- After having the Nintendo Switch OLED for a year and changing, I've noticed a few things about it. Initially, I had strong opinions about some things, but time has changed that. Consider this a late-to-the-party review of the Nintendo Switch OLED.

The moment I turned it on I was blown away by its screen. Never understood the warm reception it got. It so much better than the original
Yup! It's one of those things that you have to really see it with your own eyes to really appreciate it. No commercial or video will do it justice.
My phpne is 3k dynamic amoled but the oled 720 p is alsp nice
The screen isn't even the coolest thing about it imo and it's still brilliant. Vibrant, colourful games like Zelda, Smash Bros, Pokémon and more look incredible.

I have it since launch. I love how much the oled is better build than the original. It’s more solid, it feels more quality. I just love it.
Yeah. I don't know if it's a placebo affect or what, but it feels way more solid than the original Switch.

If you only occasionally play on the go and usually play in docked mode then the difference isn't that big. But if you play mostly or only handheld like I do then the Switch pro is a gamechanger! It literally feels like a "switch pro" in terms of increasment in quality, immersion and colors.

This device is so awesome. There are many portable options out there but the Nintendo Switch OLED, in my opinion, is the standard on how a portable console should be. I love the bluetooth (with Apple airpods pro) and is amazing with their noise cancelling feature.
Great review/re-review, natural, organic and very close to how it feels, one year later, this console.

I got the older nintendo switch I don't really care about a oled to be honest this because everyone forgetting we didn't care when we had a gameboy we still played for hours it's all about the nintendo games for me =-)
The most important factor is no drift on the OLED!

When switch launched I was scared of it being underpowered and thought my money would be best saved for the first hardware refresh where framerates would be a little smoother. The OLED was a tad underwhelming when announced, but I was finally released of any buyers remorse. So i grabbed the preorder.
The OLED feels like what the launch switch should have always been, polished and refined. Gone are the crappy kick stand and ugly screen bezels, plus there is a beautiful screen. Build quality has been improved a lot in general, and I'm not worried about my plastic vents cracking over time.
Not to mention the switch in general fills a niche I have, of wanting to tote a home console to a friends house for couch co-op/party games. I keep the genki covert dock and switch in my backpack at all times. This means that if I grab a bag of controllers on my way out the door I have everything I need for the ultimate game night with the homies.... ON THEIR TV....
TLDR: Your content is awesome, I judged the switch to harshly at launch, OLED fixes problems I feel the og never should have had, switch is great buy one

And.yes, I was a bit underwhelmed at first. It wasn't until I had the SWOLED in my hands and in front of me that I really saw it for what it was: a polished and refined iteration of the OG Switch with a beautiful screen. I don't regret buying it.
Another very small change that is frequently forgotten is a small bump in storage. From 32 GB to 64 GB.
That is true. The extra storage is nice. I always get an microSD because of how many games I like to have on my Switch.

Still feel this was just another cash grab by Nintendo. Minimal upgrades for 350 bucks. Should have just made the switch pro people have actually been asking for.
Agreed that's why I still haven't gotten one. Plus it can't be jailbroken so imo you're better off getting something equally as portable but with Android.
I had a similar experience... my original Switch (bought it day 1 :D) is working fine...I didn't feel the need to buy the OLED version, even though the VITA had an OLED screen and it was a great experience. However, it all changed recently when I actually saw the OLED version in a friend's house. When I was at Gamescom, soo many people were playing on the OLED... Soo a few weeks later I bought one I splurged for one too. It's a nice upgrade :D, Nintendo made great choices to enhance the experience haha.
Yeah. It's funny how it all changes when you see it in person with your own eyes. Haha
They literally chose to withhold most of the upgrades we actually wanted though. It needs a true next-gen upgrade. I'm just saying, they did the bare minimum if even.
@@WinterReflections yeah, I can agree with that. Probably so that there is no real power difference between the Switch versions... Hopefully they will be a new Switch 2 next year or the year after :).
I saw it at the store and was tempted to buy, then I realized I should be patient and wait for the inevitable "Pro" or whatever the true upgraded version will be called. Its just simply not worth it.
Hey I was thinking of getting the Oled for my son, will all his switch games work on the oled or will I need to repurchase? Also what about the games he's bought and Downloaded can they be transferred to the oled?
One thing I really like with the Switch is that if you purchase the physical game card, it does not use the the internal memory of the Switch. I have a PS5 and it is always an issue for me when I purchase the physical game disc but I still need to store 50-100 GB of data to the console as well.
The only time the game uses internal storage is for patches and updates to the base game. The cool thing is that the latest versions of cartridges typically have all the patches and updates on them. Those are the ones that don't take up any internal storage (aside from save data.)
This depends on the game. For example, Doom 2016 downloads about 16 GB of content for Deathmatch, which is not present on the cart.

