Your work is amazing! Thank you for proving to the naysayers (who likely haven’t even tried it) that a quality phone and gimbal are every bit as effective as a DSLR/mirrorless camera on a huge, heavy rig.
I love everything about your video. Can you please continue to show us in real time what the video looks like as you’re doing it? You started that way but didn’t do for every other shot. Thanks for taking the time to share. I appreciate it very much!!
Thanks so much! You mean like a POV behind the scenes and the shot as it’s being recorded ? Always hard to gauge how much to leave in/cut out to keep things moving and not too boring to watch!
Back to watch this again in preparation for two shoots coming up - and there are a ton of great pointers. Main one for me is S L O W movement! Your short, slow clips keep the momentum going instead of lengthy shots. A beautiful home and you captured the magic of the exterior with the brilliant red foliage. Thank you for sharing your tips!!!!
That was absolutely excellent! I am so new to photography. I have a Canon R10 mirrorless and a Samsung 23 Ultra. I seem to favor the 23 Ultra as my go-to camera. I am going to do my first real estate shoot this coming weekend. It's our own property we're selling in the Texas Hill Country - so I've got time. Your instructional will help me get what I need. Thank you. 🤙🙏
Awesome! Glad to hear that. If you want to see the editing process I did a full editing breakdown a few videos after this one. Thumbnail is mostly my phone 👍
Just getting started in real estate photography and really enjoying it, and videography is something I would love to add to my business in the future. I’m shocked how great the video came out just from an iPhone! Definitely going to keep this in mind when I eventually come around to making these kinds of videos!
I loved your video tutorial!! Simple and best of all using an iPhone ! Trying to do this for a hobby not to do for luxurious big homes but simple homes like these . Thank you for sharing your tips .

I do photography and use another camera cuz when they see you pulling out your iPhone they like wait a minute. I can do the same 😂😂😂 but doing simple homes or working with agents that likes simple videos according to their pockets then you are fine😂 even if you make a video for $100 or $75 each video that only needs 1-3 min hey that’s good! Getting 3 homes and you will end up with $200+ a day. Again choose agents that is willing to pay $75 or even $50 to do a 2 min video and I will assure u they won’t care if you bring a smart phone
Thanks!! For phones mostly just tap the screen on the area I am prioritizing for exposure, and hold to lock it in! Sometimes that’s the window, sometimes the wall if I need to prioritize the interior in darker scenarios.
Nice!! Best bet is to keep it simple and get all the info first then get creative. I have a lot more BTS content on the channel if you want to check it out! Like this one for example on a simple workflow for RE videos: ua-cam.com/video/TwWImlPQ-w0/v-deo.htmlsi=hYlHMY3rRpQ6ss_b
Nicely done! I just got the iPhone 12 pro with the DJI OM4 gimbal, primarily for CubiCasa and walk throughs, but after seeing this, I might leave my pro gear at home and start shooting with the iPhone now. Certainly would help workflow on those multi shoot days!
Great video!! My 2nd time to watch and will probably watch a few more times. Just getting into this and I’m learning a lot from you. I’m a Realtor and I’m learning this for my own benefit to make some great videos to market my own listings and other homes in the area. Thank you!!
Thank you for sharing this insightful video! Have you ever filmed an empty house? I'm curious about how you approach that situation and what tips you might have.
Love this so much!! Thank you for sharing. I'm getting back into photo/video work and doing a test session for interior design / real estate this week and was like "can I use my gimbal and iphone for the walkthrough video? Will they think I'm unprofessional?" but seeing this def gave me the confidence! I also have a gimbal for my fuji.
The tips and the full video were amazing I'm looking forward to applying them in my real estate business. what program do you recommend to use to edit my video's as a beginner? Thank you
Thanks! I would probably go with Final Cut Pro if you have a Mac. Or Adobe Premiere Pro if you already are using Adobe products. They're both pretty simple to get going in.
