It's funny how you hear "time" differently as you go through life. At 15-20, I didn't give much thought to the line "one day you'll find, ten years have got behind you". At 25-30, it hits you like a brick in the face ;) ...and in your 40's the line "every year is getting shorter" is so real. ...and as others have said, to properly experience Pink Floyd, headphones are a must. They designed their sounds to envelop you.
Specifically, Pink Floyd. 50% more sounds are heard in the headphones. Especially in the album "Wall". The work of a sound engineer is a textbook of excellence for all time.

But when you wake up and find "Ten years have got behind you, no-one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun'" That hits home like a brick in the face, as a, previous commentator said. Arguably? I don't think that there is an argument. As far as I'm concerned, The Dark Side of the Moon is the greatest album ever made without a doubt. It's the only album that could make The Wall pale in comparison.
Did you know that Dark Side of the Moon holds the world record of being on the Billboard 200 list the longest (by far)? 917 weeks which would be a total of 17 years. 1973-1988 and also in 2009 it appeared on the list again. I was just going to say the same, man :) But I mean it's not good in general (out of respect to the authors). Better pause it when you need to comment in the middle... ;-)
I'd agree in every other situation. How rude!! But in fairness, it is a reaction channel. To be expected. At least younger generation does show appreciation for it. Was released close to my 10th bday. Had no clue at the time of course, till six years later. Crazy!

I couldn't hear you while the music was playing. I have heard these songs thousands of times over the last 45 years. I want to hear what you have to say. Lovely accent.

When I was a kid this was a song my parents listened to and I heard it by proxy. As a teenager I listened to it so I could be "cool". In my twenties listening to it was proof that I understood music. In my thirties I saw the writing on the wall. Now, in my forties, and having been diagnosed with a terminal disease (don't worry, it's treatable and I'm not going anywhere any time soon) it means something else entirely. Such a perfect piece of music that only gets better with the listener's age.
This song totally depressed me as an 18 year old. I was frightened that if I didn’t get motivated my life would waste away before I realized it. I worked hard in university with this song as a subconscious motivator.
I wish I'd listened to it when I was 18. I'm almost 30 now, and I have frittered and wasted so much time in an offhand way...is there no way to redeem my lost time...
Kudos. Most don't realize the ending is a reprise of Breathe. Just a suggestion... headphones. This isn't just some audiophile fetish. They really will transform your Pink Floyd experience. This was my first Pink Floyd album, bought it while in high school back in 1973. I've always found it best to listen to Floyd, any album, with a great pair of headphones and just sit back, relax and enjoy. Over the past 40+ years I've owned this on vinyl, 8-track, cassette, CD, Original Master Recording virgin vinyl and Super Audio CD 5.1. It never gets old. No Pink Floyd didn't make any music videos, they were around way before MTV and videos were popular, they did make a movie out of their album "The Wall". I remember playing this song really loud on my headphones, the solo is insane! Here’s the deal with Floyd, if you’re a musician then you’d see its concept in a whole but if you’re not then their lyrics would justify them!
It's good that you like it. Being an idle bollox I have not scrolled through all of the replies, so, can't tell if or not anyone has pointed out that Pink Floyd is a group, not a person. 'By the way, which one's Pink?' this might mean something to you if you continue your journey into Pink Floyd.
When this album first came out, I took myself out to the fields at sunset, lay on the grass, listened to it, when it ended the stars began to appear. Perspective, it gives you some.
Not so, the music is that good you could take away the lyrics. I would love an instrumental album by Pink Floyd, they have so much great music, that to me, is why they are so good.
Georgia,I laughed at your reaction to the clocks, alarms and chimes, because it reminded me of the first time I heard this album. It was in 1973 just after it was released, and I was listening to it through headphones in the dark. When the clocks went off I nearly crapped myself....LOL !! This album stayed in the best selling charts for something like 18 years, and to this day continues to sell in huge numbers. Just a little trivia there for you. Floyd's music is almost impossible to pigeon-hole,such is it's diversity and complexity. Thanks for sharing that !!
