- In this video I will show how to clean a Jandy Cartridge Filter, Model CL580. The filter cartridges are “aftermarket” cartridges from Pleatco. I decided to use Pleatco cartridges, model PJAN145, after doing my own research. They are also far less expensive than the Jandy/Zodiac OEM cartridges R0357900.
I will have a follow up video on the “long term” results and reliability for the Pleatco cartridges.
Caution: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN YOUR FILTER WITHOUT FIRST CONSULTING A PROFESSIONAL SWIMMING POOL TECHNICIAN.
Tools:
Paper Towels
9/16” Socket with ½” drive ratchet (preferred) but 3/8” drive will work
Pleatco Cleaning tablets. (1 tablet cleans 2 filter cartridges) - These are not required, but I found they do help remove debris from cartridges. See Pleatco website for further information www.pleatco.co...
“Leslie’s” Pool and Spa Lube
Tooth Brush
Rubber Gloves
Adjustable Spray Hose Nozzle
Safety Glasses

Nice video
thank you
so funny! exactly what I do. only i use just qt of bleach and simple green
Our drain cover is leaking after doing our filter cleaning. Any ideas?
O”ring probably isn’t making a good seal maybe is time for a new one. Search: filter brand, model n/ and drain o” ring and most likely will find what you need.
I cut my finger on the o ring groove. There’s metal there. Be careful.
How often should this be done?
Usually 2 to 3 times a season. A good rule of thumb is to clean the filters when the pressure gauge reads 7-10 PSI higher than when the filters were new. Hope this helps
