DVD menus used to be so soulful. Blu-ray menus are so bland it hurts me.
And with steeaming they're just gone
Preach it brother!
Sacrificing creativity and fun interaction for convenience.
The fifth element one always got me, amazing dvd screen
@@SuperTigger1999 to be fair, some blu-rays still have a cool interface... the Camping (french comedy) blu-ray had a map of the camping as its menu
These kids were actually good actors. It's refreshing to see kids that can act so well.
this deserves more likes
They don't at all talk like normal children even at the time this came out. You're delusional lmao
These kids? I only see one
They are natural and relaxed, selfcomposed.
Why is it refreshing?
Ahh, I remember those times when the digital age was kicking off, and everyone was so impressed by interactive menus for movies on DVD that all movies HAD to have it🤗🤗🤗
Yah, and now all we do is make fun of something before us. You created everything I have now, so I'm going to make fun of how outdated it is (even though they are the same people creating the new things as well).
I am still amazed that i can navigate a DVD menu on PC using my mouse, for some reason.
I always looked for games in any disc I put in
I feel like DVD menus were more creative. I remember getting the Star Wars trilogy and they had the interactive menus such as the carbon freezing chamber with Luke and Vader fighting. Blue Rays just ruined the experience by marketing their brand.
damn this isn't just asmr, this is some serious nostalgia man.
Yep.
Yep
Ye
I mean, the movie's not THAT old
@@rosenbergjr10 everything that from the 2000s feel nostalgic for kid that born in the 90s and late 80s. We only have a limited time as a kid so of course it will feel old
There is no other person in the world with this level of comittment to finding new and unique asmr sounds. This is like an explorer venturing in to the amazon to find rare species of flowers.
That’s a bygone era where they did a lot of cool stuff for dvd extras.
They use to have a lot of bonus features. I remember a lot of the animated movie DVDs even had games you could play.
@@NotAloneStudios Yup like the safari boat ride on lion King
@@NotAloneStudios my favorite was the claw machine game on toy story
I remember watching this as a kid over and over again! Thank you so much for this!
Ah lovely to see you here!!!
Same
Omg right it's nostalgia
I sometimes would put the movie in just to listen to Sally's side of the bonus features! X) I needed this
Nice to know I’m not the only one😊
Thanks to the viewer who recommended this - this is the type of unintentional ASMR from our childhoods that I love! I hope you don't mind the music
P.S. if there are ads these aren't mine, but because of the (admittedly great) David Newman soundtrack
I wish I could thank the person who recommended this I just wanna cry ❤❤
Yea this was one of first feelings of ASMR back then.
HOLY SHIT THIS IS THE FIRST ASMR EXPERIENCE I HAD, I LISTENED TO THAT MENU SEGMENT ON REPEAT!!!!
I bet you're feeling heavy nostalgia huh? I did too. This is so perfect.
its not asmr

ohhh from the beginning
I can’t believe it, this was my first introduction to ASMR!! I used to watch this on repeat with no idea why it made me feel the way it did. So crazy to see it was such a common experience!
Just what I thought, too! Amazed to understand now and to be able to watch it back again because multiple others felt the same about it!

I remember loving this part and purposefully letting it play. I didn’t know it was unintentional ASMR until now. Such nostalgia.
OH. MY. GOD. I legitimately remember listening to this as a kid just for ASMR before I even knew what that was. This just unlocked memories I completely forgot I had.
Holy sh*t I forgot how adorable Dakota Fanning was as a kid... even though she's technically older than me
Please, Explain "technically". Curiosity is killing me.
@@naokisan07 dakota fanning is now 27 years old. Im 20.
It's Dakota Fanning??? Oh my... I thought the girl just looks like her... wow!:) She is a good actress 😀

What does Dakota Fanning have to do with anything lol
This is no joke, my second experience with asmr was this specific menu when i was a kid. Im actually surprise someone suggested it and share it, i remember sitting late night real close to the tv while feeling tinglish and falling asleep to Dakota’s soft speaking. Memory unlocked 😂♥️
I absolutely cannot believe somebody made this video. I always thought to myself why do I love watching her part over and over again but just seeing how many people felt the same way I do makes me so happy 😂♥️♥️
This is the very first unintentional asmr I’ve ever seen!!! I’m glad this is here XD
Its a mixture of horrifying and relaxing
This is great. My first memory of ASMR was the scene in E.T. when Elliott was showing E.T. all his toys. That scene always relaxed me and I never knew why until I found out about ASMR
Me too!! I loved that scene cause it was so relaxing. Others I liked were the scene with Snape and Narcissa Malfoy in the sixth Harry Potter film where they make an unbreakable vow and that dentist scene at the end of Charlie and the chocolate factory

You cannot imagine how long I've waited for this video!!! I am so attached to this relaxing asmr start menu that I still til this day put in the dvd to listen to the menu if I'm feeling particularly anxious!!! Thank you so much for making this :)

Omg this is nice! i'm on loop like 20 now! never saw this movie or had this dvd so this is new to me but strangely still nostalgic in tone. kids today will never experience the unique experience of dvd/bluray menus and bonus features.

