I saw a video of George Lucas when he remade the first three StarWars movies. Even he said that he had to make up new technology. This man had a vision and it made millions. At the time he made the first movie, there was no Industrial Light and Magic. Which he created that special effect company also. Also it was his special effects company that did the same for the first three Transformers movies. George Lucas had very good story lines. It was not about just one gender. Women's rights have been secured by law for more than 50 years all over the West, so feminism is already a deeply regressive and outdated ideology. Of course, if you're determined to keep it alive by inventing words like 'mansplaining' and 'manspreading', to keep the money flow going from men's 70% of the income taxes, while simultaneously insisting there's a wage gap that isn't based on women's own professional choices, you will continue to have to deal with these knuckledragging, manhating bigots. It certainly doesn't help any, when you let women from backwards, 14th century religions make the case for you, as if women's conditions in the West are comparable to those of women from muslim nations in any way. Which is exactly what is happening here.
“Just write a good story”. Amen!! That’s all most of us want. Just the other day, on one Thor’s videos from a couple of weeks ago I was accused of being a sexist conservative for simply suggesting that most SW fans care more about well written characters than which intersectional boxes they check.

Marcia. Lucas. . She shaped Star Wars literally. In the editing suite. In 1977. AD. We would not have had Star Wars without her editing A New Hope. Without the breakneck editing, it would have been a cheesy Flash Gordon reboot.
Naboo and Thor are on point as always. Unsurprisingly. Seriously though. These people are either high as a kite or just beyond delusional. I think we truly are regressing as a society and species.
Dear Sharmeen, I’ve watched your speech about you enjoying making men uncomfortable. You’ve said men need to look in the mirror , not see what they like and that we need to change. I am truthfully sorry you have had so many bad experiences in life with that. I have a military background first as a dependent and then as a member myself. Being in impoverished places as well as much more fortunate locations has made my experiences lead me to seeing people from all walks of life. Good, bad. Hurt and joyful , lost and focused . What I noticed mostly was HOPE. A universal theme that George Lucas had a one of the centerpieces of episodes 1-6. I bonded with friends and family as a kid during the OT . Even bonded with some of those people from other countries over the PT. It’s quit a feeing not being able to speak the same language yet somehow be able to speak Star Wars. My point being you’ve had some rough experiences. And this clearly has lead to bitterness in you. Which is understandable. But i also believe that with your agenda that the HOPE theme will be replaced with lessons you want men (I noticed there was no mention of women needing anything to work on) to learn. So I mean nothing to you that I understand but go nuts, do YOUR thing but some of us will be tuning out. And enjoying the universal themes that the resonated with millions across the globe since the 70s, because that is something you show such little respect for. -John
sorry to hijack your comment but what you said about hope is so true, and i feel like the people who work at lucasfilm rn clearly don't get it and it shows, outside of tony gillroy and whoever else worked on rogue one i guess. like in my opinion the greatest way to spread any message is by giving people characters to look up to, heroes like luke skywalker for example, where both men and women had a lot to learn from his character and journey, and thats what lucasfilm clearly will never get about star wars. dividing a fanbase of a series about bringing together people from all across the galaxy with hope for a better future is a crazy fumble
We have a superb actor who is just as passionate about Boba Fett as Tem. His name is Daniel Logan and putting them together again, with Daniel in the suit and performing his own unique version of the character and Tem's influence to create a new and exciting window into the Maori culture that influences Tem and the Mandalorian culture that influenced Boba. I'm telling you, that would absolutely explode.
Book of Boba Fett can just be an anthology show about his life. No reason all or much of season 2 couldn't be a younger Boba played by Daniel Logan in his heyday
If part of what you mean is that it'd be a good thing for Maori culture to be portrayed via Boba Fett, that's a hard pass for me. I want something original. I'm already sick of how much Japanese culture is referenced in _Star Wars_ and think it's become lazy. I understand that certain Japanese influences guided George Lucas in his creation of _Star Wars_ but think that they were done more subtly and shouldn't be continued as if it's some tradition that must be revered and continued.