True story: I was driving home at 2:00 in the morning, dozed off at a traffic light listening to Dark Side Of The Moon, the alarm clocks from Time went off, woke me up, I looked up and the light was green, so I drove on my merry way.
discovering pink floyd seems to be a part of growing up.. i took me quite a long time. dno why, i listen to all kinds of music but for some reason i just hadn't clicked with them... then one night i sat in a car.. stoned out of all reasonable states of being and someone put this on and then i heard it.. and since then i seem to rediscover them over and over again, today i am and have been for quite the time on a fast route to be a grumpy old man.. listening to them instantly takes my mindset back to that night..
heard this whole album aged 17 at a party with a lot of tokers, incense, beers and super chilled vibes. 2am drifting in and out of consciousness and my life was never the same. musical perfection. if you grew up in a small town with friends who had no ambition beyond the next beer or just getting high in the park then the lyrics will resonate so much. as @alltruenews says below, as you age this song will connect with different eras in your life and break your heart.
Thanks for the reaction. You were right, this track switches at the end into a reprise of Breathe. A fantastic song, you should check out the lyrics, they're pretty deep.
The thing about pinkfloyd it's very complicated you really need to feel the music and just relax your mind and understand the meaning of the songs then you will be blown away with the masterpieces these guys have created.
I actually getting goosebumps hearing Ping Floyd, they are masters at integrating random sounds, which are normally not heard in music, and they do it so effortlessly and masterful.
You’ve done Floyd, Zeppelin, and Rush. You, my dear, are now ready for the mighty, YES. For you, I recommend “Yours is no Disgrace” or “Siberian Khatru” for a first listen.
Time is slow when you wait, fast when you are late, short when you are happy, long when you are bored, endless when you are in pain, and deadly when you are sad... Time is like a river, you cannot touch the same water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again. Every time, time is determined by our feelings and our psychological conditions, not by clocks, so Always remember to have a nice Time...
I also heard it when it first came out, and it still raises the hair on my neck. Like others suggested--headphones, in the dark, from start to finish. Pink Floyd, Zepplin, and Yes got me through the 70's.
And if you listen to this again in 20 years time, the song will mean so much more to you than it does now, then apparently in another 20 it'll mean even more... Incredible piece of art. If you're young it's a lesson, middle aged it's a nudge and old it's a kind of regret.
There is a chasm of music from this era to explore for young listeners. Some albums like this are a complete compilation and need to be played in their entirety. You may like these 2 songs by Black Sabbath 🌍 Planet Caravan 🌲 Solitude and for education purposes listen to 🤘 War Pigs
for see Pink Floyd to Stage , react to Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb ,, live . Pulse .. 1994 .. best show , best live guitar solo of all times .. you have a new subscriber .. good week to you ..
For a real experience, buy Dark Side Of The Moon in vinyl mastered from the original analog tapes. Digital flattens out the song - analog holds much more information. As Neil Young said, listening to a CD is like looking at a photocopy of a masterpiece painting. Also, digital downloads from iTunes removes 90% of the information from the song. I don’t know whether UA-cam removes digital information like iTunes does.
Ahhh, now we're talking. David Gilmour, guitar god. All of the sound effects on this album are done by hand, due to the lack of technology at the time, or for authenticity. This entire album is a masterpiece, that must be listened to, uninterrupted, with headphones on, from beginning to end. It's about life, insanity, death. It's a journey.
Headphones, headphones, headphones! You will enjoy this Pink Floyd experience so much more. Glad to see you enjoying Floyd. They will take you on a journey for sure! I suggest you take a listen to the great gig in the sky studio version. You will be amazed and the singer Clare Torey did the song in one take. Truly remarkable
One of David Gimour's recent performances, concert from Pompei, in 2016.. Here's the whole playlist, in the link at the end of the comment! Comfortably Numb version from Pulse concert in 1994 is my favorite,so if you didn't hear that version, correct that asap! :) That 5-minute guitar solo at the end, is out of this world! In fact, here's the link for that first - ua-cam.com/video/iJZYG5qwHHI/v-deo.html and then the whole playlist of the recent concert - ua-cam.com/play/PLsDZ7QcsbDR8Wx2-l1oDvJA-77ioQ6mDZ.html
This reaction sort of sums up the entire purpose of the song. A young person talking through the lyrics because there is something else distracting them.... then (presumably) years later they realize that it all passed them by and they missed the message when it mattered most.
Great band ..so much for you to discover from them ... Great that you recognised breathe in this song .. the whole album is a concept album and the songs flow into each other
FYI, this album (Dark Side of the Moon) was on the charts for more consecutive weeks than any in music history. 741 weeks!!, from 1973 to 1988. I know young people today tend to listen to individual songs, not whole albums - but if you listen to this entire album, you will understand why it's considered by many to be the best of all time. (And as others have said, listen to the lyrics! lol)
Guess by now, people have explained the importance of headphones. (Or a real stereo with speakers separated) “Dark side” as you may have read, needs a good listen from beginning to end. Thanks and hope you’re expanding your musical mind with some more Pink Floyd!!!
