I literally wasn't sure of how to approach the exit, it felt so enclosed and I couldn't see shit because I was rotating with the belly of the plane towards the outer walls to better shoot the repeaters. I used a pretty agile F22 but still I was either too fast or too bad at manouvering with the keyboard. It's been easier to shoot down the two drones themselves, I hit a roll where they manouvered like shit at first try and took em down one by one.
man i just finished the game and this section was a pain in the ass, and i was flying the CFA-44 Nosferatu. Taking out the drone isn’t the challenge, its the limited area for maneuverability and the straight ascent through the space elevator.
Several tries? Taken me at least 3 hours so far using about 6 different planes. Already broken a controller trying to climb the top of the space elevator.
Man, I have lost count on just how many times I have crashed during that final segment. Trying to weasel into that narrow passage is like threading a needle. And then if you happen to bump into anything on the way it might send you bouncing around like a pinball completely out of control.

I used the F-14 for the entire game except the defense of Stonehenge where I needed more ammo. It was good enough for everything.

Ahh, nothing can be compared to AC3. What it managed to do, how scary or alone it feels in that tunnel mission and even the music explains it well.

Some control worse than others, but no it's not the jet. A lot of people have trouble ascending the windbreak tower, just take it slow, you'll get it.
