- To say the first Major League Fishing BFL on Table Rock Lake was brutally cold is an understatement! The morning started off with temps in the middle 20"s and it never got above freezing. Ice was an issue. Lance and I fished around the Kimberling City area focusing on mid depths with a variety of baits. Here's how it went down.

It was good to see you at weigh in! I can confirm it did not get above freezing, I had icicles hanging off my motor while my coangler was going to get our weigh bags after check in 😂🥶
Good seeing you too. Mid morning I picked up my bottled water off the floor of the boat to get a drink and half of the water was frozen. Good times.
I fished that tournament and I can attest to how cold it was. Had ice in the guides all day. Fish cooperated though so that always helps.

Fished my first bfl as a co angler this tournament. One of the coldest long runs I’ve ever had to make lol. Fun time tho!

helpful hint: I carry a Chapstick in my pocket just for my guides. Works like a champ.

We have a youth tournament the 1st Sunday in May. What do you recommend for us to be successful?
Should be plenty of fish shallow and biting. I would use your confidence baits. Good luck.