I always get the impression from these people (Sharmeen) is that they're just parroting what their employer is imparting upon them. They're Kathy's words, and make no mistake that the Rey movie is one of her vanity projects, and will make sure that the movie gets made and gets made her way. Which seems a bit rebellious considering Bob Iger came out and said that he wanted less gender and identity politics in their movies very recently. There really needs to be a culling at Lucasfilm, starting at the very top. They're making a mockery of Star Wars.
Probably not in this instance, check the directors wiki; she's an activist Why KK thought she'd direct a good SW movie I have no idea, her filmography doesn't scream fantasy/sci-fi.
"we're in 2024 now. It's about time a woman come forward to shape a story in a galaxy far far away". Both woman and men have been shaping Star Wars since 1977. Example #1: Marcia Lucas (George's wife) is one of the main people all fans should thank for the sheer existence of Star Wars as we now know and love. From setting up some of the movie’s most iconic scenes to direct interference in story arcs, Marcia Lucas has done it all - and the Star Wars universe is better because of it.
Which is why it needs Nelson Peltz a big shareholder to come in and take over at the top and basically oust Bob Iger. It's the only chance there is now of completely saving Disney from sinking and turning things around with Starwars. You can guarantee if Peltz and Pearlmutter got seats on the Board they would put a stop to ALL this Woke Hivemind virus infecting all of Disney now.
I'm glad you guys talked about this basically being Naboo's channel. I know there is already a Sailor Naboo channel, but what if this one could rebranded as "Naboo and Thor" or something? That way Naboo can get top billing since she is a woman shaping the story of this Star Wars channel 😎
I think sharmeen said what she was told to say. Which tells me the higher ups have no faith in her and are preparing to blame failure on ists and phobs.
9:47 1313 perhaps? For anyone that dosnt know/has forgotten 1313 was a game that was in the works just before Disney took over the Star Wars IP it was going to follow a Bounty Hunter in the lower levels of Coruscant one thousand and thirteen levels down from the surface basically in a place that hasn’t seen the sun in thousands of years, that guards don’t bother with as it’s to low down for it to be worth their time, and there were rumours that it was going to be a younger Boba Fett, so set before a New Hope but sadly it got scrapped so we never saw how it would turn out.
Uhh, you can't get offended if you don't actually know what she meant. Let me play potential Devil's advocate. Isn't it entirely possible that this could be deemed the pinnacle of direction? And she's going to be the first woman to direct a feature-length film for the largest franchise in the world? Let her flex. Maybe it IS about time a woman directed a Star Wars movie. Truthfully, only time will tell how her claim ages. I have faith in the brand.
The director of the John Wick franchise helming a Star Wars movie, I think, would be a great idea. It would definitely raise the stakes for the characters and make us feel like they're actually in danger.
I would prefer someone like Chad Stahelski get a chance to direct a Star Wars film and potentially fail, rather than Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Stahelski has the experience and pedigree in directing these types of movies. On the other hand, Obaid-Chinoy's experience and accolades are primarily in documentaries. While I believe she could make an interesting Star Wars documentary, I don't have confidence that she can create a Star Wars film in the style of George Lucas.
Oh look, another reason to not watch the continuation of Kathleen Kennedy's shitty fan fiction: A director who has paid zero attention to star wars for the last 10 years, but still feels like it's the perfect vessel to push her own views. Sound familiar? Hmmmmm
Lets see how the movie is going to do in numbers terms (money) because i think this time after all this time and how disney is doing and going the people is going to vote with their walets
Honestly, I'm happy you guys didn't see her saying that she likes to make men feel uncomfortable. 😬 Thanks, guys! 😊 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Chinois’ comments are also an insult to the many other women who write books and comics who have been “shaping Star Wars” long before Disney even owned it and have under their banner as well! E.K. Johnston Claudia Gray Kathy Tyer Karen Traviss Justina Ireland Kirsten White Christie Golden Rae Carson Beth Revis Sarah Kuhn Delilah Dawson ….just to name a few! But perhaps Chinois peruses the same libraries as KK, the ones with no 800 page novels to base Disney Star Wars on. 🤷🏼♀️
I’m done. I’ve had enough. I stopped watching the MCU last year and now I’m going to do the same with anything else Disney claims to be Star Wars. They are never going to change. I have George’s six movies, The Clone Wars and plenty of books from the EU era to keep me happy. Plus fans are making some great movies to enjoy on UA-cam.
