The guy that played Mafia Boss Tony Taglialucci was involved with the mafia in real life. His real name is Frank Minucci and he was connected to the Gambino Family. He changed his life around, became religious and got into acting.
Also, the guy who played Pete Amedesso (the mafia guy with the big mustache and sunglasses) used to be a crook/gangster before acting. RIP Richard Foronjy.
I wish more reactors reacted to this movie because it's amazing, it tends to get overshadowed by "Scarface" and it being the more mainstream pop cultural known. Also, this will always be a criminally underrated movie. Al Pacino and Sean Penn are off the charts.
I gotta say.. I'm also a Puerto Rican from the Bronx. But. I'm no Benny Blanco. This is one of my favorite gangster movies, though. And yet? I often forget that it's one of my favorite gangster movies. It's so good, I even read the books the movie was based on and discovered that the author (Edwin Torres) was a total badass in real life. Look him up if you dare.
DePalma is the tail of 2 careers... those films you mentioned are incredible...all in a row... however after this he did films like mission to Mars and snake eyes which flopped. But he is great... you are right about that
they made a prequel to this guys hope yall watch it sometime its called carlitos way rise to power! its another actor playing carlito before he got locked up! mario van peebles and diddy are in it too.
I can recall seeing that movie at the time it came out and knowing nothing about it. Me and a few friends went to the theater and just picked that one only because it had Robert De Niro in it. We walked away shaken to the core.
Damn right R.I.P Brad Renfro. He was a Tennessee boy. From Knoxville.... I played lots of gigs down in Knoxville. He is one of Tennessee's "Boys" you know?
Great reaction guys! Some notes: --When you said "I think Tony Soprano sent him" - that was the actor that actually played Tony's dads lol (Johnny Boy Soprano) --If you want to see some great John Leguizamo movies from the 90s, check out "Hangin With the Homeboys" or "Executive Decision" --You guys always make me laugh. Thanks!
Jorge Porcel didn’t speak a word of English. The reason Saso looks so lost all the time is because he learned his lines phonetically and was just reproducing the sounds without knowing what he was actually saying. Now, that’s an actor. 💯
Love the reaction, guys as always!!! Btw , Gayle refers to Carlito as Charlie because Charles is English for Carlos or Carlito. 🇵🇷🇵🇷 appreciate you guys!
The first time I watched this movie i felt sorry for Carlito but now that im i older i realised this whole thing was his fault. He tried to go straight but went back to his old neighbourhood and hung out with the same gangsters who were still involved in crime when he was younger. He got 30k at the start thats like 300k in today's money he should've just gotten a normal job and married Gale. But all in all it was a fantastic movie
yes asia john leguizamo did play luigi in the mario movie! yall gotta watch his other movies! he did a movie called empire it was good and he played the clown in the spawn movie and he did a movie called the pest also.
Sean Penn's character Klienfeld is one of the most messed up characters I've seen. Carlitos loyalty was so misplaced and the route of all his problems. Should.have followed his own advice 'A favour will kill you faster than a bullet'
The guy who played Tony T's son who shot Sean Penn's character played Tony Soprano's father in an episode where there were flashbacks to when he was a kid!
The ending guts me every time! Carlito's final monologue. You're So Beautiful starts playing. Her dancing at the beach at sunset... then their child joins his mother dancing... 😭😭😭 One of my favorite movies. Please consider POETIC JUSTICE with Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur. Many blessings!! 🍿🥰🍿
As smarmy as we were supposed to think Benny was, he showed nothing but respect and deference to Carlito. In return Carlito was rude and arrogant and it caught up with him on the end.
“DONNIE BRASCO” (1997)….
It’s a must!! 🔥
fugetaboutit
@@dontletherspeak7575 Yes! 😂. It’s actually on tv right now ironically! Lol

He'll yeah. You're doing one of the underrated classics! Nobody does this. Thank you so much
"Heavy Duty, Heavy Duty!"
Agree, this is so underrated! It’s great!
For some strange reason this CLASSIC FILM RARELY gets reacted to.
Right?
This movie deserves much more respect.
I wish more reactors reacted to this movie because it's amazing, it tends to get overshadowed by "Scarface" and it being the more mainstream pop cultural known.
Also, this will always be a criminally underrated movie. Al Pacino and Sean Penn are off the charts.
Al Pacino is so versatile. He can play Italian, Cuban, and Puerto Rican. 😂
And Play the Devil !
He wouldn't be allowed to play those roles today.
@@MrPunkd113sure he would
@francisalbert1799 No he would NOT be allowed because he is not Hispanic
@@film-maniac why wouldn’t he be allowed? He did a great job. Your snowflake mentality is nauseating I’m done with you

The Italian son who shot Kleinfeld in his hospital bed... played Tony Sopranos's father, "Johnny boy" in the Sopranos series.
Dude plays a good mobster!!