As a handheld player the Switch OLED was such a big upgrade, it feels better, joycons have yet to experience drift and the screen. Oh my god the screen is so much better, not only do I like the bigger size but the colours are so beautiful. I'm so happy I made the update for relatively cheap. ($220 with TOTK.)
i got my switch oled 1 year after i got my old oringinal switch i should of got it day 1 on the 1st day its out
also i just hate the old switch in handheld mode screen size cuz its soo too small and the graphics are so wash out and the sound is garbage with a built in speakers
but in gaming moniter or tv mode its looks great and the sound is so much better
i like the switch lite for handheld but i dont like the speakers and the screen is still so small like 1 inch bigger then the old o.g. switch
I’ve been debating on getting one. I’ve got the original gray Switch and I don’t usually play it in handheld mode. Seeing as how the dock isn’t updated to perform any differently than the original, I don’t see much of a need in upgrading to the OLED. I also have a hunch that in the near future Nintendo will be announcing the next new and improved Switch console that will also upgrade the dock with the OLED screen. For those reasons I think I’m going to wait. I love the OLED screen, though. I have an LG C1 OLED and I will never be able to play on anything less than that. The image quality and performance enhances it offers is incredible.
Definitely agree. If you're playing mostly docked, then there's no reason to upgrade. I have an LG G1 and I loooooove it for gaming. Never thought I'd enjoy my viewing experience as much as I do with my G1.
@@baldlyrudy I felt the same way. I can never go back to lesser model TVs now. LG is on top of their game, no pun intended, when it comes to their gaming lineup of TVs. I don’t know if any other company can compete with them right now. Do you think having a 4K output on the Switch dock would make that much of a difference in image quality for Nintendo specific IP’s because of the art style they choose to make their games in?
Agreed. Especially since LG is the only OLED manufacturer in the TV space. Samsung does have the QD-OLED TVs, but it's still in it's infancy. It could potentially be better in the future.
I think Nintendo should use DLSS with Nvidia's silicon. That would make sense. And 4K technology is pretty old at this point. I'd like to believe that most people have a 4K display.
As to whether or not it'll affect Nintendo's games is a whole different thing. I think Nintendo's priority IS the quality of the game (mechanics, ease of entry to games, high skill ceiling, etc.) I think resolution is the last thing on their mind. If anything, I think the next hardware refresh will be 720-1080 handheld/1440-4K docked with DLSS all over it.
I mean if you don't mind that most of the switch oled screen has an issue call green tint, that basically makes grey dark areas look green. If you don't mind that, you can get one
The OLED was my first switch and I love it so much I got my kids a V2 Switch so we can play the games we like. Love that it can be played handheld as well as docked.

