People tell me the this game's story is non-existent. LOL. Great video man. Now I'm questioning... On my first playthrough, I refused his hands, because my guts tell me to refuse. Partly I was afraid I had to fight Lily and kill her. I care about Lily more than Adam. But everyone is saying taking his hand leads to the best ending... I think a lot people think taking Adam's hand is the good ending because the game makes it feel like it's the best ending, with Lily inserting the last hyper cell, and everyone's happy in Xion. Hmmmmmm...... Bottomline is : Can't wait for the sequel !! Again ! Great video !!

Do you have to be so unforgivably mean & cruel to Adam? He had good intensions as we see in the "Save Xion & Fuck Mother Sphere" Ending [That's what I choose to call it] with Lily surviving, of course! We see that he was true to his word and Eve is still the same person even after the fusion.

One thing is that I wonder if Raven attacking Xion was part of this plan. He definitely meant for Eve to fight her and take her Alpha Core, but I think he meant that to be her last core instead of Oracle, not expecting the Demogorgon core to be lost in space. Plus sinse she attacked and defeated Oracle, her rampage could have jeperdized the Cradle. But I think he left to go deal with it, then decided that her ramage would be a good way for Eve to get her core anyway, and even if Raven jepordized the Cradle, it was a setback that could be rectified later.

I think that the mother's sphere is the next antagonist Eve going to confront

Biblical references. Adam and Eve. If everything you said here tracks, then I guess if he was named Lucifer, it would've been too obvious. Either way, the PC port can't come soon enough.

You make a strong argument but what about the fact the Mother Sphere turned on humans? I always interpreted it as merging with Adam was the lesser of two evils because Eve gained the power of the Elder but kept her own self in the process. At that point she’s powerful enough to bring down mother sphere and cleanse the earth of naytibas and restart the next evolution of humanity. Now I’m not so sure. I think the writers need to release some additional lore so with can know because I loved the story to Stellar Blade and would like to have some solid closure on it.

I think it's still the good option to fuse with adam. EVE has the possibility of not being a POS with her new gained power. The new emotions she felt prove that andros aren't human enough to kill off all human remnants. EVE could be the right person to take Adam's spot, he's gone either way so why not let someone with better motives take over.

I still can't outright support Mother Sphere ambitions either. The true catalyst behind the initial war between humanity & the Andro-Eidos is still a mystery. Her continuous suppression of information pertaining to the truth is very much intentional, and seemingly designed to drive EVE to complete the EVE Protocol. Fusion brings about that completion, but the reason behind that necessity is an even greater concern.

So there are the two endings, choose his hand or not, fuse with him or not, which i feel has some darker unshown side effects. Eve feels fine, but i think that's because Adam is taking a backseat but will eventually fight her for control of the body. Adam is a naytiba right so he's bad, so while yes, Eve is told to hunt naytibas by mother sphere, i think the best ending is Eve breaking free from both Mother Sphere and Adam. I think Adam was just trying to save his own ass at the end so he was like, "Fuse with me, and you technically kill the elder naytiba". Eve standing on the globe at Xion is also like she's acting like a megalomaniac God. Im working my way to do my third ending of below 70% Lily progress. Also what's your understanding of the end credits saying " their journey continues " when you join Adam and "the journey for truth continues" when you kill adam? Also you get the symbol of legacy for choosing Adam, the earring says "A seed of the new mankind to come, and the harbinger of salvation for all". Hmm. Maybe. What if Adam is a changed man, and he HAD to lie to Eve, because I mean she was obedient to mother sphere, so he had to lie to get her to see the truth of things. I mean yeah he brought it upon himself and humanity but if the game is insinuating he relinquishes control to Eve when they fuse then cool but if he's still in Eve subconsciously or consciously it could be bad.

I knew mothersphere was evil after reading some texts and propaganda posters in xion. And the scene where raven told the truth about mothersphere this makes everyone shocked even Lily. I got a guy feeling that they're evil from the start.

My first playthrough reading everything and paying attention to the story, when Adam asked Eve to take his hand, I said, "Oh fuck no!" out loud. My gut told me everything about him was wrong. I'm curious to see where the story goes from here. This is easily my game of the year.