Welcome to the never ending journey known as the Floyd zone. To enjoy the experience even better headphones and beginning to end laying back with the lights out.
actually at the end of time there is a re-spire of breathe in the air, they played this along original breathe at 2005 reunion of pink floyd thats just impressive!
Good to see lass from the north east on here, thought we were a dying breed lol, you should react to the rest of the Album in order. Also Pink Floyd is the band not just the lad singing. On this it’s David Gilmour on guitar and he’s sharing the vocals with the keyboard player Richard Wright 👍🏼👌🔥
I was born in 1972 as they were working on this album so I suppose it was inevitable it was in my blood. Grew up on these ever since Another brick in the Wall 1979 on top of the pops. I hear your geordie accent so that makes you from my area.👌
Pink Floyd is number one all time favorite band, been following since the year this lp was released in 1973 I still have the original vinyl from that year. but I got just about everything they done on vinyl, cd or mp3 and what I don't have I can find it here on youtube. They have such a plethora of music and you just scratching the surface, heard the guy in the background mention Have a cigar, great tune. Now just to go off topic your eyes even though I seen them in 3 previous videos they just had me mesmerized on this one made think of another song for you to click on and check out Pat Travers - Matrial Eyes ua-cam.com/video/S9iO0fp0nFY/v-deo.html oh and Merry Christmas again
great arent they :) i heard Pink Floyd as a kid, mum n dad played em, i didnt get it then, but now i do. David gilmours voice is so smooth, even now. and nobody makes a guitar sing almost like he does. try a song from the Pulse concert. guy behind you knows Pink floyd i think,so either one u know, or any really. all amazing. you will love em :) EDIT.. and you are fine, meaning new at this but just as good as many on here, just be natural, honest.
Good stuff. Haven't heard that since the days when I listened to radio. :) Another really amazing older band is Queensryche - check out the live performances from Tokyo of "Take Hold Of The Flame" and the kinda dystopian sci-fi fantasy-themed "Queen Of The Reich." Their singer Geoff Tate had a voice that was nearly as impressive as Dimash. (checks your video list) oh, check out Dimash S.O.S., and Disturbed "Sound Of Silence" if you haven't heard them already - with the latter, I personally prefer the sublime Live On Conan performance, but the official video with over half a billion views is awesome too.
Another good one like Comfortably Numb from the same album is Run like Hell If you want good sound and visual quality check out David Gilmore-Run Like Hell Pompeii 2016. Don’t worry, David is the lead singer for PF, just had a period where Roger Water and himself were in a legal battle and DG couldn’t use the name PF
This album is such an important album, it pretty much sums up everything you'll experience in your life in a nut shell. The older you get the more relevant it becomes and this song in particular makes you reflect the experiences you have had in your life and how fast time seems to go by the older you get. I'm 35 now and it feels like it was only last week I was walking to school at 13 years old listening to this on my Walkman (cassette player) and now its 22 years later. Should someone from Sunderland be saying to someone from Newcastle you done well in that video??? ;-) P.S try not to talk when your listening to floyd, you spoke over some of the most magical bits. Even though your a Geordi il let you off 😄

It’s true what people are saying here. PF and other bands from this era were recorded for earphones. We’d love to see your reaction when your listening with headphones. It’s a whole different experience. 👍

That is more honest reactions from you than any other reactors I've watched. And people, doncha know, this is Twiggy! Transported thru time from the late hippie 60's! If you don't know who Twiggy is, Google her. And was a wee lil' joke.
You should listen to the entire album in one go as it was conceived as a single musical piece. It'll blow you away and you'll realise why it's one of the biggest selling albums of all time. Enjoy. Oh, yeah...bit of weed does enhance the mood :). Did they make a video....yep. Just UA-cam them but you gotta watch the whole Pulse 1994 gig.

heard this whole album aged 17 at a party with a lot of tokers, incense, beers and super chilled vibes.
Oo i will do!
I'm sure your grandparents are proud that you listened to that...And that is Breathe reprise. Right before Clare Torry's masterpiece.
Thank you!! Breathe is my favourite by far!
Insane Blondie If you haven’t already, listen to Great Gig In The Sky.
