguity challenges Batman's black-and-white view of good and evil.
▶ Paul Dano as Edward Nashton / Riddler: A forensic accountant who is inspired by Batman to become a serial killer who targets elite Gotham citizens and livestreams his crimes. He seeks to "unmask the truth" about Gotham, taunting Batman and law enforcement with riddles.
▶ Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon: An ally of Batman in the Gotham City Police Department (GCPD). He is the only GCPD officer whom Batman trusts, and they work together to solve the Riddler case.
▶ John Turturro as Carmine Falcone: A Gotham crime lord and Selina's father.
▶ Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson: Gotham's district attorney.
▶ Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth: Batman's butler and mentor, though they have a hostile relationship and rarely speak.
▶ Colin Farrell as Oswald "Oz" Cobblepot / Penguin: Falcone's chief lieutenant who operates the Iceberg Lounge, the nightclub where Selina works. He is not yet the crime kingpin he is depicted as in the comics, and dislikes being referred to as the Penguin.

Thats not what happened. 1:01 the tables turn as we and the villain realize they won. His plans did go through and batman overlooked the biggest part of his plan because he was so focused on finding out who the Riddler was. Riddler just thought that he and batman were on the same side fighting against the 1% of Gotham not knowing Batman was one of them.

Funny how they both thought the other smarter than they were. Earlier in the scene Batman thinks Riddler has figured out that he's Bruce Wayne, but it turns out he was just randomly talking about Bruce. Meanwhile Riddler thinks Batman has figured out the full extent of his plan. I guess this goes to show that they deeply respect each other's mental abilities, regardless of what's happened between them.

I think the fact Paul Dano is over the top is why it’s so unnerving. Not because it’s so ridiculous and out of place (some found this scene funny) but because how relatable and real his craziness is. If you look at actual interrogations from the criminally insane and serial killers they are this unstable and weird. They don’t behave like how a normal person does, obviously otherwise they wouldn’t be classed in mentally insane.
Riddler shows this inner rage and it also shows how easily anyone can become just like him when you realise he’s just an angry orphan, just like Batman.

He targets criminals but because he isn't strong as batman or has the resources he plays with batman as a means to use and help batman unravel the corrupt criminals. This is the definition of Heros inspiring Villains but in this case, Riddler isn't a criminal, he is tired of corruption to the highest level that is never held accountable and that's what shocked Batman. It's why i hate villains in movies that are just like "ha ha I'm evil and I'm stronger than you so I'm just going to risk all my plans on a fight with you"
Those villains are never really memorable because we know that the main villain is gonna lose so there never really feels like there's real stakes.