30:26 I know I praised this video earlier, but after finally doing the take Adam's hand ending, I do have a criticism with this section right here. You shouldn't insult people and think you're above them just because they didn't want to do hundreds of hours of research like you did. And I also believe that taking Adam's hand is not as bad as you portray it to be. You say that it's quote on quote "insane" that the majority of players think that taking Adam's hand is the good ending, but do you really believe this to be insane? Let me put this into perspective, the "Take Adam's Hand Ending" is portrayed as the most grand and hype ending in the game. It is also an ending where EVE comes back to Xion AS HERSELF (Not Adam because there is absolutely zero proof that ANY of Adam's character traits got infused into EVE's personality, in fact, the game actually has EVE deny this by saying that it's still her) and is portrayed as a hero in the end that fights for peace. Secondly, EVE taking Adam's hand IS NOT an admission from EVE that she fully agrees with his perspective, in fact, she contradicts his words WHILE deciding to take his hand. Adam says that EVE doesn't have human DNA meaning that she cannot succeed as a species, this is a terrible mindset, but EVE WHILE TAKING HIS HAND disagrees with this notion. She implies that the Andro-Eidos and Naytiba are no more human than the other, meaning that she believes they are equals and that they both have the right to live. This means that EVE taking Adam's hand is ONLY for the sake of saving both species, NOT because she agrees with his superiority mindset. I think that overall, both endings portray positive themes despite how evil Adam was. I think your mistake here is saying the "majority" of players because think about it, the average player did NOT put in hundreds of hours of research like you did, you can't just insult people for not knowing Adam's full past, especially when reading his past is ENTIRELY optional.

Oooooh my god am such a stupid Like finishing the game 2 times and didn’t even notice he is that bad and lying!!!!!! Whaaat the heeeeellllll Am in my third finish as am going to the orbit tomorrow am not gonna take his hand if that makes any difference I just thought that keeping everyone alive is the good ending i never read lores so that was stupid from me

While I do agree Adam is evil and has done a lot of evil things, To me it still doesn't really devalue the secret ending where you "side" with Adam. This is because while Adam created the Naytiba, Mother Sphere is the reason why they were created in the first place because she deemed the human of flesh to be inferior. Mother Sphere seems to only want her creation (the Andro Eidos) to be the only humans similar to Adam and how he thinks the Andro Eidos can't replace the humans because of no human DNA. As another comment said " Like father like daughter" Adam and Mother Sphere are too much like for either one of them to stay. Mother Sphere literally has a God complex too since she has the Andro Eidos call her their God, and purposely hides information because she doesn't want any of her creations to defect. So how I see the "Return to the Colony" ending and the Secret ending, is that in the "Return to the Colony" ending you're inherently letting an AI version of Adam complete their mission of wiping out all of the Naytiba which were once human with a lot of them being turned against their will (which I don't like because I don't believe a species as to die for another to thrive.) In the Secret ending, I wouldn't say it's exactly siding with Adam because it's not like Eve and Adam share the same brain when fused it is pretty clear that Eve gets to keep her consciousness while gaining Adam's DNA and powers. Why I think the Secret ending is better because at the end of the day, Adam is gone and Mother Sphere will also be gone (seeing how she's now making herself Eve's enemy for picking a fight) which means that humanity will have a blank slate to start over especially seeing how it was inferred that since Eve is living proof that a Naytiba and Andro Eidos can become one and not give into their primal instinct to kill, what will most likely happen is that Eve will find a way to fuse other Naytiba and Andro Eidos while eliminating the instinct to kill, creating one species where both can live.

