Being an old man I’ve been into cars since 1976 when I had a beat up 70 Camaro. I had a chance to buy a Integra type s for a bit under msrp . The way I can explain this car is that it feels like it’s carved out of a pc of billet . Coming from a Nd rf and a 2018 gt manual before the ND . Type S just feels right .
The auto mustang might appeal to more buyers in general and make it resell quickly, but it's less appealing for enthusiasts and it will lose out on being sold at a premium to the enthusiasts who want a manual. Remember, it doesn't matter how many people want an auto, it only takes one person to buy the car. It's the same issue with colors. Drab grayscale colors are easier to sell in theory, but buyers can just pick the lowest offer on the several thousand in that color. Get something bright and loud like green or red, less people will be interested but theres going to be someone REALLY excited to have that red and they'll have to come to you and your price point.
FYI, the NASCAR Cup Series cars since last year now use 5 speed sequential manual transaxles with IRS. And, on most of the ovals and of course the road/street courses, they shift on every lap. Just not on the fastest “superspeedway” tracks.
I prefer what Ram did in 2019, with real analog gauges and a customizable screen in between the gauges as well as a very clear high res 8” screen set lower in the center of the dash outside of the driver’s view (not distracting) but surrounded by physical switches and knobs for everything. I added a phone cradle beside the steering wheel for GPS/map directions so I didn’t have to look over to the screen while driving. Screens can be good if done right, but replacing everything with screens defeats the idea of keeping your eyes on the road and using tactile feel and memory to change things while driving.
What did you mean put the powertrain from the type R into the Integra? The Integra type S uses the same motor and transmission but makes slightly more power then the type R. And it's been out for nearly 2 years.
