  • New episode in our continuing series "Hobbyists gone wild":
We take a closer look at Mario Walter's L-39C XXXL super jet
Footage from Jet Meeting Slovenia 2020
    Body Kit by Tomahawk Aviation
    Specs:
    Scale: 1:2.7
    Wingspan: 3,50 m / 138"
    Length: 4,50 m / 177"
    AUW: 70 kg / 155lbs
    Required turbine size: 400 N
    Material: fibreglass/carbon composite
    Turbine: JetCat 550
    From manufacturer's website:
The Aero L-39 Albatros is a high-performance jet trainer aircraft developed in Czechoslovakia to meet requirements for a “C-39″ (C for cvičný - trainer) during the 1960s to replace the L-29 Delfín. It was the first of the second-generation jet trainers, and the first turbofan-powered trainer produced, and was later updated as the L-59 Super Albatros and as the L-139 (prototype L-39 with engine Garrett TFE731). The design is still produced in an evolved state as the L-159 ALCA, while more than 2,800 L-39s still serve with over 30 air forces around the world. The Albatros - the most widely used jet trainer in the world - is versatile, seeing duty in light-attack missions as well as in basic and advanced pilot training.

If that thing literally cost $70,000... yes. There are many new 'real' planes you can buy for that price, and even better used ones, including the cost to get a private pilot's license. Certainly would be more enjoyable as a hobby to fly a real plane, than control a toy one with a remote control. I think that's where IQ comes into play, or people who just have so much disposable income there's no consequence for handling money like an idiot.

I have 4 o5 airplanes, nothing over $100 and too many quads/drones , Co-Axials, FPVs and stunt. Probably around 45 or 50. Most were under $75. Have a couple GPS FPV too. Hubsans, Cheerson, SG and the SG Beast Pro 2.
I fly my SG700D the most. It's a lazy thing. Absolute, rock solid hover, Alt Hold, twin cameras and that position hold using the bottom camera. IT WORKS!!! Almost like GPS, but it won't come home. LOL But when it's at hover, it's like nailed in place. It doesn't move more than a couple inches at most.

You could absolutely fit a small child in something this size. What if he was old enough, but small enough and knew how to fly it like a expert. Gave him the controller also, could fly and land on their own. Crazy😂😂

@@xolomartinez6036 yeah sort of like driving a car. Or lifting weights or anything like that. You Taking Chances doing things you like. The people that are saying these things about the jet obviously don't have enough money to buy something like this and recuperate your losses if something was to happen to it. I'm pretty sure the gentleman that owns this has enough money to pay all his other bills after he has bought this LOL. Not everyone is it responsible with their money and buying more toys than what they can afford. I'm also betting he's intelligent enough to look into purchasing insurance for this item. Automobiles with the exception of a few are depreciating assets and you can buy insurance for them. There are companies that insure all kinds of things rare things and this isn't even considered rare if you go on UA-cam and look there are hundreds if not thousands of people flying six-digit RC jets and cars boats and other versions. So yeah he pays a monthly payment to insure it and it's covered because there's a value on it. Simple. I don't understand in our world if we can't have it and somebody else does we have to find a reason to be negative instead of being happy for the person that actually gets to play with it. Humans even when grown will act like babies still LOL.
