hows the battery compared to the older versions? and hows the internets connections through WiFi? i know theres a internet port but i wont be able to use that on the go. so connecting through wifi would be blessed. with my old switch it didn't connect to my cottage wifi.
Meh, not for me already have one. Everything listed is just cosmetic changes. Third party games are starting to run terribly on the switch, too much is compromised to be called an enjoyable experience. However, if you don't own a switch it's a nice entry with all the changes mentioned.
yeah that goes with the territory doesn't it? I agree that the upgrades are kinda cosmetic and I agree that if you are making your first purchase then getting the upgrade is better, in the sense the model will be in service longer before a new design comes out. I think people who bought the base model later and all of the sudden this new model comes out, they probably feel cheated because they spent their life's savings out of the little piggy bank they had on their desk for ten years. If only they had delayed just a few more months that piggy bank would've paid off better. Now they feel what they have somehow been cheapened by the new kid on the block. Lol! I don't know if Nintendo does this but they should at least announce in advance of months to a year when they plan on bringing out a new design so people can be forewarned and decide to wait. But then again that would dig into their profits. Oh well. I actuality I was just thinking of purchasing the base model over the OLED, just to have, experience the base and then maybe purchase the OLED a few years down the road. It's kinda the way I do it with Mac books. I do it with the Macs that way because if I buy it later then by that time most of the defects and kinks are out of the system. It seems to work out fine that way. Waiting for an OLED later isn't really that much of a difference and I might have a change of heart by then to. People should learn to take their time in what they want in order to get the best quality out of their purchases. Especially when it comes to computer stuff.
I'm getting Switch but i choose basic one not OLED. Because in my country i cant order it like you can for 350 dollars. Our shops get not directly from Nintendo so when they sell it price can go almost double. So O asked seller and je said here Basic Switch cost about 360euros and when OLED get here and he dont know even when it Is very possible to cost around 500e so i dont think its good invesment for small improvment so i choose Basic Switch
Since i mostly play in handheld and my Switch is pretty old i might upgrade to OLED transfer the data to the OLED and leave the original if someone wants to take it somewhere or for local 2 console multiplayer
It’s a nice updated model but it’s not a necessary upgrade if you play docked with a pro controller. I haven’t even touched the joycons since I bought my switch back in 2017 and I’ve got 1tb as card because we all know one accidental screenshot fills up it’s memory bank 😂
I just bought a used oled switch (with box charging cables + HDMI) at $357.28 with 1 white pair of joycons and 1 pair of pink and green joycons. And powerA wired controller. Do you think that was a good deal?
Sounds like you saved a few bucks in taxes, got an extra pair of joycons that cost around $60 bucks, and a wired powerA controller is around $30 bucks, so yeah, that's a really good deal.
I am a heavy handheld player i never use the dock 😊. I am not a rich man but i am not on a small budget either. Only people i see complaining are you folks who dont work yet or those who play on the dock all the time.
I'm sorry but 720p for a 7-in screen is not enough maybe if you're 50 years old I know I can tell a difference it's part of the reason why I got a s21 ultra with a 1440p screen instead of the normal s21
So your telling me I should just keep my Nintendo switch cause the only change I would use is the big screen cause the other things are irrelevant to me
In 2017 the hardware was okish, in 2021 is just laughable, just take a look at Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Keeping my Switch for BOTW2 and getting the Deck as my main handheld console.
@Craig Adams let’s wait for the reviews, and then see how users report on it after a while. It looks great, but that doesn’t mean it will be the best or successful. Fingers crossed it turns out to be as good as seems and Valve finally have a hardware hit after their last 4 failures.
@It’s all Fun and Games it’s only on par with the PS4 in terms of GPU. It really is much superior in the CPU and RAM department and while yes, console optimisation is a thing, remember this has to render at only 800p for native image quality, significantly lower than the expected PS4 standard of 1080p.
Will Nintendo Switch games have better quality also on the TV screen with Nintendo Switch OLED console or only on the Nintendo Switch OLED console's screen?
The quality are the same, but OLED should have better quality because of the dock and OLED screen, mainly because oled has better RGB values, making games look sharper
Your choice. Just keep in mind the OLED is an 'upgrade' on the features. Research the videos to learn what the differences are. If you are happy with just the base model without the enhancements then you'll save about $50 or more dollars. The point is too start somewhere if you want to game. I simply started with the latest design when I bought, and then go from there. For some it's going to be about having the latest, for most it's going to be about budget. Being happy is the point of gaming.
If you mostly play on the go and hardly on TV then go with an oled but yeah as the guy has replied to you, just go with the original if ur playin on TV but it don't matter in the end.
I gotta say i wasn’t thrilled at the announcement of the oled switch but having procured the last preorder available @ my local GameStop I’m wholeheartedly looking forward 2 playing it in Oct
I think this is the last upgrade to a switch we will get! That is Before Nintendo comes out with a entirely new console. That plays new games. With more power! Will be nice if it has backwards compatibility to play Switch games. So considering this will be as good as it gets for switch. I Pre ordered the O led model!
