@@JohnReavesLive The band are session musicians. Babymetal has staff composers. They also bring in guest composers for most of the songs. For example the Dragonforce guitarists helped compose Road of Resistance. Some of the songs were written before the Kami Band existed.
As far as members Yui Mizuno left in 2018. She was a last minute scratch for Legend S for Suzuka Nakamoto's 20th birthday in late 2017. The crowd sang all of Yui's parts. Since then It's just been girls who dance in the spot to fill the choreography. Babymetal has had two members since 2018.
Su-Metal wrote the lyrics for this one, that in itself is amazing progression. I wish the song was longer because it's so good.

'Divine Attack - Shingeki' is the first of five new singles from the upcoming 10 track concept album 'THE OTHER ONE'.
The album is due out March 24th, 2023.
Each of the 10 songs will explore a different alternate world in the overall "Metalverse".
The other four singles will be released in November, January, February and March.
Music and arrangement are by MEGMETAL (Wada Megumi) and Hayato Yamamoto.
MEGMETAL was heavily involved in the 'Metal Galaxy' album.

Su is probably one of the most unique vocalist in the heavy scene. She doesn't have that usual operatic or raspy voice like most female singers but hers is like a straight line yet its soo powerful it pierces through all the heavy barriers in their music.
Her voice compliment the heavy music perfectly.

You jump too early to new BM era, in the middle of your journey you lost the info about YuiMetal leaving the group in 2018, since then you'll see backup dancers along with them on stage when performing live but the only frontwomen and official members of this group are SuMetal and MoaMetal.

BM is back! This is their 1st single out of five until album release next year and is totally a banger and my jam, plus SuMetal got the lyrics credits on this, everyone is proud and happy she reached one of her dreams. She rocks!❤️
"Divine Attack - Shingeki" got some drum&bass combined with the heavy riffs of metal sound and belongs to the Cavalry snippets set they were releasing on The Other One digital gallery, also "The Other One" is the name of their next concept album. Love the "Pendulum" vibes in that DnB section, but also got some reminiscence to Kingslayer, their latest collab with BMTH. Btw I think, and this is a common guess among fans, the lyrics got kinda a tribute or some inspiration from Attack On Titan (Shingeki No Kyojin) anime series, the more i hear the lyrics the more i'm convinced, but we all know this is part of a concept album with apparently different worlds on each one of their songs and everything, including the story, will be revealed at their own time. So far we can say that this song carry the spirit of Road Of Resistance and some others songs with uplifting lyrics but is a battlecry, a call to arms and fight for your future.

The Other One is the name of the new album, it is a play on The One which was the name given to the fans and also included all of the Babymetal team, We Are The One, this is supposed to be an alternate version of Babymetal or the other side of Babymetal or a mirror version of Babymetal. It is interesting the symbol at the top it is both the letter O mirrored but also makes up an infinity symbol. When Babymetal was sealed they performed a version of The One where they departed earth after climbing a stone staircase and turning into metal spirits they travelled to the Metal Galaxy. The fact that three spirits left, gave hope to some fans that Yuimetal would return to the band, I find this highly unlikely but people can wish if they like. Each of the 10 new songs represents a different world in the Metal Galaxy that the girls visited on their journey, This first song is The world they call Cavalry, which is where the horses come into it.
I am loving these reactions. I’m a huge fan of hard rock/metal although I don’t care for screaming metal so much. I hope you will be able to continue reacting to them 💜
Great to see you're continuing your Babymetal journey! If you want to react to more music videos, there are couple of good ones that have a similar jenty sound to this one. The most obvious would be _Karate,_ which is from their second album, and perhaps the first of their songs with a proper jent sound. It features all three girls, with excellent vocals by Su, contrasted by cute chants from Moa and Yui. But if you want something that is much closer to what you just heard, then _Starlight_ is the track for you. From the third album, and the first video released after Yui left the group. It's the first song in what fans like to call the "trilogy of light", so once you've heard it, you should probably follow it with _Shine_ and _Arkadia._ It's a trilogy on the theme of loss, grief and acceptance, following the departure of Yui and death of guitarist Mikio Fujioka. We'll fill you in as you get to it 🙂

Sadly Yui left the group about 4 years ago after having some undisclosed health issues. Su and Moa have since continued on with backup dancers to fill in Yui's spot, but they don't sing. The Other One is the title for the new album, as it is newly announced I don't think anyone really has much clue to if there is anything special about that title. I've seen people talking about it and coming up with theories. Some think Moa going to have more of an equal vocal presences in the album, saw someone still holding out Yui is coming back, and others thinking they are adding a new third member. I know they kind of usually have a story/lore with the group and their albums, so I'm sure they will release more hints as the album release gets closer.
Don't remember where, but I remember seeing that the album is meant to be like a "What if?" sort of multi-verse concept.