So, Sarmeen, what are your favorite Star Wars space ships and why? And what are your cool design plans for the ships for the new era your movies is going to be in and why?
Ty Thor for the trek bit. So many trek fans only see the politics of trek and resort to tribalism i can't even begin to comprehend how this is a thing. It's the reverse of Gene's vision
To let the Mandowerse into a new future, was something Favreau actually hinted on in early interviews, Jon had a plan to work his way around the sequels. But now Kathleen and Dave has hijacked it so we will never see it
Speaking of fight club, a quote from that movie seems fitting for that over ambitious director " I'm wondering if another woman is really the answer we need."
The real issue here I think is that they're missing out on *why* people go to see a movie like Star Wars. And I don't think anyone's list of "reasons to see the new Star Wars movie" has "being made to feel uncomfortable" on it.
Trying to actively fight a fanbase is just a losing strategy, like I get taking risks and doing things contrary to fan opinion, but just going out of your way to change things for only spite and not art should be obviously wrong.
Imagine being respectful enough of what came before you to be hesitant to jump into an IP project and just do your own thing. Chinoy and Headland and Johnson could learn a lot from this attitude.
Oof, they're really setting up this Rey movie to flop. The comments by the director probably just alienated half the potential audience. I'm pretty left-leaning and woke, and still these comments made me cringe. This past year saw the MCU completely implode, and Disney seems intent on doing the same thing to Star Wars. Focus on telling compelling stories, don't start production until the script is solid, and pay attention to what the audience is asking for. It's not rocket science.
Chad Stahelski openly wants to do Star Wars and wants to approach it with respect. That's why he'll never get the job. And neither will The Ninth Jedi Director Kenji Kamiyama and Godzilla Minus One director Takashi Yamazaki. Heaven forbid Disney-LFL actually hired someone competent and willing! I really want the Rey movie to get released now. Just to see it flop so bad even The Marvels or Indy 5 look OK-ish... 🤣 Not that it will manage to deflate any Hollywood ego or anything, but it might at least wound some people's misplaced pride.
Naboo, she doesn’t care how other women feel because it’s all about HER. This stuff is almost always a way of propping up yourself while at the same time feeling morally righteous.
It’s like everyone is giving their thank you speeches instead of excitement speeches. Before the movie is even started you should be saying “I’m so excited to be working in this amazing franchise”. THEN if you actually succeed in your project you can talk about any firsts you may have done. And also I agree she’s throwing shade on every other female that has moved Star Wars along with her words. Love this channel. I sorta hate Starwars right now so thanks for the only new Star Wars content I’m enjoying at the moment.
So people should be calling her our for this! Why isn't Naboo and other Starwars UA-camrs reporting on this very news taking to twitter and calling out Sharmeen Obaid-Chinnoy on how wrong she is, they should ALL be all over her X tweets right now replying to that comment she made. This is what gets me annoyed because by next week everyone will have all forgotten about what Sharmeen even said, they'll move onto the next story.
It's crazy how many directors who have made movies that have been recieved incredibly well are practically begging to work on Star Wars yet we get "the first woman to ever exist in history" apparently
Along with Jyn Urso and and Ahsoka, there’s also Mara Jade Skywalker and Jaina Solo “The Sword of The Jedi”. Shame LucasFilm seems to have dismissed them out of hand as well. To quote MCU Tony Stark, there’s no decision-making process here. The sequel continuity needs to be retconned.
I said it on Thor's channel yesterday and I'll say it again: if this lady said that comment, she clearly just doesnt have a clue of what Star Wars has been about in the past decade. We've had a very generous share of amazing female input and characters since Disney took over, and it wasnt that much just a boys thing even in Lucas' time. Leia was there, Padmé, Mon freaking Mothma was the Rebel Leader...
I'm still on the train that these movies will connect some how even though their entirely different eras. Where you have Dwn of the Jedi directly tying something together through the ancient jedi text that Rey will discover. But also whatever the Mandoverse movie does will shape how the future of what Star Wars will be like we just don't realize it yet. Maybe the Grysk will finally make their grand plans known and its not until Rey era that we find out exactly what that is. I think a lot of people forget the sequels take place in essential one year of the Star Wars universe everything before that is Mandoverse era. What's after that is not necessarily going to be sequel era stuff but perhaps a hybrid of mando and sequel era that will lead to a new era all together. Well i guess we actually kind of already know it its the new Jedi order era. My hope is Rey is more a Han Solo type character from Force Awakens in the movie. A big character but not the actual main character. Time will tell what they will do will be interesting to see.