I literally agree so much!
Hit the nail on the head.
Time is slow when you go fast. when your slow it's a crime. when you dont seem to have it, there's never enough time
I also heard it when it first came out, and it still raises the hair on my neck.
You may like these 2 songs by Black Sabbath

Thank you I'll take a look!!! :)
for see Pink Floyd to Stage , react to Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb ,, live . Pulse .. 1994 .. best show , best live guitar solo of all times .. you have a new subscriber .. good week to you ..
Thank you so much!!!!
@@InsaneBlondie 👍✨😎
Some of Pink Floyd's popular albums are The Wall, Dark Side Of The Moon, and Wish You Where Here
If you REALLY like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin,,,,,you've got GREAT taste !!!!!!! They're the BEST. 👍🔥👍🔥👍🔥👍
Dark Side of the Moon is the most important album of the 70'. There's no other album that comes close to it, except maybe another Pink Floyd album.
The most important album of the XX century!
Do yourself a solid and listen to Dark Side Of The Moon in one sitting. You won't be disappointed.
My boyfriend Loveeees it !
Awww cool, haven't heard that for a loong time. Bringing up memories of student days :-)
Time...
Money...
Elements that govern human race..
Spott on👌
Headphones, headphones, headphones! You will enjoy this Pink Floyd experience so much more. Glad to see you enjoying Floyd. They will take you on a journey for sure! I suggest you take a listen to the great gig in the sky studio version. You will be amazed and the singer Clare Torey did the song in one take. Truly remarkable
Yeah understandable! I listen to breathe with them in and it's amazing!
In fact, here's the link for that first - ua-cam.com/video/iJZYG5qwHHI/v-deo.html
and then the whole playlist of the recent concert - ua-cam.com/play/PLsDZ7QcsbDR8Wx2-l1oDvJA-77ioQ6mDZ.html
This song is utterly beautiful completely on its own terms. So are your eyes.
This reaction sort of sums up the entire purpose of the song. A young person talking through the lyrics because there is something else distracting them.... then (presumably) years later they realize that it all passed them by and they missed the message when it mattered most.
Great band ..so much for you to discover from them ... Great that you recognised breathe in this song .. the whole album is a concept album and the songs flow into each other
Yeah Joe told me half way throughout because I was baffled I love breathe sooooo much!! Thank you as always OG!
There are dvds from 1987 and 1994.
And also, there’s one dvd where they’re all playing together, in 2005.
(And as others have said, listen to the lyrics! lol)
I WILL I WILL :D
i first heard Pink Floyd in 1969 when i was 6 ... and have loved them ever since
Guess by now, people have explained the importance of headphones. (Or a real stereo with speakers separated) “Dark side” as you may have read, needs a good listen from beginning to end. Thanks and hope you’re expanding your musical mind with some more Pink Floyd!!!
Thank you so much! Definitely need to!!
Welcome to the never ending journey known as the Floyd zone. To enjoy the experience even better headphones and beginning to end laying back with the lights out.
Yassssss!
actually at the end of time there is a re-spire of breathe in the air, they played this along original breathe at 2005 reunion of pink floyd thats just impressive!
The final sentence is from the american poet Walt Whitman, "Goodbye my fancies".
Hahahahahhaha!!!! & Yeah my lad told me because I was baffled but I defo need to listen to the rest :D
Amazing how a couple of guys in their twenties, would go on to create an album that became one of the greatest of all time.
Mason, Waters and Wright were pushing 30 when they recorded this in '72. Mason and Water are in their mid-70s now.
dcanmore alright I was wrong lol. I didn’t know they were that old back then
The most perfect piece in the history of music, and the most perfect face of a girl.
I was born in 1972 as they were working on this album so I suppose it was inevitable it was in my blood.
Grew up on these ever since Another brick in the Wall 1979 on top of the pops.
I hear your geordie accent so that makes you from my area.👌
Have a listen to Pink Floyd's "The Great Gig in the Sky" The female vocals in that song sends shivers up my spine.
Oo a pink Floyd song with a female singing? That's new for me😂
@@InsaneBlondie you will not be disapointed
its a spine chilling master piece
{:-) PAV uk
Wish You Were Here is a beautiful acoustic Pink Floyd song. 😃
one thing u dont do during a pink floyd masterpiece is talk..u just close ur eyes and float....:)
This song reverts back to "Breathe"
It's a masterpiece.