It's 100% worth the extre 50 bucks over the original.
But, it was too expensive to begin with. Especially, with the likes of the Stream Deck only costing an extra 70 over the Oled Model. But, the screen on the Steam Deck doesn't deserve a place in the same room as the switch Oled.
Plus, the Steam Deck isn't exactly small.
The Switch joycons weren't cheap to make. There's a lot of tech packed in them. Bluetooth, IR sensor, gyro, accelerometer, hd haptics, rechargeable batteries, nfc reader. Onboard controls are much cheaper, so Valve could put that money into a more powerful SOC. And most people bought the mid tier model. What the Switch lacked in gpu power, it made up for with features, and ways to play. But most people don't see the big picture, especially PC gamers.
I still have the v1 switch. I mostly play docked mode and only play handheld when the tv is being used or I'm outside. Battery was never an issue to me because I don't usually play for longer sessions. Mostly played 2-3 hours just enough how the battery lasts. I never had joycon drift yet maybe because I don't play aggressively. I think I don't need to upgrade for now. Maybe in 2 years i might but for now I'm satisfied with my v1 switch
That's great! Honestly, my V1 is still chugging along. Once my son got interested in gaming, I decided to get myself a new one and give him my V1. It's still going strong, but I did need to change the Joycons and get a new kickstand for it.
Imo If you already have a V2 then don't upgrade. If you don't have a switch then go with OLED.
I upgraded from the v2 to the oled and our family used the oled way more compared to the older one. No regrets

burn in is non problem since you actually have to run the same image for a whole year to even make a dent on the screen so basically impossible with normal gameplay

I think they're enough differences, it's not just the screen that justified getting one for me

If you don’t have a switch and want one get the OLED it’s only a 50 dollar difference n it comes with a lil over 50 dollars worth of new features so why not. And if you don’t have 50 to spare than you shouldn’t get a switch in the first place lmao.
I just picked up the new Zelda OLED, and I think you hit the nail on the head. The difference in screen is really noticeable, not only in quality, vibrancy and blacks, but also in size. The kickstand is an enormous improvement as well. And as for the sound, the audio out of the OLED model speakers was considerably better than the ones out of my OG Switch imo.
Nice! Congrats on the Zelda OLED! That thing looks gorgeous. It's hard to convey how good the screen looks through a video. It's definitely something that has to be seen with the naked eye to be truly appreciated.

I was going to buy Zelda Oled switch but not I’m thinking about buying splatoon switch Oled. I don’t care for the game but the splatoon switch Oled looks beautiful. I really like the colours and pattern on joy cons. But I like the doc of Zelda and I like the back of other Oled more. I decided on splatoon Oled because imho the joycons look the best out of all Oled. While a nice dock like Zelda is great, I prefer to have the Oled with better looking joy cons. I think Sony did the designs on purpose. Making 1 switch have better dock and 1 having better looking joy cons and better design on back, makes people like myself, consider buying both. But no, I’ll buy 1, the splatoon. I’d love to have Zelda dock with splatoon switch lol

It's worth it if you can fit it into your budget.
I got my first switch back in March and I’m not impressed. I don’t play it that often. Nintendo needs to come out with something new that is actually great. Not okay, great. OLED was on one of the PSP models. Maybe vita but it was ahead of it’s time. Way ahead. They need to bring a legit console or a handheld that can play games at 4K/60 or at least 1080/120. I love the PS5 and I would rather play it than the switch. If I had a Xbox X, I would switch between it and PS5. I even couldn’t find the switch at one point.
So in other words, all this guys trying to tell you is that there isn’t much difference at all between the OG Switch console and the OLED Switch console in terms of upgrading but if your someone who doesn’t have the switch and looking to buy one that is a premium console to go with the OLED. Lol this was all explained in a 7:17 UA-cam video in which he already had the OG switch to begin with but chose to waste his money and buy an OLED switch as well, hope this video helped everyone……..
Everyone has different circumstances. Some people have the OG Switch and are considering getting an OLED. Others don't have a Switch and are wondering which one to get. Just saying one is better than the other without any sort of context is irresponsible on my part.