Story. That's all we literally care about. Give us a good story and we'll support you to the end. Crow about firsts or how it's about X or Y and we give up, because we're all exhausted by hyperpolarity.
Star Wars was created by a man that loved his characters and story. That’s why it was so good. There is no reason to attach personal political views or agendas.
I feel like her 'I like making men uncomfortable' statement makes a lot of sense in regards to a documentary about the living conditions of women in places where they're oppressed. The point of documentaries like that is to make you uncomfortable, so that you might want to change things. But that doesn't make her the right person to direct a Star Wars movie.
The biggest reason why the Sequel Trilogy and ideas around those characters are still a thing is due to one word…EGO. As long as you have Kathleen Kennedy and other high positioned members in Disney that supported those ideas, you will not see them abandon it and admit that they are wrong. This is a ginormous company and in big companies like this, having your choices be the ones the company follows is everything. Big companies have no problem making changes ASAP once certain people leave/are fired. As head of LF Kathy will NEVER abandon the sequels simply because it shows weakness
That’s because if a movie is directed by a woman Media let’s you know and won’t let you forget it. “Brave! Current year! Brave! Never been done! Brave! Shattering the glass ceiling! And did we mention Brave!” So it is hard to reach a scenario where you watch something someone can say “did you know that what directed by a woman” and someone not already know
The ridiculous, if not more so insulting thing about this is that I hear them bandying about the title “New Jedi Order” for this project way too much! I swear…if they do indeed end up going with that one, thereby officially lifting, by proxy, the fundamental plot element (and title) of Luke’s original extended arc, and forcefully transplanting it onto Rey, then it’s BEYOND over for the franchise with the fans! People will be genuinely fuming, I have no doubt!.😡🤨
Ahsoka season 2 is supposedly going to reset the timeline. That’s why it’s on hold. Jon and Dave have to wait for KK to exit LFL fully. That way they don’t have any interference.
Come to think of it: A LOT of Star Wars Fans would love to see Peter Jackson direct a Star Wars project. I believe, around 2013/14, Jackson had thrown his hat in to the pot of possible creative collaborators with Lucasfilm Ltd.; to Kennedy & Co.'s disinterest and dismay, since Jane Campion didn't do the same. Meanwhile, if any female director should be given a theatrical Star Wars release, it should be, Bryce Dallas Howard. Then again, Howard was picked by (Showrunner) Jon Favreau to be a creative contributor to The Mandoverse, from The Mandalorian to The Book Of Boba Fett to Skeleton Crew; so, that probably turned off Kennedy and her ilk, since it was a heterosexual, middle-aged White Man, who gave Howard the opportunity. Notice how the director of John Wick, Chad Stahelski, said, "Call me in a couple of years..."; which could be taken to mean, "...after Kathy Kennedy is no longer running Lucasfilm Ltd."?
Depends on if they're planning to remove Kennedy 😂 Also Jane Campion was supposed to do Star Wars? Notice how Jon Favreau beat Kennedy to the punch with female directors, she must be furious her fake feminism was so slow it had to be a man to finally bring women into directing Star Wars.