So heres a question. I used to play my handheld systems from Gameboy to New 3ds Xl on the go. Now when i take my switch out and on the go i usually have the sun washing out the screen. Will Oled provide better clarity in sunlight?
Depends on the Nits (peak brightness) of the display, if you want a glare free screen then find a screen protector with a matte finish instead of gloss, it’s anti reflective and looks better longer in my opinion
In one video there seems to still be a problem with playing with friends via Ethernet if that's what you mean? Even with the OLED. Those problems still haven't been resolved according to what I saw and I'm not exactly sure what the details of those problems might be. I'm buying it just for the upgrades alone as far as sound, screen size and what appears to be more poppier colors on the screen. Plus there is the wider back stand and what may be a better dock for the handheld. Plus I believe it was the memory that has been DOUBLED on this system from the old one which would accommodate more games as some need a lot of memory it seems. You'll want to look into that one a little more.
Nintendo know their audience and they know they don’t need to try Ironically, the same fanboys that have been bashing those that dared criticise Nintendo for its stagnation and lack of innovation are the same ones that now complain they got the iPhone of upgrades over their old switch.
even one wants the Switch Pro but that isn't coming anytime soon. It's probably the next generation. Nintendo is making profit with the Switch. It basically brought the company back into the console race. I didn't think that would even happen.
@@thecunninlynguist well an upgrade would make it too big to be portable to a wide audience. Now the lite is out, why make a pro portable? I think if they do it, it will be a docked only model. Or no dock at all, it'll be like a new wii
Well if you look at it that way then all I can say is 'you should've recognized the flaws in the base model 4 years ago and just waited'. The whole point of video gaming is 'are you happy with your current system?' You buy new clothes and shoes right? Do you complain about that? Oh and what about gas for the car and food on the table, not to mention rent. Welcome to the flawed human race. You know what I think people should do who aren't happy about gaming? Learn to code and make your own games. Gaming is not a need. It's a want. These are reality.
Was literally about to buy my first Switch, then saw they were taking pre-orders for this. Think I’ll wait a month and get the OLED version then.. same price & better! 👌🏼

hows the battery compared to the older versions? and hows the internets connections through WiFi? i know theres a internet port but i wont be able to use that on the go. so connecting through wifi would be blessed. with my old switch it didn't connect to my cottage wifi.
I just wanna know how to get that $29.99 switch.
That production cost 🤣
I just bought a used oled switch (with box charging cables + HDMI) at $357.28 with 1 white pair of joycons and 1 pair of pink and green joycons. And powerA wired controller. Do you think that was a good deal?
Sounds like you saved a few bucks in taxes, got an extra pair of joycons that cost around $60 bucks, and a wired powerA controller is around $30 bucks, so yeah, that's a really good deal.
I am a heavy handheld player i never use the dock 😊. I am not a rich man but i am not on a small budget either. Only people i see complaining are you folks who dont work yet or those who play on the dock all the time.
frames are still gonna drop like they couldn’t boost the clock or more ram or SOMETHING??????
Why not charge the same price
I have ps5 never owned a switch should I get the oled version??
I mean, I don’t see why you would but if it’s your first time then yeah get the OLED
I'm sorry but 720p for a 7-in screen is not enough maybe if you're 50 years old I know I can tell a difference it's part of the reason why I got a s21 ultra with a 1440p screen instead of the normal s21
So your telling me I should just keep my Nintendo switch cause the only change I would use is the big screen cause the other things are irrelevant to me
Am I looking at the right model cause Nintendo selling Oled for $449
In 2017 the hardware was okish, in 2021 is just laughable, just take a look at Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
Steam Deck specs confirmed.
Vid didn't really reveal a whole lot, but ok -
Oled is not that big of a improvement specially on such a small screen plus the games look equally shitty and the resolution is the same
Preordered it, can’t wait
the original joy cons do not work?
Will Nintendo Switch games have better quality also on the TV screen with Nintendo Switch OLED console or only on the Nintendo Switch OLED console's screen?
The quality are the same, but OLED should have better quality because of the dock and OLED screen, mainly because oled has better RGB values, making games look sharper
So is it worth waiting for the new one or can I try the present one
Your choice. Just keep in mind the OLED is an 'upgrade' on the features. Research the videos to learn what the differences are. If you are happy with just the base model without the enhancements then you'll save about $50 or more dollars. The point is too start somewhere if you want to game. I simply started with the latest design when I bought, and then go from there. For some it's going to be about having the latest, for most it's going to be about budget. Being happy is the point of gaming.
Why is 720p more than good enough on this Nintendo 7 inch screen, but would not be even close to good enough on a 6.5 inch phone screen?
Nintendo switch fans are easy to please, that’s one thing you’ll learn in life
Manage to get the Dread (Black/white) edition. I play mostly handheld, so, it’s definitely for me
Am about to buy a nintendo switch.. I buy the oled then?
