- Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 Late 2018 needs a refresh... Like a BIG overhaul... But Samsung seems too busy, focused on the TAB S line to compete with the iPad Pro...

I am using Tab A 10.5 for more than 1 month..... average tab i like it ....well don't judge with expensive phone.....
If you want to compare with iPad, compare with tab s4. Tab a series is a mid-range at best. You gotta pay to play.
Oohhh, I agree completely with you, which is why the $350 bucks price tag with a discount is a bit jarring to me, as the current iPads are like $330.
I am looking to upgrade from a lg vk810 but look like I have to sell my soul to apple but it is 230 bucks right now
Where do I get the the keyboard case to use the dock on the tablet
I'd suspect from Samsung directly... There are probably 3rd party ones, but you'd need to check for keyboard case for Samsung TAB A 10.5.
I cant play eoblox its so laggy on galaxy tab A 10.5a
Last question, should I get a m5 lite or a galaxy tab a 2019 (for gaming ofc)
Ohhh dude, thats a tough one... I havent tested the m5 lite, so anything I say wouldn't be very "scientific". ;/
@@TechHyped Oh okay no problem
Were you able to look at the tab A 2019 version, is that one performing better?
Not yet. They should be, tho, but I didn't get to test them.
@@TechHyped the 10.5 is on sale for 159 euro right now I am tempted since I only browse use messangers and audible/spotify.
@@Kelthis Humm... I understand the browsing part, but for the other uses, I wouldn't exactly say you need a tablet for.
For browsing the web, if you really want a Tablet, at that price it doesn't seem like such a bad deal, considering you don't get any weird performance issues, but do you really think having another gadget, aside from your phone, would be usefull/worth spending 160 euro for?... Just asking hehe ;)
Watching on ITV right now
Then there is NO problem. But it WILL lag playing PUBG and graphic intense games. Typing this on it right now!
Go for the 4gb RAM 2019 version.
hi i really want this tablet because my friend has it and it looks like it works well but it doesnt have pen support and i dont want to end up getting a bootleg stylus also i dont know if i should get the 5e the s4 or this one because i want a big screen for illustration and pen support because i cant draw with my chunky fingers lol
If you wanna draw with a tablet, using one that doesn't have pen support doesn't make much sense.
My experience with this tablet was definitely not one I'd recommend tho, even if it had support ;/
@@TechHyped its fine lol i chose to get the 6 its all i need and i guess ebay is my best choice since its og price is like £600 (for me in the uk)
I ran hearthstone and runs very fine and fast, i dont know if its because the latest update fix it, but works sweet. btw, i already subscribed to your channel. you are an intelligent person.
Thanks dude! Glad you're on the team 😁
As for the TAB, I hope software updates did fix them, but I'm still owing myself to test the new S ones too.
Cheers!
Want a tablet for drawing don't really care about a pen being pressure sensitive.
Looking at a used iPad 9.7 2018 w case and apple pencil 350$ off ebay
s3 w s pen $350 ebay
or a completely cheaper version the Samsung tab a 10.1 2019 w no s pen and get case and a diff stylus w a case.
Or acer spin 11 chromebook which comes w a pen which is also about $300. I'm looking at so many reviews for tablets or 2 in 1 tablets. Need help I just want a tablet to draw, watch movies and listen to music. More budget options would be helpful anything you recommend w 10 inch screen?
I love when people actually know what they want from a product. It may seem to make things more difficult, but its so much easier to narrow down options, right?!
Anyway, I'd say drawing is definitely something that will benefit from having a seamless and fluid experience. Anything weird and choppy I feel like will most likely give you headaches and leave you angry haha.
The raw performance matters but not as much as the fluidness of the response from the panel and the stylus/pens connection/integration.
Anyway, from all those options, I feel like the 2018 iPad will have the better experience... Maybe something from the Surface line could be better, or at least very close.
@@TechHyped thank you for your quick reply. I'll definitely be considering an iPad if find for a good price. It's just the ipad, pencil and case are still a lot over 300$ but if it'll last more than two years. A chromebook only lasts up to three years at least the acer spin 11 that I was looking at where it won't receive updates.
