Mathematics isnt of course exclusively Islamic. Indian and Greek culture were pre Islamic examples and more recently Europe etc But the Muslim ummah indeed added a lot to humanity's mathematical knowledge.

@@offlinegamer6756 We did not study Al-Sihah al-Sittah, uloom ul Quran, tafseer ul Quran, or usool ul fiqh, the 1400-year-old scholarly tradition. We're not academics. There is much disagreement on this specific topic between Ahle sunnah wa jamaat and the so-called Salafi thinkers of the 19th century.
Be open-minded and educated about Hujja from all angles.

You can compare the disrespect and neglect and misuse of females through the centuries long term studies of islamic civilization vs others. I'm a native Arabic speaker and today I learned that Majnun means possessed by Jinn. I just thought it meant crazy but now it makes sense! 🤯

Majnoun actually means the one whose mind is hidden because the association of jim and noun means hidden as such is jin and janna are called as such cuz they're hidden

As anative arabic speaker also.majnon does not refer to jin.it refer to arabic word jonnah which means covered and hidden .a crazy man has his brain covered.jin are covered from our sight.jannah in heaven is covered..jan al layl means night covered the day light.
I remember when I lived in Saudi Arabia, people used to call someone "majnoon" if they thought they'd gone crazy. They would ask, "Are you nuts?" with the phrase "inta majnoon?"
I find it interesting that the Chinese word for ghosts and demons, i.e. 妖精(yao jing) sounds like Jinn. Looks like the spirit world is quite universal since antiquity.
In the Islamic faith, you find a lot of information about the jinn, unlike other cultures and religions, in which the jinn made it easy for them to mislead people and they began to worship the jinn devils

As a Muslim let me tell you very clearly there are no charms or amulet in Islam and anybody who wears or give them to others become non believers and thus out of islam due to the fact that these amulets contain shirk(association of other entities with god) which is the only sin that takes you out of the islam, same is the case for those who practice magic and those who contact a magician. There is only one way to heal the person effected by magic which is to recite certain verses of the Holy Quran. A lot of things told in the video have no connection with islam whatsoever rather they are linked with arab culture.

Around my dad’s hometown in Indonesia, according to several elders, the river was ruled over by a “Raja Jinn” who seemed to be perfectly happy to leave the townsfolk alone as long as they respected the trees of the Raja Jinn, he would only attack if the humans disturbed/destroyed the trees, as there was a myth that whoever cut down the oldest coconut tree, was suddenly unable to walk. I speculate this jinn might’ve been some sort of form religious syncretism, as he felt like a pre-islamic entity converted into the lens of islam, being that animism was still fairly popular around the time of these elders, perhaps it was originally a folk spirit that remained present when the town converted or adopted a less “pagan” version of islam. I love your videos Filip, they’re incredibly informative and creatively inspiring, though i did feel this video was too arab centric, as Indonesia was wholly ignored despite being the most populous muslim country, although im aware our mythology is rather hard ro find good research on, and you seem mostly fascinated by the middle east which is fair.
im not indonesian but my dad lives in bali and theres a tree in the area he lives in that has a very similar story of someone becoming paralyzed after messing with a sacred tree
You know in my town lamongan there was a story from my friend who saw people try to take down a haunted tree for someone's home construction.
But everyone who tried to do it died, there was atleast 13 people who died because being possessed by djinn of that one tree, i dont know if it because of the djinn but many people here at that time still practice black magic, so i'm pretty sure it was because of djinn.
For some reason I had not realised the Jinn mythology reached all the way to Indonesia. Likely all across silk road routes and elsewhere, there are some similar folklore. I have heard similar stories from people from Morocco for example, particularly non-arab Berber/Amazigh.
My parents and grandparents used to tell fairytales of Jinn when I was a child. They stated that Jinn were neither good nor bad, even some had a sense of humour and like playing tricks. Though more of their stories seemed to relay the bad side of Jinn and so to be careful of them - even the good ones could be temperamental.
Another thing they said was that some of the places Jinns liked to reside were in woodlands, as you mention trees but also near water, like rivers and canals (though not seas or oceans). There is a route I walk sometimes which is partly beside a canal and in the evening it is not lit up, I even have to walk under a rail bridge. Even as an adult, I have in mind a vague thought Jinns are hanging about here.
@@2live4u95 one tip for your dad to live in bali, dont do anything funny near the tree that has a piece of loincloth wrapped on the trunk, that is a sign from the local which means the tree is sacred, and there is "someone" who lives there, guarding the tree from human's hand
@@abhigail oh yeah thats exactly what im talking about! he knows many of the leaders in the area he lives in and has been living there for many years, there used to be a jinn in the river near his house but i think it was exorcised bc i havent heard anything about it in like 10 years haha

I spent a lot of time in Aceh Sumatra around 23 years ago.
I saw 2 cases of "possession" first hand.
Both were extremely strange and the strength and pain resistance of both of them was incredible.
As someone that was sceptical I still look back and wonder.

