Fantastic camera work, expecially in those conditions. Setting the shot, positioning the camera, taking the shot, retrieving the camera etc... Editing the videos as well as working your day job and looking after your family... To have such great and really enjoyable videos to watch after knowing what it takes and how much you go through to make them is definitely appreciated!
Thanks a mill, it's great to hear that the extra bit of camera work and all that is appreciated. I can't wait for the longer nights now, winter camps out in all weathers. Hopefully I can do them justice, thanks again I really appreciate it 🙌
Class to see you up this neck of the woods Jason, you got some crackin views above the clouds. Good call on taking your time mate, wouldn’t say you made any mistakes, you made choices and adapted accordingly. So what if you had to walk in the dark for a bit, you have all the gear, and it makes for great memories. Binnian had got to be one of the busiest spots in the Mournes, not surprising you had to collect so much rubbish!! Loved the shots of the tent at night, that camera really does shine in the low light. Give us a shout if you ever fancy coming back, I’ll bring the chocolate digestives 🍪
Binnian is an impressive mountain, going down the other side was an experience in itself 😄 It was a great camp and once I got the tent set up I was happy out. I have no idea when but I'll definitely be back up the Mournes. Everyone is mentioning the biscuits, I'm going to have to improve things in that department 😄
That was brilliant. I never see your routes as mistakes. Adventurous route lets say. You out on the trail and thats all that matters. Excellent video as always man. Still laughing at your "that wind would blow the diddy's off you" comment 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Cheers Martin, I should have went for a wander to prove that statement. I was too wrecked and in fear for my diddies. Wisely chose to stay put in the end
Windiest night I ever had in a tent and the only time I’ve camped in snow with lightning was in an Argos tiger paws one man tent and a Tesco sleeping bag , candle lantern and Trangia stove saved my bacon that night , when we look back on things we’ve done and survived it reminds us that we have lived , you’ll look back on this and chuckle.
😯 I'd say that as an interesting experience to say the least 😄 Fair play for getting through it and I only ordered a candle lantern the other day so I can't wait to use it 🔥
Love watching your stuff, your filming and lightning is top draw.. I know how difficult that is in those conditions... Nothing but admiration.. Awesome Jason
'shortcuts' always feel like a good idea at the time...until you're almost having a heart attack stuck on a cliff face 😅 that night sky looked amazing and another great little spot. Look forward to the next one. Cheers!
The Irish Tourist Bureau should be sponsoring you Jason...such beautiful photography of your beautiful country. These are postcard worthy shots you are capturing...and you have me thinking where you are is where I want to visit on my next holiday. Fierce winds and all. Best wishes dear friend always. Best way to spend my Sunday...Rambling On!
Cheers Joe, I don't think I'm suited to the tourist bureau but they can use my videos whenever they like. I have some really stunning places in mind so hopefully those camps will be in the next few weeks and there is endless places to still explore. Loads of plans so hopefully you can join me on those too. Take her handy man 🍀
Good man Jason, The Mournes are definitely my favourite mountain range. The views are stunning no matter where you are. Its just a pity they are a few hours drive away! Looking forward to the next one 😎👍
That is some beautiful scenery there Jason, even with all the cloud on the way up. I love how you always spend most of your videos laughing over things - it's a fantastic attitude to have. You always seem to enjoy yourself regardless of all the trials and tribulations and consequently, we enjoy your experiences as well. Thanks for taking us along with you
I often try to edit out the laughs because it gets a bit out of hand 😄 I'm delighted that you enjoyed it and cheers for joining me. I've got some sexy camp spots to head back to over the next few weeks so hopefully you'll enjoy them too
Just found your channel, thanks for cleaning up after the people who dont give a toss! Canny breezy up there fella and definitely more biscuits next time, you can never have enough of those 😂
Fab you got to experience the lovely Mournes Jason! The little Lanshan did so well 🏆 The views from the top of Binnian really are spectacular, such a great trip to see what the Mournes are all about. No doubt you’ll be back to walk some more fabulous routes. Looked a great night away and blew away any cobwebs no doubt! 😊
I reckon I'll need a multi day trip up to do the job right 😄 The little lanshan was the best tent I could have brought to be fair. I was definitely cobweb free by the end 😁
Once I had the tent sorted it was all worth it and those pouches are really handy to make, definitely give it a go. I used the Foil camping mats and duct tape
Absolutely stunning place mate. Glad the old Lanshan held up in the wind. What is the matter with folk, leaving little all over the place? I don't know what goes through there mind. Total scumbags.
Really enjoyed your video...thanks for showing us around the Mournes. I've been thinking about getting a Lanshan for the nicer weather, so it was good to see what they can put up with.
Great to see you up here in the mournes. It’s a challenging place and Binion is a proper hike up. Great vids. Keep them coming. Nice camp spot at the edge of Ben Crom reservoir.
I could not agree more, it was tough hiking. I was delighted to find that sliver of flat ground, next time I'm possibly be heading for Ben Crom so cheers for that 👍🍀
great to see you suffering on the way up 😅 It sure looked like a tough slog alright. I was out of breath just watching .. and fair play for the drive up, not looking forward to that part myself, whenever/if it happens.... 👍
You would have to make a weekend of it, it would be a serious spin for you. It was worth the climb to the top but I did my best to avoid as much hardship as possible the next day 😄
Great stuff Jason Ye need an award of some sort for “Tidy mountains “…. There really are some muppets out there ….. To go to the bother of sticking rubbish in cracks in the rocks …. The mind boggles
Brilliant seeing you up in the Mournes. Looked like you were mountain climbing than hiking. A lot of the Mourne wall has some really steep parts. I like the look of the fire maple. Cheaper version of the jetboil.
😄 I may as well have been climbing a cliff. The Mourne wall is spectacular, defies belief in some parts. I'm hoping to do a little video on that stove, I wanted to see what it's capable of because if it can do more than just boil water then it might be a nice stove for people starting out. The Jetboil zip from want I have heard is pretty much just an expensive kettle but I haven't tried it. Comparing the two would be interesting
I bought the Lanshan 1 Pro version of Flame's Creed on 11.11 for only €112. I have not yet sealed it or released it waiting for the new spring season in Spain, but I think it seems like one of the best purchases you can make if you are patient with the prices. Jason, I wish you a happy new year full of adventures.
Patience can save you a lot of money. I bought mine second hand, at first I wasn't sure about it but now I really do love that little tent. It's solid in the wind, lightweight, and it looks good too. I hope your new tent serves you well. Thanks a mill and the same to you, I hope 2024 is a good year for everyone 🍀
Great video Jason and terrific views from all angles. You do like to test yourself rather than take that purpose built new tent you have now 😂 Have a great week mate 👍😀
Loved the video Jason. Well done. Those steep ones can really take it out of you and put a lot of pressure on areas where the body may not be 100%, like my one, LOL. When the knees and back are not the best, you must take care of them as best as you can and slow down, take your time. It's not a race after all. You did a great job on this video. Well done again...
Cheers Alan, it made a massive difference taking those few minutes to have a rest. It's definitely good to listen to your body and take your time. I'll be taking it easy when the winter conditions roll in, I can't wait. Thanks a mill, much appreciated 🙌🍀
Brilliant video Jason! Just brilliant. So good to see you in the Mournes. So pleased that you enjoyed the experience. Youre right it is a beautiful set of mountains. Binnian is a decent climb on a good day but that route was tough lad. Its also a busy spot. Had the weather been better you may have had a crowd with you for breakfast. Please, please come back and do more. Would be great to get your take on some of the other trails and mountains.
I'm delighted I made it up that way. Such a stunning landscape and that little sliver of flat ground served me well for the night. I'll give myself plenty of time the next time I go, there is some serious hiking in the Mournes. I won't be taking it so lightly next time
Man that tent took some battering! 😱 I've been to the Mournes twice now and was lucky to have great weather both times. It's definitely worth going back but saying that you did get some great views at times 👌 I'm far from a Mournes expert but even to my eye you definitely seemed on a path less travelled 🤣
That is one great little tent for the wind, tiny foot print and extremely light. It has it's draw backs but I do love it. I took a path that even the sheep wouldn't take 😄 I'll be better prepared for the next one
My man, you're no eejit. Not by a long chalk. But for the love of the gods, take some *real* biscuits next time.... *sheesh* Thank you for the video mate, especially in such blustery conditions. I appreciate ya'... ✌️