Fortunately I was able to get a oled late last year. Though I have owned almost all of Nintendo's consoles aside from the GameCube I was never into their handhelds which is why I stayed away from the switch. Now I'm glad that I have it especially since I just picked up dread a couple of weeks ago on sale...👍😁

I have every Nintendo console except for the N64. The handhelds were always a big thing growing up, but I fell off with the original DS. I did pick up a 2DS near the end of the 3DS lifecycle. Good times man. Nintendo was innovative there.
Thinking of upgrading from my day 1 switch to the OLED, so helpful video! I got a new job where I’ll be traveling a lot more and I think the OLED screen will be a game changer on the go.

If I remember correctly, Nintendo themselves said that the Switch form factor could be their last console, but don't take my word for it. I would Google, just to be sure.

Just buy a Steam Deck, you won't regret it (except maybe for the screen which isn't an oled).
@Despicable Al steam Deck an older titles like GTA IV or Fallout 3 / New Vegas get 4 to 5 hours on the Steam Deck with a 40fps lock, no prob. Demanding titles kill the Switch battery very fast too. So it depends what you game and on the settings. Switch for me is still king for travel, due to light weight and form factor.
My issue with Switch is game pricing. I have the OLED and I love it, but I've just bought 13 Sentinels on PS5 as it's £19.99 on PS Store, £49.99 on Nintendo Store. This has been repeated over time for just about every game on my wish list. Clannad £49.99, £12 on Steam!!!
I understand that sentiment. Games released on Nintendo consoles, especially first party titles, tend to retain value for a long time. That being said, third party titles all around go down in price relatively quickly. I'm in the US and 13 Sentinels on Switch is going for $29.99 (~£24.99). Just gotta be patient and the sales will be there.

I went for the OLED after my launch switch started to give out. I owned that switch for almost 5 years! it was time to upgrade anyways, and I am very happy with the OLED.
I’m hoping Nintendo doesn’t release a pro model for a while lol.
Oh yeah! I'm very happy with it. It's a totally unnecessary purchase, but I definitely made an impact in my gaming experience overall.
@@baldlyrudy the only part of the process that was inconvenient was the transfer of save data for games that didn’t sync to the cloud. I almost lost ALL of my Pokémon data, which had Pokémon from my original games (since 95!) - I would have been legit devastated if that happened, but I got lucky and accidentally did it. just be weary, you need to manually transfer Pokémon game data since it does not sync to the cloud!

What's the battery life like a year later? And compared to the older model does it deplete faster due to the oled screen?
Pretty solid at ~5 hours of continuous gameplay. It's great for travel. I don't think the OLED screen affects battery life too drastically.

Hello, I'm thinking of buying a new console, do you think the Nintendo switch oled is ideal for me? Since I like to play FIFA, adventure and car games and also family games.
Got the Lite in 2022 and I loved it. But wanted to have the OLED as well so I got it in August 2024. I know the next Switch is close, but I regret nothing. 🫶🏻😅
i bought mine about 2 weeks ago now, never owned a switch, infact last nintendo console i owned was a 3ds, i am in love with the switch oled, its amazing, sure it doesnt run games as good as my PC and sure its 720p but for a handheld console its good enough.
Welcome to the platform. The Switch is a damn great console. Despite it being overpowered by other platforms, it's still a favorite of mine.
I was holding out on getting a switch until there was a must have game…well Zelda TOTK is almost hear so I finally got an OLED. Love it so far. 😊
Does anyone have scratches on the back of the console? I don’t have a case but there are scratches and tiny marks on the back.. I’m also thinking about buying a back plate for my switch oled so I can replace it because it looks scuffed up with all the scratches. I’m guessing it’s the texture or my fingernails..

You can always get the OLED dock to use the Ethernet there. That's always an option.

