- Dear Queen Nikki, Ali’i Nikolé has been through a lot over the year, from injuries to entanglement, she’s one of the oldest, more powerful, and yet at times one of the sweetest. (Please maintain a high healthy level of respect by never assuming anything about the behavior of any individual shark or human-animal alike.)
She is one of my greatest shark teachers for what has been the far majority of my lifetime now.
I can remember her younger transitioning from a juvenile to a sub-adult, sub-adult to adult, and now in her grandma status I watch how she’s changed, no longer batting a lower eyelid at the younger spunky sharks, just calm and confident in her size, expereince, and seemingly focused on her goals.
Growing with me I look back and realize we both share a curious nature. Though she taught me so much I realize the interactions were because we were both seeking to learn about each other.
I’ve had many times where I’ve been worried for her, because he showed signs of an injury or was away for a long time, possibly entangled, as we worry for sharks like Nani aka Roxy now.
There are older sharks than Ali’i Nikolé with whom we developed relationships and who have disappeared over the years. I hope she is able to live a long life.
Thankfully we were able to get the law passed to fully protect sharks in Hawaii, but to protect sharks like Ali’i Nikolé Queen Nikki here and world wide please do not supporting commercial fisheries, who lose so much fishing gear contributing to more than 50% of the marine debris in the ocean, and of the kind that is more likely to cause suffering and continual death (nets)
Help ban finning and shark fishing globally.

It makes me so sad when I see all her injuries😢 and to know that those were probably done by humans. When are humans ever gonna learn that you don't go into oceans and hurt living animals, how would they like it if it was done to them. So so sad. Bless your heart for being there for them and bringing awareness to what is happening to our ocean life ❤
Just once, prove your point about how sweet she is by not doing a redirect. Then I’ll be convinced.
That's not how sharks work you redirect them because they don't have hands to grab things so they use their mouths.
@@amandajackson668 sharks don’t have hands???🤯 I can’t argue that I guess. So she would show her affection and love by biting her is what you’re saying as opposed to a hug?
@@byron1509 horses dogs and cats all show affection by biting and nibbling. When I say cats I do mean all cats, by my brother's cougar used to hold my fingers in her mouth. That is rather wild to be honest, first time was stressful to say the least.

@@StacyBaldwin-qv5cj It is rare but tiger sharks are not always affectionate and do show an aggressive side sometimes. For example the 47 year old German lady who was taken without a trace recently…..tiger shark diving in Bahamas

One thing i cant wrap my head around, is why or even how did shark fin soup come about. Apparently, shark fin doesn't have much taste, you have to cook it a certain way and in order to say you're eating shark fin soup, is if you have all the other ingredients to make the soup taste good. But why add the shark fin if there isn't much taste?
To me, you could throw a bicycle tire into a soup, sell it for $30 a bowl and that would make it compatible to shark fin soup.
Absolutely pointless right?
Stop killing for supid needless reason, there are tastier meats out there, or even better yet, you can probably make a darn good soy bean or tofu soup with a seafood oil to it and call it shark fin soup.
