So proud to see F-35 JSF flying for our British brothers! The refuelling thing is remarkable too. And they had to do that probably 3 times to get from SC to UK. Well done!
5-plus hrs in a cockpit. Got to be incredibly difficult. Hats off.
9 of 138 F35B's keep em coming..
@Bessie Hillum They won't be buying any other varient..
The bright grey circle on the side is where the telescopic kettle comes out. Only the British version has that.
I watched it few more times and I think it's Lens Flare, or a reflection from the jets canopy.
I want one
That's 9 going up nicely.
Nice video quality.

I saw it too.
Never thought about it before but I've not seen an F-35 B model land conventionally without the lift fan door and auxiliaries open, can it land conventionally?
I don't see the point of SVRL on a 6,000 ft piece of concrete .
Saves maintenance on the brakes and tires, landing at lower speeds with the lift fan.
But the Lift Fan would use up more hours of use along with more operating cycles for the doors etc. Tyre's are cheaper than Lift fans. The question I asked was can it land without the lift fan conventionally?
I'm sure the RAF prefair landing like that for a reason their engineers have done the math. I think the brakes and tires will need swoping out long before the fan needs to be replaced. It's a time to be ready again thing also.
They have to SVRL for carrier ops since the F-35 B will be a joint force, RN/RAF so its good practice I guess, I just wanted to know whether the B model is technically capable of doing conventional landings out of curiosity. Thanks for your time.
Pablo Jay it can land conventionally yes. As has been mentioned this method of landing reduces wear on brakes and tyres.
Legit question. Do planes fly to their destination or do they get transported on boats?
Jonathan Duffield 9 hours in a single seat combat jet. And ALOT of air to air refuelling.
19 seconds.... what is that?
SpecOpsJimmy It's the Panther's cockpit reflection.
No need for F-35 with open borders policy!
God bless Global Britain :=).
