In the Physicians’ Health Study, which followed 21,660 men for 28 years, those consuming 2.5 servings of dairy daily had a 34% higher risk of developing prostate cancer, compared with men consuming half a serving or less. Whole milk intake was associated with risk of progression to fatal disease after diagnosis.

The Adventist Health Study-2 followed 52,795 pre- and postmenopausal women for an average of 7.9 years and found that higher intakes of cow’s milk were associated with a 50% increased risk for breast cancer. Full-fat and reduced-fat milks produced similar results.

i used to drink milk when i was little with no problem, then i didnt for very long time like 10-15 years, stayed away from it due to bloating and gas from just 1 glass, did very small incremets drinking like quarter a glass a day for 2 weeks with minor disconfort and slowly went up to like 2-3 glasses a day now with no issues, no idea if you can do it much faster, but i think most people are probably not lactose intolerant at all, they simply dont know it takes a long time for the body to adapt, its more like you cant deadlift 50kg (1glass of milk) before you build yourself up to it, and that takes time and consistency :)

In my early 20s I was terribly "lactose intolerant". I couldn't eat anything with dairy in it without lactaid pills (or so I thought) and I thought since I was African American, that this was an inevitability. In my late 20s, I started slowly reintroducing milk into my diet and I found that I could tolerate it in small amounts. This effect increased until now in my mid-30s where I can drink as much milk as I want all at once (I can drink liters at a time with minimal issues).
I think that most people who claim they are lactose intolerant have simply stopped consuming dairy regularly or may be dealing with some mild form of SIBO, or something along those lines.

I don't want to go all Paleo, but the fact that certain human populations acquired the capacity to process lactose as adults, does suggest, at the very minimum, that consuming diary isn't extremely detrimental to those populations. That doesn't prove that it is the ideal foodstuff to consume, because it may not be optimum for longevity, but it does suggest that dairy isn't poison if the adaption to consume it into adulthood was so beneficial to the ancestors of Europeans that virtually every person of European descent has it.

I eat full fat cheeses, I live in Spain so we have all shorts of varieties, mostly from not treated milk so they have all the nutrients and bacteria. Also, now you can get whole untreated milk, if you haven’t tried it and have access, do it, and you will see what milk is all about (from a safe source). Hello. I can't site the studies but the whole debate on whether or not saturated fat causes arterial buildup seems to boil down to a threshold effect of saturated fat. The studies show, on average, if one keeps the percentage of saturated fat below 6 to 7% daily maintenance calories ldl and total serum cholesterol stays down.
If one increases that above 10% LDL increases.
Look at the percentage of saturated fat in milk on the label.
I know a bunch of people are going to say, "cutting saturated fat doesn't eliminate heart disease, losing weight does, or, controlling insulin sensitivity, or exercise, or genetics, or this that and another thing.".
It's actually a combination of many things.

For those with lactose intolerance, taking a lactase enzyme supplement with the first bite usually works fine. I've been doing that for 25 years. It's been great...never had to give up dairy! Also, foods like cheese and yogurt can be less of an issue with some people because in the process of producing them some of the lactose disaccharides have been broken down. Thanks for posting! Can you make a video on the specifics of dairy, vitamin D, and bone density? I've heard Dr. Lustig say that you can't absorb calcium from milk because of the phosphorus. I've never heard of this and it seems far fetched. I haven't done the research but it definitely seems like dairy consumers in general have better bone density. I was hoping you could research this and his phosphorus claim and post about it. 😁

Studies don't dictate reality. They tend to show it, given enough correct data collection and processing - not every time. And for every generalized study and a given group, there will likely be outliers. So you might just be one.
Having said that, in the choice between study result and personal anecdote/story I take study every time, because the amount of absolutely convinced and convincing bull coming out of human individuals is just insane. Senses lie, and more often then not tend to confirm even absolutely absurd ideas. Look up "muscle growing music" or something like that, to give you an idea...

It's the saturated fat in milk that should be avoided if anything. I want a high protein diet but I'm working on lowering my LDL cholesterol. It's in the "normal" range, but I've read some compelling research that groups with under 70 LDL have almost no mortality from heart disease, which runs in my family. Therefore I'm going to try and remove as much saturated fat from my diet as possible, so I'll be switching to low fat milk and cheeses and replacing butter with canola or olive oil.

Men with higher intakes of dairy foods, especially milk, face a significantly higher risk of prostate cancer compared to men with lower intakes, according to a new study conducted by researchers at Loma Linda University Health. The study found no such associations between increased prostate cancer risk and intake of non-dairy calcium, suggesting substances other than calcium play a role in the risk dairy foods poses for prostate cancer.
“Our findings add important weight to other evidence associating dairy products, rather than non-dairy calcium, as a modifiable risk factor for prostate cancer,” said Gary Fraser, MBChB, PhD, the study's principal investigator and professor at Loma Linda University School of Medicine and School of Public Health.

But all I know is that when ever I add dairy into my diet in high amounts, acne goes up mucus does increase, and my asthma goes from being nonexistent to being VERY existent. A night and day difference really. But hey that's just me. I will say, just because a research paper doesn't indicate something, doesn't mean it doesn't exist or is not the case. Things don't just START existing once a research paper comes out. The same way I'll also say that evidence of certain realities exists FAR before research papers come out, as often times it's "anecdotal" evidence that motivates people to take a more scientific and strategic evaluation of things in the first place to increase the quality or authoritativeness of the evidence at hand. Thats about a half a cup not to mention the cheese you will probably eat from a fast food joint. All the saturated fat in cheese on burgers is more likely the cause of so much increased heart disease, not the meat. 2. In ancient times almost all adults used to be lactose intolerant. We only evolved with a little more lactides due to starvation forcing us to resort to milk as a supplement. 3. If you drink to much milk you will turn into a titty baby like this guy in the video.

That’s not unique to dairy though. Lots of foods appear to inhibit dairy absorption, like coffee and brown rice. Have a meal or two with plenty of iron-rich foods and some fruit (vitamin C boosts absorption of non-heme iron). Then if you want some oats or coffee you can have that later.