Great Video Taylor! Wish I would of seen this week's ago. I'm curious if you have any videos like this with suburban homes that don't have much exterior scenery to capture? Thank you for your time!
Thanks Taylor, I know this was a year ago, but still a great video. Being new to the DJI Mobile 6 Gimbal, it would have been helpful to know your gimbal settings, i.e. mode or trigger technic on some of your shots. Oh, I see you've done a part II, so I'll check it out!
Thank you so much bro. It's very helpful. I got a quick question. As now vertical videos are getting trendy. Can you make a video on how to do the vertical real estate videos? It would be very helpful. I tried the vertical shot several times, but the feeling is not as the horizontal one. It feels so weird haha.
Just found your channel and am learning a lot from your vids, thanks! Quick question…why suggest a pay-for site for background music when there are so many great FREE options available?
Great question! I think it’s fine to treat them normally and mostly use wide angles so the viewer can imagine their stuff/life there. Window views, appliances, landscaping, interesting design features, built in’s etc. are good for detail shots 👌
Love it❤ Can you please make a video on how to shoot video of a housing project streets from car while driving as I have done some but want to make them more professional. Thanks
@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo thanks for your reply 🙏 Actually I deal with real estate in Pakistan so here we have to show all the developments like streets ,roads and whatever is on road sides. So you can't just walk on the roads and make videos oviously you need a car to show up all the new developments because it's not only single house to show its a project to show. I do share a link below one of my videos please have look whenever you have time. And tell me how to improve overall video quality and stuff. Will be thankful 🙏 ua-cam.com/video/FWFoxVvTiCk/v-deo.html
Thanks!! I attached the gimbal to a monopod & made it a 5ft pole. Fun for “fake drone” shots too for exteriors. Kinda tricky though since you can’t see the screen !
Thank you for the informative video. I just started learning how to use the gimbal. Question for you: Do you use the DJI App at all? Or do you just film with the Iphone camera?
Perfect and real video, we saw a lot of shaken as your shoot. In general when you saw a lot of vidéo in other People in UA-cam you didn't see shaken whereas it's too complicated to not have shaken when you filmed with dj smooth
Gosh. Thanks so much! I have 4 Airbnbs and live in a somewhat remote area. Getting a real estate photographer here is expensive and limited in variety. I'm hoping to find a video from you on editing now!
Glad to help ✌️ I have several on the channel if you look for them but here’s one for this particular edit : ua-cam.com/video/_ilf_Tat8Yw/v-deo.htmlsi=tFGVzNH4fAFUgtYO
Man, I was about to buy a Osmo Pocket but came across your video and now I’m def gonna get one of these gimbals instead. Really trying to start with small investments and roll everything into it. Great video.
Nice job! Two questions that I’m curious about. 1. Is there a reason why you use the phone camera instead of the DJI in-app camera? 2. Do you make any edits with the views as far as exposure, highlights, contrast, etc? Or do you just keep it raw from the phone video?
Hey! No not really, was just keeping it simple for this video. Check out this editing video for more details :) (it’s a full editing breakdown for this video) ua-cam.com/video/_ilf_Tat8Yw/v-deo.html
Hey thanks for the great video. Can you please clarify what lens you set the iPhone. Is it 0.5x ? I know you mentioned super wide. Sorry if I sound dumb. Also did you disable the auto stabilization. I have a third party app that allows me to disable the camera's auto stabilizer.
.5x and with stabilization 👍👍 I think I used some other lenses to throughout the video for details and other shots but you can probably tell. Always good to get the super wide or everything and then use the other lenses for more alternate shots on the important rooms & features.
Your videos are amazing - I am just getting into real estate, and I want to study pretty hard before I try to pick up gigs. All of this to say, your videos are calm, relaxing, and easy to follow, and I am thankful that I came across them~
Thanks! For smartphone stuff, no. This one still works great, so no reason to upgrade. I don’t really do much with it though except some UA-cam content like this (I use a cinema camera for any client work).