Should I get a 10.5 2018 or a 10.1 2019 for gaming??? 😫
Well, NOT the 10.5.... ;D
@@TechHyped tysm
@@zanthox5831 my pleasure!
Does it work with S Pen (s4) ?
Not entirely sure. It should tho!
I have one and it's great! No lag whatsoever. I don't game on mobile at all so I can't say how it would perform but it does everything I've thrown at it with no issues. Maybe you got a bad one?
Oh, I don't put it past me that I had a bad one to test... I actually kind of hope so, but I wasn't harsh for harshness' sake... You saw how long it took it to open Hearthstone, right?! Other heavy-ish applications aside from games didn't fare better either, but I still kind of hope it was a bad unit ;/
@@TechHyped yeah I saw. After I typed my reply I installed a couple games just for curiosity sake. It doesn't open games as fast as my note 9 but I didn't have nearly the lag that you did in your video. Definitely not a power house but i love it.
@@kevinbuhler8776 Oh, as long as it does what you need it to, I guess you can't really ask for much more, right?! ;D
Sometimes tech-heads tend to get caught up in the SPECS AND POWAAAH struggle, and I usually try to calm back down and look for the longevity of whatever device you're putting your money down for. Not being a powerhouse means it won't last for ages, but it doesn't necessarily need to, depending on how and what you use it for.
Anyway, I'm super glad it serves you well! =]
@@TechHyped I installed Hearthstone to compare. The first time I opened it took a very long time but only because it had to download and install updates. After that i timed it. From a restarted tablet it took 32 seconds from from when I clicked the app to when i could start playing. Anyway, I really liked your video, it made me take a closer look at the performance and value.
This tab is on sale for $250 at best buy. I'm a Android user so I don't want a ipad so at that price point is there another Android tab that is better then this one? I have all my time and money invested in Google play store games and apps
/edit: now I'm thinking of putting out a extra $148 to get the s5e
The S line from Samsung is apparently the only ones reeeally worth it... Not perfect, but much beefier than these hehe
And for $250, I wouldn't have been so harsh haha
Should i get it for many apps?
Light usage might be OK, but I'm not sure it'll perform like SUPER well for heavy multitasking. If the price difference is VERY big between this one and the 2019 version or anything else from the S line (or maybe a competitor iPad), then go for it. Otherwise, maybe it'll be best to just save up a little bit more and grab a newer model. ;)
Did you think about rooting the samsung galaxy tab A 10.5? If you do root the samsung galaxy tab A 10.5 let me know how to do so by making a video of it.
Didn’t think about it, aaaand I had to return it to Samsung, so no clue haha. I’ll try it tho ;)
@@TechHyped and have you ever rooted the samsung galaxy tab S? My friend has one of them that he wants to root.
@@scotthanson9066 Nope, never rooted a tablet before. I've done that with a couple of older Android phones, but its been 4 years (I think) since I've last done it ;/
@@TechHyped well if you do that with the galaxy S or the galaxy A will you do videos of it? I can't find any videos of anyone doing that for me or my friend.
Would you give the tab s3 a try and let me know if these issues are on it also love your vids
Sure thing! And thanks haha! Glad you enjoy the vids ;)
Can dex be used on it
Far as I know: nope
Mine is doesnt have this problems
Hi buddy i m ur new subscriber...is this tablet good for students ? How's storage ?
Hi there! Welcome aboard ;)
Well, basic tasks is what this tablet is made for... Anything more demanding is a mixed bag. My experience with it hasn't been a good one.
Storage is a bit limited tho, as I think you can't get it with more than 32gb of internal storage right now, but it does support MicroSD as well.
@@TechHyped thanks for the rply...luv frm India ❤
You're welcome buddy! Much appreciated! ;D
off subject lol but I love your mouse! Where can I buy it?
Hahaha... Its a Razer Lancehead Tournament in mercury.
There's a link to all the gear I use in the description ;)
@@TechHyped hehe thank you :)
@@oth025 my pleasure ;)
Your thumbnalls look so good
Why thank you! Most times I absolutely hate them... hahaha
You should Review the huawei mediapad m5 pro
Noted! Adding to the to-do list! ;)
M5 shit many bugs, like Bluetooth not working when wifi on and etc.
