It is sure a much better venue than the polo field! Lakeland Linder Airport II (Drane Field) has an interesting history dating from 1941 and from 1942 when it was named Lakeland Army Airfield.
Thank you. You can get into the hobby at a reasonable cost with foam models. The models in this video are costly, but you can get flying for less than $200.
Turbines have certainly become the rage now that they are more affordable. Still a pity that Afterburner cans are prohibited by most Countries (You can kind of understand why they probably don’t want to make it possible for just anyone to build what is effectively a supersonic Missile. That would likely be.... hmmm.... ‘Bad?’). Although it just seems wrong for any SR-71 to not have whopping huge Bypass and Afterburner cans. Ooh! Nice looking early-model Stuka. And... As we are now seeing an increasing number of multi-cylinder radials, with some companies promising large-scale 9-cylinders like the Wasp or Cyclone radials, it would be really nice to see not only some double-wasps, or cyclones, but also some scale V-12 Allisons, Merlins, or similar Axis modeled engines so that we can get scale-sound for the fighters like the Mustang, Hurricane, Spitfire, Lightning, or evening the Typhoon (although a scale 24-cylinder would be a bit much to ask, even with a larger scale like a 1/6th Scale).
Lakeland is a city in Polk county Florida. It is in the center part of Florida. The same airport where Sun-n-Fun Fly in is held every year. You can find it with Google earth.
Nice video lousy vantage point. Don't take this as criticism but Man you really need a good 'Dead Cat'. You know the saying Audio is 90% of a good video. At least you didn't add Back Round Music. What camera and editor do you use?
I shoot with a Panasonic HC-WXF991 4k video camera and use Adobe Premiere for editing. One can not get a better vantage point than I had because only pilots and flight crew are allowed on the flight line. I once had a “dead cat” but it began to smell bad.
Ya it a pain ya have to know some one to get good access, Especially at a prestigious event like Top Gun. At least at EAA's Airventure they provide raised platforms for photographers and videographers. Just the guys making a living at producing videos get access and they have to pay extra for that access too. Keep up the great work love to see more.
That SR-71 was damned impressive. All of these models are exceptional but that SR-71 went above and beyond.
Yes it is beautiful
Never did see the F-8 shown in the thumbnail.
Hopefully there is some footage of the King Air flying in part 2!
Could it be any more windy?!?! HA definitely a challenging day. Nice job to all.

I viewing all three parts... very nice videos and top models... Thank you and thumbs up three times and an Abo... :)
Thank you
Amazing video and what a great hobby wish i could afford to do the same

Thank you ill keep that in mind
Beautiful models all of them!

Wonderful!
Love the vid, hate the wind noise!
Thank you sorry about the wind but it is always windy at Top Gun.
@@KirkleysPhotoworks True, however, I think it is probably more windy here in Arkansas. LOL :)
Awesome stuff 👍
Very nice video!
Could you please tell me more about this beautiful F-8 Crusader?
Thank you. I am sorry but I only did the video and do not know the history of any of the models.
That F8 Crusader looks like it's squadron markings are from VF 211 Fighting Check mates , which was one of my old squadron's sister squadron.
The Empire Test Pilot School ASTRA Hawk too, making Boscombe Down famous again, in small scale at least!
I am missing a pair of glasses. Has anyone seen them?
thumbnail F8=9:22
KirkleysPhotoworks good job!!
Thanks
Cool I was there too, awesome show
It is!
XB-70 @10:59 Great plane!
Nice video
Thank you. I hope you watched all three as two and three have some exciting parts.
cooooooooooooooooooooooool
Fantastic. Thanks for posting.
So is this in Florida or where?
Yes it is held at the Lakeland airport. That is in central Florida.
Waaww !! Wyfern its so rare !
Is that awesome SR71 from Ultimate Jets??
From what I understand the builder designed the plane from scratch.
i know it is a minor detail ,but why is the dollpilot in the German F86 Sabre wearing a Dutch national schoulder flag?
I do not know why the builder picked that combination.
The owner\pilot is dutch?.
I'd take a wild stab at an exchange pilot, lots of air forces do it.
LOL TarnishUK.. I was going to say it's part of the foreign exchange pilot program. You beat me to it. LOL
Everyone supposed to know where Lakeland Linder airport is?

Great job. I subscribed
Thank you
The F-16 T-Bird had a nose gear prob.
Why does in instabell plane like a RC f-16 model fly, it had no computers and stille fly
There are electronics onboard most of the models which help to control the airplane in flight. The pilots at Top Gun are also very skilled.
KirkleysPhotoworks thank you for tour andere😀
You are welcome.
Did the SR71 had parachutes,? I didn't see, must had been cool if she had them...