@@АлексейМомот-щ7о No, Kennedy publicly stated, around 2014, that she was "courting" Jane Campion and other well-respected female directors to work on Star Wars. The problem was: Many of those women were disinterested in doing so; while 20 male directors had expressed intense interest in working within George Lucas' universe. "Curses!", must've been Kennedy's word at the time. ☺
6:52 thats me, I am one of those fans who really doesnt like them, i HATE the sequels and ive always made it known. I hate the way Luke was handled in TLJ, its never sat well with me WHY he would walk into that hutt in the first place, knowing beforehand about Snoke and that he was out there in ths galaxy, even just going into his self-imposed exile, basically leaving his sister at risk of Snoke. I just hate the sequels movies, the backlash Rian caused, the none-existent Lore and "World Building" they are simply devoid of. So yeh, i really am praying for this Rey movie to FAIL HARD! Perhaps that sounds very negative but i just cannot see how or even where you could possibly take the character of Rey coming off of TROS. She defeated the big bad Emperor all on her own. She has taken the name of "Skywalker" without ever earning it, Rey closes her eyes and actually DOWNLOADS like ALL of Kylo's knowledge and training through the force; i mean this is all REAL CANON from TFA novel. So i find it very hard to even buy into the idea Rey is a fully fledged *Jedi* by the end of TROS. Now they're going to make her a "Jedi Master" after 15yrs!? So i take it all she has done in that time has basically been to teach herself from those ancient Jedi texts, so again, this all just plays toward the whole idea that Rey can just teach herself anything. But if she has "Broom Boy" as her student among a dozen all part of HER "New Jedi Order", why cant any of those students teach themselves from those books!? Why not jusr hand out some "Do it yourself" make yourself a Jedi reprints of the Jedi texts from Ach-To?? Oh yeh, thats right because Rey is the Bestest ever!! She is a Dyad in the force meaning ONLY SHE has thay specifcal connection where she can tap into the force naturallly, and everything just comes to her, and it all flows through her. Its just such bs and these are the very questions and issues i have with all this. I want this Rey movie to FAIL because HOW can it even be good!? Its still in the same crappy timeline and canon as the horrible Sequels. No SKYWALKERS left alive, the legacy characters ALL died alone, seperate from eachother, never got a reunion and were never even allowed to have anykind of positive relevance to this new generation of characters; thats what erks me most! Also why cant we have Finn return also? His whole backstory was way more interesting than Rey's and he was likeable and felt more of a underdog. But NOOOOO cant have Finn return in Rey's spin-off movie because he would distract away from her and shes all perfect, remember Rey is ALL THE JEDI, its all got to be about her. Whatever story they end up telling still not going to "Fix" the sequels, still doesnt change the fact the New Republic was stupidly wiped out in one fell swooop and we had Empire 2.5 all over again. Still doesnt change that Amakin's whole Chosen One was undone and everythung he did, along with Han/Luke/Leia. I just really want to move on from the sequels they're messy, inconsistent and too much of a reminder to me of the whole Division that Rian's TLJ movie created. The sequels to me are really like a bad ex-gf that we parted on very bad terms, who treated me mike sh*t, that i invested so much in, in the early years and who i now just want to totally forget about, and dont ever want to see again. The entire Sequels Canon is one i dont believe you can even fix at all. There's too many inconsistencies. One last thing i dont think some fans truly realize is if the Rey spin-off does well, Kathkeen Kennedy will stay on at Lucasfilm for a good 10 more years!! And she infects EVERYTHING she touches, just look whay she did to Jon's Mandoverse? That was doing excellent during the first 2 seasons when she wasnt around to interfere.
Hey Thor and Naboo, great vid as always. Thor, I’ve recently read the outbound flight book (it might be my new favorite book of all time) and I think it made really good points towards how the Jedi of the prequel era had become complacent. I was wondering your thoughts on it, have you read it and do you agree?
Interestingly enough, it's been on my "reread list" for awhile now because I haven't read it since it first came out. That said, it was a great book and I'd love to talk about it in a future video, especially if I can get Naboo to read it for the first time along with me.
Hey Thor, have you ever considered the idea that when they make statements like this they do so just for the attention that it will always get? There's a consistent pattern: Someone related to a Disney production says something inflammatory, youtubers react and we are left to question how they can be so tone deaf. If this happened once, it could be attributed to a variety of different factors (taken out of context or genuine beliefs or whatever) but since it keeps happening we're left to believe that they have absolutely no clue as to what their fanbase wants or they are doing this to stir up discussion about a project months (years) before it actually debuts. Disney can't be that stupid and out of touch with the fan base, can they?
As a woman who grew up on the original trilogy, this whole thing is embarrassing and frustrating. I don't want a woman like this directing Star Wars. Star Wars is about adventure and being swept up in that magic of a great adventure. It's not a platform for this woman's self-centred female-chauvinistic propaganda.
Chad Stahelski: "In a couple of years"... Translation: Yeah, after KK is gone and Disney isn't activist lead anymore I'll take a swing at a SW movie. Good on him.