Just get a steam deck. It’s leagues ahead of the oled switch for only an extra 50ish $. and You can play switch games on the steam deck with emulaters
There's definitely a power difference. I just got mine a few weeks ago and love it. It gave me that same feeling that the Switch gave me when I first got it.
I’m getting the new Pokémon scarlet and violet switch Oled I’m super excited
the only issues ive had is nintendo the company with their management and overpriced games as well as the only physical issue with the rail loosening over time and causing disconnection with the joy cons. other than that its def the console that fits almost every gamer.
What should have happened is the og switch dropped to $249 and the oled model replaced it at $299.
Same as ever. A serious lack of good ports and a company charging £50 for 10 year old games. Sold mine and bought the Steamdeck
Two really great games just got ported to the Switch: Nier Automata and Persona 5 Royal.
I guess it depends on what you're into when it comes to games. Most of the time people go to Nintendo for their first party titles. Also, I just got a Steam Deck and have been enjoying myself. Currently working on a video on it. Should be out soon-ish.

@@okthen5566 Never had a game crash or had to tweak any settings to get a good experience. Honestly, that really sounds like something someone would say that can't afford a Steamdeck, son
I got all my games with 50 to 80% discount be patient i only had two crashes in a year
i dont like playing my old switch in hanheld mood just only tv or gaming moniter mood is cuz in handheld mood it got bad audio and bad wash out color compare to the tv or gaming moniter with speakers
the oled has a better built in screen and better audio compare to my garbage handheld mood in the old oringial Nintendo Switch its good on tv side or gaming moniter side just not in its built in screen mood the old switch is so bad in handheld mood it makes my tablet look better

Got the switch lite when it first came out, and it’s still up and running. Haven’t had any problems with it. I bring with me everywhere I go.
Is there any drift in the Switch Lite? I've considered getting one, but was hesitant.
@@baldlyrudy There is absolutely NO drift At all for me. I always make sure mine is cleaned every 2 weeks for dust that can get trapped under the thumb sticks. It also helps to keep it covered when you’re not using it. You won’t get drift if you take very good care of it.

I normally have my OLED in a case since I play mainly handheld. Still though....dust gets everywhere.

The story remains the same. If you play undocked, get the OLED. Unless you play almost exclusively on your TV, the $50 price increase is a no-brainer.

Although the OLED has a great screen, I still can't help but feel disappointed when the performance is still the same across the board compared to the other models. That's why I never had the urge to get this OLED model, especially since my day 1 Switch is moddable and mainly used in docked

Technically, all of the models are moddable. The V1 Switch is the only model that can have a full on Homebrew OS straight from boot, IIRC. V2, Lite, and OLED require the Homebrew OS to be accessed through the gallery, no?

The OLED's just all around a better experience. Build quality is better, the screen is *much* better, audio is a little better, the kickstand's a thousand times better than the lower priced's model... Worth 50$ more? Heck, yeah. That's been basically clear since the OLED's start, and it hasn't changed since then. People will be asking for a "next gen" Switch until the day Nintendo's next console actually arrives (and then they'll start talking about the one after that), but if you still haven't got a Switch, the OLED's clearly the one to get.

I've the OLED since day one. It was announced about the same time the Steam Deck was as I recall. I was excited and preordered both within the same week. Fast forward a year later... I still love it. The OLED model is a premium purchase, but the chassis is metal, not plastic, so that adds to the overall feel of quality with it. The screen looks fantastic and it's under glass, unlike the ISP screen that is under plastic. There's a few reasons the OLED is a great buy and a good upgrade if you're in the market. The 64gb internal storage upgrade is very nice too.
A lot of people are commenting that at this point, the Switch is underpowered and needs a revision. To that I say: the Switch is the same powerful device it was in 2017 and is therefore not underpowered, and those that believe it is, just have self imposed expectations they're driving into a device that has remained unchanged. The Switch is a great platform, form and function. The games library is so massive that I'll likely never finish the games I have, let alone keep up with the games that are constantly pouring out.
This is the first video I've seen of this nature, not to say it's the only one. I like what you touched on here. Good review and information that I would have used moving forward, were I in the market.
Oh, I went from playing about 60/40 handheld to about 95/5 handheld with the OLED. It's THAT good.