Since they're part of my religion I was and still am fascinated by Jinn. So much that once, when I was about 12 or 13, during the Magreeb azan disobeyed my mum and went to the roof to insult Jinns (pls, any Jinn reading this, don't be offended I was a child) just to make them appear before me. Also except me, mum and my brother, almost everyone in my family claims that they saw Jinns. For example my dad claims seeing what he calls 'Jinns wedding'. He says him, his mum and everyone present that time (this happened around 80s) watched multiple balls of light in a V formation, the first one glowing red, flying across the afternoon sky. He said it was beautiful.
Then there's this famous one in my family about one of my uncle's. When he was a university student (also around 80s or 90s) he used to frequent this tea shop at 12 am after studying. So one night he and the shop owner encountered these two men. According to my uncle they were really tall, very beautiful, fair skinned, wearing gowns and he says that their feet were backwards. They bought sweets from the tea-shop owner and paid so that's that.
It's fun hearing stories like these but there are violent ones too. For example, these happened in villages and back when everything wasn't so developed in my country, when the country wasn't so over populated and so bright with electricity. Back then Jinn used to lure people mimicking their families voice, at midnight, from their homes and to a nearby pond or any watery body and tried to drown them. So yep. They're just like people, they can die, they have different religion too but they're fourth dimensional... I think I read that somewhere.
Oh my grandpa's grandpa had a Jinn friend. But then he stopped visiting my great great grandpa....thank you for reading so far.

Ok, where do you come from? In my village, people in the 1950s still have their own Jinns. They befriend those Jinns for many purposes.😅
It's not that you haven't seen the jinn, it's that you didn't know it was a jinn. One of the classifications of jinn is the جنّ العامر
So they've been hanging around in the local neighborhood for centuries

Up until a few centuries ago, Jinn were very much known in the western world as well. They were known by the term "Genius", which has of course a different meaning nowadays, but it orignally comes from the idea that extraordinary ideas and abilities come from being possesed by ethereal beings.

I have met an Egyptian man who believed he was possessed, and who would regularly visit a sufi gathering to 'let the jinn out' every week. This seems to have been enough for him to live a perfectly normal life - he didn't speak English but as his friend explained, when he was an infant, his mother went to work in the fields and took him with her, and one time it went late, he was left lying in direct moonlight and so a jinn entered. Now, the jinn is peaceful as long as it is 'let out to play' every so often. This didn't also seem to affect his standing socially. He invited us to a sufi gathering in the outskirts of Cairo, but perhaps the jinn was shy, as he didn't that time go to trance.

There are also a unique form of ruqya outside of Middle East, from countries like Indonesia & Malaysia. Of course there are similar aspects like Quran recitation. What makes Islam exorcism differs than others is how any muslims can perform it & there is even a form of self ruqya. Which is very different in comparison to other religions like Christianity or Buddhism etc as you are most likely need supposed "priest" to do exorcism.
Also, it seems you also kinda missed a big point that each human have their own form of "djinn" in which called "qarin."
Qarin does not possess and only whispers and has no effect on your daily living. It’s what the west calls intrusive thoughts. Some cultures like Indonesians and Malaysians are heavily involved in jinn and the unseen world from before Islam came to them and till this day even their ruqya has bits of old culture practices

Great video. Surah al Nas mentions " I seek refuge in the Lord of men, the king of men, the God of men, from the evil whispering of the slinking (devil) , who whispers into the hearts of men , from among jinn and men alike" ... It implies that jinn can potentially be heard ( maybe as a whisper).
The "whisper" refers to the "voices" in your head that cause you to go astray, or cause you to lack discipline in following the path of Islam
And thoughts. Some of our thoughts are not our own. That's why we always pray for wisdom and guidance.
The whisper into the chests of men, meaning it doesn’t enter the heart directly. It’s introduced to us as a “thought” and we feed it from there. Whether we let it enter our heart or not is us, we can’t blame the whispers causing action.

I am a victim of Jinn possession and I have been facing it since I was very young. They literally have been giving me false memories but I have been ignoring them lately and I must say I feel much better than before (My condition had got very bad last year).

Focus on your Islam, i have heard of a few instances where the victims themselves became a good influence and Jin themselves. Support of Family and good company helps a lot.
Easier said than done, but in the end no matter how strong human or Jin is, Allah is Almighty. And we all do get tested in our own way.
No you're not akhi Ibn Hazm was right the Quran is clear when Allah SWT brings people to judgment they say "It was Shaytan who forced me to do it" and Shaytan will free himself from them, and say he had no power over you, then Allah will punish them both. Maybe you had a mental or spiritual infirmity when you were young. WHy would ALlah SWT let a jinn possess someone and make him do evil which he'll be judged for.. It's against Quran.