Great stuff. Great way to start the new era of BABYMETAL with a song partly written by Su herself. This gives us an idea what the song is. The definitive version, as always with BABYMETAL, will be when it’s performed live. Yui hasn’t performed for five years ( officially left four years ago) there have been various background dancers (non singing) filling her place since with Moa handling all the backing vocals.
Great reaction but such a shame about your RoR reaction. This one should be OK, there have been so many reactions on this song in the last few days since it came out and nobody seems to have had any problems with it.
I'm sure you have been pointed towards live performances that are safe to use (generally the Budokan, Black Night and Legend 1997 concert performances are safe as they are older now and the DVDs are not as expensive or hard to find as later concerts) and the reactor resource spreadsheet that you can find in the Future Plans video description should cover virtually all you could need ... some of the official videos (like RoR) tend to get blocked unless you use some sort of filter too.
Yes there are just two of them now - Su-metal and Moametal. Yuimetal last appeared in October 2017, she missed the Legend S concerts for Su's 20th birthday in December that year under doctor's advice and was absent for the 2018 tour.
In October 2018 she announced she was still not fully recovered and had decided to leave the band.
Su and Moa chose to continue as a duo and for live shows from 2019 through 2021 they were supported by 3 dancers (the Avengers Riho, Kano and Momoko) who would take turns to daance in the third spot.
The Kami Band only play live shows and are not involved in writing the songs or music (guitarist Leda Cygnus is the one known exception, he has done guitar arrangements for one or two songs and played guitar and bass for a handful more), we don't know who does the studio recordings for the album versions.
Su-metal has writing credits for the lyrics for the first time with this song.
BABYMETAL and their fans are collectively known as The One, the next album is a concept album involving songs found in other dimensions and alternative BABYMETALs - so it is The Other One ... to be quite honest I'm really not sure I've understood or explained that properly - we will find out when the album comes out in March.
In the meantime there will be 4 more songs released one a month (not December) between now and the album being released.

Su's voice has definitely matured greatly in the last few years and she's just gotten better and better with time. They say that female vocalists only really start to hit their peak in their late 20's, so at 25 Su hasn't even reached her full potential yet. I can't wait to hear this one live.
Regarding there only being two of them, you are unfortunately correct. Yuimetal was forced to retire from Babymetal in 2018 due to ill health. Since then, Su-metal and Moametal have continued as a duo, with a backup dancer (known as an Avenger) filling Yui's old spot for live performances. The Kami band don't actually play on the albums, they are the band for the live shows.
The text at the end says, "The Other One", which is the name of the new album coming out in march 2023.
As for a suggestion for a music video (which BM don't really have a lot of tbh) I recommend "Megitsune". Although to be honest, getting videos past Amuse's (Babymetal's management company) copyright hammer is hit and miss at the best of times. Putting logos over the video, or altering the opacity sometimes works, but its a complete crapshoot as to what will pass and what won't

BABYMETAL has a lot of live concerts on Blu-Ray. I recommend the Live at Wembley as the best one to start. If you want more, the next stop is the Tokyo Dome double disc (that one is expensive but worth it). Welcome to the BABYMETAL Universe! They never disappoint. If you ever have the chance to see them live, do not hesitate. I’m so lucky, I first saw them on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert SIX years ago (It’s still on UA-cam) and because I live in Los Angeles, I’ve had the privilege of seeing them in concert three times. Greatest live act in the world. Enjoy!

There are currently only 2 member of Babymetal. Yuimetal left in 2018 due to undisclosed health issue. They have a group of 4 girls called the Avengers that they pull from to full in the 3rd spot and not actually part of Babymetal. They only dance and never do any sining. Hence why you only see Su and Moa on all the promotional material.

Su-Metal's voice is soothing and wild as well. I reconfirmed the purity of her voice even after some maturity. Moa's velvety but powerful voice in the back sounds great, too. The first thing came up in my brain was Dante's "The Divine Comedy". A figure with wings reminded me of Beatrice in purgatory. The sacred image is overlapping with Su and Moa, but we all know that is just one of their various faces that we are going to witness from now on. Hail to the newly born lyricist Su!! 😍

I don't mean to be a downer but I think you'll likely get demonetization for most Babymetal songs. I do have my fingers cross for you to continue filming your Babymetal journey without getting banned by UA-cam without worrying too much about monetization, but of course, it's all your decision. Yes there is only 2 official girls now and have been since 2018. Others I am sure will fill you in more. You will see a 3rd filling the dancing roll that our tomato princess , Yui left(only dance though, no mic). She left due to health reasons.

Soooooooooo Yeah Yui-metal left the band due to medical issues in 2018. There is so much about this band that it is hard to explain in a comment. I would suggest you watch the "Unhelpful Guide to Babymetal" and give that a reaction. Yes its a bit long but its a great video and worth the watch. The Japanese music industry is notorious for blocking youtube reactions, They really do not care about international success the same way that other industries do. Taka of One Ok Rock discussed this in a interview and has been a big supporter of YT reactors as well as getting outside the Japanese bubble with the label Fueled by Raman. There are a few bands I would love for you to check out but I know 200% that your video would be hit no matter what you do to it.

I don't know why I picked this reaction to hear the new song for the first time. It just popped up, I guess.
After at least 6k hours listening to the first three albums, I've been oddly wary of the new one.
I think it's partly from not wanting to get hyped up and disappointed. And also not wanting to have to wait too much for 'all of it' to be available.
(Plus I totally loved Yui. Surely the cutest member of Babymetal, and the human race in general.)
But I broke my own rules and listened to this. And I have to say it's pretty strong. And it's a decent reaction, too.
But nothing show-stopping so far. I can see this being added to my in-car playlist of (BM only) songs from 9+ years ago. And I'll happily blast it out as Su's vocals are as disarming as ever.
But I think it'll take more than this to convince me that this really a 'new' direction rather than just an extention of an existing one.
