I think it would be cool to see Twilight become an alicorn alongside sunset as they contrast each other well, maybe even taking over the responsibilities of Celestia and Luna? Sunset represents the sun and twilight would represent the moon, maybe having a plot where the princesses teach sunset and twilight how to raise an lower the moon and sun
Yeah, and like Daybreaker and Nightmare moon, instead of the night, it's Sunset that could go nuts and create her alter ego, leaving Twiloght to ban her; a story who will repeat in another order

And it’d be really cool if sunset and twilight were more equals unlike how celestial Luna are because Celestia seems to be the highest power where Luna is a secondary power but sunset and twilight would complement each other better if they were equal.

@BrandonHenderson-n8f yeah that’s a mistake on my wording, I’m talking about the parallels, twilight and sunset, dusk and dawn, moon and sun. I’m referring to the balance and duality as usually alicorns come in pairs like cadence and flurryheat :)
Love this, Sunset was neglected so bad in the show, with one of the best development, she deserves to being a main cast in the series.
The only issue I have is the Sonic Rainboom not happening. Fluttershy was the initial cause of Rainbowdash performing it, not Twilight. So the Rainboom would have happened largely the same. The only difference being that Twilight didn’t get her cutie mark from it since Sunset was Celestia’s pupil so Celestia wasn’t looking for anymore pupils. Fluttershy, Rainbowdash, Pinkiepie, Rarity, and Applejack would still get their cutie marks the same as before and their lives mostly unchanged at least up until Nightmare Moon’s release.
I think that rather then sunset becoming the princess of friendship she was supposed to be the next princess of the sun but because she stayed in the human world that unspoken role was then filled by luster dawn and the next princess of the moon looking at the cutiarks would have to be either trixie or starlight glimmer
Cool Theory! If Sunset was nice and stayed in Equestria, she would become the princess of friendship? I would never have thought about that. And compared to the usual timeline this one is completely mixed up.
But the most mindblowing part is the seventh element. I mean, yes, Sunset shimmer does earn it (well, the nice version of course), but I never knew, what it could be. Well, forgiveness does make sense though. Great Idea!
She could not represent friendship bit another element, like determination (feel like an undertale thing that could happen😅)
I really love the idea, but sadly I have to disagree with the timeline after events of Canterlot wedding
I am sure Twilight would be invited there, but I really doubt she would have much luck with her "It's not real Cadance" talk because she is basicly background character now and would be probably forcefully removed from Canterlot or worse...
and since Twilight is the only one who could notice that Cadance isn't real I think nobody would see the backstab coming until it is too late
I think even Chrysalis wouldn't bother teleporting Twilight to the caves since she is not important in this timeline
And everyone who had seen The Cutie Re-Mark episode can imagine how will the timeline look like if Chrysalis wouldn't bother teleporting Twilight to the caves
Now let's do another IF and say Chrysalis would teleport Twilight to the caves resulting in Cadance stopping the invasion
Twilight would be really mad at everyone for not listening to her for the second time and could fall to her nightmare form right there
Or more likely Cadance would comfort her and take Twilight as her own personal student
Later I think Twilight, Cadance and Shining Armor would be able to save Crystal empire on their own without help from Sunset and her friends, making Twilight the hero they saw in Spike in the original show
Now it's up to the imagination what will happen, but I am pretty sure that Twilight's ascension would happen in Crystal empire under guidance of Cadance, and Twilight could later take the throne in Crystal empire so Cadance and Shining Armor could have happy family life with Flurry
If Canterlot wedding played OK I think there wouldn't be much changes in what would Sunset do and after she would take Celestia's throne she will have a princess in Crystal empire who would gladly help her
But that's only my opinion 😅 so feel free to have your own

Fleur de Lis - Loyalty (I mean she IS an under cover royal guard in the comics)
Vapor Trail - Kindness (She had a whole episode with Sky Stinger to prove this)
Gabby Griffon - Generosity (Her whole thing is helping people and expecting nothing in return, even with a goal of a cutie mark in mind she put other people first)

In all honesty ig shimmer did stay as Celestias pupil then she probably never would’ve hatch the egg. She probably wouldn’t of met the main characters. Probably would’ve been a whole different group of characters. Some sort of alternate reality because if you think about it, twilight is a princess of friendship and her friends, a part of it but if you just replace twilight with sunset, wouldn’t all the other side characters be replaced as well
I agree with everything you said except the Dazzling fact, because they came to chs only After seeing Twilight defeting Sunset, so I think that there wouldn't be any Need to defeat the dazzlings, because in this timeline they would have never Met the human mane 6, or even Sunset, btw great video as always❤❤❤

Sunset Shimmer is not only my favorite MLP character, she is one of my top ten fictional characters period. I enjoyed the video, however I feel if she were the ruler of Equestria, she wouldn't be the Sunset we all know and love. I 'd also imagine there wouldn't be much threat activity in Equestria, outside of Nightmare Moon and Queen Chrysalis. Discord is responsible for most problems in the show, if he never came back G4 would be boring.
Picture this, if Sunset Shimmer didn't left, would her friends be the mane 5 Shadowbolts from the Friendship Games?

Apple Jack would have become a noble pony like her uncle & aunt and if the magic element was like sunset cutie mark (sun) the colors of all of them would have be different, like what sort of happenned when Twilight mixed the destinies of her friends
Also, what if it counted the story of Celestia & Luna but reversed? Sunset gets fustrated that Twilight always gets the attention for her actions even if Sunset is the one who will rule over. Because of this, she keep learning and became Eclipse Shaterer, who leaves Twilight to use the elements of haemony to ban her. Twilight become princess of friendship & Sunset will become princess of determination
I don't foresee any major changes; Rainbow Dash would still execute the sonic rainboom, leading to the other main five receiving their cutie marks.
Everything would likely proceed as it normally does, with the exception of Twilight not being Celestia's personal student.
She could still be accepted into the School of Magic but might miss out on being chosen by Celestia. It's also possible that Princess Celestia selects two students, with Sunset being admitted first, while Twilight eventually gains entry when the rainboom triggers the cutie mark event for everypony.
In this scenario, I picture Sunset thriving as the Princess of Friendship, while Twilight concentrates solely on her studies and magical prowess, potentially leading her to drop out or struggle academically. She might even find herself in the mirror world instead of Sunset Shimmer.

It's so dark that Sunset's cutie mark is literally the same as Celestia's. This proves that Sunset was supposed to be Celestia's successor and raise the sun every day but Sunset betrayed her

i mean if we assume the whole point of celestia teach and nurture the next leader of equestria a new leader, plus the whole destiny thing the whole thing woud end up mostly the same. just the path toward sunset ascension and became a princess will overall differ.
Sunset is probably the element of magic (red crystal), its counterpart in Equestria is probably the crystal inside the corrupted Alicorn amulet. Therefore the original crystal of friendship, had to become the crystal of magis aswell. Its literally in the title of the show: Friendship is Magic.

In my opinion, Sunset Shimmer shows that Opaline was able to reform herself, since both stole, manipulated and threatened to get their way, and basically Opaline had a lot of traumas, not only the fact of having to bear that Celestia and Luna were more popular than them and above all the fact of having a family that did not love her much and above all something very tragic and that is having lived her entire childhood without a cutie mark.
I actually can't wait to see this. Sunset is my second favorite character!

True, the one thing is, though, is that actually it would be twilight's destiny that would be changed, she managed to only hatch the egg (in my opinion) because the sonic rainbow boom startled her and she released bunch of UNCONTROLLED magic
