For the price, I think the IPad 9th Gen is the best tablet to buy in the $150-$300+ price range. The IPad has a much Larger, Crisper, and Brighter display than the Tab A8.
It's the perfect budget tablet.

Only one problem, the internet you receive is usually really bad.

Thanks for the precise review and i took away exactly what i wanted which is a budget tab for watching media, streaming live games and browsing. My S7 i’ve been using past 2yrs is also great but wanted one of my own without sharing it with the wife and not break the bank at the same time! Ill go for it!
Now this is what we call a Tech review ,All the Indian UA-camrs are so obsessed over on paper features like TFT screen ,no ips etc . ,that they actually forget that at the end the user experience is what matters ,how does it performs in day to day usage ,usabilty etc. and not what's on papers ,I am really glad I found your channel ,Love from India ,New Subs👍

Good review! That front facing camera looked good also. Keep thinking of getting one of these but it would be a luxury as I just use my phone most of the time.

Nice review, I think I will buy the 126GB version. I love that it still has a SD card and headphone jack which a lot don't anymore. I also love the price. When I am spending $1200 to $1500 on new phone every 2 years I don't need to spend a fortune just to scroll the net at night or watch a little TV at night when I am away from home.
Probably gonna be as a late christmas gift for myself. I am looking for something to use on airplanes, basically just for Netflix, and this seems like a good deal for like equivalent of 150 dollars.
Also, two thumbs up for the disc golf content!

Have you or anyone on here found that the colour resolution on this tablet lacking - which means that the colours are not vibrant at all - rather washed out.
There are several reviews pointing this out as a disappointing aspect of the A8>
1) It’s just a shame that Netflix content doesn’t look very good, with flat colours and no HDR support.
2) in going with a TFT LCD panel, it’s not particularly vibrant or colour-accurate.
I was very disappointed when I set mine up yesterday after buying it and even moreso comparing it to my older Samsung, the Galaxy Tab S2 who's colours are bright and true.
So I am taking it back tomorrow

Thanks! This is a great tab for studying w/o breaking the bank. And the absence of a pen isn't that much of a deal-breaker as it is compatible with other styli.

Thanks for this video in reassuring my future tablet purchase. I have had an old iPad Air 2 for years now and it’s really starting to show its age, the storage is awful, a full charge lasts a couple hours at best and it’s just a hassle to keep up with it. I don’t own any other apple products since I got tired of dealing with the regular issues of owning a iPhone for several years so this tablet is going to be a worthwhile investment for me

A question. It is still usable with a touchpen of any sort? Bought one yesterday for like 100 bux. And considering buying some assessories for it like a small heyboard, a cover/stand and a mouse. Possible? If yes can you recommend any for it? touchpen, mouse, stand/cover and keyboard.
Good to know I made a good decision, just bought the 128gb version on sale for $230, and I bought it mainly to use as a media device while traveling, and if what I've researched is correct, a GPS while traveling off the beaten path in my vehicle, as from what I understand, even though it is not a cellular tablet, the processor chipset it uses has a built in GPS module. Save myself some storage on my phone with the downloaded maps, and be able to use the full functionality of my offroad GPS apps while not having to use android auto.
I used to use a map setup like that on an old tablet I had. The larger screen was wonderful. Finding a place to put it in my car where it would ride easily, was the biggest problem.
Shane, this was an EXCELLENT review. I own the A7, which is this one's earlier counterpart. I love my A7. I watch videos on it nearly daily. The only issue I've had with it is random crashes, which is really rare, but it can happen. Otherwise, nothing but positives here. Enjoy your evening!!

Not too sure I like the location of the 3.5 jack, would interfere holding it, would've been better if placed toward the middle. Another option is the iPlay40H with a IPS screen and 8GB of RAM same T618 CPU. No 3.5 jack and the updates might not be there.

some may complain at the bezels but that stops you from accidentally touching the outer screen edges when writing. Decent tablet.

Nice common-sense review. Those worried about top-end specs won't want this tablet. Although I am "tech-savvy", my wife and I primarily use android tablets for mild gaming, watching you tube videos, news, on-line shopping and general web browsing. The display, overall responsiveness, and features make the A8 well-suited for these kinds of uses without paying an arm and a leg for a top-end tablet.

I've had this tablet a few months now and got it on a deal with the official book cover/stand and it's been perfect for media consumption, some web browsing and Stadia ran very well on it too.
Does it stream HD on Netflix?

No Bixby Routines on the A8?
Bro, I bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 (4+64, LTE) after going through lots of reviews, including yours. Seems okay except for one issue:
I'm unable to access Bixby Routines on my Galaxy tab A8. Is it supposed to be missing, or am I doing something wrong? I also tried updating to One UI 4.1, to no avail.
Any way to get it? (Only Bixby Routines, not Bixby the Voice Assistant)

You can use a capacitive stylus, Nowhere near as good as an s pen tho.
