Thank You TB. Your the man. I’ve learned so much from your Videos and Tutorials.
Hey thanks! Good to hear :) Hope you are doing well!
All killer no filler as per usual. Learn so much from these videos. Thank you!
Haha thanks 🙏
Nice tips Taylor! I've been an interior photographer for 6 years, but it is very important study different styles and techniques in order to improve your own style.
Thanks! Very true
Great tips man! Loved the breakdown for motion graphic placements, so smart. 🤙🏻
Thanks !! Pretty easy once you think about it.
Thanks Taylor! I’m really working on making my videos better and better!
Me too! Thanks for checking out the vid
Helpful as always! Thank you!
NP! Thanks Sheri 🙏
great video.. thanks man... could yo udo a link or tutorial on adding texts/assests? thanks man
Great tips! Thank you!
Thanks for the comment! Glad the vids are helping you :)
Thank you for the tips.
No prob! Glad to share :)
Great info and advice!
Thanks for checking out the vid !
Awesome!
Thank you!
Thanks for the tips! Today on my shoot it felt like I was doing an interpretive dance - with my gimbal. Sometimes it’s fun to try the Hyrubel type shots, but most clients aren’t into that.
Fun! What's a Hyrubel type shot?
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo Look him up on IG
Great tips, thanks Taylor!
Thanks! How are things going for you?
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo I’ve just upgraded all my gear R6 and Mini3, hoping to take on some jobs while still working my full time job then possibly go part time to start my own company 😎
@@samdub Epic Setup!! Thats the best way to go so you can be a little more picky with clients and not get stuck with the worst ones lol. How are you liking it so far? Kind of tempted to switch to the M3P since its so tiny.
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo I’ve not yet started Taylor, although I’m currently making a promo video for the company I work for so I’ve got at least one video to show potential clients! I’ve been a photographer for many years but only ever dabbled in video, so I’m using this to get experience with the new body and drone too! 😎
Awesome! Definitely helps to have the photography background.
One thing I do is actually start in the bedroom and focus on what I want, then back out the room and reverse it in post. This way the camera doesn’t switch focus as I’m walking in the room. Just something I do.
Nice! So you’re using manual focus for that? Fun strategy for moving the camera into focus on people too
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo actually I use auto focus. That way even though I’m getting further from the focus point, I don’t have to adjust my focus ring as I would have to do in manual focus. 😃
Makes more sense for RE! Smart strategy.
Have you tried that with MF for portraits and creative stuff like that? Pretty fun visual effect to go from out of focus to perfectly focused with a gimbal movement.
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo oh absolutely. I love that technique when I’m shooting music videos and stuff.
Music videos are fun 🤘
great tips! i just got a Laowa 9mm f/2.8 lens for realesate i heard its pretty good, do i need a ND filter?
If you're doing video it's definitely handy to get smoother looking footage! Super cool lens.
great tips and good idea re extend content for social media post #genius
Thanks! Hope it helps ya ✌️
Hey Jason, you're a big reason why I recently started getting into photography/videography for real estate. Just purchased the Sony 6400 to up my gear game, but I noticed footage is sometimes too dark, and gets too noicy in post. What'd be the best way to fix this problem?
Keep coming with these awesome vids bro 👊🏼
Hey! It has to do with your camera settings. Are you shooting in manual or auto settings??
Basically, High ISO will cause noisy footage. Every camera has a “native iso” where it performs best and looks cleanest. For photo make sure to keep the iso as low as you can (100-800). For video it’s more of an issue - I’d try to stay at iso 640 as much as you can but do some tests to see what the higher ISOs look like for reference. I haven’t used that camera but some other Sonys do really well at 640 & 12800 so those might be the same for yours or something similar.
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo appreciate your comment Taylor, yea I try to keep my ISO at 100 always, always shooting in Manual when filming, and in A when doing photography.
I figured it out, lowered my Aperature way down, recorded in 25p, so 1/50 which helped and played around with ISO after that (between 100-400).
Again, appreciate your content, learned a lot and still learning daily 🙂
Awesome! Makes sense !! Make sure to do the tests and see which ISOs are cleanest for your camera. For video most cameras native iso is either 400 640 or 800 which might come out cleaner and with more dynamic range than 100 👍👍
Hi Koendert, I use the a6400 for real estate and pair it with the laowa 9mm which is great for video because it allows f/2.8 which is great for darker rooms without having to adjust ISO much!
@@jeffreybarnhart3725 Nice Combo!
Just got the a6400 with a 9mm, Sony 35mm, and the kit lens 18-105. Looking for a gimbal recommendation.
You can probably use the new DJI ronin mini since it's a lightweight setup!
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo thank you bro! I ended up getting great deals on a ronin rs2. (Way more gimbal than I need, though hahahaa) but I got bit for $250 so I couldn’t say no
Just got the fx3 for video.
Do you have more examples of the static tripod shots? It looks like you're moving the camera a little bit, is that true?
Check out this video - I did mostly tripod shots to change it up. ua-cam.com/video/EHj4hi25OIg/v-deo.html
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo awesome! thank you!!