This video was really well done. I'm debating between buying a new phone and getting a video camera. Kinda tough because video is not often requested so that's a lot to spend
Final Cut 👌 But Premiere is good too and Davinci is probably best honestly just haven’t taken enough time to get used to it. (And they have a great free version)

Up to you on pricing and what clients are willing to pay in your area! I have this one video on editing w/phones. I would also try Davinci Resolve (free) which is a great program for more professional editing options even though VN is super easy! ua-cam.com/video/DFGcGyJIwfA/v-deo.htmlsi=tGg4pMhyLgkCb1o3
Thanks! There is one a few videos after this one talking about that if you want to check it out 👌 but basically , pan follow mode + slow settings is my favorite for smoother moves
That’s awesome to hear! Planning is great and is really effective to show things smoothly. I usually add forward motion to RE shots but it’s not always necessary.
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo I thought I watched a video where you said you don’t often pan anymore because it’s hard to watch (I agree!) and I’m so intrigued by how you show rooms. Do you pan slowly and just walk into the room?
@jennifersmithnbrealtor just varies from shot to shot and what goal I have. Usually just push in shots (only moving forward while holding the same camera angle) or combinations of movements (but still pretty slow)
@jennifersmithnbrealtor probably the biggest reason to not pan is people end up doing them Way too fast so it makes you feel dizzy and is hard to keep up with especially on vertical video.
Thanks! Great question. It’s because I edit on a 24fps timeline (looks most natural) So when I film at 30fps I can adjust the playback speed of the footage to 80% (which = 24fps) which smooths out the movements a little bit and makes it look slightly dreamy. Personal preference! 60 is great too but ends up looking grainy in darker interiors.
Hey! Thanks so much. Not totally sure what you mean, but in the edit I use a 4k 24 fps timeline and export with those settings too if that’s what you meant👌
Thanks! Yes, check out the video a couple after this one to see the whole editing process. It was mostly just adding saturation and adjusting the contrast depending on how much dynamic range the shots needed. Plus a little bit of changing the temp + tint per shot. Pretty easy stuff!
Modern, classical, jazz, future bass, etc. once you download a decent amount it will suggest good ones to you and gets faster. Now I mostly just download things from the suggestions and they’re great :)
Thanks Taylor. Great stuff! Question for you please: do you slow down the footage in a separate app before adding it the 24 fps timeline, or do you just slow down each clip in the timeline as required?
Hey! Great question. For this one I just put it all on the timeline in the order I wanted, selected everything and changed the speed to 80% then cut + moved footage around (and added speed ramps) to make it fit to the music and flow better.
Thanks so much! Yes, check out the link in video description for my Real Estate Essentials Playlist once you sign up :) www.epidemicsound.com/music/themes/creators-picks/real-estate-essentials-by-taylor-brown/
Great video and advice! Thanks! Should I walk at a normal pace (not slow) if I’m going to slow everything down later? I tend to walk too slow then it’s waaay too slow at 80% 🤦🏻♂️
Yeah! Just try several speeds (maybe say what speed it is for your reference on each shot) and see what works for you! A lot of the time it’s easier to get a smoother movement if you’re moving faster too so that’s a bonus!
Make sure to check out Part II from this mini series! (Full Editing Breakdown)

Sure thing. Thanks.
To confirm the phone is level, I use the iOS measure app which has a level built in. It will tell you if it's off 1degree or more
Smart!!
Your work is amazing! Thank you for proving to the naysayers (who likely haven’t even tried it) that a quality phone and gimbal are every bit as effective as a DSLR/mirrorless camera on a huge, heavy rig.

good stuff! the only thing I would recommend is attention to detail; remove dishrag hanging from oven, leaf from fire pit, etc.

Nice share. can you talk more on gimbal setting needed like lock mode/tilt mode etc what is correct seetings?