The real argument should be, why are you using the wrong metrics haha

I used to think that fusing with Adam was an allegory for the theme of collaborating with each other instead of perpetuating war, but I never stopped to really listen to what he was saying. Saying things like "we cannot coexist unless we fuse" and "you will fail because you don't have human DNA" is just wrong and perpetuates the idea that one group is superior over the other, which is absolutely faithless and is a mindset that only encourages more conflict to happen. I am now convinced that the ending where you defeat the Elder Naytiba is the one that portrays the theme of collaboration and being anti-war the best. The fact that EVE, despite knowing what Mother Sphere has done, was willing to collaborate, ask questions, and try to come to an understanding rather than antagonizing her right off the bat is proof of this. I know many of us are used to video game tropes at this point as far as good and bad guys but even 1 hour into playing this game if you look at it blind it is far too coincidental for Adam to just happen to be around to help Eve. As far as some people thinking he is really trying to change I certainly can not trust him after everything we find in data logs but I would not say its not possible. Just EXTREMELY not probable. Even if he is trying to legit change for the better, his old ways are still corrupting him to do terrible things. After taking quite a while to read all the data logs, given what we know about the world of Stellar Blade not really having a true god in their universe at this point I do not see how it is possible that he has been convicted enough to try to genuinely change while still being that wicked with the other things he has done in the past years after humanity had to go into hiding. I refuse to believe someone with any moral compass would make such evil decisions to survive and not come up with a better solution. He really is a power hungry manipulator. My first playthrough even when I was not piecing everything together and remembering every data log I still did not trust him. Only reason I took his hand twice was for the Platinum trophy. From what I understand, many people agree on taking Adams hand and saving Lilly to be the true ending. If that is true it makes me interested in how Shiftup will continue the story. If we are right and Adam really is this manipulative, I do not see him just sacrificing himself and disappear from existence when Eve fused with him. I would not be surprised if he had a plan for him to take over Eve's body at some point in the second game after she does certain things. How much of a twist would that be if we were playing the sequel with no direct mention of Adam other than his "sacrifice" being mentioned a time or two and then near the end of the game something happens and he takes over Eve to try to world dominate once more. You did a great job pointing out a lot of Adams flaws and this video was quite interesting. Well done Grisly Grizz. Do you really believe Eve can survive Mother Sphere on her home ground? Lets first answer a question: For the entire game, how many times did you die and revive at camp? Do you think Mother Sphere will be nice enough to let you set up a camp (which you might not even have the ability to do so as those were all set up by prior squads) to revive after you fail to pass lets say a tunnel with fifty turrets? Do you think Mother Sphere will be nice enough to not direct her minions to attack and keep attacking you just to grind down your potions? Do you think Mother Sphere will be nice enough to provide you with ammo points as well as purchases of WB pumps, grenades, etc? This is not considering whether Mother Sphere has a stock of Providence suits just waiting to use the insta-kill while you're trying to shoot 6 wings per suit before they get it off. Once she lands at the colony, she is dead. She is NOT in fusion form where you could at least say she has no health bar, she is just another andro-edios, though upgraded and has a HEALTH BAR. As for trusting Raven, no one just trusts her words. The actions of Mother Sphere speaks for themselves. Mother Sphere doctrine, dropping colony modules, refusing connection and the biggest and most obvious. Trying to kill Eve in the other 2 endings No one thinks Adam is some angel, like Raven mentioned, Eve is just a pawn on a twisted chessboard and only Adam's road gives her a chance of existing even though he might still be in some corner of her mind

Bro really just ruined the secret ending for me but in a good enlightening way. This video made me appreciate the game's story a lot more because I guess like other people I was just swept up by Adam's sweet talking and should have payed more attention to the written logs and Adam's sus behaviour.

Well, taking Adam’s hand *is* the only way to acquire the fourth Hyper Cell. As long as Lily survives, she returns it to the Fusion Drive and enables everyone who “slept” in the Cradle (whether voluntarily or by force) to wake, essentially restoring Xion. So yeah, that’s the good ending. It’s also silly to think EVE will have any semblance of control when confronting Mother Sphere in the alternate scenario, either. MS is the true god in that world and she demonstrates the extent of her will when she remotely executes Luther just as he is on the cusp of discovering the actual truth.

Good analysis. I think that Adam is trying to right his wrongs, but only in the way that an irredeemable person would. Otherwise, he wouldn't be willing to sacrifice himself- he wants to pass on his overwhelming guilt, so it is still a selfish goal. UA-camr Dave Cullen did an analysis on the live action Ghost in the Shell recently, and it adds insight to this really well. Humans playing God by changing things which ought not to be changed with the hubris of 'upgrading' them, ultimately destroy the beauty and essence of such things. I would say that while beauty and essence linger on in the andro-eidos and naytiba respectively, neither one is human. One is a trace, and the other a shadow. Andro-eidos are programmed to behave like humans, and if all we are defined by are our emotions and memories, then humans can be reduced to memory sticks as andro-eidos often are... I also got the 'bad' ending. But I wish there was a plot thread introducing the hope of reviving humanity, despite all Raphael and co did to destroy it.

I’ve seen all 3 endings of this game but every time I played after that I still choose taking Adam’s hand for many reasons. 1 my eyes of course were closed at the time so I was always “Team Adam” 2 strangely fighting the “Providence” boss in a way easier especially since I wasn’t very familiar with the “ Elder Naytiba” attack patterns and 3 because of my ignorance I really grew to hate “Mother Sphere”…but I’ve been in that “Boss Challenge” practicing those patterns. I’m pretty familiar with the “Elder Naytiba” now. I can’t wait to get home from work Sunday night so I can finish my playthrough which Ive been working on constantly kill this guy moving forward. “Mother Sphere” maybe a psycho AI bitch but this degenerate of a character “Adam” “Raphael Marks” whatever he wants to fucking call himself made this AI and it’s time for him to die. This is a great video that I think every person who finishes Stellar Blade should watch just to get insight on all the collectibles and deeper lore in the Stellar Blade Universe. It really shows just how manipulative, awful, and downright evil Adam/Raphael Marks/The Elder Naytiba really is, and why killing him is easily the best route for Eve and Lily.