Such an overlooked movie. When it comes to gangster movies needs needs more love.
ABSOLUTELY!!!!
Carlito's Way is my favorite gangster movie!!
Great reaction!!
Every time I watch I yell at the tv RUN CARLITO and I always hope one time he makes it 😢
44:44 Funny comment because that actor played Tony Soprano's father (Johnny Boy Soprano).
FUN FACT:
The mob guy Carlito talked to at the beginning is the Columbian guy from the chainsaw scene in Scarface.
Also the henchman that summoned Carlito was also Scarface's bodyguard.
"Give me the cash I kill you or your brother it makes no difference to me !"
" F you !"
Brian DePalma directed this, Scarface, Carrie, Blow Out and The Untouchables. He's an amazing director.
Yea. Great director. Sh!tty human.

Carlos means Charles in English

Juan is John in English

Didn’t watch the whole review yet…. but i worked at Blockbuster and this was 1 of the movies i always recommended. No complaints ever….🎉🎉

18:06 Charlie is the English way of saying Carlos. Miguel is Micheal, Jose is Joe. My grandpas name was Carlos but everyone called him Don Charlie
"Don't break my mirror; you gonna have to fix that." 😂
John Leguizamo did play Luigi, that was mad random for her to remember him from Super Mario brothers but she was right 😂
Asia's face in the thumbnail 🤣🤣🤣
Carlos/Carlito is Spanish for Charles.
Can't go wrong with Al Pacino
Heat is another great Pacino movie
Hoo wah!

BJ, I don't need to tell you this but of course when you are watching certain scenes with Asia choose your words carefully, lol

One of Pacino's best acting
That end scene with Penelope Ann Miller was outstanding made makes tear up every time great acting by her as well !
Good one saw it in the theater when it first came out back in November 1993
One of my all time fav films. Classic.
The first time I watched this movie i felt sorry for Carlito but now that im i older i realised this whole thing was his fault. He tried to go straight but went back to his old neighbourhood and hung out with the same gangsters who were still involved in crime when he was younger. It's his loyalty to old friends that did him in. Sometimes, you have to look after yourself instead of your friends.
LEGENDARY!!! One of my top 5 movies of alltime.
Great movie 🎥!! Al Pacino is the 🐐 of acting imo
This one time in Bandcamp was everything!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Luis Guzman is so underrated as an actor.
Asia is so beautiful, I love her laugh and her smile.

Also Sean Penn’s transformation as the lawyer the curly hair and round glasses …one of the best!

and history of violence! he was gangsta in that too.
But man he was great in Hidalgo!
His "heart beats forever " - through his unborn child...
By the way, today is the Director's birthday! So quite a happy coincidence!
Al Pacino was in the Godfather also. He played Michael.
Leguizamo plays the crazy hell clawn in the Spawn
Guys, I recommend Seven Samurai.
Hearing “In and out” in a mafia movie, is like hearing “I’ll be right back” in a horror movie. Or “This won’t hurt a bit” in a doctors office.
I loved Carlitos Way just as much as Scarface maybe more Im so glad you guys are finally gonna see it now!!!
Oh man, what a movie. I know this about to be a great watch with y'all. Pacino is the badass.
The foot chase in this movie, I think might be the second best of all time. Point Break has the best, I think. It's close.
'Scarface', this and ''Donnie Brasco' make for a great Pacino triple bill.
You two are my favorite people to watch on UA-cam
Thank you so much for watching and supporting our channel
21:15 believe it or not, that’s the guy that played Aragorn in Lord of the Rings.
WOW! What a great choice - again. A truly exceptional Movie. Terrific performances by Pacino and especially Penn. So emotional at the end.👌❤️

My 3rd favorite movie of all time and the other 2 are also Al Pacino movies! #1 Scarface and #2 Godfather 1 & 2

My fav movie of all time ! There should be more reactions to this movie .
You guys should watch Carlito’s Way to rise to power it’s pretty good. It’s the prequel.
"ok I'm reloaded" and a lot of Carlito's dialogue was used by Jayz on the 1999 "Life And Times Of S. Carter" album
Even in "Reasonable Doubt" (1996) before the track "Can't Knock the Huste" starts.
So many great small parts. Viggo and Luis are legends.
Wind River (2017) is amazing, y’all gotta review that!!
He was definitely Luigi! 😂😂😂
"LAYER CAKE" the Carlito of England great movie
The guy who played Tony T's son who shot Sean Penn's character played Tony Soprano's father in an episode where there were flashbacks to when he was a kid!
John leguizamo also plays the clown in Spawn and he plays the garage owner or chop shop in John Wick.

The lady dancing in the club when he begins thinking about Gail is a different woman. Her resemblance reminds him of Gail.
One of my fave films ever. Sean penn's wig alone...
Jay Z used the "im reloaded" as an intro to one of his albums i believe
John Leguizamo was in Mario Bros., The pest, John Wick 1&2, and The happening. As well as other films
