- its happening again like last year but the silver lining is its on old gen which makes sense but that just means the clock is ticking for all our other older titles

3 was better but only 4 is really alive so tough luck now. Otherwise I just play 1.
Idk it’s boring now, I used to have loads of fun with bf4 but everyone’s a sweaty try hard these days and all I want is to mess around and have fun but nope everyone’s got to use the same guns and equipment, attachment max (with thermal scope,flash hidder and the spotter), so every match is just aek’s and drone spam or you run for like 20 miles just to constantly get raped by the viper. I’ve been playing it on and off for its whole 10 year life span and idk the magic it once had has kind of gone. I no longer play like I used to either but that might be bec I’m burnt out from gaming as a whole and find enjoyment from other things now like motorbikes.
the ea app is trash and crashes/ loses connection all the time.

I get shutting down Hardline and BF4 on 7th gen consoles because they're available on newer gen systems but why the fuck is BF3 being shut down on the 360? It's backwards compatible on the newer xbox consoles AND people still pay to rent servers.
For BF3 another ticking clock working against it is Marketplace on 360. That's going to be shut down in July 2024. Meaning that even if EA would keep the servers for BF3 going on their end, people who rent servers wouldn't be able to even upkeep them since the functionality of purchasing extensions would no longer work.
@@therealthirst8099 I think people will still be able to purchase backwards compatible content on newer consoles, it doesn't make any sense for them to delist that stuff.
@@ToiletGrenade Correct me if I'm wrong, but the game and DLC are backwards compatible, other content isn't, such as RSP? Renting servers has to be done on a 360 last time I checked, so when the 360 marketplace closes so will the ability to renew rented servers.

these infrastructures can thankfully be revived by the players. Bfbc2 is still playable online on pc
This isn't live service its dedicated servers companies can't keep dedicated servers running for every game forever on every platform just an unfortunate reality for multiplayer games

With the whole PSN debacle over and the game now being able be played without the use of PSN account Sony still decided to leave out to countries who don’t have access to make a PSN account the ability to even buy the game to begin with. Absolutely scummy practice

That sucks about bf3, it was pretty active every time I play the multiplayer, still love playing my favorite missions from the campaign.
You are making a reasonable argument here, at some point it is valid for devs to shut down the servers. However, the root of the issue is that players are not *able to open their own servers anymore*, unlike in the pre ~2010 era. Luckily Venice Unleashed and Project Rome exist, but devs should just release the dedicated server files, especially when official servers are shut off.
There is no way they can shut down BF4 as long as people like Banzore and TBG are hosting servers.
So bf3, my favorite game of all time, is officially dead now.... never to get the remaster it deserves....
I started playing BF4 in 2023 on my ps5 when I boycotted call of duty and bought 2042, 2042 sucked so I bought BF4 and I am playing as I type this. Best game I have ever played. I'm no OG player for sure but I loved this game from the moment I first opened it.

BF2042 portal was suppose to be our ability to play old versions but it was just abandoned.
I only got to play like 1 match of Scavenger on Xbox because I was late to the BF3 party. Such a shame I may never get to again. Anyone else miss Aftermath?
Since Venice Unleashed and Warsaw Revamped exist, BF3 and 4 will be accessible on PC as long as people want them to last :)

I think it is really sad that on european PC servers for bf3 and 4, they are ruined by corrupt trash admins on the most popular servers that ban anyone calling out their boyfriends who cheat no matter how many people does it. The difference between their click and others gameplay is really visible when they lock onto you regardless of what you do or stand + use every exploit possible with 0 enforcement of rules.

I decided to boot up Hardline two days ago, and I found only three servers available (only one of them had any players in the lobby).
I understand it is an older title and unpopular compared to the mainline installments, but seeing that honestly took something out of me.

I'm glad I double checked because I could have sworn that they said they will close it down in november. I wanted to do one more final video on multiplayer on the day before it shuts down. I think it would be interesting to actually be there when I came actually get shut down permanently.