As a Muslim and a Moroccan. I feel the need to give more precise information about Aysha Qandisha. Information which honestly I felt let down that you didn't include in your video, since I've been following your channel for so long now. Aysha Qandisha is much more of a powerful female figure in Morocco than a mythical Jinn. The original name of this woman was given to her by the Portuguese: Aisha Contessa. She was a fierce Moorish Mujahidah against the Portugese in the 15th century. The Portugese thought her a ghost, and her fame reached every part of Morocco. Nowadays, only few people belive she actually exists, namely kids and people in the central cities of Morocco such as Fes and Meknes which are very invested in the obscure world. In the rest of Morocco, she's more celebrated than feard, and everybody past the age of 10 knows what the legend is about.

Interesting video. I have personally experienced many episodes of severe mood shifts and lost of motivation etc, but after trying the Islamic Ruqyah method it always gets lighter and easier on me.

In Malaysia Ruqya centers are everywhere, I was a skeptic and felt I might be afflicted by one so I gone to a couple of them. Most rarely have patients so usually you will get private session. If you go a popular local ruqya center, most people in that area will randomly come. There you can just sit amongst large crowds and witness a few people have those affect like in those movies you saw. I saw once a girl jumps high and horizontally literally defying logic, attack people in the crowd. Some really talks in foreign language,.acts like a tiger or confess as an archaic deity on hill tops something like that..
All of the session are in the orthodox quranic recitation without drums or talisman because posession usually happened because of talisman made by magic user like in those diagrams in Sham Al Maarif then tied into a knot. In one Ruqya center I've gone to have a wall of magic talisman gallery that they found buried near the house of the possessed.
Just visit a few if you are skeptical.
As a former sunni niw turned quran only, Im still quite skeptic towards ruqyah. All these supposed rasukan could be mental illnesses (or from chemicals/drugs) that are not discovered yet or that particular area really dont have competent doctors

After many times witnessing different places and people affected by it, plus the shit happened around. I guess it was like how Ayahuasca can turn an Atheist to a witness to the unseen. But, this is without any drugs or any bs. Seriously I was skeptical of most videos online. Just take a leap of faith, challenge it to the core, visit and see with your own eyes. Don't ever take my word, verify on your own.

There are many turkish horror movies which depict Jinn possessions. Movies like Sijjin, Dabbe, etc. are one of the best content on this.

Not all of them are good they all have the same sort of story line but my favourite and I hope you would like the Dabbe 4 : Curse of the Djinn.

the modern take on jinn is really fascinating authors in Saudi are writing novels about jinn and at this point it's not horror but a jinn genre on it's own also growing up there was always a story about the school jinni and in some families you can hear a story or two It's a gold mine of stories
LMAO the "school jinni" brought back memories from when I was studying at an islamic school. And there was a classmate who liked eating graphite from pencils and climbing rooftops for some reason, leading some to believe he got influenced by jinns 😂

There's a famous story where i live, a man was building his home and was having financial problems buying construction materials, he one day started finding materials like cement and bricks, he decided not to question it or tell anyone and just use the materials, he kept building and finding new materials coming from nowhere, he was able to build a fancy two storey house, after some time living in it he started to hear noises and talking upstairs in one room, sometimes he'd close the door just to find it open at night, he brought an imam to check the room and he found that a jin was living there, the imam ordered the jin to leave but the jin told the imam to ask the man about all the building materials he got for free, the jin was helping the man build his home in exchange for a room upstairs, the man larer decided to move out of the house and its still abandoned to this day
Similar famous story where I live...there's a famous sweets shop in Darjeeling called "Narayan Das"..it exists till today ,located at the very heart of the town ..today run by his grandchildren...their grandfather called Narayan das one day meet a jin.He used to be very poor then..one night he meet jin somewhere near railway station riding on white horse and the jin gave him 1 rupee from his pocket and told to keep it with him...later he kept that money with him and after some years he become super rich,opened sweets shop under his name,his business blossomed....everyone in my place know this story... there's a saying that not to accept anything from jinn or else the jinn will take that person after his or her death..
as a Muslim, i have to admit, this guy knows more about my religion than myself. its something i appreciate. Although most of us are brought up to believe that these practices are forbidden in islam (including myself), i do believe there is more to it than meets the eye. There is somethings that are hidden away from us, to prevent from being misguided unless you know the proper ''way''. iv encountered religious people who tell me that im ''not spiritually ready to understand'' so its easy to be misguided into the wrong side and to prevent abuse. ofcourse there are so many people who abuse this as well, no doubt.
for example one that suprised me was about the use of talismans, iv always been brought up to believe that its shirik (and ofcourse there are ones which are shirik) , but one person pointed out to me that we undoubtly use it everyday without realizing it. for example would be quranic verses displayed at home. its normal for muslims to display those, because it brings blessings into the house, - but isnt that also a form of talisman ? it actually is if you think about it.

