Nikki the Tiger Shark 😱

Some of our guests recently had a very lucky and special encounter with female tiger shark ID’d as “Nikki” on their One Ocean Diving Pelagic Shark Research Snorkel/Freedive Tour! 😍 Tiger sharks themselves are fairly rare to see, believed to be due to their smaller population count and generally more cautious nature, but it’s especially uncommon for them to come up so close! 💙 It was a really beautiful and humbling dive to say the least. Mahalo, Nikki, for gracing us with your powerful presence.
Although peak tiger shark season is coming to a close, we are still getting a few tiger shark swim-bys, plus many more sandbar sharks lately, and whale season is approaching which means hopefully seeing them on the horizon soon 😊

Ocean is so awesome Led Zeppelin wrote a song about her before she was born! Thanks for all the work done to educate us and protect sharks! Undoing the Hollywood damage will take time. I hope we have enough