I honestly find it embarrassing that there are still people willingly antagonising the other gender completely and thinking it's okay to say. Men and women alike worked to make this franchise into what it is and by trying to put one side or another down, it feels like we move backwards in doing so.

Yup.
Reverse the genders and see how gross it sounds. Same thing both ways, but apparently it's okay to say it one way 🤔
@@BlobThoughtsMTG Exactly great point!
Yep me too since I'm a man I'll be spending my money on something else.
Excellent job of alienating half your potential audience.
Why do I feel like Naboo was doing her Godzilla roar for about five minutes straight when she initially heard about the Sharmeen thing?
"NABOOLLA!"
Dear Sharmeen,

KK really jumped the blaster making those Force is Female shirts...

And enjoying the universal themes that the resonated with millions across the globe since the 70s, because that is something you show such little respect for.

sorry to hijack your comment but what you said about hope is so true, and i feel like the people who work at lucasfilm rn clearly don't get it and it shows, outside of tony gillroy and whoever else worked on rogue one i guess. like in my opinion the greatest way to spread any message is by giving people characters to look up to, heroes like luke skywalker for example, where both men and women had a lot to learn from his character and journey, and thats what lucasfilm clearly will never get about star wars. dividing a fanbase of a series about bringing together people from all across the galaxy with hope for a better future is a crazy fumble
@@StraightOtohGunga Yeah, I was hoping since the series was announced that it'd be more of an anthology (so much potential!) than how it was done.
I can't wait to see Sharmeen in South Park. She looks like a South Park caricature already.
Probably not in this instance, check the directors wiki; she's an activist
Why KK thought she'd direct a good SW movie I have no idea, her filmography doesn't scream fantasy/sci-fi.
bingo
It’s like they want this movie to fail… things like this are kryptonite for a 80% of the fan base
She is not even the First Woman of Color to shape Star Wars... Deborah Chow is Asian-Canadian and directed a series and multiple eps of Mandalorian.
No, she didn't think how other women would feel.
It's all about her.
Maria Lucas: *cough cough*
Naboo, I really couldn't agree with you more.
Also I don’t think Disney cares about making money. Eventually they’ll have to but the whole company seems rotten right now. It’s weird.
The Lucasfilm Story team are majority women for nearly a decade... a point of pride for Kathleen Kennedy
I'm glad you guys talked about this basically being Naboo's channel. I know there is already a Sailor Naboo channel, but what if this one could rebranded as "Naboo and Thor" or something? That way Naboo can get top billing since she is a woman shaping the story of this Star Wars channel 😎
Don’t try to ruin my life with lies when yours can be ruined with the truth. -Jina Carano
Sailor saying, "I see us as equals" even though she's the boss.
Me, "Aww, how adorable." (Keep in mind, I'm being facetious you two, miss y'all!)
Agree, seems a peculiar choice of director.
The Rey movie is going to bomb hard. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if they cancel that movie once they see how bad Acolyte bombs.
Thor’s wife spitting facts throughout this vid. All so well said.
She enjoys making men uncomfortable. She openly says this imagine this reversed
Honestly, I'm happy you guys didn't see her saying that she likes to make men feel uncomfortable. 😬
Thanks, guys! 😊
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Chinois’ comments are also an insult to the many other women who write books and comics who have been “shaping Star Wars” long before Disney even owned it and have under their banner as well!
E.K. Johnston
Claudia Gray
Kathy Tyer
Karen Traviss
Justina Ireland
Kirsten White
Christie Golden
Rae Carson
Beth Revis
Sarah Kuhn
Delilah Dawson
….just to name a few!
But perhaps Chinois peruses the same libraries as KK, the ones with no 800 page novels to base Disney Star Wars on. 🤷🏼♀️
Rian Johnston holding up another card: "DO YOU MISS ME YET"
Tony Gilroy head writer and the John wick director directing the movie, oh man that would be killer!
I’m done. I’ve had enough. I stopped watching the MCU last year and now I’m going to do the same with anything else Disney claims to be Star Wars. They are never going to change. I have George’s six movies, The Clone Wars and plenty of books from the EU era to keep me happy. Plus fans are making some great movies to enjoy on UA-cam.
the guy who did john wick should do a orginal dash render movie
So, Sarmeen, what are your favorite Star Wars space ships and why? And what are your cool design plans for the ships for the new era your movies is going to be in and why?