The Switch is great, but only with properly optimized and well coded games (looking at the most recent Pokemon game specifically).
What a lot of people forget is that the Switch is a handheld that happens to have connectivity to a television. It's never going to be as powerful as a PS4/5 or Xbox.
@@baldlyrudy That is correct. I have an Xbox Series S and I can't find a PS5 or I'd have that. I'm holding off until Christmas, giving my wife an opportunity to get me a Deck. Otherwise, I'll buy one myself. I like to tinker though. I built a RP console to play retro, I enjoy the idea of a handheld PC. For me, I enjoy gaming on the go as I am often on the go. The Deck looks like it can scratch a different itch, and for that I am excited, but I have a hard time believing it could compltely replace my Switch for what that offers me, just like my Xbox with Game Pass and streaming still can't give me everything I want. I'm an old school gamer, going on 40 next year, and I've been gaming my whole life. I have other things that fill my time, but I'd rather game than watch TV mindlessly.
We're in the same boat. I've been gaming since I was 5-ish. The Steam Deck will be perfect for you, especially with the EmuDeck. I've been introducing my son to titles from my childhood on it.
Also, kudos on the RP build. I'd like to get my hands on it and mess around with it to see what's possible.
@@baldlyrudy It was my first attempt at coding and working with Linux. The best part about Steam Deck vs a lot of other handheld PCs is the support. The SD is now mainline and a lot of people a lot smarter than me have made it do things and freely offer help in the form of videos.
The RP was a stressful few days to get it working right, but like you, I showed my children the cool games I grew up with on that system.
And that experience that you give your kids is enough to make it all worth it.
Just bought a switch pled a couple a weeks ago and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made breath of the wild and assassins creed black flag look beautiful and run amazing on it

I never bought an original switch, and I bought an oled 2 months ago as my first Nintendo console since the original wii.
I love it. I play it on my TV 90% of the time, and I can grab it and go for my business trips.
I got a 2 year no questions asked replacement policy on it for $79, so screw it... I take this baby everywhere on business trips.
Nothing like playing 3-man Golden Sun with everyone in the seat row on a 5 hour flight.
Absolutely love my OLED. It's the best way to game on the go, so I take it on business trips as well. Honestly, it's a great handheld experience.

I honestly love my OLED I’ll be at about a year and a half… roommate has the animal crossing and I can definitely notice an upgrade overall with the OLED. Seems sturdier and screen seems better to me… only thing I don’t like is the cartridge I feel like I have to be careful to not accidentally rip it off while switching games. Definitely worth it in my opinion overall tho!

To be honest, I'm not sure. The next Switch should be coming out this year (based on rumors.) But we haven't heard anything official from Nintendo. Take it as you will.

@Fedgelovesjaffas no worries man. If your Switch is your main platform, then it might be worth checking out the OLED then. But if you're alright waiting about 7-10 months, then I'd say wait. I really think the next one is coming out soon.

I'm just gonna bite the bullet and get one and assume if there is a new console coming they'll need to work out the kinks and there might not be a large library of games right away. There's still plenty to play between now and whenever those news come, might as well have it look nice~
I've been considering replacing my v1 switch with the new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet switch because 1, It's really cute, and 2, I just really want an upgrade from my original switch. I'm not sure if I'll keep my v1 so I can have another island for Animal Crossing, or if I'll sell it/ give it away. The Oled model is definitely an upgrade from the original, however I also know that it's not really too much of an upgrade other than battery life and the look and feel of the console. I'm probably going to ask it for Christmas if I do decide to keep my original switch, however I just wish there was more of an upgraded console. Hopefully we'll get more news about a future console soon :)

I have the switch Oled. I couldn't play the Nintendo Switch lite on tv. So I brought myself a B-day gift last month, Nintendo Switch OLED. It's worth every cent. Now waiting on the Nintendo give us a Next-Gen system.

the oled DEFINITELY has improved speaker. a lot more bass and less tingyness in high notes.
I don't know. I never got that feeling from it. It's a bit louder, but that's about it. I still prefer to play with headphones on.