Thanks! There is one a few videos after this one talking about that if you want to check it out 👌 but basically , pan follow mode + slow settings is my favorite for smoother moves
I recommend using filmicpro or some other camera app
Love Filmic Pro!
no words to say its its super
Thanks!
Thanks! Love your content brother. 🤙
Wow thanks! 🥂
Beautiful video! Thanks for the info!
Thanks John! Hope it helped you
Have learned so much!! I am so interested in your ideas on panning and what you do instead or suggest
Here’s amother BTS video that goes over a really simple workflow that might help you out :)

@jennifersmithnbrealtor probably the biggest reason to not pan is people end up doing them Way too fast so it makes you feel dizzy and is hard to keep up with especially on vertical video.
Great advice! What would you recommend on the gimbal follow speed for doing a house tour walkthrough? Thanks!
Slow !! Always ;)
This is simply amazing
Can I have this same image quality with my iPhone 13?
@musigakehmi3390 it’s not nearly as good but still pretty solid! If you look back I did some of my earlier videos with one ✅
Thank you for the video. I just want to ask you about why you adjust the camera in 30FPS
EXCELLENT STUFF!!!
Thanks!
great video! Now mostly is how do you get that quality? what settings you use in Premier Pro in order to get that quality?
Thank you
Hey! Thanks so much. Not totally sure what you mean, but in the edit I use a 4k 24 fps timeline and export with those settings too if that’s what you meant👌
Awesome video, Wich mode do you use on your Gimbal. Stanby mode / Lock mode / Follow mode / POV Mode / Vortex Mode.
Thanks! Follow mode
This was live bro. I need to get one of those gimbal’s.
Thanks! Honestly such a fun creative experience vs shooting with a heavy cinema setup.
Holy moly you're good! Really good!!
Thanks!
Thanhs for your clip
are you using your EOS R with the 16-35 for your talking head on this video? what was the focal length and do you have on a ND filter
Probably yes from what I remember. With a variable nd filter lens adapter (EF-RF) & on camera mic rode videomic pro+
Awsome video on a smart phone. really impressive but my question is did you need to do any colour correction in post
Thanks! Yes, check out the video a couple after this one to see the whole editing process. It was mostly just adding saturation and adjusting the contrast depending on how much dynamic range the shots needed. Plus a little bit of changing the temp + tint per shot. Pretty easy stuff!
i love your videos and i'm just getting into editing for my videography. have you considered masking in your videos?
What kind of masking ?
Love this video thank you! What was the song you used in the final edit? I am with Epidemic as well :)
Hey thanks!! It's Volatile by Dreem - If you want to see the full editing tutorial check this video out - ua-cam.com/video/_ilf_Tat8Yw/v-deo.html
This is amazing! Thanks for sharing. Cna you tell me what keyword do you usually search for BGM on epidemic for real estate video?
Modern, classical, jazz, future bass, etc. once you download a decent amount it will suggest good ones to you and gets faster. Now I mostly just download things from the suggestions and they’re great :)
Great video! Do you have any videos about your edit process?
Yeah! Check out the most recent one , it’s breaking down editing this video :)
Beautiful work! Can’t wait until I can offer something like this. 😍😍
Thank you! I’m sure you can do it ✅✅
Awesome! Thanks for sharing! 👏
Thank you!
Thanks Taylor. Great stuff! Question for you please: do you slow down the footage in a separate app before adding it the 24 fps timeline, or do you just slow down each clip in the timeline as required?
Hey! Great question. For this one I just put it all on the timeline in the order I wanted, selected everything and changed the speed to 80% then cut + moved footage around (and added speed ramps) to make it fit to the music and flow better.
awesome video as always. Do you have any recommended songs on Epidemic Sound?
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
amazing!! Love this and thank you! How do you do the quick sped up parts that look like a jump shot? min 14:47
Thank you! Here's the full breakdown of that edit - That technique is called "Speedramping" ua-cam.com/video/_ilf_Tat8Yw/v-deo.html
nice place nice house nice teacher,tnQ man🥰
Thanks!!