I think that I mainly felt that I had really underestimated the hike, I thought I had given it plenty of time but evidently I didn't. @jasonpip5417 I'm always baffled when I see hikers/bikers with a few biscuits or one bar of chocolate. I typically pack enough to open a small confectioners.
Hello mate. Legend getting out there in those conditions. I like pushing the lightweight gear as well. Been catching up on your vids and noticed you have both the Lanshan pro 1 and Xmd. I have the LP1 but thinking of the xmid for more headroom, simplicity and less flapping. Had the LP1 out in all sorts so I know it holds up. What's your thoughts on both? Cheers and hope the backs feeling good after the other days venture out.
Hey Danny, for headroom and space inside the Xmid wins hands down. It's good in the wind, sil poly means that the fabric doesn't stretch when wet, which is fantastic and it doesn't weigh much more than the lanshan pro1. Saying that I did have the Xmid packed for this camp but decided last minute to bring the lanshan. If I can I'll do a video comparing them so that I can explain it better for you. Both are great tents but have their own pros and cons. My back is getting stronger everyday, just have to keep at it. Thanks for checking in🍀

Knowing my luck had I went out in that storm I'd be blown away with me inside the tent and all. :D
😂 I've heard of that happening on Ben Nevis before
Just found your channel, thanks for cleaning up after the people who dont give a toss! Canny breezy up there fella and definitely more biscuits next time, you can never have enough of those 😂
No worries, it would bother me if I didn't pick it up. Everyone is mentioning the biscuits 😄 I'll have to sort that out for the next one
Wow, loving it 👏 The best eejit on youtube! Nah with vids like this you've proven to be real pro with the whole thing, proper job mate.
Cheers Andrew. Hopefully I can keep getting out over the winter 🤞
@@RamblingOn So long as you're having more fun than us just watching :) I enjoy all your shares but this last one looked like a blast!
Impressed at how well the Lanshan stood up to that wind!
Its a great little tent in the wind to be fair

Absolutely stunning place mate. Glad the old Lanshan held up in the wind.