I must say that I'm very impressed by your knowledge. I have myself encountered various species of the Jinn - both the harmless ones and the harmful ones. There is a lot of Jinn activity in my sister's apartment here in Stockholm. I even saw some, but in human shape, and they seemed harmless. I think the bad jinn are attracted to people with low or no morale. Bad jinn are attracted to negative energy. Thus, "normal" people are in no danger. Rosemary Ellen Guiley was an author who believed that many paranormal experiences were actually jinn as opposed to ghosts and the like. She had since passed away but I had been to one of her lectures and she spoke about jinn.

They are the same thing. A Jinn messing about in your house and throwing pots and pans is basically being mischievous. You should throw some pots and pans back too and clearly say you're not afraid. They can do all sorts of nonsense which looks scary to those who don't know about them. But you should read Quran and play the adhaan. They used to open food packets in my sister's new house and scatter them around the kitchen. They'd also slam the walls. We got rid of them in a day.
Just a few things to add:
1. Although there are cases where Jinn and humans have had "relationships", THEY CANNOT INTERBREED. It is absolutely impossible, and there are no mixed human-jinn beings.
2. Writing verses on a piece of paper has no affect or protection against the jinn. They need to be written on one's heart and mind- and recited. That especially has an overpowering/disabling affect on the Shayateen (Satanic) types of Jinn. Some scholars say it's okay to keep these words in an amulet if it gives peace of mind, though they do agree that it's effects are placebo.
3. Furthermore, writing parts of Quran and the angels names etc on diagrams and tables is forbidden and has no protective capacity at all. It's a transgression and integrates astrology and numerology. Furthermore, practitioners of black magic write the very same things along with the names of Jinn in order to summon them and ask for "favours" or protection etc. Some fake raqis (exorcists) also make pacts with the leaders of the Jinn tribes who will then order weaker/subordinate Jinn around. These contracts are very unholy and lead to more corruption and chaos.
As mentioned, burning and inhaling words/fumes is entering transgression and shirk. It's not from Islam. Furthermore, people might be summoning other Jinn to "protect" themselves from the possessing Jinn. This, and other ceremonies to appease/attract the Jinn are strictly forbidden and lead to more chaos/worsening of the situation in the long run.
4. It is not permissible to make friends or deals with the Jinn. Entering their world will only lead to exacerbation of all situations and lives involved. Any "gains" are often short-lived.

When I was Muslim, I had several exorcism perfomed on me, but they never worked to cure my mental ailments. When I left and got proper psichyatric treatment I improved. Jinn possesions are just supersticious ways to explain mental illness.
Not all psychological problems are jinn related. Another thing to keep in mind is that most of those who claim that they can remove such things, they cant. It’s not just what you recite but also who does the recitation. Most people can recite exactly the same thing and nothing will happen. And there is some who actually can heal. I know one like that.

In the 20th century they're still people who used Djinn to tend for their cows or buffaloes. Some are also used a security to guard their farms or houses. Some are used for beauty purposes. The Djinn will passed down to the children of the desceased when the owner is dead. As a muslim jinns are always fascinating. When I was a child my friends and I would sit in a dark room clustered together and telling jinn stories. Such memories.
Also one time my mum got really sick. she had to stay in hospital for some days. During that time I often went to my neighbours' who helped my mum. Their grandma adored my mum and told me that some jinn casted evil eye because she was so pretty🤣. That jinn couldn’t stop looking at her. She also said some weird stories and spooked me real good. Of course i didn’t believe these stories even though i believe in jinns. I told her what the gramma said to me after she recovered. Then mum told me that the grandma actually gave her some herbs for health benefits that made her sick in the first place. We know she meant her well but we told mum not to accept medicinal herbs from someone.

I had an NDE (near death experience) at 4 when I fell from a third floor balcony. Though I know it's impossible, it seemed as if I was 'caught' prior to hitting the hood of the car I fell on.

But I advice you not to look for them you can learn about them but do not try to encounter them it’ll change your life in the worst way possible.

1- the jin are a creation made of a smokeless flame and there are many types like Ghouls, with different abilities like flying, shape shifting.
2- jin have different ranks and names based on strength like Marid and ifrit
3- the jin are neutral as you said, but the evil type of them are called Chaytan like ibliss (Satan)
Satan is an attribute used to refer to evil humans and jinn

I still beliieve " Jin " derives its name and natural signification from the indo-european " Genius ( Latin ) -> Ján ( Persian ) denoting independent inner Psyche i.e. a sort of daimon .