As a person who never read the memorysticks and stuff, just thinking of it as noise. This really expands my view...Now I hate Adam...Or should I say Raphael marks.

Youve given a pretty compelling argument, the story is deeper than I thought. I just rolled with the overt narrative of Mother sphere being the main bad guy. Knowing what I do now, I dont have much hope for the sequel's story being able to wrap all this up in a satisfactory way. Im calling it now, we're going to have some retcons and a bunch of story swept under the rug.

Why did Eve not kill Raven in their fight ? After all she has done

Bro really hate Adam for no reason, lol. You should know that mother sphere didn't care about anyone in the final wars. Only few selects get to the colony which called heavens royalty, the rest were left to die. Adam no longer interested in destroying them all, since he isn't a maniac. He just want an equilibrium between machines and humans, as he intended to be when he created MS. And since the andro eidos lose faith to MS, Adam rescued them all including his first weapon, Orcal, and let them live in Xion. Notice how he try to separate Naytiba from Andros? That's the furthest plan he can do for now, that's why he need Eve as the bridge between them both. He ain't care to play god. He hides from everyone. Xion hates the elder since they thought he is the main enemy, and the lesser the Naytiba, the senseless they will be, meaning, Adam can't interact with them, they all pure rage and instinct. He can't control anyone. His only followers were just Orcal and Raven. He isn't trying to play god, he just want to repopulate the earth while removing MS influence from anyone. Also, it is implied that there are more Alphas than we know. Orcal directed Eve to the closest one. You should also realize that our Eve is not the only Eve exist. Our Eve comes from the 7th squad, there are 6 Eve that has been killed before ours, 6 failed protocols including Raven and Lily's. The proofs is at Raven's costume, Eve's code is written on sternum part. It's either Raven killed the previous Eve, or she just take it from killed Eve. The Alphas killed by previous protocol should be reproduced by then

People who say "there is no story" are one thing, but the people who say the story "isn't well-written" are even worse because they never have anything constructive to add, or an instance they can cite where the story's narrative actually obstructs the progression of the narrative. It also doesn't help that people are very hot or cold in regards to the endings. I personally believe that Adam being the Devil as you describe, and this sinner seeking atonement that we are lead to believe, can both be true. He's a mad scientist and a genius at the end of the day, from the get-go he operated in extremes and then came face to face with human extinction from a being he created. From his perspective, he probably couldn't approach it in any other way. I think one undeniable gesture of his sincerity was when he gave Lily the hyper cell before EVE makes her choice. its also clear with the start of his boss fight that he is reluctant to actually fight her. He does so out of an obligation, and in that way, i think he does hold himself accountable by becoming the monster we set out to kill in the first place. Think of how some antagonists will double-down even when there's nothing left to gain or they've already been cornered. Their response is usually like, "I have to keep going, or it was all for nothing", despite knowing they're going to lose anyways. I view Adam's whole ordeal from that angle, it's a very all-or-nothing mindset that i think is extremely human and realistic for the type of person he is detailed as in the data logs, as well as how he's presented to us.

Good video overall, I left one disagreement in a reply to another comment in this video. But I wanted to add one defense for what you said about Raven not dying when her Alpha Core was removed, I think it's because her Alpha core was acting more as an amp of her abilities and that her body didn't rely on that to stay alive as opposed to the other Alpha Naytibas in the game. Her Naytiba appearance even acts as an outside skin protecting her Andro Eidos body inside, rather than completely fusing.

“Adam is not a good person” has been radical feminists rhetoric who hates men. Almost all of women players have had bad endings because of that.

Commenting a little early, but seeing as I already know the story, and paid attention in game. I think taking Adam's hand is the right choice. I don't believe in ending another species altogether, and seeing as the only other lifeforms we seem to see in-game are fish(MAYBE there were other animals), I don't think ending another species when co-existance is possible is such a bad thing. Adam is morally corrupt, if not evil, sure, and MS definitely a result of Adam, but only Adam risked co-existance. Also at 5:29 contextually Tachy and Eve are two people that 'grew' up together, and their existance was only to know battle. I think caling them a couple, might be a bit of a reach. It's a brother-in-arms kind of thing. In the 100% ending the Andro-eidos still exist despite Adam's distaste for them, and the Naytiba can possibly exist as well. Eve now has the ability to influence harmony. We also don't know what effect Adam's fusion with Eve.