I don't see what the issue would have been when it launched. Yes it cost a bit more than the original but it's a much better choice. And something ignored which is the ethernet is a major benefit. Because how will you ever plug ethernet into the original? No way would the original be a better option at the time of launch of this.
You could always get a USB Ethernet dongle and connect it to the original Switch Dock.

I like my switch lite so much! But in the Future i want to buy OLED because it's more handheld focus. I like handheld gaming People Bash switch because they think it's underpowerd . I say can u play your ps5 on a bus??? Can u play your Xbox and PS5 without having internet ? NO ! So switch wins!!! You buy a game you can play it in the game store iff you want. Or on the curb of the store !! Ps5 Xbox you gotta go home! And have internet to play your physical disc so in 20years PS and Xbox is gonna be useless in 20 years you can still use your switch!!!

I understand, I really do. But you guys have searched for something far and wide looking for an issues and besides minor things that are fixable. This thing checks out as the most genuine console that's the funnest for the past two generations of console. Yes BLOGGERs and pod cast makers I know it's hard to believe but this is the funnest console. This is 2023 Holiday console to get.
I dont see how the nintendo switch is worth $350 and then a $35 yearly subscription just to actually use the device. I have it and i wish i never did. 😅 maybe it wasnt just for me. It doesnt have any good games besides mario, elf game and basic games. But you live and learn what and what not to buy next time. Thank you for the vid.

I love my switch OLED, yeah it’s not the hardware upgrade that a lot of people wanted, but the screen is amazing. It makes the bass OG switch look like a toy in comparison.
Yes, sir, the best without argument the best console designed by Nintendo. I never had the launch version but I did get the animal crossing limited edition because it had an improved screen over the warm wash yellow tones of the first edition LCD panel and it also came with a good looking white dock. And it's designed in the front. Now if you compare all three of them the first version with version 2 and the OLED model there is a huge difference for all my Zelda fans out there. That's the game that'll show you the biggest difference because just look at breath of the wild and tears of the Kingdom as you are Galloping in your horse look at the environment and how vibrant and gorgeous the colors pop out. Other than that, everything is the same. The only changes are built quality in the tablet and a Better Built dock station and the joycons at least mine haven't had any drift. I did wait to buy the OLED and got the Splatoon 3 limited edition. And when the Zelda one was announced I actually bought that one too in my opinion needs to are the best ones they have ever released in the OLED model.

People freaking out about drift fixed I got my og switch in 2020 and the stick will not click in on one of the sticks but both have never gotten drift and they have been sitting on my shelf collecting dust for 1 year. My other ones that I bought after oled released drifted within 1 month so I whent back to the undrifting broken ones

Thanks, I just picked up an OLED and Zelda along with Mario car 8. I love the screen the build, the kick stand. Didn't realize though Nintendo took away free to play online for a paid subscription.
You're welcome! The OLED's screen is phenomenal. The kickstand is also a big win in my eyes. Nintendo going to a subscription model for online was odd, but I think it was eventually inevitable.

Technically, it should be able to play them. The issue is storage, I think. The GameCube games are GBs, where as N64 games are MBs.
Only thing I don’t like about it is the green tint issue on the left side of my screen. I’ve had 2 of them and they’ve both had the issue. Other than that, the screen is beautiful and big.

I love the size of the OLED screen, but I had to return it because the pixels were so much more noticeable on the bigger screen compared to the smaller one 😢 they should have increased the PPI, but maybe they will for the next gen. That’s what I’m waiting for now
Yeah. That's why images look so good on the Switch Lite. It's smaller and the overall look seems cleaner. The image being produced is the same though.
Oh, hell no!!!! I was set on buying Zelda Oled. Then I absolutely decided on splatoon Oled but after your comment, I don’t think I’ll bother now. I did hear others say that pixels are more noticeable on Oled but others said if you have brightness about 60% should be fine. Is it really that bad on all games? Just don’t make sense to release Oled if it looks horrible. So we have brighter screen but worse image? That absolutely sucks. Why isn’t everyone complaining about this? Could it be a panel lottery, with switch Oled? This news sucks😢