Tab10.5 is good for MEDIA ....NOT for gaming...
I fully agree with you... The main problem is that at least 1 other tablet in the same price range can do media better, and has enough power to push some games and heavier applications.
If it wasn't for that, I'd have no qualms with the performance issues in the 10.5. ;/
you must have got a bad test model because mine is faster than my ipad pro your review id of a faulty evice for sure. i use one instead of my ipad. And i paid 280$
Can it run PUBG Mobile and Standoff2?
Not sure about Standoff2, but PubGM yes, on the lowest settings and as long as you're veeeery patient for it to load in the first place hehe
@@TechHyped then I feel i should go with the Ipad 9.7 inch. which is the same price with incredibly higher performance.
@@patrickivthrowaway7266 I'm NOT a fan of sooooo much of what Apple does, but the performance in the new chips they've been putting out for the past couple of years is seriously out of the curve.
Not like the 9.7 iPad is as powerfull as the Pro, but it's still considerably better than this baby ;/
@@TechHyped I understand. I did really like Apple either. I'm only considering that root because no other $250 tablet do later to the 9.7 inches power.
Wow, I use mine everyday and never have any issues with it.
Yeah, I'm 99% sure at this point that the super bad performance was just bad luck... The actual hardware isn't top notch, but shouldn't be THAT bad either.
I'll try to make up for it with a couple of extra tests ;)
Is iPad 2018 better than this tab?
As far as I remember, the last iPad (non-pro) released was the 2018, so yes... Yes it is.
How do you compare the screen?
@@reddstar228 Well, both of them are actually really good, but the level of blacks and smoothness of the glass on the iPad seems a bit better. Resolution-wise I'd say they are comparable for day-to-day use, but them bezels.... The iPad lacks in this area, for sure!
Tech Hyped Thanks so much! I just bought a iPad 2018 and not sure if I should swap with Samsung tab. I have a S10 plus so it might be redundant.
@@reddstar228 I'm currently testing the s10+ and for my usage, I wouldn't even have a tablet, to be honest... I'm partially in the Apple ecosystem and part off, so continuity through apps and platforms to me is picking up where I left off in Google Apps like Sheets or Keep. I wouldn't swap the iPad for the Tab A... It'd just be a waste of money ;/
Watching this on it right now
Edit: that's posisitive right!?
Weeeelll..... Hahahahha 🤣
Me too!
dudn't enjoy the rant. and say 'get an ipad' should be said along with 'and pay 5 times the price'
What would be a good tablet? I don't wanna have to spend my entire paycheck lol
huahuahuauha... Around this price-range, I'd still say the iPads are very far ahead. So far, haven't seen anything that would compete for my money there, even if I'm not that much of a tablet person myself.
@@TechHyped Thanks, I'm getting a tablet for clash of clans and for work so would the tab a 10.5 be good for that you think?
How does this have no views or likes?
'cuz you were the first hahaha
@@TechHyped oh
Its not that bad mate,.
You're probably right... ;/
For that price its totally not worth it, which is why I expected much more from it - plus my personal experience was tainted by it being slower than a glacier.
But for light day to day tasks, its not that bad. Basically no tablet is either, tho... 🤷🏼♂️
make a video of you destroying it
hahahaha. Definitely not, my dude. It borderline deserved it, but nah... ;P
Gaming?
Yes, thats something this can’t do nicely 😜
Lol, you want top tier performance from a mid range tablet?
Hauahuahauah... No bro, you missed the point. I want comparable performance for the price. If you're going to go head to head with another product (in this case, the iPad), you better deliver at least as much as if you wanna charge the same $, you know?
If it wasn't for the price, I wouldn't have a gripe with it... Overall its not a bad product, it just cant compete well against the other options in that range.
Just to let you know THIS REVIEW IS NOT HELPFUL AND NOT FULLY ACCURATE
Idk man 2GB of ram is awful
Rampage this is not accurate I got 32gb of ram
@@mahirv1750 that's the storage
