    Sad to see so many pilots don't know how to land.....most are either too high, too fast, or both....and none can figure out that its easier to go around and try again, as most just force the aircraft onto the ground.....clearly have more money than brains

    Scale pilots never disappoint on delivering pilot error mishaps. In order to learn to fly in iffy wind conditions you have to... fly often in windy conditions. RATHER then stay home and build get out your beater sport plane out on a crappy windy days and master the needed skills THEN you'll be better prepared on Scale Show day when the wind is up.

      Its always been this way with scale builders since I got into RC in the 1970s. They are too busy at home building rather then getting in the flight time needed to master gusty wind conditions.

      @@asommer518 I also tried to explain that on this page...in the 1970s I had planned to practice (practice, practice and practice) in landing an RC plane and also fly in the opposite direction (so left is right and right is left on the remote control stick), which quite a few RC pilots have problems with. And of course up and down at the right time, the so-called Flare.
      But I think the quality of this film is very good, so you can see what the rudder position is during landing...I see very good pilots in this film (almost everyone can take off), but they have some problems with landing.😉

    These planes are so much larger than I could tell.... lol, a lot larger & I'm curious about the grass they've got. I see the grass well
    maintained but it almost seems like they could roll a 3-4foot wide piece of outdoor carpet or similar material to help landings?
    IDKnow anything about these planes but after seeing so many having trouble, I offer that instead of questioning their ability to
    land their planes? I mean no disrespect of them as I have no idea how easy/hard this is or the wind speeds? peace guys

    Sorry, but some comments sound like "know it all" people. -But, I was interested in the Sea-Fury, and the Fokker DR1 Sequency. One hint: the Sea-Fury needs a CG of 25 % from the front of the wing ( I fly the Fury myself). The Fokker probably needs a twist of 2 or 3 degrees negative. I don't know the english word, in German the Twist of the Wing is called: " FlächenSCHRÄNKUNG".

    The jet guy thought he could tell the plane when to land like so many RC pilots. So much input on landings, all these planes are like roller coaster rides on the glide slope. Not flown RC in so many years, is there a way to set a reduced travel mode for landings so servers do not have as much travel or respond so quick? All these look so RC due to how fast they can change attitude. I would try to set my servos to be as close to the appropriate speed and travel as the real plane when flying.

    At 13.07 minutes the plane has its ailerons full to the left and not to the right, which it should do with crosswind...just a bit more practice landing.😉
    Around 1975 I was an RC flying instructor near a model airfield near Amsterdam (Netherlands) with, among other things, a Piper J3 with a 35cc Moki engine, but also a delta wing (from Graupner) with a 6.5cc WEBRA speed engine on the back and reached speeds of 250 km p/h.

    • @oldtimer2192
      @oldtimer2192 Рік тому

      Well noticed!
      Totally the opposite of what was necessary, not even full right was needed but at least some to help lock it down.
      I reckon he got aileron confused with rudder in an attempt to go left and back towards the centre of the strip.

    • @BXgek
      @BXgek Рік тому

      @@oldtimer2192 I forgot to tell you that the red-white airplane is very nicely built (I don't know what type and brand it is)...I was not such a hero at the end of the 1970s (building an airplane, with balsa wood etc)...
      I preferred to buy an already built RC airplane from someone in my hometown who could build very well but not fly, he just couldn't get the hang of it. I flew with RC aircraft from 1972 to 1990... then I unfortunately had to stop because I got Bechterew's disease in my neck and could no longer look upwards, a pity because I could no longer fly with an real Chessna 172, I couldn't pass the medical examination anymore.
      So I'm flying now with Drones with camera where I can see on the screen of a mobile phone where the drone is located. I really enjoy the beautiful RC planes on UA-cam with my 73 years.😊
