Cartridge Filter Clean

In this #shorts video I will show how to clean a Jandy Cartridge Filter, Model CL580. The filter cartridges are “aftermarket” cartridges from Pleatco. I decided to use Pleatco cartridges, model PJAN145, after doing my own research.
Caution: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN YOUR FILTER WITHOUT FIRST CONSULTING A PROFESSIONAL SWIMMING POOL TECHNICIAN.
Tools:
- Pleatco Cleaning tablets. (1 tablet cleans 2 filter cartridges) - These are not required, but I found they do help remove debris from cartridges. See Pleatco website for further information www.pleatco.co...
- “Leslie’s” Pool and Spa Lube
- Rubber Gloves
- Adjustable Spray Hose Nozzle
- Safety Glasses

Cleaning Filters are a 3 step process . We just rinsed , soaked in cleaner for 8 hours , soaked in large trash can w water & 1 jug of muriatic acid, re-rinsed . 100 % cleaned of all oils , dirt , pollen , phosphate & algae.

This is actually bad for the plastic ends of the filter to acid soak them. They loosen and expand... But also useful.. Must weight in the life of the filter.

You don’t need the cleaner. Just spray it with the hose. same result.

The longer the pump is off cuz your taking hours to clean a filter the more green the pool will get ool