Loveeeeeeee breathe😭
@@InsaneBlondie,
Me too,
It's like floating on a Cloud.🎧
great arent they :) i heard Pink Floyd as a kid, mum n dad played em, i didnt get it then, but now i do.
Floyd albums are like a story, follow one song to the next. Headphones.
Ooo ill add to my list :) thank you!
It's because Time goes right into Breath in the Air
Headphones are a must.
Learnt that with Pink Floyd especially :))
see on youtube at kids react to pink floyd part 1 and 2
If you want something trippy, listen to The Wall album, then watch "The Wall" movie. Spectacular.
Digging around on a piece of ground in your hometown....and that sun is catching up with me...God I'm tired..well
Life goes on!
Another good one like Comfortably Numb from the same album is Run like Hell
If you want good sound and visual quality check out David Gilmore-Run Like Hell Pompeii 2016.
Should someone from Sunderland be saying to someone from Newcastle you done well in that video??? ;-)
P.S try not to talk when your listening to floyd, you spoke over some of the most magical bits. Even though your a Geordi il let you off 😄
learning to fly - pink Floyd
You should listen to Pink Floyd's recording of Learning to Fly. I attended Pink Floyd's Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
I play Guitar and work in Music. Love seeing your reactions to my generations Music. First time I saw Pink Floyd they did this album "Dark Side Of The Moon" at the Hollywood Bowl CA. 1972. Cheers...
Thank you!!! Good luck with the music my boyfriend does it too it's definitely a Great path!
Thanks, the Music World is not what it used to be when great bands like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd started out. Here in Hollywood money is the driving force behind the Music Industry more then ever. Cheers!
You need a good set of headphones and speakers. To get the full effect. Enjoy
You should try 'Us and Them' .From same album. Real emotional! Enjoy the greatest band of ALL time! By the way, David Gilmore has remixed some of their material. Phenomenal. Too bad he can't run for POTUS.
It’s true what people are saying here. PF and other bands from this era were recorded for earphones. We’d love to see your reaction when your listening with headphones. It’s a whole different experience. 👍
Most certainly will do😁
Actually don't mind that you talk a little during parts of the song. That's why I am subbing you. You give instant reactions to the song.
That is more honest reactions from you than any other reactors I've watched.
And people, doncha know, this is Twiggy! Transported thru time from the late hippie 60's!
If you don't know who Twiggy is, Google her.
And was a wee lil' joke.
ooo I shall do! Thank you so much again for being so nice!! Honesty is the best policy :D
You might want to listen to Pink Floyd, the pulse tour, comfortably numb........ you will love it🎸
I love to drift away in Floyds rythmic waves..great reaction..🌹🌹😀😀😀🌹🌹
You should listen to the entire album in one go as it was conceived as a single musical piece. It'll blow you away and you'll realise why it's one of the biggest selling albums of all time. Enjoy. Oh, yeah...bit of weed does enhance the mood :). Did they make a video....yep. Just UA-cam them but you gotta watch the whole Pulse 1994 gig.
its a concept album
One thing you've done Perfect...
You don't pause Pink Floyd Songs...!
Goodjob
A few suggestions mate. A darkened room, headphones, black light and black light posters, insence , a bean bag, a pipe of hash and the whole album lol. Free Four and When the Tigers broke free are also well worth a listen.
Yes! Awesome, do more Pink Floyd! "WIsh You were Here" would be a great one to react to, as would "Comfortably Numb"
Also, great live version of both are on the album "Pulse" : ))))))
In your reaction about college, how about pink flotyd another brick in the wall
Suree!!!
Great suggestion
No puedes entenderlo normal, necesitas el viaje. Después se hará el tema que más ames en tu vida, argentina presente.
Been listening to Floyd since 1973 saw them live 'a number of times" (38) too many tracks that could recommend but continue with the journey - enjoy your Geordie reactions LOL
If you haven´t already listened to The great gig in the sky by Pink Floyd. You should.
Somehow I am now 52 years old. This is one of the saddest songs I listen to. TIME!!!
54
This is a song about life and how we waste it until we die.
Лучшая музыка в мире! Мне 33, меня отец подсадил ни них!) мое покоеление - это Korn, Limp bizkit, Linkin park...) but Pink Floyd - it’s not even an another level - it’s another universe. The best music ever!!!
Knowing you like "breathe in the air" I was expecting to see your reaction at the end of the song🥰🥰
see on youtube at kids react to pink floyd part 1 and 2