Imagine not having the original Switch since 2017?
OLED is quite possibly the stupidest console I've ever seen..
Bet you still preordered it.
@@supervisorjd4458 well as a matter of fact!...
NO.
I don't have any kind of switch yet but I'm thinking of getting one. Should I get the original or OLED?
If you planning on playing it on tv get the old one
@@Wishmaster145 thank you
If you mostly play on the go and hardly on TV then go with an oled but yeah as the guy has replied to you, just go with the original if ur playin on TV but it don't matter in the end.
If it’s your first time get the OLED, you’ll love the battery life, extended space storage and more focused RGB values
I gotta say i wasn’t thrilled at the announcement of the oled switch but having procured the last preorder available @ my local GameStop I’m wholeheartedly looking forward 2 playing it in Oct
I think I’m gonna buy this for the Ethernet port, the WiFi in my room is garbage .-.
I think this is the last upgrade to a switch we will get! That is Before Nintendo comes out with a entirely new console. That plays new games. With more power! Will be nice if it has backwards compatibility to play Switch games. So considering this will be as good as it gets for switch. I Pre ordered the O led model!
THEY DIDNT ADD BLUETOOTH BRUH WTF
Wym
@@blacklyfe5543 they did not add the feature to connect Bluetooth headphones
@@jarrettscott9071 why
So heres a question. I used to play my handheld systems from Gameboy to New 3ds Xl on the go. Now when i take my switch out and on the go i usually have the sun washing out the screen. Will Oled provide better clarity in sunlight?
Don’t think so
Depends on the Nits (peak brightness) of the display, if you want a glare free screen then find a screen protector with a matte finish instead of gloss, it’s anti reflective and looks better longer in my opinion
I was wondering the same thing but doubt it would be different.
Yeah it will
I’m thinking abt getting a switch and i’m not sure if I want the OLED or original, I play all modes quite often with friends. What do you guys think?
Nintendo know their audience and they know they don’t need to try
Ironically, the same fanboys that have been bashing those that dared criticise Nintendo for its stagnation and lack of innovation are the same ones that now complain they got the iPhone of upgrades over their old switch.
Some people will never be happy no matter what you give them.
even one wants the Switch Pro but that isn't coming anytime soon. It's probably the next generation. Nintendo is making profit with the Switch. It basically brought the company back into the console race. I didn't think that would even happen.
Switch pro? Where did you hear that at?
I learned nothing
Nintendo Switch OLED available at a scalper near you
If you don’t own one yet go oled. If you already do don’t waste your money.
I upgraded from lite
PS Vita had an OLED ages ago lol
No cpu upgrade?
I think the switch pro will be the oposit of the switch lite and will be a dock only device
so a PSTV?
@@thecunninlynguist well an upgrade would make it too big to be portable to a wide audience. Now the lite is out, why make a pro portable? I think if they do it, it will be a docked only model. Or no dock at all, it'll be like a new wii
I was hoping for built in Bluetooth....
Not spending $350 on a device that should have been released 4 years ago
SMART MAN👏
Well if you look at it that way then all I can say is 'you should've recognized the flaws in the base model 4 years ago and just waited'. The whole point of video gaming is 'are you happy with your current system?'
You buy new clothes and shoes right? Do you complain about that? Oh and what about gas for the car and food on the table, not to mention rent. Welcome to the flawed human race.
You know what I think people should do who aren't happy about gaming? Learn to code and make your own games. Gaming is not a need. It's a want. These are reality.
Yea I pre ordered this in white but ima cancel it and just stick with my switch lite.
29.99 is wild
Was literally about to buy my first Switch, then saw they were taking pre-orders for this. Think I’ll wait a month and get the OLED version then.. same price & better! 👌🏼
It's meant to cost another 100 quid isn't It?
i Love my OG switch Unpatched
Nope…..Switch and Apple have one thing in common they do very small incremental upgrades. So I went and preordered a 512gb Steam Deck.
Hope it works for you. Maybe you can share more details on your experience. People are always looking for shortcuts and deals. The important thing is quality though.
We are not gonna pass the disappointment because we are not giving Nintendo our money anymore untill next gen. And is only 3 differences. OLED, Sound and Ethernet port. Nothing more. One more inch of screen is not that big of a deal.
In short:
Playing on TV? Old switch is cheaper and the same.
Playing handheld only? Just get the cheaper Switch Lite.
REALLY want a 7" screen for handheld? OLED.
its kinda sad that my country sells it for 800$
I have a switch lite, and am heavily thinking about getting this, do you guys think it’s worth it ?
Yep
Sold my switch a while ago, trying to figure out how I can play pokemon unite on the steam deck lol. Pre ordered an oled just in case though.
I feel like you could have cut this down to 5
Only thing I want to know is, will there still be lag in botw?
Yup same processor etc
So basically pay 50$ extra for some things that should have already be in an overpriced console.
PS5 *Switch edition*
