    The dodge rolling has goofy timing because you're fatrolling. And probably maidenless. If you lower your equipment load, you can do medium rolls. There's also light roll.

      I know they mean well by giving you starting "classes" but having the default loadout of a class fatroll without telling the user is just mean

      @@bepkororoti8019 I hated Dark Souls 1 the first time I played it for this exact reason lol. Picked the Knight class and was fatrolling everywhere, it was awful, I hardly made it past the asylum before determining that the game wasn't for me. Until I decided to restart with a class that had medium roll, then I began to understand, and now it's one of my all time favourite games.

      @@nyromath2195 yeah, totally understandable, FS always lacked in quality of life features where they seem to have the most detail driven visual and game design approaches. I guess it goes hand in hand with the overall goal of encouraging community exchange but somehow explaining what the basic things in your game mean for the player wouldn't go against that. You can tell they tried in Elden Ring but traditional tutorials are just not effective, people have been conditioned to ignore them as annoying when they really shouldn't if FS decides to actually explain something to you, ah well

      The fatrolling is easily fixed by checking your equip load on screen, but is peak Fromsoft trolling to not tell you about those consequences. I also learned this the hard way as my 1st Souls game. I just used every advantage game gave me my 1st playthrough to see what was possible with the tools they gave you.

    When Fia held you in her arms she gave you a Baldachin's Blessing, but removed a bit of your health. Just use the Baldachin's Blessing in your inventory and you'll get to full health again. Also unequip the weaker weapon and the crossbow to get your equip load down to medium load, so you can roll much better. Nice first episode. Cheers.

    Amazing start, already 50 times better than me starting out. I hope it's not overstepping to recommend anything and I won't make a habit of it, but as a small mechanical tip, jumping is a strong way to dodge things too. Everything waist down can't be hit when you jump, so it's great against stops or big sweep attacks.

    Your video came up in my suggested list today. Your reaction to that first backstab in the tutorial area is why I watch first play through videos after having about 1000 hours in the game. Looking forward to the rest.

    Just a tip for anyone new to Elden Ring. There is no “damage stat”. Damage is mostly influenced by your weapon. Their are two major ways of increasing the damage that your weapon does. The first and most influential is the weapon level. This increases the base damage and weapon scaling. The second is by leveling stats according to “attribute scaling”. When you hover over a weapon, there will be a section called “Attribute Scaling” where 5 stats will have a letter E, D, C, B, A, or S. Leveling a stat will increase the weapon damage according to the letter listed under Attribute Scaling. Another thing, when leveling, you will be able to see the change in damage of your equipped weapon leveling a stat will provide before confirming. Hope this is helpful to anyone who wants to understand the basics of how damage works in Elden Ring. :)

    It's a great game. Enjoy. There are a lot of Elden Ring guides on UA-cam if you struggle. I only started playing 2-3 months ago. Still on my way to Leyndell Royal Capital and Volcano Manor. I don't play every day because I have work and other chores. Play at your own pace.

    That was a fun one -- especially the spectacular destruction of chairs near the end. But more than chairs await you, so you may need even more skill for the challenges ahead. May fortune favor your journeys in the "Lands Between."

      @loopen Місяць тому +1

      Bad take. Vigor should be mainly prioritized at the beginning, but it's important to have dex and str for weapons like bloodhounds fang etc, alongside a bit of endurance.

    • @kosherun
      @kosherun Місяць тому

      @@loopen lol, you shouldn't level anything else but vigor at the beginning. STR and dex as much as only to hold your favorite weapon. Every other level point should be in vigor until you hit 40-45... And upgrade your weapons - that's it for the start. After that it's a different ballgame

    • @loopen
      @loopen Місяць тому

      @@kosherun Yes that’s what I mean, level str and dex for the weapon you like and get vigor to 40, and get the radagon soreseal. After 40 (45 from talisman) level up some other stats then get Vigor to 50-60. Then focus on everything else. That’s what I do.
      Also, who cares what she levels up, it’s her first time playing the game so long as she’s having fun it doesn’t really matter what she upgrades