Great tips! Question for you. When filming outdoors with a Canon RP 16-35mm F4L, the quality seems so off compared to indoor footage. The foliage and most details are not very sharp at all, but indoors I can get some great shots with alot of detail. What could be the issue? I've been considering scrapping my canon and going to a Sony a7iii because of the great reviews and videos I've seen of indoor and outdoor footage looking insanely clean and crisp. Thoughts and feedback always appreciated! 🤞👍
Hey! What settings are you changing when you go outdoors ?
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo Generally I go from shooting f4-f5/5.6 ISO 200/400-800 indoors (most places I've been doing shoots for don't have amazing lighting) to shooting outdoors at f9/10 up to f13 ISO 100-200.
@@xTw1sTeDK1LLAx Very interesting! That should be really crispy. Where are you focusing? Also what about other settings (shutter speed, frame rates, any filters etc) Super curious.
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo I do wonder if maybe it's my focus type like zone af or something like that. Settings wise 1080 30fps shutter 1/60. I do use a CPL filter if there's wooden floors and crazy blown out windows. But for my last shoot I used no filter at all and was not happy with the end result.
@@xTw1sTeDK1LLAx I always regret it when I forget to use a CPL! haha. Yeah thats the only thing I can think of like maybe it accidentally focused on something really close on the bottom of the frame or something like that. I typically just use the fixed point and put it in the middle of the screen or wherever it needs to be to focus on the front of the house or whatever the shot is of and that usually works fine! Also If you get a VND filter it will help you have more control over your aperture for outdoor shots - Im sure you already know that though! Let me know if all of that helps :)
Does Taylor have any videos of him going over his actual in camera settings before a shot?
Hey! I’m not sure if I do but I have some BTS videos with a cheat sheet for settings you can download if you want. Let me know what questions you have and I’m glad to help 👍👍 drive.google.com/file/d/10TJ8l_LKeZJlmQyPzw2KIfadLVzAalsB/view The main settings I change from shot to shot are ISO and aperture or adding VND for exteriors for more control though.
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I’m just confused I guess. I grabbed a Sony a7siii with a 14-24mm sigma, shooting in slog3 at iso640 as my first base, 60fps 1/125, and my footage comes out looking not crisp and clear at all, still with a ton of noise and almost not even in focus. The exposure is supposed to be on the lighter side from what I understand about slog3, but I’m trying to balance exposure for both windows and interior. I’m obviously making sure the interior is the focus for the exposure overall, but I just can’t seem to get my footage to ever look as crisp and clear as everyone else’s.
@@ogsiewert6474 What are you doing for Aperture & Focus Points??? I wonder if the people you are comparing to are shooting at 12,800 ISO and a cranked up Aperture for everything to be in focus. But if you're at 640 or 12800 it shouldn't get much noise. Here's my other settings I use for fx3/a7siii if it helps: FULL RES CODEC - XAVC S 4K - 200MB 422 10 BIT
PP8 SLOG3
SGAMUT 3 CINE
PROXIES XAVC HD 9M 4-2-0 10 BIT
NATIVE ISO'S ONLY - 640 & 12,800 (FOR CLEANEST IMAGE)
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo those are my exact settings as well. Only 640 or 12800 on pp8. I usually try to keep my aperture anywhere from 4-9 depending on the room. Sometimes I’ll go 2.8.
I use a different proxy but that shouldn’t matter once the export happens from what I understand
What do you use to deliver your pictures/videos to clients? Do you have a website for your business?
Usually just Google Drive (make a client folder & share) or pixieset for events and brand shoots
I don’t have a site right now but I’ll be working on a new one soon!
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo Interesting, thanks for the reply. I'm just getting started with my re photo business and your videos are really helpful. I've been looking into pixieset for my all in one website, photo delivery, etc. Have you not found it necessary to have a website until now? Keep up the great videos!
I think they’re definitely necessary. I’ve just been lucky in the position to have referrals in the past so I was alright without one because my work was out there already (if that makes sense)
4K in 30p or 1080 in 60p? I’m limited with my current camera body 😬
Which ever one you like better. I find that for most shots 30 frames per second is fine but for details 60 works great.
hey man, can we not shoot real estate videos with iphones for agents? They are also good quality with a gimbal especially
Hey Shawn! You can do whatever you want to. Just might not be preferred by some. Have you seen my other videos about shooting with smartphones ??
Taylor I will like to shadow you please. We live in the same city
0:50 you left us hanging; upgrade to what?? 😲
ha! You tell me.
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo really kinda hoping you help a brother out; I’m currently looking to switch systems because my XT4’s been struggling in the low-light department in video.
@@everardopastor If you want something that will always give you a clean shot with high dynamic range definitely consider getting a Sony. A7siii and FX3 (same image different body) are insane for low light performance. With native ISO's @ 640 and 12,800 (both super clean) Its really a totally different experience shooting with them when you stick to those iso's. Other than that, going full frame helps and so does upgrading to a 2.8 wide lens if you don't have one. Currently I'm on the fence between getting the a7siii/fx3 or r5 (renting one this week to test it out!) - Only because I do both photos + video and have a lot of canon lenses already so it might be better for me. Otherwise I'd definitely go a7sii/fx3!
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo thx for the recommendation, any feedback on the photo performance for them? 📝🤓
@@everardopastor Photos on a7siii/fx3 are not bad if you get the lighting right in camera, but definitely not the same as 30+mp photos. But then again some people shoot HDR in jpeg so its probably better than that lol.