Ty Thor for the trek bit. So many trek fans only see the politics of trek and resort to tribalism i can't even begin to comprehend how this is a thing. It's the reverse of Gene's vision
Daniel Logan as a young Boba Fett in a John Wick violence style, let's do it!
I’m giving you an award! Here ya go!
I was waiting for Naboo’s input on this.
To let the Mandowerse into a new future, was something Favreau actually hinted on in early interviews, Jon had a plan to work his way around the sequels. But now Kathleen and Dave has hijacked it so we will never see it
I'd love to see Chad do a John Wick take on Mara Jade early days or some other iteration of the Hand. That would be baller!
Speaking of fight club, a quote from that movie seems fitting for that over ambitious director
" I'm wondering if another woman is really the answer we need."
Came before = patriarchy. Ergo, automatically wrong 😂
...Did she just insult Kathleen lol
Oof, they're really setting up this Rey movie to flop. The comments by the director probably just alienated half the potential audience. I'm pretty left-leaning and woke, and still these comments made me cringe. This past year saw the MCU completely implode, and Disney seems intent on doing the same thing to Star Wars. Focus on telling compelling stories, don't start production until the script is solid, and pay attention to what the audience is asking for. It's not rocket science.
The love of identity politics is all about "the greater good."
“The greater good” = benefiting my own career
Chad Stahelski openly wants to do Star Wars and wants to approach it with respect. That's why he'll never get the job. And neither will The Ninth Jedi Director Kenji Kamiyama and Godzilla Minus One director Takashi Yamazaki.
Heaven forbid Disney-LFL actually hired someone competent and willing!
I really want the Rey movie to get released now. Just to see it flop so bad even The Marvels or Indy 5 look OK-ish... 🤣
Not that it will manage to deflate any Hollywood ego or anything, but it might at least wound some people's misplaced pride.
Naboo, she doesn’t care how other women feel because it’s all about HER. This stuff is almost always a way of propping up yourself while at the same time feeling morally righteous.
I just want to see a good movie. I really don't care who directs or helms the project. Just give us, the people a good, great movie.
Hey Thor! Don't forget the most important woman in Star Wars "Marcia Lucas"!!!
Re: Naboo’s comments on Trek, to be fair we had to go through world war 3 to get to that point, so arguably we are right on track 🤣😭
Also, I think the director that needs to be tapped for SW is James Wan
Translation: ME. It's all about ME. This is a memo to BOB. Greenlight my pitch already. MINE. The one with ME.
Couldn't agree more. Let's step out of the mire and clean off our boots.
It's crazy how many directors who have made movies that have been recieved incredibly well are practically begging to work on Star Wars yet we get "the first woman to ever exist in history" apparently
"Tribes" don't matter, ultimately. Values do.
Kathys new pet. What happened to that Rogue Squadron movie?
If John Wick guy wants to do Star Wars... work with Donnie Yen again! Let's get that Chirrut Imwe movie!
Absolutely on point.
Star Wars was created by a man that loved his characters and story. That’s why it was so good. There is no reason to attach personal political views or agendas.
Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy must get her information from the same source as Jennifer Lawrence.
And did we mention Brave!”
So it is hard to reach a scenario where you watch something someone can say “did you know that what directed by a woman” and someone not already know
I really appreciate Naboo's complete lack of diplomatic tact when she's talking about what's happening to Star Wars & LucasFilm.
That Boba movie with Chad directing I would love to see
I mean guys...Karen Travis in the EU was huge for the EU... Claudia gray? Christine goldine? Anyone? Bueller?
I like your style.
Give me MA Boba Fett. I would like to see Daniel Logan in the suit or in the series somewhere.
Is it possible to now have a less than 0% chance of going to see this movie?
Naboo is based! Thanks for speaking up! 👏👏👏
Acolyte is also made by a woman
Chad Stahelski: "In a couple of years"... Translation: Yeah, after KK is gone and Disney isn't activist lead anymore I'll take a swing at a SW movie. Good on him.
One rule to rule them all
3:31 Finally someone said it 💰
*Mind Tricks don't work on me only Money*
9:00 oh my god, you jusr desribed what "The Book of Boba Fett" as it should be.
what she meant is the force hates men