Forget nostalgia bomb this is a nostalgia nuke.
Oh wow memory unlocked, DVD menus used to be the cat's pajamas 😁
I just woke up and I’m already about to fall asleep, but also that nostalgia omg… the little sound effects also reminds me of my favorite game growing up, little big planet 1-3
Thanks to your video's I made a playlist and fell asleep so peacefully last night. These video's are not only nostalgic with happy childhood 90s vibes, but they take away anxiety and negativity
It sucks that DVD’s are dying due to streaming because these title screens were always nice and if this kind of thing was in streaming platforms.
they arent. they are as used as anything else

I use to watch this movie all the time and used it to fall asleep to. The sounds of the menu just took me back to when I was a kid
I love this movie, but I guess I never really let this side of the DVD menu play out. It's cool to see some ASMR come out of it!

The 1950's Cinderella DVD menu with the horse carriage looped is also good asmr!
I'm completely addicted to this, a mix of asmr and nostalgia.

@@ryanciani3324 girl bye it’s unintentional ofc it wasn’t meant to be asmr..
I see a lot of "this was my first ASMR experience ever" comments. Which makes me wonder what everyone's first experience was...whether it be this or something else. Before you knew about ASMR, what did you think was happening when you were feeling it? Mine was a segment of a dinosaur documentary called "Beyond Jurassic" specifically a part where paleontologist Phil Curry was explaining the use of serrations on carnivore teeth. It was short, like only 2 minutes long. But I would rewind it over and over just to listen to it. Mind you this was in the early 90s and was on a VCR with no remote lol. I grew up, and I don't remember how but I discovered ASMR. And 1 day i remembered that part of the film and realized what it was...I spent like 3 years trying to remember ANYTHING I could to find that documentary. After so long I gave up. I randomly found it again about a year ago and have watched it probably as many times now than I had as a kid.
The best channel concept u ever seen
Wife: "So, what are you watching?"
Me: "There's no good way to explain, so I'll just sign the divorce papers."
I remember going to sleep while watching this on my computer and I would half wake up throughout the night and it would be playing different screens over and over and over....
i have this on dvd 🥺
I have always gotten tingle from Lucy tapping on her pad !!
FINALLY someone does this
This DVD menu reminds me so much of all those generic "multimedia CDROM" games that were so prevalent in the 90s where a game could be literally nothing but prerecorded media on rails and everyone was blown away by it
Great Find!
Oh I watched this movie so much at daycare growing up! 😂😅❤
Very relaxing indeed.
The fact that you all remember this from your childhood makes me wonder if I am too old for the internet
Is that Dakota Fanning playing Sally
Yep!
I love this.
I always wanted Sally's little phone thing when I was a kid. Kinda still do, it's cute
"She was a quiet girl, a control freak, with a long to-do list"
I remember this one ad on late night abc family I believe? It was a bare minerals makeup demo for a powder foundation/setting powder. I have no idea how to find it.
I know a lot of people think that the live action Cat In The Hat movie is a bad movie but I disagree with that. I wouldn't call this a bad movie as we later see. Even though it has some weird jokes along with some adult humor and not so good following of the source material it's not that bad. When you separate all of that and just treat this movie as a standalone feature it dose come out to be a fun Mike Myers flick with some nice visuals and a still somewhat decent story.
I like the movie and here are my thoughts and why the live action Cat In The Hat movie makes a good film to watch.
1. It teaches you unemployment and if you don't pay for the stuff that you own then they get repossessed. Like Larry's TV for example.
2. It teaches you how to get along with others.
3. It teaches you teamwork. Like when Sally and Conrad shut the crate in The Mother of all Messes.
4. It teaches Joan to pay attention to her son Conrad about Larry's dirty methods of sending away Conrad to Military School so he can steal Joan's money and her house.
5. It teaches Conrad not to be a messy revel and Sally not being a bossy suck up.
6. It teaches you not to mess up your house before a party or a event. Like Joan's Meet and Greet party.
This is what I like about the movie because what makes it good are some life lessons that we learn in our everyday lives. Not only that in the behind the scenes Mike Myers said when he was a kid The Cat In The Hat was his favorite Dr. Seuss book because in the movie The Cat is a teacher and he is teaching Sally and Conrad not only to have fun but learn lessons along the way. Which is why this movie is not only fun and a good one to watch but it also teaches us life lessons in the movie when we get older and have jobs as well.
This movie traumatized me as a kid. Ah the sweet nostalgia 😌

damn this bring me back
Was literally just watching Cat in the Hat yesterday lol
I hope for more childhood inspired ASMR!

Wow the last thing I’d expect for an ASMR video is to take me back as a kid and be a main menu loop lol
its not asmr
Did anyone do this with "The Ring" dvd? That was intense.....
omg the nostalgia... remember when dakota fanning was that tiny?!?!
I wonder how many people realize that little girl is Dakota Fanning.
When you’re sitting there watching DVD menu over and over, eyes half closed. Others not understanding why you won’t start the movie.
anyone notice she skips 6?
It's like falling asleep during the movie and waking up all confused when seeing the main menu😂
This brings back the memory of staying at my cousins house and we all made pallets on the floor to watch nacho Libre and everyone went to sleep but me because I can't sleep through movies and the movie would end and be on the menu for a long time and then start the movie over again 😂
Nostalgia in my ears

I used to wake up in the middle of the night to these menus
Really feeling the ASMR with this one! It's great, thank you!
Though, after a couple of loops, I really started to feel annoyed by all the squeaking...
I still tried to get past that (proving how great of an idea that is), but yeah, 1 minute into it and I had to stop again.
I had to do something to be able to enjoy this better!
So I made a version of it without squeaks.
